A lady in the sense that she’s wearing underwear. Nicole Kidman had a little trouble keeping her panties out of sight while getting out of a car for a photocall in Cannes. This coupled with the premiere of that movie where she pees on Zac Efron could make this her best year yet!

| Nicole Kidman and a muttonchopped Clive Owen in Cannes: sexy or awful? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I didn?t know Clive Owen and Nicole Kidman would be promoting their HBO film, Hemingway & Gellhorn, at the Cannes Film Festival. But here they are at a photo call today – I?m guessing the film won?t have a big premiere? Probably just a screening. Anyway, I need to ignore Nicole for a moment and focus on Clive Owen?s MUTTONCHOPS. When does a sideburn become a muttonchop? This is the example that should be used. Granted, Clive is rocking his muttons for a film - Blood Ties. I think Mila Kunis plays his love interest, which is kind of gross (to me) because of the age difference. I?m also assuming Blood Ties is a period film – 1970s? Sure.
Beyond L?Mutton, I guess Clive looks alright. He no longer has that eerie beauty of his youth, but I get the feeling that if he tried, if he got a haircut and took off the muttonchops, he would still be a very handsome man. I kind of hate the way he looks at Nicole. Clive just? smolders. Right? Do not smolder at Nicole, Clive!!
As for Nicole? I?m still searching for the designer ID. I actually love this dress because it?s a great silhouette for her, it?s not the kind of dress she usually wears, and I love a good graphic print. However? I don?t think her hair is doing her any favors here. And her face looks? well, she looks tired. Let?s say it that way. She had a busy day yesterday promoting The Paperboy, so maybe she?s just genuinely exhausted.

Kicking off another day at the 65th Cannes Film Festival, Nicole Kidman and Nicole Kidman were spotted at a photocall for ?Hemingway & Gellhorn? this morning (May 25).
The ?Moulin Rouge? babe and the ?Children of Men? stud showed up at the festival to pose with director Philip Kaufman for their project, which was being presented out of competition.
Per the synopsis, ?Hemingway & Gellhorn? is ?a drama centered on the romance between Ernest Hemingway and WWII correspondent Martha Gellhorn, Hemingway's inspiration for For Whom the Bell Tolls and the only woman who ever asked for a divorce from the writer.?
Yesterday (May 24), Nicole was busy looking beautiful opposite Zac Efron at the Cannes premiere of ?The Paperboy.?

These are some just-released photos of this evening?s Cannes Film Festival premiere of The Paperboy, starring Nicole Kidman, John Cusack, Zac Efron and Matthew McConaughey. I already covered today?s earlier photo call here. For the premiere, Nicole wore this? raspberry (?) Lanvin gown. I?m usually not big on Lanvin – I think the label is so overrated – but this is a lovely dress, and it looks great on Nicole. It?s a much better color for her than that orange-red earlier to day. I?m also loving her hairstyle here – I love a loose updo. My one complaint? I really feel like Nicole tweaked her nips before walking the red carpet. Either that, or it?s really cold in Cannes?
Incidentally, the early reviews of The Paperboy have been BRUTAL. Most critics think it?s a POS, and Nicole Kidman is a total hot mess in it. Vulture carried a spoiler-filled piece about one particular scene in the film – apparently, Zac Efron gets tung by a jellyfish and Nicole?s character urinates all over his chest. And Nicole is actually doing it, for real, on screen. You can read the Vulture piece here.
More photos – Nicole?s Botox-face looks better in these pics. The back of her dress is really cool too – that backstrap thing is nice. John Cusack looks like hell. Zac Efron looks 14 years old.

Kicking off the day with a promotional appearance, Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron were spotted at a photocall for their new film ?The Paperboy? in Cannes, France this morning (May 24).
The ?Eyes Wide Shut? actress and her ?High School Musical? costar looked fabulous as they posed for pictures with John Cusack, Matthew McConaughey, and director Lee Daniels.
In a recent interview, Nicole explained that when ?The Paperboy? script came across her desk, she was glad as she was looking for ?something raw and more dangerous.?
Kidman noted, ?I had seen Precious and I thought it was amazing and I wanted to work with [Lee Daniels].?

| Nicole Kidman in orange-red Antonio Berardi in Cannes: Botoxy or beautiful? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Nicole Kidman arrived in Cannes a few days ago, even though her promotional work for The Paperboy didn?t start until today. I guess Nicole just wanted to party and schmooze in the South of France. Maybe she?s hoping to soak up the vibe considering she?s going to be playing Princess Grace of Monaco. The photos of Nicole in the orange-red Antonio Berardi Fall 2012 are from today?s photo call for The Paperboy. Thoughts on Nicole?s dress? I like that she went with a bold color, although I?m not crazy about this particular bold color. The cut and design of the dress is solid, and the tailoring is lovely. My only real complaint is the color, actually.
Also in attendance at the photo call: Lee Daniels (the director), Zac Efron, John Cusack, Matthew McConaughey and Macy Gray.
A few more things about Nicole. One, her Botox-face is still, as ever, ridiculous. I don?t think her forehead or eyebrows moved a centimeter once during the photo call. And her lips- still ridiculous. But really, let?s talk about Nicole?s boobs. I?ve long claimed that shortly after Nicole gave birth to Sunday Rose, she got some implants. I actually have an eloborate conspiracy theory involving Nicole?s bolt-ons, but we don?t need to get into that right now. Let?s just say that there has been photo evidence in the past that indicates to me that Nicole?s tatas are not all real. I believe she got something done, and while I appreciated that she kept them smaller (they look fine on her frame), I?m now wondering if she went back to the surgeon?s office and got some even bigger implants. We?ve gotten emails about this too, and CB and I spent way too much time last night inspecting Nicole?s rack like boob scientists. To the boob laboratory!!!
More photos of Nicole last night in Cannes (her bolt-ons are even more noticeable here).

| Nicole Kidman arrives in France, debuts new bangsy hairstyle: cute or awful? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

These are photos of Nicole Kidman arriving in the South of France yesterday. Her new film, The Paperboy, debuts at the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday, and I?m expecting more photos of Nicole throughout the next few days. The Paperboy also stars Zac Efron, which? I mean? really? Nicole the Botox-Monster and Zac Efron, Permanent Jailbait (yes, I know he?s of age but his face always says ?jailbait? to me). The film is being described in some quarters as an ?explosive sexual thriller?. I tried reading the (spoiler-ridden) Wiki synopsis of the book, but I got kind of confused as to who does what. Oh, and the film also stars Matthew McConaughey and John Cusack. Maybe Nicole gets it on with one of them (hopefully?).
But for now, let?s talk about Nicole?s new look. And by that I mean BANGS. I?ve been confused before with some ladies? bangs – I have a hard time figuring out if some women are wearing clip-on bangs or if they actually chopped their hair into some kind of traumatic situation. I don?t know what Nicole is doing, but I suspect this is her real hair and she really did give herself bangs. Now, Nicole has done bangs to varying degrees of success in the past – the best of which (in my opinion) was back when she was styling herself like Brigitte Bardot, and the bangs added to her kittenishness.
This current look, however, is kind of? not all that. I realize that she probably just got off the plane, etc. But how are these limp, flat-ironed-looking bangs somehow preferable to a simple bun or ponytail? And I don?t even want to talk about her lips anymore. Those slugs are so depressing. I swear, they are as bad as Lindsay Lohan?s.

Making her arrival in the South of France, Nicole Kidman was spotted at the Nice Airport earlier today (May 22).
The ?Moulin Rouge? actress looked to be in good spirits as she strolled outside, en route to the 65th Cannes Film Festival.
In a recent interview, Nicole explained her passion for her craft- "I think I still like getting lost in somebody else's world.?
"It's just very rewarding. I don't work as much now because I have a 2-year-old and a 3-year-old that require an enormous amount of time to raise them properly and to be there. So when I go and work, I've got to really feel it. I've got to feel the desire to tell the story."

| Nicole Kidman and Faith Margaret cover Harper's Bazaar Australia: gorgeous' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Oooooh. Nicole Kidman covers the June issue of Harper?s Bazaar Australia, and this is the cover. That?s little 18-month-old Faith in Nicole?s arms. Isn?t this a beautiful shot? I think so. Yes, Nicole is a Botox-monster who needs to STOP with the lip injections, but every now and then we can see a glimpse of the old Nicole, and how Nicole would look if she gave up her love affair with the Botox needle. This is one of those times. Plus, I just love all of the ginger. Nicole?s ginger, Faith?s ginger, it?s all beautiful. Incidentally, I love the way it seems like Nicole has chopped off her hair. Wouldn?t you love her hair so much if she cut it off and it looked like this? With regards to the cover line – I?m assuming it?s in reference to Nicole?s casting as 33-year-old Grace Kelly in Grace of Monaco.
The editor of HB Australia talks about how the cover shot came to be:
Truth, beauty, family. Editor Edwina McCann gets to know the real Nicole Kidman on location at BAZAAR’s August cover shoot.
Nicole Kidman is no stranger to criticism. She faced plenty after the birth in December 2010 of Faith Margaret, a much-yearned for sister for Sunday Rose. Faith was famously born with the help of a ?gestational carrier? as is the common term in the US. No doubt there will be those who throw yet more criticism at her for allowing her children to feature in photos in this month?s Harper?s BAZAAR. So I wanted to explain what happened behind the scenes.
Kidman was booked for our cover shoot with a young Australian photographer and regular BAZAAR contributor, Will Davidson. The shoot took place a few hours out of Sydney in a country home with a perfect red dirt road, as envisioned by Davidson. Kidman arrived on time, without entourage, and even spotted the crew not a coffee but a coffee van ? ?my treat? ? when she was told the cost was beyond the shoot budget. She was a willing photographic subject, talked to me in an unguarded and genuinely warm manner before the pictures, and later waited obligingly until dark for a specific Gucci dress to arrive. (In the end the light was so low that the shot didn?t make the cut.) Later in the afternoon, Sunday Rose and Faith arrived after their sleeps to see Mummy. Kidman didn?t want to put them down; Sunday Rose donned one of the tuxedo jackets from the clothing racks because it was getting chilly. The photographer then took some shots of Kidman with the girls solely for her family album.
[Via Harper?s Bazaar Aus.]
Nicole tells the editor that she was okay with the magazine using the shots of her kids: ?I think it’s OK, because you can’t see their faces; they’re still protected. I feel it’s a really lovely way to celebrate being a mum and being a family, and they’re my daughters, and they’re Keith’s daughters [laughs] ? you can see the hair!” See? I don?t have a problem with Nicole (or any celebrity woman) sharing photos of her kids in a magazine. I don?t have the hate-on for it that so many people do, mostly because I enjoy seeing photos of celebrities with their kids and I don?t judge that enjoyment, nor do I judge the moms who share photos. But Nicole?s quote still irritates me – she regularly gets pap?d with her youngest daughters. It happens all the time when she?s in LA. Which is fine. But don?t pretend that ?you can?t see their faces? and that she doesn’t have candid photo ops with the kids when she’s got a film coming out, just like Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Garner and all of the rest of them.
Here are some new shots of Nicole as a brunette, shooting The Railway Man in Scotland. Jesus, her lips.

| Nicole Kidman & Colin Firth in Edinburgh: adorable or too matchy-matchy? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos of Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman at the Edinburgh photocall for The Railway Man, which will kick off filming in Scotland on April 30. Oddly enough, the stars of the movie have been sent out to do some press ahead of filming, and it sounds kind of assbackwards, but I can deal with that if it means seeing some new photos of Colin Firth looking quite shaggable in jeans. The film is a wartime drama; as such, its subject matter sounds incredibly heavy and involves Firth’s character, who is a victim of the Death Railway of WWII and sets out to find those who tortured him. Here’s some information on the movie from the press conference:
[T]he movie’s still gearing up, which Firth alluded to in typically articulate fashion when asked about his approach to the role. “I haven’t started it yet, so I don?t know how I’m approaching it,” he explained. “What you usually do is watch the film when it’s made and then you can tell the press conference that you intended it that way.”
For those unaware, The Railway Man is a true story adapted from Eric Lomax’s best-selling book. According to the official blurb, “Eric Lomax (Firth) was one of thousands of Allied prisoners of war forced to work on the construction of the Thai/Burma railway during World War II. Years later, still haunted by memories of brutality and torture, he met a beautiful woman on a train. Patti (Kidman) was determined to rid Eric of his demons. With the help of a wartime colleague, she set up a mission back to the Bridge on the River Kwai where Eric would confront his tormentor, Nagase (Hiroyuki Sanada, who was absent).”
Describing it as a story about mental trauma following the atrocities of war, Firth went on to describe the character he?ll be playing as someone who is “searching for a way home.” Firth described the real Lomax and Patti as “incredibly engaging” and said that the 92-year-old former is “far more agile than I am.”
Interesting, Kidman’s Patti will be more of a focus in the film than the book, and Kidman claimed that she was still “polishing” her English accent. Irvine plays the young Colin Firth, and laughed “You find yourself looking in the mirror going ‘Am I quite up to that?’” (Firth retorted, “Nobody remembers what Colin Firth looks like!”).
[From Empire Online]
Uh, I have to respectfully disagree with Colin there because everybody remembers what Colin Firth looks like. Still, it’s nice that he’s still got his humility intact even after winning his Best Actor Oscar. Now let’s look at these photos a bit closer, shall we? These two have got the black sweater/vaguely distressed jeans look down to a science. They’re so preppy and matchy-matchy! Colin looks very distinguished with his bit of grey because, you know, men can get away with that. Obviously, Nicole’s been hitting the Botox again and looks a wee bit shiny but not entirely immobile. I love her pincurls though.
Both Nicole and Colin kept alternately looking down at something while the cameras snapped away. Was it because of something in Colin’s pants? That’s my theory.
