Taking the stage as one of the night's illustrious presenters, Nicole Kidman presented Meryl Streep with Best Actress honors at the 2012 Australian Academy Of Cinema And Television Arts Awards on Friday night (January 27).
Held at Soho House in West Hollywood, California, the "Australia" actress announced Miss Streep as the winner of the prestigious award coming by way of her role as Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady".
Wearing a lovely Collette Dinnigan dress, Miss Kidman attended the event's first annual ceremony alongside her suit and tie clad country star husband Keith Urban.
Along with Meryl, the big winner at the Australian Academy Of Cinema And Television Arts Awards was "The Artist" - with the French silent film taking home Best Picture, Best Actor (Jean Dujardin) and Best Director (Michel Hazanavicius).

Simply take this as evidence of how slow it is this morning. In a few minutes, I?m going to be writing about Peaches Geldof too, so there?s that to look forward to. These are new photos of Nicole Kidman, out to lunch. She?s not in costume. Her big, teased up hairstyle is not part of some stereotypical ?Southern? character. I?m not even sure if she?s currently working on any film, is she? Her IMDB says no – she?s got three films in post and nothing coming up.
I say all of that because these days, THIS is how Nicole dresses casually, when she?s out to lunch. This is her style. Do you hate it? My immediate reaction was going to be to hate on it, but as I really looked at the pieces of this look, I think it?s appropriate for her. It’s lady-like, somewhat dainty and fussy, but well-put-together. I like the idea of the trousers, but the tailoring seems off in the hips. The blouse is too frilly for my tastes, but I understand that Nicole loves these lacy, frilly things, and the stuff on the bust makes her chest look bigger.
As for the hair – how much would you love it if this was Nicole?s new hair style from here on out? I would love it. She lives in Nashville now (sort of), and it?s good to see some of ?the bigger the hair, the closer to God? philosophy rubbing off on her.
I can?t see much of Nicole?s usually jacked face, so I?m declaring this outing a style ?win.? I?m not even being assaulted by her lips (except for in that one profile photo). YAY for Nicole!

While she's remained largely out of the paparazzi spotlight these days, Nicole Kidman drew a swarm of shutterbugs while dining out in Los Angeles, CA on Thursday afternoon (January 26).
The Aussie actress donned slacks and a white blouse with heels as she exited Joan's On Third cafe following a relaxing lunch with a few of her close gal pals.
As for keeping away from the public view, Miss Kidman recently spoke about how it helps her to better get into character for her movie roles.
The 44-year-old said, "Part of the reason of being an actor is you like playing other people?s lives and exploring all the psychologies in that and the emotions. I think having my life be as private and quiet as possible is a way in which then I can go and play characters. I like the privacy of my life and I protect it quite vigilantly.?
Nicole can next be seen portraying the role of Martha Gellhorn in an HBO movie special titled "Hemingway & Gelhorn," which airs this May.
With Clive Owen starring as Ernest Hemingway, Kidman told of playing Miss Gelhorn, ?She was the first female, really, war correspondent ... and she wrote with such direct truth ... and that is so hard to do. She?s not Hemingway, she doesn?t want to write novels, she wants to be a correspondent and I love that she was the first woman to do that ... She was a trailblazer.?

Maybe it was just the light, maybe it was just some extra-glossy lipstick, but whatever it was, Nicole Kidman?s lips looked out of control at last night?s Golden Globes. What?s weird is that I actually think Nicole has eased up somewhat on the Botox – her face was moving, she didn?t seem to be made of unbreakable porcelain, she was emoting? and then the lips. Did she just get them done (again) for the Globes? Does she have some kind of permanent lip implant in there? I?m including some closeups of her face so you can decide.
So, Nicole was at the Globes with her husband Keith Urban. Nicole was there to present – with Clive Owen!! – and promote Hemingway & Gellhorn, the HBO movie she and Clive did together. Nicole wore this studded Versace gown which? on one hand, I like it. It flatters her body, it?s not a sack, it?s not a lace doily, and it?s not overly frilly, which it what Nicole does too often. I like the idea of Nicole in studded Versace – she used to be more rock n? roll, and studded Versace is always a good idea. That being said, it?s still too light for Nicole. It washes her out. And the bust on the dress makes her tatas look super-fake and bolt-on-y. Which they very well might be, but still.
As for her hair and makeup – just shoot me because I think her hair looked fine. I would complain about another woman with her long hair worn down and worn simply, but it kind of works on Nicole, and I?m not hating it. Her makeup is fine? except for the lipstick, which just draws attention to her lip-jacking.

Enjoying an afternoon date, Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban were spotted out in Manhattan's posh Chelsea neighborhood on Sunday (December 18).
All bundled up as they ventured out in the chilly temps, the "Moulin Rouge" actress and her country crooner man were all smiles as they made their way to an area movie theater.
And it looks at if Nicole has even more to smile about as 2011 comes to an end. According to BRW business magazine, the star is among the top Aussie earners of the year.
With roles in "Just Go with It," "Rabbit Hole" and various endorsements, Kidman cashed in a cool $18.6 million over the past 12 months.

We’ve heard in the past that Nicole Kidman is not the most pleasant person to work with or for. The 20080 Andrew Morton Tom Cruise book painted her as cold and moody, and described how demanding and particular she could be. He wrote “If the jet wasn’t stocked with Beluga caviar and all the trimmings she appeared deeply irritated, exhibiting a jaded petulance. Nicole often seemed bored or disenchanted with her life as a Hollywood star, expecting a luxurious lifestyle as her birthright. She had no sense of wonderment about the world. So many wonderful things happened to her, but she had an enduring sense of boredom.” Nicole seems to be genuinely happy in her current marriage to Keith Urban and to have taken the stick out of her butt now that she’s a two time mother. If this article is accurate, and it probably is, I’m somewhat surprised to hear that she’s still as much of a pain in the ass as ever. According to a source on set quoted in the Enquirer, Nicole won’t even let crew members talk to her.

Nicole’s career is floundering. The last movie she was in was was that Trespass clunker with Nicolas Cage. So you would think she’d tone it down a little now that she’s no longer a huge star. Not so much, old habits die hard. They’re even filming in her current town and she can’t manage to be civil to the people she relies on.
Nicole’s husband, country singer and fellow Aussie Keith Urban, has just signed on to be a judge and mentor on the Australian version of The Voice. Urban lost his own voice temporarily after undergoing surgery for a vocal cord polyp. Polyps are common in singers and Urban is expected to make a complete recovery.

Nicole Kidman?s lips are attacking the world. I swear, the lip injections are getting out of control. What?s worse is, like Botox, lip injections are something you have to maintain, correct? Like you have to go in once a month and get your lips re-inflated. So Nicole Kidman makes a conscious choice, month after month after month to not only have a forehead that resembled marble, but to get THAT done to her lips. Rough.
But her body looked good. And I really do like this Jean Paul Gaultier gown, even though it looks heavy as hell and she sort of resembled a steel beam. Maybe that was the look she was going for? ?I want to look like an embellished steel beam. With inflated lips!? Yes, Ms. Kidman.
By the way, Nicole?s lips aren?t just content to attack from cushiony positions in America and Australia. No, Nicole is going to India. Allegedly, maybe. She?s in talks to star in Rumi Jaffery’s Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai, in a role that was originally offered to Shakira. This is what happened the last time Nicole tried to ?go Bollywood?:

Getting to work on their new film, Nicole Kidman and John Cusack were spotted on the New Orleans set of ?The Paperboy.?
The ?Australia? actress rocked a bleached blond hairdo and a tight green dress while the ?2012? actor donned a paisley shirt and khaki pants as they plugged away at their scenes.
As for the film, ?The Paperboy,? the plot revolves around a reporter who returns to his Florida hometown to investigate a case involving a death row inmate.
The thriller also stars Matthew McConaughey and Zac Efron and is set for a 2012 release.

Enjoying an evening out, Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban attended the Cinema Society screening of "Snow Flower and The Secret Fan held" at the Tribeca Grand Hotel in New York City Wednesday night (July 13).
The 44-year-old actress, who looked absolutely radiant in a red cocktail dress by Elie Saab, was all smiles and she and hubby Keith rubbed elbows with the film's producer Wendi Murdoch and star Li Bing Bing.
The film, which is set in 19th century China, centers on the lifelong friendship between two girls who develop their own secret code as a way to cope with the cultural oppression they are faced with as women.
The Big Apple event was hosted by Donald's ex, Ivanka Trump, and fashion icon Diane Von Furstenerg.

Catching an outbound flight, Nicole Kidman was spotted at LAX International Airport yesterday afternoon (July 10).
The ?Moulin Rouge? actress was joined by her daughters Sunday Rose and Faith as she strolled past shutterbugs and made her way through the terminal.
On Saturday night (July 9), Nicole looked ravishing in an Elie Saab gown as she attended the BAFTA Brits to Watch Gala.
Earlier in the week, Ms. Kidman was back in her homeland of Australia along with the rest of her family.
