Bundled up to protect against the chilly London air, Nicole Kidman filmed, "Before I Go to Sleep" in England on Tuesday (April 2).
The "Others" star wore a long gray wool coat, black gloves, and a Pink scarf as she shuddered from the brisk weather.
Written and directed by Rowan Joffe, the movie tells the tale of a woman who wakes up every day remembering nothing as a result of a traumatic accident.
Joining the Aussie actress in the thriller are Mark Strong and Colin Firth. Look for "Before I Go to Sleep" in theaters in 2014.

| Nicole Kidman in black & white Oscar de la Renta in Vienna: lovely or boring? | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos of Nicole Kidman in Vienna, Austria over the weekend. Nicole is one of the faces of Omega, and she did some press events and a red carpet launch on behalf of the Omega Ladymatic Watch. Does anyone else thing ?Ladymatic? is a hilarious word? I?m sorry, I just got caught on that. Ladymatic. Ladymatic Biscuit. Ladymatic Fassmatic. Ladymatic Dongporium. OOOOooo. That will be the name of my male escort business!! Kaiser?s Ladymatic Dongporium!!
Anyhoodle, I just wanted to post these photos of Nicole?s red carpet gown because I think this is the prettiest she?s looked in a while. Yes, her face is still jacked (I can?t?) and yes her lips are ridiculous (they?re Kardashian-esque). But this dress is amazing! And you know I?m not even a fan of these delicate lace-like confections. Most of the time, when ladies wear these kinds of gowns, I think they look much too precious and old-lady-ish. But this Oscar de la Renta gown is fantastic and it looks great on Nicole. She accessorized the gown with a Roger Vivier clutch and the Omega Ladymatic!
You can see more photos of Nicole in Vienna here at The Mail. Quick question: in the photos where she?s wearing white, is she wearing a wig? Her hair looks? different. Odd.

| Nicole Kidman v. Naomi Watts: who had the best metallic gown at the Oscars? | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Metallics were a big trend at last night?s Oscars, and I?m including some of the best examples of the darker metallics in this post. I see a lot of people loved Best Actress nominee Naomi Watts? asymmetrical Armani Prive gown, but I just wasn?t into it. Her body looked beautiful, I liked her hair, jewelry and makeup and I love that she seems to be aging naturally. I also loved the color ? like a pewter-blue metallic. But I just didn?t love the design of the dress. It feels like the kind of gown that Cate Blanchett ? and ONLY La Blanchett ? could really rock. On Naomi, it just seemed? ?off?. I would have liked it better (on her) if it had a symmetrical design on top.
Nicole Kidman wore L?Wren Scott, a designer which Nicole has been wearing a lot of lately. I?ll admit it ? I really liked this gown when I saw it in motion on the red carpet, but the still photos are leaving me cold. The gold swirls at the bottom are amazing, but now that I?m really looking at it? the gown is too small. Nicole stuffed her bolt-ons into it. And while I love that Nicole seemed ?looser? on the red carpet, her hair was WAY too loose. She had some of the worst hair on the red carpet (along with Aniston).
And here?s poor Stacy Keibler in Naeem Khan, with her Oscar date George Clooney. They did not rule over the red carpet or the ceremony, which was nice. It was like George was making the effort to not overshadow Ben Affleck. I didn?t really get Stacy?s whole ?flapper? styling though. Did the dress really call for it? Not really. So, while I kind of liked the dress, I thought the styling ruined it. PS? Does anyone else think she looks like Giuliana Rancic?

| Nicole Kidman in turtlenecked L?Wren Scott in London: unflattering or great? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

These are some photos from last night?s London screening of Nicole Kidman?s new movie, Stoker. I previewed the film last year when the first trailer came out ? Nicole seems to be doing a character role as ?the unstable mother? in a creepy horror/suspense film starring Mia Wasikowska in the lead role (Mia plays Nicole?s daughter). Matthew Goode is also in the film, and all three actors showed up for the first screening, which is evidence that they?re all proud of the film I think. Here?s the latest trailer? God, this looks so creepy.
First, let?s talk about Nicole. She wore L?Wren Scott, one of her favorite designers (and mine), and I kind of hate it. No, that?s a strong word. I don?t hate it. I just don?t like it on Nicole. The gold turtleneck part is weird/confusing. And I?m not sure about the shade of blue. But, like all L?Wren pieces, at least the tailoring is stellar, right?
Meanwhile, we need to have a conversation about Mia. We rarely talk about her because really I don?t have much to say other than? she?s incredibly talented and she doesn?t seem to do anything scandalous or gossip-worthy. She?s not campaigning for anything, she?s not partying like crazy, she?s not boning every costar (that we know of). She keeps her nose clean and she?s adorable and talented. But? BANGS. Itty-bitty bangs trauma is the worse. Believe it or not, I don?t believe ?bangs trauma? is a binary state. There are stages of bangs trauma, and this movement for itty-bitty, too-high bangs is one of the WORST. For me, it?s worse than the shaggy-dog, too-long, covering-the-eyes bangs trauma. I think girls who do these bangs look like alien Spocks. Mia?s dress is Christopher Kane, by the way. It?s blah. Also: Bonus Matthew Goode! He?s so handsome, but he?s such a douche.

| Nicole Kidman in gold Vera Wang at the Grammys: simple & pretty? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Is it weird that I think Nicole Kidman actually gets a kick out of coming to these music awards shows with her husband? She?s done the red carpet and awards-show circuit so many times in Hollywood, it must be relaxing for her to come to the Grammys where there?s no pressure, and she just gets to sit around and sing along to her favorite music. That must be why she always comes to the Grammys (and all of the country music awards shows) ? she actually likes being there. And it shows! Nicole looked very relaxed (for her!) in this sparkly gold Vera Wang gown. I?ve been bitching about the whole ?half-unlined gown skirt? thing for a few months now, but I actually think this is okay on Nicole. She has great legs, and it?s the Grammys. It?s acceptable, and I always love her in gold. One complaint: the middle-part. Blah.
Here?s Carrie Underwood in Roberto Cavalli. She looks like a pageant girl. Always. Forever. Too much makeup, big blonde hair, fake smile. I would have liked the dress more if it wasn?t two pageant-y black gowns fighting to live together. Either make the whole gown like the bodice, or make the whole gown that lacy stuff.
Natasha Bedingfield in EMERSON by Jackie Fraser-Swan gown from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection. HATE IT. That?s not some weird beige fabric at her waist either ? that?s her actual flesh. For that alone, I hate it.

| Nicole Kidman in Vivienne Westwood at the SAGs: the best look of the night? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Nicole Kidman was a double-loser last night. She was nominated for Supporting Female Actor for The Paperboy (she lost to Anne Hathaway) and for Female Actor in a TV Movie (she lost to Julianne Moore). The one category which I?m really happy about is the TV Movie one ? Nicole just looked flat-out awful (as in, crazy Botox-face and lip injections) in Hemingway & Gellhorn, and Julianne Moore killed it in Game Change, so I?m glad that Nicole keeps on having to eat it when Julianne wins. What?s nice is that I think Nicole has acknowledged to herself that she?s going to lose, because she actually looked like she was having fun last night. She sat with Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber and she just seemed happy and ?loose?.
As for how she looked ? during the Golden Globes weekend, her face looked kind of crazy, but I actually thought ?the freeze? looked a bit looser and ?un-frozen? a little bit. The haircut helped ? I think she was going for a blunt-cut, rock n? roll style, but it looked kind of stringy at times. Her Vivienne Westwood gown was the bomb, though. It was one of my favorite dresses of the night. Beautiful color, great fit, lovely design. It suited her too.
Naomi Watts wore this totally boring Marchesa wedding dress. Right? There was nothing special about this dress at all, and there was nothing about to differentiate it from a wedding gown. She?s a beautiful woman, and I love that she doesn?t look ?worked on? but I expect more from her, style-wise. I guess the nicest thing I can say is that for Marchesa, at least it?s not actively awful, you know? It?s just nondescript, boring and bridal.
In my mind, Kerry Washington regrets getting bangs. In my mind, she?s still trying to figure out how to do her hair because she realizes she made a huge mistake by chopping her hair and getting those awful bangs trauma. Thus, she side-swept them and tried to make the best of it. But I can still see them, and they haunt me. As for her dress ? Miu Miu. Eh. Much like Naomi, I expect more from Kerry, and I expect her not to wear a damn wedding dress. She has a great eye and she?s unafraid to try different looks, but this just looks like a re-worked doily and tablecloth.

| Nicole Kidman on Connor & Isabella's CO$ devotion: 'I utterly respect their beliefs' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Nicole Kidman appears in the latest (Jan 23) print edtion of The Hollywood Reporter to promote Stoker and its upcoming Sundance premiere. This interview is actually kind of juicy and dovetails with the release of NYT writer Lawrence Wright’s Scientology expos, Going Clear, which arrives in stores … tomorrow! If you’re interested in a preview, the Daily Beast is running 15 (mostly new) revelations from the book.
Nicole’s relevance to Wright’s book, of course, has to do with her 12-year-old divorce from Tom Cruise. According to well-documented sources, Celebrity Centre boss Tommy Davis (who has recently blown the cult, btw), held weekly, post-divorce sessions with Tom and Isabella Cruise. In these audits/information dumps/brainwashing sessions, Davis labelled Nicole a Suppressive Person and reportedly informed Nicole and Tom’s children that their mother was a sociopath who was not to be trusted. In this piece, Nicole finally says something about her estranged state with her eldest two children, and you can easily tell that she doesn’t blame them at all because she knows the drill. So sad. On a lighter note, she also discusses peeing on Zac Efron. Here are some excerpts:
Peeing on Zac Efron in The Paperboy: “I just don’t find urination shocking,” Kidman declares matter-of-factly. “I think I peed in the beginning of Eyes Wide Shut, too. But then, I don’t find a lot of things shocking! Violence is a lot more shocking than sex — sex is primal. Lee [Daniels, director of The Paperboy] had an obsession about shooting me from behind — he was obsessed with my ass! To me, that was so funny. He’s hilarious, I love him. I’m drawn to Lee for his wild nature. I felt shy singing in Moulin Rouge! But peeing — no, not shy.”
Journo mentions that her Cruise divorce happened because of CO$: “I’ll bet it is. My eye is going to a dress here — that’s how interested I am in this.” When pressed, she’ll say only: “I’ve chosen not to speak publicly about Scientology. I have two children [adopted with Cruise] who are Scientologists — Connor and Isabella — and I utterly respect their beliefs.”
On her recent career decisions: “I try to go places I’m terrified of,” she says. “It makes you more compassionate. The journey of life is hard; you’re always waiting for the cannonball to come and hit you. I do develop very powerful relationships with most of my directors,” admits Kidman. “Gus Van Sant changed my career with To Die For. I’ll definitely work with Lars von Trier again. And [The Hours director] Stephen Daldry is like a soulmate. He was so kind to me when I was pregnant, even when I couldn’t do The Reader. It’s not the size of the role I care about, it’s the subject matter here: torture and the human soul.”
She’s a traditional gal: “I’m just a nice Southern girl. It’s such an easy lifestyle. And it’s more diverse than you’d expect. There’s so much great music. The Black Keys go jogging past the restaurant Keith and I go to. We’ll hang out with Jack White in the studio. And there’s music in our house all the time — Keith plays harmonica, drums, banjo, piano and bass guitar. He has a strong will about his career, and so do I. We want each other to thrive and do what we love, and we never interfere in the other’s career choices.”
On the future: “I really want to do Chekhov in Russian. I know my choices are erratic and unpredictable, and there’s no rhyme or reason. I want to be spontaneous. I love subtext. Subtext is what’s interesting — in Ibsen, in Chekhov, in all the great literature. The sound of Russian gives it such gravitas. It’s a very difficult language. It’s always been my dream to perform Chekhov in Russian. And don’t be surprised when I do it.”
She wants to be an indie queen: “My heart is independent. I come from Australia, I was trained in indie movies. It’s an unconscious decision — it’s who I am. As an actor, you live and die by your choices. I don’t associate with mainstream films anymore. I don’t do so well in them, either. I guess I have a foot in both worlds. I’ve been offered some studio films this year and turned them down. They just didn’t align with who I am. I actually don’t even know what a movie star is now — what is a movie star? When the best female part of the year is Claire Danes in ‘Homeland,’ you know the game’s changed. Maybe in the ’50s, there was a far more particular idea for a movie star. But now that’s all blurry — everything’s more fluid.”
[From Hollywood Reporter]
Oh, Nicole. I feel so much for her in regard to Isabella and Connor’s unfortunate rejection of her “suppressive person” self. Although the timing is strange with the reporter pushing for Nic’s response in regard to Scientology’s involvement in her divorce from Tom Cruise. It’s been over a decade since Tom tore up her contract, and certainly, her publicists have been very conscientious about shutting down potential inquiries until now. So what gives? I am assuming that the journalist was informed that he could ask questions about the CO$, but that Nicole might be dicey in response. I guess this is progress from her former radio silence, right? At least we now have concrete evidence (from her answers) that she feels quite abrasive about the cult despite paying positive lipservice to her estranged children.
Also, I can’t help but wonder if Nicole’s fresh embrace of indie movies might have something to do with her blockbuster-centered ex, Tom Cruise? He’d rather die than go indie. Then again, Nicole has had some really big recent studio failures, including The Golden Compass and The Invasion, the latter of which only brought in $15 million against a $80 million budget. Ouch.
