The news of Renee Zellweger and Bradley Cooper’s split is all over the tabloids this week. They made the announcement last Friday, conveniently right before his new movie came out. Cooper’s Limitless, with Robert DeNiro, was top at the box office last weekend and he’s trying to cement his status as a leading man. Meanwhile Renee is trying to save face and spin the breakup like she’s fabulous and couldn’t be better, thank you very much.
I had the chance to read US Weekly’s full article on Renee and Bradley’s breakup. We saw a teaser last week, in which Renee’s PR people emphasized how “hot” she is and how men are falling all over themselves to get to her. Renee Zellweger and Bradley Cooper split just last week but she’s already bounced back. She hit up a friend’s birthday party at La Esquina restaurant Saturday wearing “a skin-tight black dress and amazing lace-up shoes.”
An eyewitness, probably her publicist, said, “she looked smokin’ hot.” They continued, “at one point, three waiters came up to see if the table needed anything because they wanted to check out Renee.”
Yep, that definitely sounds like her publicist. By that same token, the waiters at every restaurant I go to must be checking me out because they come over to my table about four maybe five times asking if I need anything else. My goodness. I must be so attractive. That’s not sarcasm by the way.

These are some photos of Renee Zellweger from last year, and I?ll explain in a moment why I?m using them. First, in the wake of Renee?s split with Bradley Cooper, and the particular timing of the announcement (within days of tabloid reports of his wandering dong), Renee?s publicity team decided to avoid playing the pity party card. Thank God! Instead, both Page Six and Us Weekly have suspiciously friendly Renee stories, both enforcing the idea that post-split Renee is doing just fine, thank you very much. First, Page Six notes that Renee attended last night?s Broadway opening of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. According to witnesses, Renee was in good spirits, laughing and clapping through the show. She even told Page Six, ?The show is fabulous, I am really having a good time.”
Then Us Weekly published their Renee-friendly story, this one more obviously a publicist?s plant. What?s funny about this is not how obvious the press machine is, but the gleeful cognitive dissonance Us Weekly employed. I swear, Us Weekly used one of the funniest photos of Renee for this story - she looks absolutely deranged and horrible (you can see the photo here). So, that?s why I?m using bad photos for this post. For fun.
Looking good is the best revenge — just ask Renee Zellweger. Days after splitting with her boyfriend of nearly two years, Bradley Cooper, the 41-year-old actress put her best foot forward when she attended a pal’s low-key birthday bash at NYC’s La Esquina restaurant Saturday.
“She wore a skin-tight black dress and amazing lace-up shoes,” an eyewitness tells UsMagazine.com. “She looked smokin’ hot.”
And people certainly noticed. “At one point, three waiters came up to see if the table needed anything because they wanted to check out Renee.”
Though Us broke the news of her split just one day earlier, the Oscar-winning actress showed no signs of heartbreak during the outing. (She and Cooper, 36, began dating in July 2009 after meeting on the set of the thriller Case 39 four years earlier).
“She tried to make it work, but in the end it was too hard,” a Zellweger insider told Us. “Her friends feel bad it ended, but she’s okay.”

Really, Mr. Publicist? Three waiters came over to check out Renee? Ugh. Don?t get me wrong, I truly appreciate how Renee is playing this. She?s coming across like she?s fine and she will continue to be fine. Of course, now I?m wondering why she isn?t more broken up over this split - she and Bradley were together for years, and they lived together, for God?s sake. She doesn’t have to trot out all “fine” right away.
My mother - who doesn?t usually go for the ?everybody is secretly gay? theory of Hollywood - actually said to me that she thinks both Bradley and Renee are gay. I was surprised that even she thinks that.

While they looked to have one of the more promising Tinseltown relationships, Bradley Cooper and Renee Zellweger have pulled the plug on their romance.
According to multiple reports, the "Limitless" actor and the "Bee Movie" beauty have parted ways after having met in 2009 and moved in together in the fall of 2010.
Having maintained quite the private coupledom - as Renee and Bradley never even publicly confirmed their togetherness - the two were first rumored to be on rocky terms after being distant at a pre-Oscar party in February.
With the announcement comes on the same day as Cooper's new movie "Limitless" has hit theaters, Bradley previously said of Renee, "I can't say enough about her. I just love her. I [loved] coming to work. I love acting with her. I can learn so much from her."

Enjoying her time in the Lone Star State, Renee Zellweger was spotted at the 2011 Texas Film Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony last night (March 10).
The ?Bridget Jones? babe looked stunning in a strapless black dress as she worked the cameras outside Austin Studios in Austin, Texas.
Additionally, Renee has been named the new face of Tommy Hilfiger?s Breast Health International Spring 2011 initiative.
She explained, ?Because of the experiences of close friends and family members who have had to endure and battle the challenges of breast cancer, I am a passionate supporter of breast health education and charitable causes.?
?I am honored and grateful to be partnering with Tommy Hilfiger to raise awareness and funds to support the invaluable work of Breast Health International.?

Damn, this is the best Renee Zellweger has looked in a really long time. Good skin. Good posing. Good dress, although it is a bit ?Texas Debutante Cotillion?. The hair is meh, as usual, but Renee has never been a hair person. Overall though, she looks healthy and happy and pretty. The best she?s looked in years. God, she?s looked rough over the past five years or so. So? is it an incidence where she?s stopped jacking her face full of chemicals, or is it that all of her ?work? has finally ?settled?? I want to think that she?s stopped with the junk, but her forehead is looking like Nicole Kidman-esque marble. No, no, no! I?m being too negative. She looks great. She got all dressed up for the Golden camera Awards in Berlin, where she was awarded the Best International Actress Award for her body of work:
The annual Golden Camera Awards celebrates the biggest stars of German TV, music and film. But last night, the glitzy ceremony got a taste of Hollywood glamour as A-listers Renee Zellweger swept in wearing a stunning grey and silver ballgown.
The 41-year-old actress showed off her toned arms in the unusual, strapless gown, which included threads of silver wire running through the bodice and skirt.
The Cold Mountain star was awarded with the Best International Actress award for her many memorable on-screen performances over the years.
A spokeswoman for award organisers, Hoerzu magazine, said they were honouring her for her ability to play natural and authentic roles.
Accepting her accolade, she noted previous recipients of the award, including Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett and Jodie Foster: ‘I am so honoured to be part of the same group of great artists who have received this honor over the last 46 years.’
Noticeably absent was her actor boyfriend Bradley Cooper, who is in mourning following the death of his beloved father Charles two weeks ago. Renee was due to attend the Golden Globes at the time, but pulled out to be support Bradley and his family following the 71-year-old’s death.

That sucks that Bradley didn?t come to support her. They?re so weird about not wanting to be seen together. I mean, I get that Bradley?s star is on the rise, and that Renee has always been a pretty private person, but they?ve been together for more than a year, right? No, it?s been more than that, like a year and a half. Surely he can hold her hand on one red carpet and the sky won?t fall?

They jetted off to Jenkintown, Pennsylvania over the weekend for some relaxing family time, but Renee Zellweger and Bradley Cooper found themselves involved in a small house fire.
While the ?Jerry Maguire? babe and her ?Hangover? stud were visiting his family in the small town, flames from the fireplace got out of control.
Reports tell that the blaze leapt from the fireplace into the room in which they were all hanging out at Cooper?s mother?s home.
Authorities were called right away, and luckily no one was hurt.

Renee Zellweger has earned an honor that she reportedly values as much as her Academy Award: a Starbucks platinum card.
Renee has achieved the highest reward from Starbucks — and then some. The 41-year-old coffee lover is photographed carrying beverages from the ubiquitous chain almost daily and even once rewarded a paparazzi with a $100 Starbucks gift card for letting her know her parking meter was about to expire!
So to show their appreciation, Starbucks executives have sent Renee a special platinum card usually reserved for their corporate bigwigs. “Renee gets steep discounts and tons of perks thanks to the card,” a friend laughs. “Instead of being a wake-up call to reassess how much coffee she is actually drinking, Renee is so proud of it that she shows it off like it’s her Academy Award.”

This story caught my attention because although I think Starbucks coffee is too strong, I love the caffe mochas that are more like milkshakes and the banana chocolate chip coffee cake is yummy. I’ve cut down on my Starbucks visits because they’re too expensive and the drinks have too many calories.
Renee certainly doesn’t have to worry about the expense, and she’s usually so skinny I can’t see her downing Frappuccinos, unless those are the only calories she consumes that day or she’s bulking up for Bridget Jones 3, even though she allegedly asked producers to make Bridget skinny the third time around.

Last night was the event for CNN: An All-Star Tribute? which I thought already happened like a month ago? Is CNN doing these Heroes events like every other month now? Anyway, some bigger celebrities showed up for the event, and there was even some half-decent fashion. This is Renee Zellweger in Carolina Herrera, her favorite go-to designer. I actually think Renee looks completely lovely here. Great color, great cut, her hair is totally men, but it?s not hideous either, and Renee?s face doesn?t look tragic. Also: she?s not posing so hard that she looks like she?s about bust something. Well done, Renee.
Next: my lover Gerard. He was there! And he was wearing the hell out of a suit. And yet he didn?t take care of his jacked beard thing. Just shave it Gerry! Also, why does he look so grumpy?
Demi Moore was there, without Ashton, shockingly. Demi and Ashton have been connected at the hip publicly for more than a month, since the cheating rumors surfaced. As far as the dress - I really don?t like it. The cut around her shoulder looks awkward and uncomfortable, and from the waist up, the whole thing is rather unflattering.
I really disliked Jessica Alba?s dress too. It looks like a glorified housedress.
AnnaLynne McCord was in Alice & Olivia. She also might have a new boyfriend (after Kellan Lutz). The dude?s name is Ryan Eggold? I think he was briefly associated with Kate Hudson several months ago? Also, the fox fur cuffs are tragic and stupid.
Country star Jennifer Nettles, looking cute as hell and occasion-appropriate.
LL Cool J! He looks tired.
I didn?t love or hate Marisa Tomei?s dress. It was just there. Yawn.
And last - Aaron Eckhart. I know some of you still love him, but for me, he?s completely lost the hotness.

Changing up looks while clad in a variety of sultry ensembles, the blonde beauty happily posed for well-known photographer Alexi Lumbomirski for the new spread.
Meanwhile, it sounds as if Miss Zellweger is up for a role in the just-underway shooting movie "The Hangover 2" - which will followup boufriend Bradley Cooper's hit comedy flick.
"Renee loves the first movie and this just gives her and Brad a reason to hang out together on set. The funny thing is Renee looks like playing a girl the guys meet and one of them has a one-night-stand with her - only it's not Brad's character!" a source dished.
