Renee Zellweger has been dating musician Doyle Bramhall II (yes that’s his actual name) for about two years. The two first met in college and reportedly didn’t date back then but kept running into each other over the years until they finally gave in and got togerher. That’s sweet.
Renee plays her personal life pretty close to the vest so we haven’t heard that she’s engaged or anything, but The National Enquirer claims that she’s planning to marry Doyle on New Year’s Eve. The tabloids report that she’s sent out a “save the date” email to 15 close friends she wants to attend the wedding. They also claim that Doyle owes thousands in back child support to his ex wife. Sketchy.
The National Enquirer has learned exclusively that the 45 year-old Oscar winner has gushed to close pals that she plans to wed her beau of two years – rock guitarist Doyle Bramhall II – on New Year’s Eve in Austin, Texas.
The couple chose Austin because it’s where they met as students more than two decades ago, sources said.
“Renee is madly in love with Doyle and wants to close out 2014 by marrying him where they share special memories.
“She sent out ‘save the date’ emails to about 15 friends for New Year’s Eve,” an insider revealed…
Doyle was once addicted to heroin and is involved in a messy legal battle with ex-wife Susannah Melvoin.
The two divorced in 2010, but as the Enquirer has reported, he owes her thousands of dollars in back child support for their two children…
“But Renee swears he’s a stand up guy and that despite his financial problems with his ex wife, he’s never asked her for a dime.
“He told Renee that he’d be happy to sign a prenup.”

When the Enquirer runs stories on anyone but A list celebrities they tend to be solid. That’s why I believe that Renee probably did send out an email to friends asking them to save the date. It’s very specific too. Is this why she got all that work done on her face, because she’s ready to move into another chapter in her life? (Reese Witherspoon is now clucking her tongue and calling me sexist.) Good for Renee for falling for a non-famous guy. Remember her four month marriage to Kenny Chesney in 2005? I do question Doyle Bramhall II’s inability to pay child support. That would be a big red flag to me. Maybe he just fell on hard times though. I hope for Renee’s sake that Doyle is decent guy beneath that epic hair. I also hope she gets a prenup.

Yesterday, I covered the first excerpts from Us Weekly?s Renee Zellweger cover story ? go here to read. I actually enjoy this debate about Renee and how we should treat/cover celebrity plastic surgery. My take aligns with CB?s take which is basically that they?re celebrities on a red carpet and if the work is noticeable, why is ?wrong? to notice? Of course there are struggles with aging in Hollywood and in the real world, and if you?re getting something done to make yourself feel better, God bless. But I also think it?s human nature to NOTICE when someone dramatically changes their appearance, and like I always say, judging comes naturally to most people too. Anyway, there are more excerpts from Us Weekly?s story:
New York cosmetic surgeon Victoria Karlinsky tells Us that Zellweger ?likely had upper-lid surgery to make her eyes look more open as well as a very conservative tupe of rhinoplasty to narrow the bridge of her nose.?
Beverly Hills-based plastic surgeon Davis Alessi ?suspects she had fat removed from her cheeks. She probably also had Botox injected into her jaw muscles to make them thinner.?
So why did Zellweger do it? A Zellweger confidant tells Us Weekly: ?She is sort of obsessed with staying younger and is having a hard time accepting she?s not the hot young thing in Hollywood anymore. But the problem is she didn?t appreciate everything that made her interesting and special.?
In 2010, ?The parts started drying up. She wonders what?s wrong with her and why she isn?t getting the roles she used to,? says the confidant.
Nowadays, Renee enjoys a quieter existence, mostly settled in an oceanfront Santa Monica condo. She ?is extremely health conscious and does a lot of yoga and all the workout fads. She?s always trying different diets and meal delivery services.?
Boyfriend Doyle Bramhall shares her passion for healthy living too: ?They work out together and both love being outside. He?s someone she can be quiet with. That?s rare.?
Still, the source close to Zellweger takes issue with the notion that love is itself a facelift: ?Renee?s in a great relationship and at peace for the first time. But unfortunately, happiness doesn?t raise your eyelids or make you look more awake.?
Though criticism about her looks has dampened her mood ? ?Renee is putting on a brave faade but she is shaken by the blowup this week? ? it just may help her career. She?s currently working on Same Kind of Different as Me in Mississippi and the coverage about her face could help the release of The Whole Truth next year.

I agree that Renee didn?t really embrace her old face. Us Weekly included some of the harsher criticism, including what one bitchy movie critic said about her face a few years ago, referring to it as ?weird? and ?rabbity.? It?s a cruel world out there and insecurity is a bitch. But? Renee?s face still makes me sad.

About a year ago, Renee Zellweger had significant, noticeable work done to her face. She’d obviously had some kind of eye lift, which may have been medically necessary. Some of you commented at the time that she may have needed the surgery to correct eyelid droopiness. Whatever the reason, you could definitely see the difference in her face. Here’s a before and after photo we posted at the time.
Renee laid low for about a year. We saw the occasional photo of her out with her boyfriend (a musician and old college friend named Doyle Bramhall II, they’ve been together around two years now) and she would attend a rare event, but she stayed under the radar. Then Renee went to the Elle Women in Hollywood event over the weekend. Everyone was like “woah she looks like a different person.” Instead of admitting to doing something to change her appearance, Renee told People that she’s happy and more fulfilled and we must be noticing that.
“I’m glad folks think I look different! I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows,” Zellweger, 45, says of the attention she received after an appearance at the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards in Beverly Hills on Monday.
Calling the conversation about her appearance “silly,” she says she is choosing to address it because “it seems the folks who come digging around for some nefarious truth which doesn’t exist won’t get off my porch until I answer the door.”
“My friends say that I look peaceful. I am healthy,” Zellweger continues. “For a long time I wasn’t doing such a good job with that. I took on a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and didn’t allow for taking care of myself. Rather than stopping to recalibrate, I kept running until I was depleted and made bad choices about how to conceal the exhaustion. I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things.”
That healthier, slower-paced lifestyle ? and her happy relationship with boyfriend Doyle Bramhall ? helped her turn a corner. “I did work that allows for being still, making a home, loving someone, learning new things, growing as a creative person and finally growing into myself,” she says.
“People don’t know me in my 40s,” says Zellweger, who prefers to lead a quiet life with Bramhall and a close circle of friends. Recently, she pitched in to help her pal and longtime publicist, Nanci Ryder, who is battling ALS, at the ALS Association Golden West Chapter’s annual Walk to Defeat ALS in Los Angeles.
“People don’t know me [as] healthy for a while,” says Zellweger. “Perhaps I look different. Who doesn’t as they get older?! Ha. But I am different. I’m happy.”

Renee did lose weight in the past few months, and that contributes to her face looking thinner, but give me a break. People aren’t “digging around for some nefarious truth,” they’re noticing that she looks nothing like herself. This is a Jennifer Grey level of plastic surgery change.
I like Zellweger so I’m not going to parse her defensive word salad too much, but she sounds like Ashley Judd here. “Rather than stopping to recalibrate, I kept running until I was depleted and made bad choices about how to conceal the exhaustion.” Is she referring to a visit a dermatologist as a “bad choice”? Is that a vague hint? Renee is a very private person, but if she would have admitted that she had something done, maybe that it was medically necessary, she would sound more genuine. She could remain vague and say she’s not ready to get into specifics. Instead, it’s all everyone else’s fault for noticing and Renee has gotten older and taken time to “recalibrate,” resulting in her eyes magically changing shape. I’m disappointed. It’s great that she’s in a good place now, though. She seems happy with her boyfriend with the giant ‘fro.

Here are some photos from last night?s 21st annual Elle Women In Hollywood Awards. There are a ton of photos, so CB, Bedhead and I have split them up, awards-season style. Enjoy! One lady in particular is getting a lot of attention this morning because OMG, what did she do to her face? Renee Zellweger wore a little black dress and a completely new face to the event. We?ve actually been pointing out Zellweger?s ?work? for a year ? she had something done (something with her eyes) last year. I believe the work has ?settled? but she just looks so different. Barely recognizable. Sigh?
Oh, and here?s Renee?s boyfriend (?) Doyle Bramhall. His afro is? something. Wow.

Doutzen Kroes in Calvin Klein ? there were a lot of women wearing CK because CK was one of the sponsors of the event. Doutzen only recently welcomed her second child. She looks fantastic.

Kerry Washington in Calvin Klein. Minimalist, pretty, not really noteworthy but fine.
Elizabeth Banks in Michael Kors. Feminine, girly but not twee, at least to me. Possibly because I love her so much.

Here are some new photos of Renee Zellweger. Renee made a rare public appearance yesterday at 2014 Couture Council Awards benefit luncheon honoring Renee?s longtime friend and designer-ally Carolina Herrera. Zellweger?s best fashion moments came from wearing Herrera?s clothes, so it makes sense that Renee would show up to honor her friend. So, what?s the problem? The same problem that CB discussed in the past ? Renee is somewhat unrecognizable these days. She had something done last year. Some say she had eye work, some say it?s just injectibles. I have no idea. My theory involves an eye lift, I think.
Renee is wearing Herrera, obviously. The dress and the shoes are great, but as you could probably already tell, I?m a fan of Renee in Herrera. I wish Renee had more opportunities to walk red carpets these days ? she hasn?t had a new film out since 2010. Which is crazy for an Oscar-winning actress who was once one of the most in-demand actresses just a decade ago. What do you think is better for an actress ? the Renee method of dropping off the face of the earth for several years when the parts dry up, or the Nicole Kidman method of clinging to 30-something characters and relying on a steady stream of Botox and fillers to recapture your youth? I honestly can?t decide.
By the way, Renee is working on a film called The Whole Truth ? that the one where Daniel Craig dropped out just before production and now Keanu Reeves is playing the lead guy, a lawyer. It comes out next year. Will this be the first of many roles for Renee?s Phase 2?

These are photos of Renee Zellweger attending a screening for the movie Long Shot: The Kevin Laue Story in LA on Saturday. She’s with her boyfriend, an old college friend named Doyle Bramhall II. Doyle is a music producer and musician and has worked as a guitarist for Eric Clapton. Renee and Doyle have been together a little over a year so it seems serious.
Renee is shown in the photo above looking thrilled to meet the movie’s subject, 6’11? college basketball player Kevin Laue. The guy is huge! Renee is 5’4? tall. Laue, 23, is an accomplished player who received a basketball scholarship to play division one for Manhattan college despite being born with just one hand. Wiki tells me that he uses his stump (that’s what they call it!) to help hold the ball when he’s playing. Renee looks astonished at how tall he is and it’s really cute.
Of course we’re reporting this because Renee recently had some kind of plastic surgery or eye work done. Her face looks radically different than it did before. As I said in an earlier post on this, I think Renee looks great and her work isn’t noticeable – if you didn’t know what she looked like before. Compared to her earlier face, she looks much different and more wide eyed. In these pictures of her smiling so cute like that, she looks much more natural to me. I think she looks great, just not like herself.
Many of you pointed out that eye lift surgery is often a necessary procedure to correct eyelid droopiness and may not be for cosmetic reasons. Whatever Renee’s motivation, I hope she likes her new look and is comfortable with it. I wonder if she’ll talk about her surgery at some point. She comes across as a very private person. She’s seems friendly and personable, just private with the press. This is a big change for her and I do think that a journalist is going to broach the question in an interview at some point.
Also, that’s a great jacket, right?

Heading out for a spirited walk, Renee Zellweger and boyfriend Doyle Bramhall II were out and about in Los Angeles on Saturday (March 16).
The "Bridget Jones Diary" star dressed down in a gray sweater, black half-length workout tights, and sneakers as she chatted with her man.
Though dating for a few months now, the two actually met in 1990, when they both attended the University of Texas.
Though he's best known for his early '90s blues band Arc Angels, Doyle also tours with Eric Clapton on the road.

Did you know that Renee Zellweger has had a boyfriend for the past few months? Unlike her relationship with Bradley Cooper, Renee and her new dude Doyle Bramhall II seem to be okay with the occasion pap-ing. To be fair to them, it doesn?t feel like they?re calling the paps and telling the photographers where to be. But maybe that nave of me? Maybe Renee wants everyone to know that she has a boyfriend when everyone is paying attention to her ex Bradley Cooper and his Oscar campaign.
Anyway, these are some pics of Renee and Doyle on Sunday in LA, coming out of a yoga class. Would you like their backstory? According to sources, Doyle and RZ went to college together at the University of Texas (Austin), and they?ve been friends for more than two decades. She?s 42 ? he?s 44. A source claimed that ?they didn?t date? in college, but they kept running into each other over the years, and they completely reconnected late last summer. Doyle is described as a ?guitarist/producer? which?? Okay. Doyle also dated Sheryl Crow at some point. A source tells Us Weekly, “Renee’s really happy and has a new life.”
I think he?s cute in a normal-guy way. He?s the kind of guy that I would notice in the gym and obsess about for an hour and then I would probably forget him as soon as my workout was done. I think the dude head-band might be a dealbreaker, but I?m sure I?ll get some headband-defenders in here, yelling at me about how their boyfriends/husbands totally wear knit sweat-headbands and it?s super-sexy, right? But I will say this ? Renee looks happy, doesn?t she? I could totally see her settling down with a ?normal? guy.

Showing some love to their German fans, Renee Zellweger and Edward Norton attended the Hugo Boss fashion show at Berlin Fashion Week yesterday (January 17).
The ?Bridget Jones? Diary? dame had everyone?s undivided attention thanks to her sexy black t-bar minidress as she posed outside the Brandenburg Gate.
And it sounds like Renee has been busy with her budding relationship with boyfriend Doyle Bramhall III as of late.
Back in the early 1990s, Zellweger and Bramhall both attended the University of Texas, but ?they didn?t date then,? says an insider.
This past summer they decided to give it a go and went on a date. ?Things went from there. Renee?s really happy and has a new life,? added the source.

I haven?t seen new photos of Renee Zellweger or heard ANY gossip about her in months. The last photos we have of her are from the Met Gala in May. But she appeared like a wood sprite last night in NYC for the 29th Annual Fashion Group International Night Of Stars. Renee wore her favorite designer, Carolina Herrera. Much like Halle Berry, Renee?s style is kind of stuck in the same place it was a decade ago. It?s not such a bad thing ? she knows what looks good on her, she knows her body. I will say this? Renee?s face looks really good. I?m sure she?s Botoxing, but she?s not overdoing it from what I can see. She looks oddly less squinty too??
Renee is 43 years old right now? and am I the only one who kind of misses her in movies? For a while there, she was doing really great work. She doesn?t have anything coming out this year. Or next year. Allegedly, she?s going to be doing a third Bridget Jones film (Bridget Jones?s Baby) at some point. Sigh? so she?s probably at this event just because she felt like having a night out. What?s going on with you, Renee?

I like the look better with the jacket, although I do like the structure of everything overall ? L?Wren Scott is a great designer. And her makeup is a mess.
And here?s Viola Davis and her husband. V looks good in this black-and-white Max Mara dress! I like when she goes without her wig, but I do have a question: this is a tint, right? She?s getting her natural hair tinted or dyed? Because I don?t like the shade she?s using ? I think she should go darker.
