I don?t even care, I?m openly obsessed with Mariah Carey?s giant engagement ring. James Packer proposed to Mariah more than a week ago, and he did so with a 35-carat diamond ring that cost more than $10 million, apparently. Before now, the only real look we had at the ring was just after the proposal, when Mariah did a ring-flash to the paparazzi as she was getting into the car. But Mariah and James came out for the G?Day Los Angeles Gala last night, and of course Mimi wore a simple black gown? the best background for her ring. I?m including the close-ups of the ring at the end of the post. It is spectacular.
As we discussed yesterday, sources tell People Magazine that Mariah has never been happier, that she?s finally found a guy who will treat her like a princess and buy her lots of stuff. Aussie sites claim that Packer and Carey are planning a move to LA, or at least they?ll have some kind of base in LA (Mariah?s long-time base has been in NYC). Packer is renting a huge mansion in Calabasas, in the gated community The Oaks, which is where several Kardashians live. There are also rumors that Packer and Mimi are already planning for their wedding, despite the fact that neither of them has finalized their divorce. Allegedly, Mariah has agreed to a big Australian wedding, which? sure, I?ll buy that ONE of their weddings will go down in Australia. But Mimi will also have a wedding in America, I?m absolutely sure.

They?ve been together for less than a year and now Mariah Carey has accepted a marriage proposal from James Packer, her Australian billionaire beau.
The ?Always Be My Baby? songstress, who was previously married to Tommy Mottola and Nick Cannon, was given a 35-carat diamond ring by her fianc as he popped the question and obviously she said yes.
Carey and Packer first met thanks to the craftiness of mutual friend Brett Ratner. Mariah has four-year-old twins from her marriage to Cannon while James has three children and has been married twice before.

This one is obvious. Of course Mariah Carey and James Packer were always going to get engaged. We knew that as soon as we learned that Mariah was dating a billionaire. We knew it as soon as Packer slammed other singers. We knew it as soon as we learned that Mariah and James were having sex. Of course he proposed. Thankfully, he waited until she had (mysteriously) lost weight over the holidays.
Congratulations are in order ? Mariah Carey and James Packer are engaged! The proposal took place in her hometown of New York City on Thursday evening, PEOPLE has learned. Carey, 45, and Packer, 48, ? an Australian businessman ? first met at the Hercules premiere “a few years ago”, she told Steve Harvey last year. They made their red carpet debut in September last year at The Intern premiere in New York City after being photographed getting cozy while on an Italian vacation in June.
Shortly before Christmas, the couple headed to Aspen, Colorado with the singer’s 4-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-husband Nick Cannon.
This will be the third marriage for Carey, who was also previously married to music executive Tommy Mottola. Packer has three young children with his ex-wife Erica Baxter.

TMZ also claims that James ?secretly rounded up a bunch of Mariah’s close friends for a private dinner at Eleven Madison Park … so he could get down on one knee and propose in front of the most special people in her life.? He really does ?get? Mariah, I?m not sure if we?ve said that before. He gets that she needs jewelry, praise and attention all the time. He gets that she?s a princess and she needs her men to spoil her. And now he gets to be her third husband. And you know what? I don?t hate it. Mariah snagged a billionaire in under a year. She should teach a class. Miranda Kerr would sign up for it.

Every parent knows that children can be challenging and Mariah Carey found out first-hand that an unsupervised four-year-old can really throw things into freefall.
During her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on Wednesday (August 5), the ?Always Be My Baby? songstress was interrupted by her son Moroccan during her photo shoot with her new star on the iconic sidewalk.
Finally, a friend stepped in and literally dragged Moroccan out of the shot as he kicked and screamed. And to her credit, Mimi resisted losing her temper and simply assured the youngster, ?It?s okay.?

I know that there are going to be people yelling ?OMG, this comes from Star/OK, it?s obviously crap!? But here?s what you need to know: I believe every single word of this. I will always believe the stupidest, silliest, craziest stories about Mariah Carey because more often than not, they are 100% true. As we know, Mariah is currently dating James Packer, an Australian billionaire previously linked to Miranda Kerr (the rumor is that Kerr homewrecked Packer?s marriage). Packer seems enamored with Mariah, and early into their courtship, he took Mariah, her kids and his kids on a whirlwind vacation through the Mediterranean. But is he strong enough to follow Mariah?s strict courtship rules? An insider tells Star/OK: ?Mariah wants to be in control and let James know that she?s unlike anyone he?s ever been with.? Thus, these rules. Apparently, James is ?up for a challenge.? Hahahaha.
Sex Only On Mondays: Mariah doesn’t like surprises, especially in the bedroom. So to make sure she’s always prepared for a night of passion, she schedules her sex on Monday nights. “There’s a beauty routine she goes through beforehand,” says a source. “And she likes to make sure candles are lit and music is playing.” Ah, the anticipation!
Never Mention Nick: Determined to leave her soon-to-be-ex-husband Nick Cannon in the past, Mariah has forbidden everyone around her?even James?to refer to him by name. “She only calls Nick ‘my children’s father’ and expects everyone else to follow suit,” adds the source.

Break Out The Silver Spoons: Mariah loves being pampered?and not just by a team of masseurs, stylists and assistants. She also expects James to pitch in by rubbing her feet, washing her hair when they’re in the tub together and even spoon-feeding her dinner! “Mariah thinks being fed by her lover is the most romantic thing on earth,” says the source.
Don’t Change The Station: Famed for her five-octave vocal range, melismatic style and mastery of whistle register, there’s no denying Mariah’s singing talent. To make sure James never forgets, Mariah demands that her tunes blare from the speakers at all times. “She loves hearing the sound of her own voice,” says the source. “She believes she’s the greatest singer in the world.”
Make It Steamy?Literally! To keep her skin supple and her nasal passages moist, Mariah made James purchase 24 humidifiers for his home, private plane and yacht. “She’s obsessed with them,” reveals the insider. “There have to be at least three going in every room…and four placed around her bed at night.”
Don’t Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em: After nearly ruining her voice with the habit years ago, Mariah decided to give up cigarettes. And she doesn’t want James or his staff to have any around her. Says the source, “After the first time she saw him smoking, she told him under no certain terms that he had to quit.”
Check In At All Times: Though the two have been joined at the hip for the last several weeks, sources say that when James can’t be with her, Mariah contacts him hourly. “She wants to try to trip him up to see if he’s where he says he is,” says the insider. “And somehow, she always has a way to find out if he’s telling the truth.” Hope he lives up to her vision of love!

I believe everything. This is all completely true. I believe Mariah only lets Packer bang her on Mondays. Why not Fridays? Why not Wednesdays? JUST BECAUSE. Mariah has to be prepared and that preparation begins on Tuesday and she?s not ready until the following Monday. I believe she probably hates that Packer smokes and she?s ?ordering? him to quit. I believe all the rest of it too.

Mariah Carey & James Packer have taken their Yacht of Love to Formentera and Ibiza, in Spain. These photos are from Wednesday, and as you can see, Mariah did several costume changes for the paparazzi. She even wore a wetsuit again, for what looked like the quickest ocean dip ever. But my favorite photos ? other than the ones of Mariah trying to balance in heels on sand ? are the ones of Mariah falling down the yacht stairs as she tries to gracefully meet her lover in the smaller boat to take them to shore. This is what happens when you make Mariah walk on her own! SHE ALMOST FELL!! And she almost took down that yacht employee too! That poor bastard saw his life flash before his eyes.
Mariah is in the new issue of Us Weekly ? she did their ?25 Things You Don?t Know About?? feature, which is one of my favorite magazine features. Mariah?s 25 Things were all pretty amazing, but I?m just going to do some highlights. You can read the full piece here.
She was a smoker: ?I smoked quite frequently from the time I was 12 to when I was 18. I gave up smoking in one day and never went back. I absolutely detest cigarette smoke now.?
Toxic lighting: ?I have an extreme aversion to overhead lighting. In my opinion, elevator lighting is toxic!?
Nails: ?I have totally natural nails.? [Editor?s Note: ME TOO!]
Birthdays: ?I do not observe birthdays. I do, however, celebrate the anniversary of my birth [March 27] every day at 3:27 a.m., p.m., EST, PST, and ST!?
Her spare time: ?I arrange flowers in my spare time. Well, when I have spare time, that is.?
She?s a cook! ?I can make a mean gluten-free lasagna and an even meaner pecan pie.? Also: ?I make incredible food every Christmas Eve.?
The worst pain ever: ?I dislocated my shoulder two years ago, and it was the worst pain I?ve ever experienced. I had to wear a glove for a while because it affected my hand as well. Thanks to physical therapy, I?m finally glove-free!?

Swimwear: ?I swim in evening gowns and heels.?

I?m side-eyeing all of the stuff that involves Mariah actually moving of her own accord. Do you think she?s actually in the kitchen making pecan pies and Christmas cookies? I do not believe it. But I am shocked to see that I have some similarities with Mariah ? I love bathtubs, water, showers. I don?t wear a watch either, but that?s because I?m not crazy about wearing anything on my wrist (except I?m actually compulsively early for everything, not late). I never wear mascara either and I?ve always had natural nails, never fake. Mariah and I are kindred souls. Thankfully, when I fall down, I tend to be a bit more graceful (JK, I?m a mess).
