| Nicole Kidman in Chanel at the Cannes amfAR gala: unflattering or cute? | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The annual Cannes Film Festival amfAR gala is always a pretty big deal. Most of the celebrities who come to Cannes for the early days end up staying for longer specifically because they want to attend the gala, to it has become arguably the biggest event at Cannes. It might even be the biggest amfAR gala of the year (amfAR hosts several galas in different cities every year, but they always do one at Cannes). So, here are some photos from last night?s Cannes amfAR gala.
Nicole Kidman has been everywhere this year, and she?s been everywhere in Cannes. I?ve mostly enjoyed her dresses but her hair has been struggling. Her amfAR look might be the worst though. Did you expect Kidman to show up in this terrible Chanel dress with a too-tight top-knot? Ugh. This is a big nope.
Lara Stone in Chanel. Sadly, this could have been incredibly cute, but Karl Lagerfeld hates women and hates women with breasts, so he made Lara?s boobs look incredibly sad. The way this is cut in the bust is unacceptable and the belt just adds to the discomfort. If they had gotten it right, it would have been adorable.
Rita Ora also wore Chanel. I?m trying to work out my feelings on this one, because on one side, I think she looks sort of adorable. On the other side, I don?t think she looks like herself at all. I like that she doesn?t have one go-to ?look? and it?s fun to change things up, but the other side of that is that? I?m having issues recognizing her. Someone like Cate Blanchett can change up her style and look from carpet to carpet, but Cate always fundamentally looks like herself. Rita Ora does not.
Diane Kruger wore Alexander McQueen Fall 2017. When I first saw photos of this look, I thought it was just a boring dress. But it turns out this look involves pants!! So I?m in. I love a gala look that involves palazzo pants.

| Nicole Kidman in Armani at Cannes anniversary event: stunning or basic? | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Last night, the Cannes Film Festival did a HUGE 70th anniversary event, and basically every major star who was anywhere near France came out for it. There are tons of good fashion photos, so we?re spreading out the pics into a few posts. This is Nicole Kidman in Armani Prive. Something nice: I?ve enjoyed how Nicole hasn?t just stuck with one designer. She?s been wearing a variety of stuff and everything looks very different, from slinky Versaces to ballerina Calvin Kleins to ruffled Diors. This Armani gown isn?t what I would have chosen for her, but it?s not bad. The worst thing I can say is that Kidman?s hair has been struggling throughout the film festival. It should not be this hard, Nic!
Marion Cotillard also wore Armani, like Kidman. This is maybe the most va-va-voom I?ve ever seen her look. Damn, she looks amazing.
?What would Beyonce look like if she tried a Hasidic Jewish hairstyle?? is what Rita Ora asked herself Tuesday morning. I swear, when I first saw these photos, I was like ?damn, what happened to Beyonce?? Nothing happened to Beyonce. Rita is just cosplaying Bey.
Elle Fanning in Dior Spring 2017 Haute Couture. Now, THIS is perfect on Elle. Very girlish and delicate and sweet.

Tilda Swinton wore Chanel. I was so bored by this until I realized that it was a jumpsuit, and now I love it. This is very elegant!

If there?s a theme in this post, it?s ?bad hair.? Uma Thurman wore Pink Prada and it looks like something Gwyneth Paltrow would attempt. I don?t completely loathe it, but her hair is not good.

| Nicole Kidman in Calvin Klein tulle explosion in Cannes: ugh or amazing? | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from last night?s Cannes Film Festival premiere of The Killing of a Sacred Deer, one of the many Nicole Kidman films premiering at the film festival. At first, I only saw photos of Nicole from the waist up, and I was like, ?Ooo, this is gonna be good!? Then I was like, ?what?s that white thing blocking the view of Nicole?s skirt?? Oh, right. The white thing IS Nicole?s skirt. GIANT SIGH.
This look is Calvin Klein and I don?t really understand why this exists and why Kidman chose it. It reminds me very much of something Carrie Bradshaw would have worn in the year 2000, or something Sarah Jessica Parker would have worn to the Emmys in 2001. That ballerina look is just so? difficult to pull off. And I just don?t get why there?s bright white tulle paired with a classic black top. I?m not into it. What I am into? Colin Farrell looking like a friggin? movie star in these photos. Yowza!
More photos? Eva Longoria in Marchesa. Like, Eva isn?t the It Girl anymore, but surely she has better access than this? She could easily find another non-Marchesa gown which could easily be more flattering than this.

Kristin Scott Thomas, looking incredibly in this vibrant Pink Schiaparelli. I would not have chosen this for her, but she looks amazing.

Andie MacDowell in Roberto Cavalli. One, she?s 59 YEARS OLD. Two, her cheekbones are FIRE. Like, we should all be so lucky to have this kind of bone structure.

Jourdan Dunn in Elie Saab. She?s beautiful but this dress SUCKS.

| Nicole Kidman's woodland-creature McQueen at the ACMs: adorable or odd' | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards were held in Las Vegas last night. Considering the absolutely insane lull in gossip for the past few weeks, I was really hoping that the ACMs would bring some old-fashioned country music drama. But from what I can see? there wasn?t much drama? Even the fashion was underwhelming, although I?m still going to stretch out these photos into two posts. You can see the list of ACM winners here.
One of the big red carpet moments was Nicole Kidman arriving with her husband Keith Urban. First, a word about Keith Urban: the couple who Botoxes together, stays together. And Urban?s lifts are next-level! As for Kidman?s style? she wore head-to-toe Alexander McQueen. I find this dress to be very fussy. It?s not like this would be better on someone else, or maybe better in a different color. It?s just a very odd design. She literally has a little fox on one boob and an owl on the other boob. It?s very? unusual. I love her earrings though.
Kelsea Ballerini wore a green Monique Lhuillier gown. I like that it?s something different, but I think the two-tone look makes this seem almost childish? It would have been a more mature look if it was all one color. I don?t know? she looks like someone?s 13-year-old little sister was roped into being a bridesmaid.
Here?s Luke Bryan and his wife. She?s very pretty, but she?s very, very orange.
Here?s Dierks Bentley and Cassidy Black. I?m not into him at all. Weirdly, I find Luke Bryan to be WAY hotter.

| Nicole Kidman apparently claps like a madwoman, or the Grinch | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I find it odd sometimes to see what catches fire on social media. This is a prime example! I thought everything about Nicole Kidman was rather blah at the Oscars, from her nothingburger Armani gown to her fried hair to her overly groomed husband. But Nicole did something at the Oscars which ended up becoming a major thing. She clapped. She clapped like a crazy person. During one of the standing ovations – I think the early one for Meryl Streep? – the camera cut to Nicole clapping like a madwoman.
Why does Nicole Kidman clap like The Grinch?! pic.twitter.com/dhzN7Og8xC

| Nicole Kidman in Altuzarra at the 'Big Little Lies' premiere: cute or meh' | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from the big premiere event for HBO?s Big Little Lies, a miniseries produced by Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon. What I love about this miniseries already is that the men are mostly peripheral – while most of the female characters are married, the story centers around interpersonal relationships between women. The red carpet reflected that too. Anyway, let?s talk about fashion! Nicole wore this Altuzarra Spring 2017 dress which? is not the best and not the worst. I?ve been saying for months that Kidman?s style has been all over the place, and this is another example. It?s a perfectly okay dress, but it feels like she?s been picking out her red carpet fashions at the very last minute for every event.
Reese Witherspoon wore a cute little Elie Saab cocktail dress. I enjoy this. Reese?s date was her (TALL!) daughter Ava.
Shailene Woodley also wore Elie Saab. This is flattering, simple and well-tailored. I?m surprised by how much I like this on her.
Zo Kravitz in Vera Wang. I?m okay with this – it seems beachy and comfortable – but I really don?t understand the blonde hair.
Laura Dern in Vivienne Westwood. I love Westwood?s designs, but this just seems? bad? It looks like it was made for a shorter woman and it looks half-finished. I doubt the skirt is supposed to look like that too.

| Nicole Kidman in beaded Marchesa at the DGA Awards: boring or beautiful? | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from this weekend?s Directors Guild Awards, held on Saturday night in LA. As everyone says, the guild awards are often the best indicators of where the Oscar races stand, so I?m pretty disappointed that Damien Chazelle won the top DGA Award for La La Land. He won over Barry Jenkins for Moonlight. Ugh. Why does Hollywood love La La Land so much??? Anyway, you can read more about the awards here.
Nicole Kidman is back to her Miss Havisham styles in this antique-looking Marchesa dress. Seriously, what happened to Nicole? It wasn?t that long ago when she was always the best-dressed woman on any red carpet. I know she loves fashion, so why is she so wacky these days? While this Marchesa isn?t the worst, let?s be clear: Nicole Kidman deserves better.
Laverne Cox in Thai Nguyen Atelier. So glam! She was having fun with this dress and she really stood out in this deep green.
Kerry Washington in Sally LaPointe. Sexy dress but bad hair. I really liked the straight, glossy look she had at the SAGs and I kind of wish she would stick to that for a while.
Amy Adams in what looks like a dress for a summer picnic. I guess Amy was like, ?I don?t have to get glam anymore, it?s not like I was nominated for an Oscar.? It?s not that this is bad per se, but it just doesn?t seem like she was dressed for the same event as everyone else?
Helen Mirren in what looks like a really comfy sweater and cute skirt. This is what I would wear to an event like this. Just like, ?F–k it, I?m going to wear a sweater.?
There are no full-length photos of Emma Stone in this sparkly Louis Vuitton dress, mostly because she didn?t walk the carpet, she was only there for Damien. She probably didn?t walk the carpet because she believes (correctly) that she pretty much has Best Actress in the bag. Anyway, I like this dress and I wish we could have seen more of it.

| Nicole Kidman in shiny green Gucci at the SAGs: ridiculous or fun? | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?ve gotten so used to Nicole Kidman?s messy Miss Havisham styles that I don?t know how to react when she actually wears something different. And this Gucci was absolutely ?different.? Nicole wore this super-shiny and very green Gucci to the SAGs last night. I think she knows that she?s not going to win anything and she?s just having fun and wearing weird and interesting stuff? But she looks like she went to Gucci and she said, ?You know the snake emoji? Make me a dress that looks like that.? Gucci should have saved this for Taylor Swift.
I loved Janelle Monae in Moonlight and I know I?ll love her in Hidden Figures too. But her ?commitment? to wearing only black, white and grey is getting to be so boring, especially when it feels like she?s still stuck in the music industry at times, you know? Like, she wears costumes not clothes. This Chanel had a similar feel – too costume-y, too grey, too much. I think the cuffs were the worst part.
Millie Bobby Brown doesn?t really fit in this post of fashion messes, but I?ll throw her in anyway. She wore a custom Armani, and she said that the designers at Armani sketched it for her. While I love that the Stranger Things kids are having so much fun, I?m also really uncomfortable with how ?adult? Millie tries to be.

| Nicole Kidman in McQueen: one of the worst looks of the Golden Globes? | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Nicole Kidman was nominated for a Golden Globe for Lion. She?s probably going to be the only actor from that film nominated for an Oscar. Nicole LOVES to campaign for an Oscar. She loves it. I suspect she loves it because she loves a good fashion show throughout the awards season, but the days where Kidman ruled the red carpet are long over. This McQueen gown was easily one of the worst of the night. Everything about this look was terrible, from her fried, too-light hair, to that fug dress, to her marble-like forehead. Nicole, please change this mess.
Gal Gadot in Mugler. I was disappointed in this, even though I?m pretty sure she didn?t have a ton of options in maternity wear.
People were losing their minds about Naomie Harris in this custom Armani like Cate Blanchett had just dropped the fashion-mic. And all I can say is? really? Naomie is pretty and she?s great in Moonlight, but this dress is not all that.
Teresa Palmer in Armani. I sort of liked this? She didn?t get a lot of love on the red carpet, but this was lovely.
Janelle Monae in Armani. I wasn?t feeling it. I like her a lot, but I?m really tired of her black & white dressing, and God help me but I?ll never love a mullet dress. This is an okay mullet dress, to be fair. But I?m still not a fan.

| Nicole Kidman in Dior at the Palm Springs Film Festival: jacked or lovely? | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
The Palm Springs Film Festival started last night with their annual awards gala. I genuinely enjoy covering the Palm Springs Film Festival stuff ? all of the celebrities make their way to Palm Springs to be honored in somewhat low-key ways ahead of the Golden Globes (this Sunday!). They do Q&A sessions, screenings and roundtable interviews and generally, Palm Springs seems like one of the nicer stops on an actor?s Oscar campaign. Anyway, these are some photos from last night?s awards gala, which was well-attended with A-listers and Oscar campaigners.
First off, we have Nicole Kidman in this Dior gown. She?s so pale, and she loves pale clothes. Which irritates me a little bit. I think I would have liked this gown better on someone with different coloring (and someone with a face that is less jacked, frankly). There?s also a rumor going around the Aussie tabloids that Nicole and Keith Urban had some kind of huge fight on the red carpet of the Sydney premiere of Lion, and it?s notable (to me) that Keith was not in attendance last night. Nicole is almost certainly going to get an Oscar nomination (for supporting actress) for Lion. I hope Dev Patel gets nominated too.
Natalie Portman also wore Dior? this is a perfectly nice maternity gown. It makes me wonder if Dior was saving their best maternity looks for Portman, and poor Marion Cotillard had to fend for herself.
Ruth Negga in Valentino Spring 2017. She?s beautiful and I?m okay with this gown. She?s been wearing a lot of Valentino during her campaign and I?m not sure that?s the best collaboration for her.
Amy Adams in Altuzarra Pre-Fall 2017. I liked this from a distance but looking closer at the gown sort of ruins it.
Janelle Mone in Jenny Packham Spring 2017. This doesn?t look like Packham to me, but it?s pretty. She?s really pretty too.
Kirsten Dunst in a custom Ralph & Russo gown. I think this is really beautiful.
