Zoe Saldana covers the August issue of Fashion magazine to promote her role in Guardians of the Galaxy. She’s wearing a Julien Macdonald dress on the cover, and the rest of the shoot features slinky cocktail attire. I’m sad that Zoe never mentions her favorite topic, jar opening, in this interview. She does talk about how she finally found the right man in Marco Perego. Marco and Zoe happened pretty fast. They married five months after they started dating, and they first hooked up a few months after Zoe and Bradley Cooper quit it for good. Zoe and BCoop were together for about a year (on and off). Before that, Zoe was with Keith Britton for a decade. Even allowing for some sketchy math, Zoe has rarely been single, but she plays it off like she was super single when Marco came along:
Her view of competition in Hollywood: “I was a ferocious dancer so therefore I was a ferocious up-and-coming actress. When it comes to auditions, I?m not competitive with anybody. I don?t even know who?s sitting next to me. I wouldn’t even tell you if it was a blonde or brunette. The moment you compare yourself, it weakens you.”
On her quickie marriage to Marco Perago: “I was finally able to spend time without being in a relationship and even though, it was a short period of time, it was beautiful. Where I lost that fear of being alone. It was bliss. Then I met my partner when I was in really a beautiful place in my life. It was like I found all my answers with him not in him. I was finding my answers on my own.”
On the next Avatar movie: “[Neytiri] is stronger than what I wanted this time, but she?s also very vulnerable. It?s very much her journey and I accepted the job again because I believe the script has her going in the right path. Jake and Neytiri are very much still a force to be reckoned with.”
Her advice for women: “It?s important to not have women be afraid of you, to accept your mortality and your aging so that you can be a better mentor for up and coming women. Whenever these young women come and they just want to take everything all at once, just because they?re younger and their asses are harder and plumper, you kind of go, ”Child, sit down. Yes, you?re beautiful but listen to these 1, 2, 3s.? 1. Don?t hike up your skirt too much. 2. I?m pretty sure you?re intelligent so act like it. 3. Read a book.”

At least Zoe admits she was only single for a short period of time. I guess when the right one comes along, a girl just knows it. Zoe is probably pregnant with Marco’s baby too. That will make her upcoming press tour pretty eventful, right? Her maternity style should be interesting.
There’s not much else to grab onto in this interview except for Zoe’s discussion on how actresses shouldn’t hike up their clothing for attention. She has a point.

Zoe Saldana will soon dive into promotion for Guardians of the Galaxy. She hasn’t worked since Cannes (where she wore a bunch of tight dresses), and she’s been sporting loose-fitting clothing over the past few weeks to run errands in Los Angeles. She also Instagrammed a picture of herself wearing baggy jeans (with clown makeup). This means she’s knocked up, according to the media. Zoe does look vaguely “bumpy” in this photo with husband Marco Perego and his outstanding man bun, but I don’t know. Zoe usually favors unfitted casual clothing when she’s not on the red carpet. She could be pregnant If she is, it will be interesting. Zoe will educate the world about the whole pregnancy experience. I can’t wait.
For now, we’ll have to make do with Zoe’s discussion about how “space roles” are the most empowering roles of all for women. Zoe plays the green-skinned, most powerful assassin in the universe in Guardians, and she’s also enjoyed success with Avatar and Star Trek. Why does she do it?
“I like being in space because there are better parts for women in space. I don?t have to subject myself to just being the love interest or playing a character that doesn?t feel relevant to the story or playing a woman that doesn?t feel like an actual depiction of a real woman. When I read films in space and I?m working with these kinds of filmmakers there?s a neutral sense to the way they develop characters. It makes me feel very significant, very relevant and very excited.”
[From Badass Digest]
You know, she’s correct. Zoe’s not in any danger of falling into romcom tropes when she plays warriors in space movies. These movies are full of adventure and don’t feature silly characters stumbling around in high heels and miniskirts. Not that there’s anything wrong with wearing high heels, but it’s not very practical for intense physical activity. In space, no one can hear the high heels clacking, and no one is sitting around and waiting for Mr. Right to text them.
More bumpwatch: Here’s a photo of Zoe looking tiny in Cannes (plus more in the gallery).

| Zoe Saldana in Victoria Beckham at Cannes 'Grace of Monaco?: elegant or awful' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Zoe Saldana attended the Grace of Monaco premiere in Cannes with a surprising dress. On anyone else, the effect of Zoe’s look isn’t that shocking, but I’m so used to her trying to be avant garde and edgy. This is a more classic look with a twist. I was also surprised to learn that this is a Victoria Beckham gown. The pleats on the skirt are crisp and elegant, and the asymmetrical ruffles on the bodice remind me of cake icing. I am a big icing girl, so this dress automatically wins me over. Zoe wore gold Louboutin sandals to match her gold “rope” belt. The earrings are a bit large but go with the gold theme. Zoe wisely let her hair fall in lose waves. She remembered to smile too. Zoe has one of those faces that transform with a smile, which is her best asset.
Zhang Ziyi is always interesting and rarely predictable. She chose a Stephane Rolland couture dress with all sorts of edgy details. The top has a shattered-glass effect, and the gown melts into a cascade of white ruffles. She looks so pretty.
Kendall Jenner wore Chanel and made it look super budget. I know, it’s a Kardashian on the red carpet at Cannes. It’s fine — Paris Hilton has been to Cannes many times. BTW, Kendall is rumored to be the new face of Topshop.
Karlie Kloss fugged the whole premiere up with this tri-color lace Valentino gown. This dress is so ugly, and Karlie disappears into a sea of awfulness. She looks like an attendee at ye olde renaissance fair.
Audrey Tautou wore a pretty enough black and white dress in a geometric print with offbeat navy pumps. How amazing would this dress have been as a cute strapless number?
Jane Fonda looked fantastic in Elie Saab. She’s sexy without trying too hard and age-appropriate but still sizzling.
Sofia Coppola wore Valentino as part of the judging panel. This outfit is so frumpy and reminds me of a 1990s sweater and culottes combo. With sparkles.

| Zoe Saldana once had sex between subway cars, 'but now I?m a lady' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

These are photos of Zoe Saldana and Marco Perego at JFK Airport on Friday. Their body language seems more comfortable than it did last year. I am disturbed by Marco’s man-bun. Zoe’s starting to do interviews to promote Rosemary’s Baby remake and Guardians of the Galaxy. I wonder if she and Bradley Cooper will end up on the same red carpets for Guardians. That would be awkward.
Zoe is an enthusiastic promoter. She doesn’t jump in to the same degree as Cameron Diaz, but I suspect we’ll see a bunch of magazine spreads with Zoe wearing avant garde fashion. She’ll brag about her jar-opening abilities again. It will be fun. For now, she’s done a quickie talk on Sirius XM about strange places she’s had sex. The craziest place was between subway cars. For real:
Stand clear of the closing doors, please … unless you’re Zoe Saldana.
During an appearance on “Sway in the Morning” on SiriusXM Thursday, the Rosemary’s Baby actress revealed she’d done more than just ride the New York City subway.
“The craziest place [I've had sex] – I am a part of the Mile High Club,” Saldana explained. “Okay, this is ghetto, but hey, I’m from Queens, whatever. There is a train from Coney Island all the way back into the city, and in between two train cars. It was super ghetto.”
But Saldana, who is now married to Italian artist Marco Perego, was quick to note that her days filled with foreplay on the MTA are over: “But I’m a lady now. I’m a lady.”
[From Page Six]
This is so confusing. Were the subway cars moving, and she and some dude were between them? That sounds terribly dangerous but kind of exciting — if you’re into that kind of thing. I always feel like people who have to have sex in weird places may not be having the great sex they think they’re having. Does that make sense? If you can’t jazz things up enough at home, then maybe the sex isn’t that great. Also … grimy.
Zoe’s talked before about how she considers herself to be “a lady” and not a “coquettish, giddy little girl.” Some of you thought she directed those words as a side eye to Bradley Cooper and Suki Waterhouse. Perhaps.

Prepping for an outbound flight, Zoe Saldana arrived at JFK International Airport in New York City with her husband Marco Perego on Friday (May 9).
The pair kept a low profile as they made their way through the busy terminal in their casual attire.
While Zoe was in the Big Apple for the Met Ball, she made an appearance on SiriusXM radio show's Sway in the Morning to promote her upcoming mini-series ?Rosemary?s Baby.?
During her interview, Zoe revealed the craziest place she?s done the deed. "The craziest place -- I am a part of the Mile High Club," the 35-year-old admitted.
"Okay this is ghetto, but hey I'm from Queens so whatever. There is a train from Coney Island [New York] all the way back into the city, and it was between two train cars. It was super ghetto." She added: "But I'm a lady now."

Gearing up for another year of excellence from the Metropolitan Museum of Art?s Costume Institute, Zoe Saldana was in the house for the 2014 Met Gala tonight (May 5).
Fans and shutterbugs alike clamored to catch a glimpse as the ?Star Trek? star meandered around the arrivals area in a Michael Kors gown, which was accessorized with Jack Vartanian jewels and Christian Louboutin heels, chatting with other famous folks.
This year, the Met Gala celebrates legendary American couturier Charles James, who has a whole exhibit called ?Charles James: Beyond Fashion? to pay tribute to his vast contributions over the years.
One of fashion?s top names Zac Posen sang Mr. James? praises in a recent interview- "James' balance of structure, glamour and technique...he was a scientist as well as an emotional artist, and the pieces are elegant, glamorous and erotic. I have had a sneak peek of the exhibit, and it looks spectacular.?

| Zoe Saldana in the 'Rosemary's Baby' remake trailer: worse than expected' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Way back in January, we heard about Zoe Saldana’s new starring role in a remake of Rosemary’s Baby. The original 1968 film was adapted by Roman Polanski and based upon the book by Ira Levin. The movie (not the director) was a sweeping majesty of atmosphere and characterization. There was never a reason to remake this movie on either the big or small screens, but NBC couldn’t resist crafting a miniseries from the story. Seriously, they’re going to hammer four hours out of this mess.
From the looks of things, this remake makes several detours from Polanski’s classic adaptation. Zoe reprises the Mia Farrow role and plays a pregnant wife who finds out she’s carrying the spawn of Satan. The husband’s profession has changed from actor to writer, and the setting has moved from NYC to Paris. Creepy neighbors with an ulterior motive are still present. Whether or not you’ve seen the original movie, I think you’ll agree that NBC wasted its efforts with this trailer:
Poor Zoe. She’s wearing an awful wig, and this is a silly remake. I have to wonder why Zoe’s agent okayed her signing onto a television remake in the first place. Zoe may not technically be an A-list star, but she’s starred in several high profile movies. She’s part of the Avatar and Star Trek franchises and has a plum role in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy. She’s done some indie cred movies. I don’t get why she’d gain anything from a network remake of a horror movie? This movie looks like it spent all of its budget on casting. The lighting and atmosphere are terrible, and the sound effects (as revealed) do not lend any suspense. As Vulture notes, the screenwriters couldn’t even get the grammar right in the trailer.
Here’s Zoe on set in January in Paris. She’s acting, not crying for real. Yet.

Zoe Saldana covers the latest issue of Net-a-Porter magazine. I think she’s promoting her role in Guardians of the Galaxy. She doesn’t talk about that movie, which is a wasted opportunity. Da ladies are hot for Rocket Racoon. I’m assuming that Zoe and her ex-boyfriend, Bradley Cooper (who only did voice work for Rocket), did not cross paths on set. If they did, that would be supremely awkward. But I doubt it happened. Maybe they’ll see each other at the premieres, which would be interesting.
Zoe’s shoot is gorgeous. She wears all sorts of confections from the Oscar de la Renta, Valentino, and Thakoon. The interview isn’t as pointedly judgy as Zoe’s usual magazine jabber. Zoe talks about dumping her gym stints and raves about J.J. Abrams. Everyone loves J.J. Abrams, so that’s no surprise. Zoe also addresses her quickie marriage to Italian artist Marco Perego (they dated for five months). I’m simply grateful she didn’t talk about her jar-opening skills again. Here are some excerpts:
Her low-key wedding ceremony: “I’m not a private person, but I am discreet, so it felt right. I’m fortunate to be challenged by an artist who also pushes himself.”
On working with J.J. Abrams for the Star Trek movies: “It’s great to work with women. But it’s very awe-inspiring when you meet a man who has absolute neutrality with a woman. It?s a rarity, but to work with men that give you that respect…”
She’s not into gym culture any

Admiring the style of the original film, Zoe Saldana is entertaining the thought of getting a pixie cut for the remake of "Rosemary's Baby."
Speaking with E!, the "Avatar" star shared, "They did it so well. It's not about imitating what they did. I think it's about focusing more on the book and trying to get the best Rosemary that I can think of."
When asked about the iconic horror haircut, the 35-year-old actress admitted, "It's been tempting."
Airing on NBC the four-hour miniseries will be directed by Agienszka Holland and is still searching for actors to play Rosemary's husband and the Devil.
