Zoe Saldana nabbed on the Elle’s Women in Hollywood covers for November. She camouflaged her bump in a flouncy Lanvin dress that looks like a sparkly Muppet. Even though Zoe doesn’t want us to invade her privacy she recently confirmed to E! Online that she’s having twins with Marco Perego. Actually, she didn’t use the “t” word. She talked about Halloween and said, “I might need three costumes. I might have to make some adjustments, but it would be nice.” Zoe and Marco are about to have their hands full.
Jessica Lange and Annette Bening were profiled in this issue too, so here are some excerpts from them as well as Zoe. Are we still pretending that Zoe’s Nina Simone movie will see the light of day? That’s not a knock against Zoe. The film has been in production for years. Zoe says she was the only actress brave enough for the role:
Zoe was reluctant to play Nina: “I actually encouraged [them] to cast someone else. But she came to me and said that everybody was afraid, and I thought, ‘Sh-t, then how can we complain that there aren’t enough films about African-American iconic figures?’”
Zoe on if she always knew she?d make it “That?s how those seven years my sisters and I spent on a bohemian island played very well. We?re not American in terms of feeding into that machine that you have to be somebody. We were somebody the moment we were born.?
Jessica on veering away from glamorous roles “I never really thought of myself in those terms. When you?re young, you just take your beauty for granted. Sometimes I think, ‘Sh-t, I should have done that film!’ But it?s a passing thought. I played the parts I wanted to play. I do have regrets about films I shouldn?t have done, which took me away from my children. That’s the only real regret–time wasted.”
Annette on what surprised her about acting: “That movies would allow me to start and stop in a way that so many people couldn?t. I always wanted kids, and I took years off when my kids were little, and I still do completely withdraw. It?s been a way of saving myself and saving the work.”

Jessica Lange is the boss. She frames her career in an interesting way: No regrets for the roles she’s skipped, but she does lament the roles that wasted her time. I hope she doesn’t regret Tootsie. Annette’s perspective is refreshing too. She’s grateful for her career and being able to take time away for her family. Jessica and Annette are legends. We’ll see what happens with Zoe’s career in the years to come.

With twin buns in the oven, it?s only natural that Zoe Saldana was craving some delicious sweets on Wednesday afternoon (October 8).
Looking to score the good stuff, the ?Avatar? actress headed over to Magnolia Bakery where she picked up a large to-go bag full of baked goods.
And Zoe was so thrilled about the score that she posted a message to her loyal followers via her official Instagram account.
Saldana stated, "I mean...Absolutely obsessed with #MagnoliasBakery - of course lately I have my reasons, but #WTF! It's just so good. #picoftheday #amazing."

After enjoying the fashion week festivities, Zoe Saldana stepped out in New York City earlier this afternoon (September 11).
The soon-to-be mommy showed off her growing baby bump in a casual grey t shirt as she toted her coveted Chanel bag and took a stroll around the Big Apple.
As previously reported by GossipCenter, Zoe's "Crossroads" co-star Britney Spears accidentally spilled the beans that the expecting star is, indeed, welcoming twins.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the "Oops I Did it Again" singer was asked if she and Zoe would ever do another movie together to which Brit replied, ?Who knows? That?s a very good idea. But she?s pregnant with twins right now. So I?m sure she?s got a huge future ahead of her.?

Zoe Saldana covers the September issue of Cosmo for Latinas to promote Guardians of the Galaxy. The movie performed very well on opening weekend, which means Zoe’s stock will rise even further. She has so many successful sci-fi franchises in her pocket. She will start working on the Avatar sequels after she gives birth (although we’re not supposed to mention her pregancy because that’s an invasion of privacy). There will be more Star Trek in her future too. That’s so wild to me. Zoe can kick butt, but she’s not a very good dramatic actress. I guess she doesn’t have to be.
This interview covers several topics. Zoe calls herself “a thug as opposed to “a girly girl.” That statement’s a bit confusing since she made such a big deal about how she’s “a lady.” Zoe also talks about her stock as an actress. Plus some stuff about what makes a man attractive and how she can tell if someone is good in bed:
On public image: “An actress is like a stock. When you’re in high demand because you have three movies coming out or you’ve gone through a breakup, you’ll look outside your window and see photographers. But you can also live a very anonymous life if you choose.”
As a black Latina, is she compared to other actresses? “I’m sure I’m compared to everything behind closed doors. Now that I’m a producer — and I’ve been in the director’s chair as well, for my Rosemary’s Baby remake — I sympathize with what producers go through. We’re in the business of making movies, and sometimes you have to make political decisions that get in the way of the art.”
Being a woman in Hollywood: “Throughout history, for every five doors that have opened for a man, only one has opened for a woman. So the moment another woman comes along — especially a younger one — she gets picked on instead of embraced. I’m 35, and I don’t want to be afraid of the 22-year-olds. I’m actually in a better place than they are.”
Life is better than it was a few years ago: “At 35, you make better choices in men or partners, divorce people and situations that are not right for you, and learn to say ‘no’ with a smile.”
Does she have good girlfriends? “I’m definitely not a girly-girl; my sisters and I are thugs! Sometimes we don’t even know how to console each other. We’ll be like [pretends to pat her sister on the shoulder], ‘Wanna go get a tattoo?’ Our husbands remind us of how feminine we are, but even they don’t know what we’re really like when we’re together.”
Will her children learn Spanish? “Of course [our children] will speak the languages that [Marco and I] speak; my sisters and I grew up learning French and speaking English and Spanish, and because of that, we’re able to understand Italian and Portuguese. But I’m going to have to make a conscious effort to speak Spanish to my children, because I speak Spanglish.”
What makes a man attractive: “A man who has a natural respect for women — I don’t want a man who worships me: Stay away from those. Worshipping doesn’t count as really seeing me. I like men who work with women, are challenged by women, learn from women.”
What makes a good sex life: “To be uninhibited. I’m not talking about bringing in a third person or watching pr0n all night: That’s what leads people to believe they are amazing in bed when they’re the worst ever. Pr0nography is not sex education — it’s the opposite! Don’t allow insecurities to close you off. Be creative.”

I’m so used to Zoe shading Bradley Cooper that I keep reading more shade into all her quotes about relationships and sex. Zoe’s saying that she makes “better choices in men” than she did a few years ago. That was probably about BCoop. Is she also saying he’s “the worst ever” in bed? Nah. I’m reading too much into that quote. Zoe dated other guys before BCoop (one of them for a decade). Surely, she’s not saying that Mr. Serial Killer Eyes is awful in bed. Great, now I’ve wasted thought on what BCoop is like in the sack.
Zoe paid a visit to David Letterman last week. She talked about her ten tattoos. Zoe says she gets her friends and family drunk, takes them to tattoo parlors, and talks them into bad body art. But she makes very sober choices for her own tattoos. How rude.

These are assorted photos of Zoe Saldana out and about to promote Guardians of the Galaxy. Someone asked yesterday why I’m talking so much about Chris Pratt and Zoe instead of focusing on co-stars like Vin Diesel. I would love to talk about Vin Diesel, but his interviews are pretty blah right now. He’s been walking around on stilts too. Vin’s hot, but stilts are not newsworthy. Sorry to the Vin fans.
Anyway, Zoe looks super pregnant in these photos, but we’re not supposed to talk about that. I still agree with her about general privacy expectations for pregnant women, but she can’t expect to hide a bump like that in form-fitting dresses. And she still needs to tell her friends and family to stop talking to the press.
Zoe did a feature with Women’s Health UK where she posed nude (you can see those photos here). She’s lean and mean (obviously pre-preg) and doesn’t have an ounce of fat on her. Zoe still admits that she worries about her changing body:
Her changing body: “My body is less toned. I do look in the mirror and see things I don’t want. My first reaction is I breathe and I think, ‘I’m a woman, I’m 36, my body is changing.’ This past year I’ve had to start letting go. My body dictated it as if saying, ‘Slow the f— down!’ … And I struggle with that. I love to be an athlete.”
She’s okay with it, really: “I’ve learnt to listen to myself, so whenever I don’t feel like doing anything that starts with ‘I should’ then I don’t. I’m exactly where I want to be. I do feel beautiful in a way that even when I was working out a whole lot, I sometimes didn’t. Because there have been times that I was really slender and I didn’t like that I sometimes looked a little too muscular and flat chested – you’ll never be completely happy, so at the end of the day it’s like ‘F— it. Just be happy, regardless.’”
On the amazing Marco: “We give each other a great deal of support and love but it wasn’t because we found it in each other, we came that way and then got together. That’s what I love about it. I do believe whatever’s meant to be will be – but had the universe said, Let’s just wait, he’s going to come into your life later,’ I would’ve been fine on this journey I was on just knowing who the f— I was.”

Zoe’s words come off as little obnoxious since she’s posing naked and looks absolutely fantastic. She’s humblebragging a bit, you know? I get that we all look in the mirror and can see room for improvement, but Zoe has made a tidy living from being a hot-bodied babe. I want to give her some credit for admitting that she worries about her body, yet Zoe’s words seem a little vague and like a put on. She’s not digging deep like Chris Pratt did yesterday. Am I being too harsh?

Proudly showing off her growing baby bump, Zoe Saldana stopped by the set of ?Good Morning America? on Monday (July 28) to promote ?Guardians of the Galaxy.?
The 36-year-old actress donned a burgundy dress with nude pumps as she waved to her awaiting fan base and headed inside to chat with George Stephanopoulos about the upcoming Marvel film.
While she remained mum on her pregnancy, Zoe did dish out plenty of fun details about portraying Gamora in the film, including her inspiration for fight scenes.
While speaking about how her character?s moves are based off of bull fighting, Saldana said, ?It was the most graceful form of dance? it was at the time when I was wondering if I was going to do ?Guardians? and I thought, ?oh my God I should, and she should totally be a bull fighter.?
And when asked about why she loves filming movies based in space (Zoe is also in the ?Avatar? and ?Star Trek? series), she said, ?I?ve always had an affinity for the unknown and imagining the unimaginable.?

This month has seen tons of media speculation about Zoe Saldana’s uterus. She was wearing overalls and loose clothing for weeks, which was a huge tip off. Zoe never said anything herself, but one of Zoe’s friends gave an exclusive to Us Weekly last Monday. Then multiple sources revealed to E! that Zoe and husband Marco Perego were expecting twins.
Zoe has already revealed a visible bump on the Guardians of the Galaxy red carpets, but she’s still furious that people are talking about her pregnancy. She whipped out her bitch on Twitter about it: “I would like to thank all the f—ing media for invading our privacy.”
Did you hear that? Now the media has “disrespected” Zoe. The thing is, she’s correct in a way. As much as I’d like to give Zoe a hard time for throwing attitude, she does have a right to complain about this. Celebrities implicitly agree to give up a certain amount of privacy when they seek out fame. Pregnancy is a delicate matter though. Especially in the early stages when things can go wrong. Any pregnant woman should have the right to announce her pregnancy when she decides to do so.
Zoe has balls for tweeting out against the media in the middle of a press tour. And with added profanity to boot. That part wasn’t very classy. She does need to figure out which of her friends are leaking to the press. Plug those holes, girl.

Zoe Saldana covers the newest issue of Hollywood Reporter to promote her role as a green-skinned assassin in Guardians of the Galaxy. Before I hop into the interview, here’s an update on Zoe’s pregnancy. She’s reportedly three months pregnant, and some of you thought she looked further along at Monday’s premiere. There’s a good reason for that. E! news has spoken to multiple sources who say Zoe is pregnant with twins. Wow. Marco Perego had better buckle up. Twins are a huge undertaking. They just got married last year, and they have another big lifestyle adjustment coming their way. Zoe is reportedly “thrilled.” In about a year, she’ll be reportedly “exhausted.”
This interview is bitchy in a Zoe way. She calls out Hollywood elitism and “people disrespecting me.” Disrespect seems to be the theme of this press tour. She calls out Hollywood for not giving females roles other than accessory wives or girlfriends. I agree with Zoe on that point. She also goes off on the “political” nature of film sets, but really, most jobs are like that to a point. There are many other topics of discussion here. The reasons why she married Marco are interesting:
On her Pirates of the Caribbean movie: “Those weren’t the right people for me. I’m not talking about the cast. The cast was great. I’m talking about the political stuff that went on behind closed doors. It was a lot of above-the-line versus below-the-line, extras versus actors, producers versus PAs. It was very elitist. I almost quit the business. I was 23 years old, and I was like, ‘F— this!’ I am never putting myself in this situation again. People disrespecting me because they look at my number on a call sheet and they think I’m not important. F— you.”
On being sci-fi eye candy: “That’s true of every genre. Eighty percent of what’s out there is told through the point of view of a male. I can sit down with so many filmmakers for so many projects and play so many actors’ girlfriends or wives. But in sci-fi, I can play Gamora. She was taken from her planet when she was a child and forced into a life of violence and crime. She reminds me of the lost kids of Sudan, the boys who are taken from their family and have to come back to their villages and shoot everybody. Even though it’s a Marvel movie, I take it all very seriously.”
She almost broke Chris Pratt’s ribs: “I almost kicked him in the nuts. He was like (in a high-pitched voice), ‘It’s fine, it’s fine.’ I love that about men. They’re determined to maintain their dignity. Even when they’re crushed.”
On marrying Marco after a few months: “No! I’ve known my partner for five years. I knew of his work. I knew of him. Then we met. And months later, we both made the decision to do what we both individually vowed never to do — to get married. Why get married? Because I believe in love? Because I don’t want my kids to be called bast-rds? No. Those reasons are not natural to me. Maybe for tax reasons I would have done it.”
Her mom mistook Thandie Newton for Zoe? “That’s true. She saw a poster for Crash and called me to ask me why I didn’t tell her I was in a movie with Matt Dillon. I’ve gotten Kerry Washington and Jada Pinkett, too, but mainly Thandie. People ask me if I’m offended that I’m confused with every other black actress out there. ‘Doesn’t it bother you that people think you’re all the same person?’ No. Because one time I entered a restaurant and there were all these beautiful blond girls around a table, probably all from Orange County. It felt like it might have been a high school reunion or something. There were like 20 beautiful girls, but they were all the same. I couldn’t tell any of them apart.”
Is Hollywood getting better about race? “I don’t want to spend my life thinking about all the impossibilities I face when I wake up in the morning. But the reality is, I’m a woman of color in America. That itself is enough for you to wake up and go, ‘Oh, f—!’”
Race doesn’t matter as much in sci-fi: “You know why? Because the people we discriminate against in sci-fi movies are the aliens. We make them the villains. We have to make somebody bad.”

I tried not to laugh at the part about Chris Pratt’s balls, which was hard because my inner 15-year-old found it funny. The stuff about “knowing” Marco for five years through his art is bizarre. Does Zoe really think she knew him incredibly well before even meeting him? One of his “best known works” is a creepy portrait of the Seven Dwarves. That painting is pretty tame. I googled and found a very NSFW piece of “art” that shows a topless Minnie Mouse getting choked. There’s another one that shows Peter Pan‘s Tinkerbell and Wendy uh … akimbo. You can find those for yourself. I guess now we know more about Zoe’s taste in art and how well she knew Marco before meeting him.

Zoe Saldana looked a little “bumpy” at Monday night’s Guardians of the Galaxy premiere. I didn’t mention it because no one cared about the grand pregnancy speculation a few weeks ago. And I figured Zoe didn’t want to discuss it yet. Now she does want to talk about it, sort of. To promote the movie? One of Zoe’s friends confirmed to Us Weekly that Zoe is three months pregnant, and she’s thrilled: “Zoe has always wanted a big family, and Marco’s on board too!” Marco’s manbun is on board, as it should be. Congrats are in order, and Zoe will soon join the ranks of celeb mothers who think they’re the first person to give birth.
This next part is more interesting to me. Zoe spoke with People on the red carpet. Topics of discussion included … Marco. He is so wonderful, and he tattooed Zoe’s face on his bod:
Her awful past relationships: “I hate the sensation that you have when you get home and you think, ‘I’m a coward. I didn’t speak up. I didn’t defend myself. I didn’t say no.’ I wanted to please others more than I wanted to please myself, and I [would] find myself embarrassed to look in the mirror. I promised myself, by my own will, that I’m not going to do it anymore.”
True love with Marco: “We found each other, and it was that desire and not that necessity that put us together. I’m where I wanted to be when I would look at myself and say, ‘I just have a feeling that it’s going to get better, that I’m going to find who I truly am more and more, and I’m going to stick to that road.’ I’m very happy that it happened before I met him, because I didn’t want somebody to give me the answers that I should find for myself.”
Perego tattooed Zoe’s face on his arm: “It was the most romantic thing! I didn’t stop him, but I did sort of try to talk him out of it. I’ve done crazier things than that, and I’m pretty sure he has, too.”

All that stuff about Zoe feeling disrespected by men is stuff she’s talked about already. Marco is a different type of guy than her exes. She was with her ex-fianc for a decade. Then came the mess with BCoop. When she hooked up with Marco, she knew he was The One. I don’t judge their swift marriage, but I do judge a man who will tattoo their woman’s face on his body. Isn’t that a little creepy?

Zoe Saldana covers the August issue of Marie Claire to promote Guardians of the Galaxy. The photoshoot is very fresh and pretty. Zoe looks gloriously triumphant and like she’s finally comfortable posing in front of a camera. I’ve noticed that photographers often don’t know what to do with Zoe. They’re often like, “Hey, pose awkwardly with this chair.” This is a much more natural looking shoot. Well done.
The interview is a bit odd. The article promises that Zoe “will hand you your ass on a silver platter.” Less talking, more doing. Zoe does a lot of talking here. She runs the gamut of topics to convince us that she’s a badass. You know what? She is a badass in some of her films. Columbiana was a cinematic misfire, but Zoe was pretty fierce. She’s playing the most notorious assassin in the universe, Gamora, in Guardians. So here are some “badass” quotes. I actually agree with a lot of what she’s saying here:
On hubby Marco Perego: “I don’t do the ABCs. I do what my heart says, what my heart feels. So from the moment I met my husband, we were together. We knew.”
What she’s learned about relationships: “Not to settle. If you’re not happy with a person, leave. And wait until you find that one person who makes you feel good about yourself every single day and is not expecting you to change, but to grow.”
On disrespect: “I have been in relationships where a man has disrespected me, and I don’t need to be friends with that man anymore. I don’t want to be the one going, ‘I’m cool, because I’m friends with all my exes.’ There’s a reason why you’re called an ex. I crossed you off my list. Moving on. You cross a line, you need to know that you’re going to walk this earth knowing that there’s an individual who has no respect for you.”
Her dream roles: “I would love to play Nefertiti or Cleopatra or the Queen of Sheba. We preserve more male history than we do female. We have to preserve it. No more complaining. We have to do it.”
Her personality: She describes herself as an “iron-fisted lady,” a woman who “will not take any bullsh-t,” and someone who was known during her teenage years as a “bad seed.” “You cross me as a lady, it’s over,” she says, dark eyes flashing.
Growing up in Dominican Republic: “I had many female bullies growing up who wanted us to be submissive and to follow and to kiss ass, and that’s the last thing any Saldana will ever do, honestly.”
Her refuge: “I love coming to New York because my family is here. But I’m always busy working, so I make them all come sleep over with me. They bring their pillows, and we get extra beds. My grandma lies on the couch. It’s just delicious.”

Let’s get the Cleopatra talk out of the way. Zoe will never play that character no matter how badly she wants it. There would be so much criticism from such casting news that it would never happen.
I do agree with Zoe about cutting off ex-boyfriends who disrespect. It’s harder to cut off spouses in such situations. Marriage is always more complicated, especially when kids are involved. When it’s just a boyfriend and there are no children? Cut that sucker loose and don’t pretend to be friends. Zoe had a 10-year relationship with Keith Britton before she hooked up with Bradley Cooper. I don’t know if Keith “disrespected” Zoe, but I have a hunch that she is talking directly to BCoop. Just look at what Jennifer Esposito had to say about him.
