Her new album Goodbye Lullaby hit stores earlier this month, and last night (March 14) Avril Lavigne was in the house at ?The Tonight Show with Jay Leno? for a very special performance.
The ?I?m With You? songstress rocked her new hit ?What the Hell,? sporting some uber-geeky eyewear and multi-colored tresses.

It has been years in the making, and last night Avril Lavigne unveiled her new album Goodbye Lullaby in New York City.
The ?I?m With You? songstress was joined by her boyfriend Brody Jenner at the Onitsuka Tiger & RCA Records-hosted event.
One of the collaborators on the album was Max Martin, the legendary Swedish songwriter/producer responsible for hits by Backstreet Boys, NSync, Kelly Clarkson, and Katy Perry.
Of Martin, Avril gushed, "What was really great about working with Max was, I flew out to Sweden for a couple weeks, sat down, played him my record, got to know each other, wrote some songs together, and then I was out. It switched it up for me. It was a new creative space, a new relationship, and we got a lot done. He's very talented."
"He said some really kind things that really meant a lot to me. He worked with so many people and he's an artist, he's very sensitive. We wrote a couple really special songs together."

Her step brother Brody Jenner is dating Avril Lavigne, so it only makes sense that Kim Kardashian was in the house for Lavigne?s record release party last night (March 8).
The ?Disaster Movie? babe was joined by her basketball-playing boyfriend Kris Humphries as she hammed it up for the camera at the Plaza Hotel in New York City.
While out and about, Kim tweeted, ?Feel like its prom all over again?in a white stretch limo w Kris Humphries, Brody Jenner, Avril Lavigne?heading to Avril?s album release.?
Returning the favor, Avril tweeted, ?Great being with friends and family during this special time for me.?

Her new album Goodbye Lullaby hit stores and online retailers today (March 8) and Avril Lavigne had a special surprise for her UK fans.
This morning, the ?Complicated? songstress hit up the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge for a killer live performance.
Ms. Lavigne sang a cover version of Ke$ha's breakout hit ?TiK ToK? with a more subdued acoustic feel to it.
She tweeted, ?Thank you to my little black stars for being up so bright and early with me to support the #Goodbye Lullaby release.?

Enjoying some time in the Land of the Rising Sun, Avril Lavigne was spotted at the grand opening of the GAP flagship store in Tokyo, Japan yesterday (March 3).
The ?I?m With You? songstress did the honors of cutting the ceremonial ribbon alongside Gap Japan president John Ermatinger.
With her new album hitting stores soon, Avril recently told Parade magazine that she has enjoyed taking a break from her bustling career.
"I've been on the road since I was 17, so it was nice to balance it out a little and be at home and do what I needed to do in my personal life and just live a little. I'm always away from everybody and it was nice to be at home and around friends for a little bit. And of course, since I write my music, it's important to take the time to get inspiration. So I took a bit of a break. I was working on the record, but I was taking my time with it."

In case you were worried that Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner might not last after getting tattoos for each other and solidifying their love during drunken nights at Hollywood clubs, you can rest easy. These two crazy kids are reportedly engaged to be married. They’ve been together a whole year and only broke up once, so it’s time:
On Feb. 9, during the duo’s whirlwind trip to Europe, the divorced singer, 26, e-mailed a bandmate a picture of her left hand with what appears to be an engagement ring on it - with the subject line “ha ha.” And insiders tell Star that Brody, 27, did indeed pop the question to his girlfrien of about a year. “Avril has hinted to pals that she thought Brody was planning a big surprise during their trip to France,” says an insider. “It’s just her style to be coy rather than coming out with an announcement right away.”

I’m hoping that this is just some joke e-mail Avril sent and that Star is reading too much into it. I checked both Avril and Brody’s Twitter accounts, and neither of them have tweeted anything about this and they don’t send tweets to each other either as far as I could tell. (I just skimmed it honestly and didn’t go that far back.)
Last summer, we heard that Brody was “begging” Avril to do a reality show with him. He’s sort-of a Kardashian, after all. (His dad is Bruce Jenner.) Maybe they are engaged and soon we’ll be treated to the Avril and Brody show. Spare us, but you know that some TV exec would sign off on that.

Gearing up for a big night, Avril Lavigne was spotted arriving on the red carpet of the annual BRIT Awards in London, England on Tuesday (February 15).
The ?What the Hell? songstress looked punky cute in a black dress and heels while she excitedly posed for pictures in the media area of the O2 Arena - at one point flipping the bird at photogs.
Chatting with press ahead of the UK red carpet celebration, Lavigne admitted that she was feeling a bit nervous about falling on stage.
Avril told, ?I am presenting an award and I am wearing a dress and heels. I will be trying not to fall! I really would like to wear these boots with my dress.?
Looks like she opted out of wearing the boots!
