| Nicole Kidman wore Chanel to the 'Being the Ricardos' premiere | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from Thursday night?s premiere of Being the Ricardos, one of the most cursed films of the year. Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are trying to muster up some chemistry for the cameras, which is funny because I tend to believe that Javier can have chemistry with anyone or anything. He could have chemistry with a lamppost. He could have sexual energy with a plant. If anything, I believe that his Spanish-accented take on Desi Arnaz will be accepted by audiences because Javier will coast on his own charisma. All of the negative energy is going towards Nicole as Lucille Ball.
As for fashion, Nicole wore Chanel. It?s not the best thing she?s worn but it?s far from the worst. RCFP posted the dress as it appeared on the runway, and I think Chanel actually improved it for Nicole. It was way too drapey and art-project-y on the runway. I mean, it?s still an ugly dress. But Nicole wore it better. Nicole is famous for being a fashion icon, and she?s someone who knows how to harness the power of fashion to help sell her projects. So doesn?t it feel like she?s already phoning this one in?
I?m reminded of how hard Nicole sells the projects she produces and puts together, like Big Little Lies. On Ricardos, Nicole was an actress for hire, and she?s indicated in interviews that she basically said yes to the project because she liked Aaron Sorkin?s script. It didn?t really occur to her that she was about to play one of the most iconic redheads in modern history, and that she might need to do some research and work into sounding and looking like Lucille Ball. On a recent TV appearance, Nicole said she wasn?t ?initially? anxious when she took the role but ?When the reality of playing her hit me, I went, What I have said yes to? To which I then went, Oh no, Im not right. Everyone thinks Im not right, so Im going to try to sidestep this.' Then Aaron Sorkin convinced her to stay on. Ugh. Nicole is giving us someone to blame when this mess blows up in her face.
The character posters are terrible too!! Why does everything about this cursed film look so low-budget?

| Nicole Kidman wore Rodarte to the AMMP opening gala: Halloween chic? | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Saturday night was the opening gala for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in LA. They got a better A-list turnout than this year?s Emmys and Oscars combined. And yes, everyone was vaxxed and Covid-tested! Since it was a night of Hollywood types celebrating themselves and the history of Hollywood, the fashion was great! This definitely counts as ?early Oscar campaigning? too, especially since a lot of the attendees will likely be up for Oscars next year. Nicole Kidman wore this Rodarte which really stood out. I like the tea-length although I definitely think the bottom hem could be cleaner. And it feels very? Halloween? It?s the orange-and-black combo. I?m okay with her curly hair this is the texture of her natural hair before she fried it and dyed it blonde for years. I suspect this is either a wig or she?s getting significant help from a weave.
Meg Ryan wore Ulyana Sergeenko. The dress is fine, the hair needs a significant update though. I also think she?s stopped messing with her face as much as she used to, and that?s a welcome relief.
Marlee Matlin in Armani. Black velvet feels so wintery to me and I?m not sure we?re there yet! She looks nice but I wish the neckline was just a tad lower. Still, it gives off a vintage flapper kind of vibe, which fits with the event.
Camila Moronne in Louis Vuitton. This is awful for the event! She looks like she?s going to an album release party. At least wear full-length pants for the love of God.

| Nicole Kidman got an exemption on Hong Kong's mandatory 3-week quarantine | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Nicole Kidman worked during the pandemic, and she continues to work through? whatever we?re still experiencing. Like, the Phase 3 of the pandemic, where millions of people are vaccinated but highly contagious variants are exploding through the population. Most countries still have travel restrictions in place, and most countries also have mandatory quarantines set up for the few travelers coming in. Hong Kong has a mandatory three-week quarantine for every person entering the country, regardless of vaccination status or nationality. Except that Nicole Kidman arrived in Hong Kong for work and she was exempted from the quarantine procedures.
Australian actor Nicole Kidman was exempted from quarantine in Hong Kong last week, the government appeared to confirm even as the Asian financial hub braced for more draconian COVID-19 travel restrictions to take effect from midnight Thursday. The citys government did not directly identify the 54-year old Hollywood star but said it had granted foreign overseas film personnel permission to skip quarantine for the purpose of performing designated professional work.
The exemption contrasts sharply with entry rules for residents that are some of the most stringent coronavirus requirements globally, sparking online criticism from residents in the special administrative region of China.
Many travellers to Hong Kong have to do up to 21 days mandated quarantine in a hotel, even those who are vaccinated. The measures have led to many residents not being able to visit relatives and travel overseas for nearly two years.
Kidman was in the former British colony to film an Amazon television series called The Expats, online news site HK01 reported. She was spotted shopping and filming after arriving from Sydney last week, according to HK01.
Australia is battling an outbreak of the fast-moving Delta strain and reported its biggest one-day rise in COVID-19 infections on Thursday. Hong Kongs government has upgraded 15 overseas places including the United States, Spain and France to high risk effective Thursday midnight, meaning only vaccinated people from those countries will be allowed to enter. The measures have sparked chaos for travellers who are desperately trying to rebook hotel quarantine and flights with limited supply available.
[From Reuters]
I knew that Nicole spent a good chunk of the past year in Australia, working on various projects in an almost entirely Covid-free area, but I thought she was filming the Lucille Ball movie in the US? So has she been able to move freely between Australia and the US this whole time, with minimal quarantines? Variety says that Nicole flew to Hong Kong from Sydney on a private plane, and that she?s in Hong Kong for The Expats, which she?s executive producing. Hong Kong, like Australia, has some of the strictest border controls in the world right now because of the raging Delta Variant. Anyway, the people who actually live and work full-time in Hong Kong are pissed. As they should be. It?s astounding to me that Kidman has been able to travel so freely this whole time. Australia also made a huge exception for her last year, remember?

| Nicole Kidman wore Armani for the brief SAG Awards: lovely or blah? | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The SAG Awards were held last night. The actual ?handing out of awards? happened virtually, over low-quality Zooms and video link-ups around the world. The ceremony was a brief one-hour long and it was pretty chill. I?m honestly surprised that more people didn?t just wear pajamas or sweats, but a lot of women did dress up, like Nicole Kidman. Kidman was nominated for her work in The Undoing (she did not win). She did a rather great backyard photoshoot in this lovely Armani look. Her pandemic/backyard style is better than her red carpet style in recent years, I have to say.
Cate Blanchett wore Givenchy and she really had her hair and makeup done! These people are so extra!
Vanessa Kirby in what looks like McQueen, although it?s actually Givenchy. She?s very much a fashionista, but I?m still not going to watch that movie where she loses a baby (that?s what she was nominated for).
Mindy Kaling in Alex Perry. One of my favorite looks of the evening.

| Nicole Kidman: I wish I hadn't 'screwed up my hair by straightening it all the time' | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
I have previously been accused of ?hating curly hair.? I do not! I just don?t like that permed-hair look (especially in 2020), but natural curls are lovely. I wish my hair had more curl or wave to it. Even when I?ve tried to curl my hair, it will only stay that way for about ten minutes. So not only am I jealous of women with curl and wavy hair, I?m jealous of women who can curl their hair and have it stay that way. Nicole Kidman always had curly, red hair. As she became more and more famous, her hair got strawberry blonde-to-flat-blonde and straight. Her hair often looked overprocessed and just kind of not-great. But slowly, she?s been bringing back the old-school red and the old-school curls. She spoke about that in an interview to promote The Undoing (where her character has red curly hair, as seen above).
Nicole Kidman is hiding her curls no more. In a new interview with The Sunday Morning Herald, the Academy Award-winning actress admitted that while she may only have a few regrets in her life, one is damaging her naturally curly hair with repeated heat.
Do I wish that I hadnt screwed up my hair by straightening it all the time? Sure, Kidman told the outlet.
In the past few years, fans of the Big Little Lies star, 53, have often seen the actress rocking straightened hair or a blowout. Recently, however, Kidman has been making a transition back to her naturally curly locks, and fans have been loving it.
Aside from reminiscing about her hair, Kidman also told the Herald that she wished she had been more careful with the sun after previously facing skin cancer.
But am I grateful to be around? Oh, yeah. And am I willing to share my knowledge, what Ive learnt along the way? Absolutely, Kidman added.
[From People]
I?m including some photos of Nicole from last year, in the span of June to September 2019, when she was filming The Undoing. She had three different hair colors and haircuts and hair styles, which makes me wonder if her old-school red curls in The Undoing were? just a wig. I hate to think it! But I do wonder if her hair is just too screwed up and overprocessed now, and she?ll never get those curls back! Also: I?ve never believed that blonde or strawberry-blonde looks good on her and I?ve never understood why she keeps insisting on it. It washes her out! The red-red color makes her look younger.

| Nicole Kidman adopted her third rescue kitty, Louis, now she's officially a Cat Lady | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

A few years ago, I learned that Nicole Kidman is a cat person. She wasn?t keeping it a secret or anything she posts photos and videos of her two fluffy kitties, Snow and Ginger, quite regularly. But since I rarely checked her Instagram, I only found out about her Cat Person credentials when I read a 2018 interview, where she talked a lot about how much she loves her kitties and how she bought them kitty-carrier backpacks so they can go hiking with her.
Well, it looks like Nicole is officially up to THREE cats. To me, having one cat says that you like cats. Having two cats says you want them to have each other?s company, and two cats are pretty manageable. But three cats is? a lot. Three cats = cat lady. People always say that cats are easier to manage than dogs and while that?s true, you?d be SHOCKED at how much time and energy two cats or three cats can take up.
Anyway, Nicole?s new fur baby is named Louis and he?s a rescue. I love him already. Oh, and Nicole and Keith also adopted a puppy last year! One dog and three cats in Nashville.
Nicole?s ?cat voice? is amazing. I also have a different voice when speaking to or for my cats.

| Are Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban breaking Australia's quarantine rules' | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are back in Australia because she?s about to film a movie there next month. They arrived more than two weeks ahead of the production start date specifically so they could follow the Australian government?s quarantine regulations. Australia has been held up as one of the success stories in the pandemic because they locked down early and thoroughly, and as of this writing, they have had less than 15,000 cases and less than 200 deaths. There is a spike in infections in Victoria which has caused concerns of a ?second wave,? but that?s why Australia is still enforcing strict quarantine and travel rules. One of those rules is about quarantining for two weeks when someone arrives in the country, which is what Nicole and Keith are doing. But the rule is that people have to quarantine in specific government-run hotel rooms where (I would presume) they can be monitored and tested regularly. Nicole and Keith aren?t doing that?
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have been caught up in controversy in their native Australia after claims the couple were flouting the country?s ultra-strict quarantine protocols in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. In Australia, it?s mandatory for citizens arriving from another country to quarantine for two weeks in a government-managed hotel room. According to a report in The Times, the pair were hit with backlash when it was discovered they were able to skip the state-mandated hotel and quarantine at their luxurious home, located 75 miles outside Sydney.
New South Wales Premiere Gladys Berejiklian has stated that there will be ?no exceptions? from the hotel quarantine; however, Kidman and Urban were granted an exemption, even though the published rules state that exemptions will only be granted ?in very limited circumstances on grounds of health or compassion.? New South Wales health authorities, The Times reports, wouldn?t comment on why they couple and their children were allowed to quarantine at their home.
However, Kidman?s publicist, Wendy Day, insisted everything is on the up and up.
?It?s absolute garbage,? Day told The Sydney Morning Herald. ?She is paying for all her own security and following all the rules, they are in isolation.?
Kidman, Day added, is using the time in quarantine to prepare for her new role in Hulu miniseries ?Nine Perfect Strangers?, with the $100-million production scheduled to being production on Aug. 10.
[From ET]
They?re not actually breaking the rules while the local officials have said that ?there will be no exceptions,? it?s clear that Australian authorities are giving exceptions to many high-profile people and celebrities entering the country. I would assume that Nicole and Keith have been told to just stay in their big mansion and not go out at all and that?s what they?re doing. Which is what they would have been doing at a government-run hotel too, although we don?t know the testing protocols and whether or not Kidman & Urban are following those. Basically, Nicole and Keith aren?t technically breaking the rules but they are getting special treatment from the government because they?re rich and famous.
Nicole is also listening to Taylor Swift?s folklore, and Nicole posted this video from behind-the-scenes on the set of Beguiled, a few years ago. Nicole thinks her look on that movie makes her ?folklore sisters? with Taylor. Which is super-cute, honestly.

| Nicole Kidman reapplies her SPF 100 sunscreen every 90 minutes 'every single day' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Nicole Kidman gave an interview to Allure and I guess this is part of some kind of promotion for Bombshell, although thats a stretch because she truly never mentions any of her projects except for Big Little Lies. My theory is that she was aiming for some awards nominations for BLL rather than Bombshell which kind of checks out. In any case, Nicole chatted to Allure about rituals, face creams and water. Some highlights:
On staying relevant: ?I?ve had some amazing roles as an actress, but it?s just so nice to be at this stage and for people to still be responding to projects like Big Little Lies as passionately as, say, Moulin Rouge, or The Others, or any of the films that I made earlier in my career. It brings me to my knees. It?s been an eye-opener for me. Sometimes there is nothing there, and sometimes there are extraordinary opportunities. But if the passion is there, it keeps you going.?
On sacred rituals: ?I?ve just wrapped a limited series called The Undoing, where I played a character that?s very intense, so I?m in the process of ?shedding? her now. It?s a very strange feeling. When I?m working on a film, I don?t have time for myself. You?re working on adrenaline, and there?s an enormous amount of fatigue. Now I can do some yoga if I want to. I can go to the beach. I take hot baths with lots of oil. I love oil, and I love bathing in it.?
On saving face: ?I used to be like, ?All those creams, who cares?? But definitely as I?ve gotten older, I?ve realized those creams are necessary. I?m shooting outdoors a lot, so the most important thing is the sunscreen ? I use Neutrogena SPF 100+ [Kidman is a spokesperson for the brand]. I reapply every 90 minutes, every single day.?
On stealing beauty secrets: ?What my husband taught me is water, water, water. We drink so much water. I didn?t realize how important it was to hydrate and flush out. But because he?s a singer, that?s part of his routine. They know that they have to drink and that it helps the chords, but it also helps the skin; it helps all the organs. It keeps you healthy.?
[From Allure]
Nicole was well into her 30s before she realized she should drink a lot of water? That? doesn?t sound real. Neither does taking hot baths with lots of oil! I guess that?s not an Indian-girl thing. My skin veers towards oily anyway, I can?t imagine taking a bath with anything more than a few bath beads, not ?lots of oil.? As for Nicole reapplying her sunscreen every 90 minutes? again, that must be for people with mega-fair skin. Unless you?re sweating up a storm and in constant direct sunlight, do you need to reapply sunscreen that often?

Nicole Kidman has a new interview with You Magazine, a British site/publication, all to promote her role in Big Little Lies 2. She?s basically the only one in BLL2 worth a damn, but I guess that?s something making a second series about these often unlikeable characters who happen to be women and moms. That?s the whole point women are different and they behave differently and sometimes appallingly. Male characters are allowed to show that kind of unlikeability, so why not women? That being said, I wish Laura Dern?s character would fall off a cliff, and if I never see Shailene Woodley & her bangs trauma dance in the surf while listening to Sufjan Stevens again, it will be too soon. But Nicole is killing it, as always, playing Celeste as a ball of neurosis, guilt, trauma, grief and recovery. You can read Nicole?s full interview here, and stay until the end where she reveals some fun stuff about her cats.
Her earliest memories are of eating: ?It was of my parents throwing snowballs at each other in Washington and I must have been about two. I remember bending down with my mittens going, ?I shouldn?t be doing this,? and eating the snow?. I used to eat ants as well, but ants don?t taste good. Just sort of off. Just acidic-y. Kind of weird. And I?ll eat anything. I?ve eaten almost anything. Witchetty grubs, worms and insects?I?ll immediately get prickly if someone says, ?You have to do this.? I?m like, ?Mmm. Not sure I have to do anything.??
She has no vanity: ?When it comes to performance I have no vanity at all. Couldn?t care less.?
She says her 79-year-old mother Janelle is always on at her to ?make an effort? My mum is like, ?Do your hair, put on some make-up, stay in shape!? You know, she?s old school. My mum won?t FaceTime me without her make-up and her hair being done and I?m like, ?Oh, come on!??
Her miracle pregnancy at 40: ?A miracle? I was like, ?Your only job, Keith, is to get me the epidural if I scream for it.? And I screamed for it. I was doing OK and then I went, ?Oh boy!??
Faith got her through her grief for her father: ?[I was] down on my knees [with grief]. It was unbearable.? It was her faith, she says, that got her through. ?I was raised Catholic. Very Catholic. I have a strong belief in God and when I?ve experienced enormous loss is when it comes in powerfully?. I wrestle with things. I?m not just like, ?Oh, everything is perfect.? I wrestle and question and that?s just the nature of probably digging in and delving into things as well.?
Whether people are still interested in her marriage to Tom Cruise: ?I?m not sure if they are. I mean, I get asked about it but it?s one of a hundred questions and now I?ve just gone, ?It?s done. That was two decades ago, so there?s nothing more to be said.? It?s disrespectful to my husband now. It?s disrespectful to my ex-husband. I?ve always said: you don?t sit at a dinner party and discuss all your exes with your new partner there, who is then privy to all of it. It?s inappropriate.?
Her Nashville menagerie includes alpacas & cats: ?[The alpacas are] a little fierce. They make noises, they spit and they can bite. We have chickens as well. Alpacas, ten fish and two cats called Ginger and Snow? I really am a cat person. I?ve just got one of those carriers. Have you seen those? Those backpacks that you can put them in? Yeah, a cat carrier that?s a backpack and it has a window that they can peek out of and it?s got air and everything and they love it.? Is she saying that she takes them on hikes? ?Yeah. I was actually going to post a picture of it and then I thought, ?Oh, I don?t want to do that.? But I may still because it is really cute. They hop in. They can?t wait to get in.?
[From You UK]
Cat protection agencies are already climbing up Nicole?s butt about putting her cats in a backpack-carrier and going hiking with them. I would say that it really depends on the cat some cats are little ragdolls who love to be carried around and wouldn?t mind riding in a backpack on a hike. Other cats would rather die than do something that uncool. Much like the women of Monterey, cats have all kinds of different personalities. But I truly got a kick out of the image of Nicole happily packing up her cats GINGER and SNOW to go on a hike with mom.
OH MY GOD I FOUND VIDEOS OF NICOLE TALKING TO HER FLUFFY CATS.
