Enjoying an afternoon out in sunny Los Angeles on Wedenesday (November 7), Leighton Meester proudly showed off an adorable, new hairdo.
Stylishly dressed in a short, flower printed dress, the ?Gossip Girl? gal sported a short bob cut as she took care of some errands and lunched with a guy friend.
As for the shorter coif, the 26-year-old - whose long locks became famously tied to Blair Waldorf character - didn't waste any time making the change once wrapping up the CW drama's final season.
"I chopped off my hair after 'Gossip Girl' wrapped... My long, wavy hair got a lot of mileage, so it was time for a change," Meester explained.

Leighton Meester covers the October issue of Cosmo UK ? the cover shot is awful, but I like the rest of the photo shoot. I?ve always wanted Leighton to get more attention in general ? I think she?s very pretty, and as for her acting talent? well, she?s no better or worse than Blake Lively. So why is it that Blake Lively is considered to be on the cusp of A-List (if not already A-List) while Leighton seems more like a B-list Also-Ran? Is it just a question of hustle? I don?t know. But I always like Leighton?s interviews more than Blake?s too ? Leighton has had a hard life, and she comes across as a more world-weary young woman. Some highlights from the Cosmo piece:
On not wearing makeup: ?I don?t care if there are a million pictures of me with no makeup. I love being able to walk down the street without it. We should promote women not having to wear makeup, or at least feel we can go out without it.?
On comparing her style to Blair Waldorf?s: ?I?ve never seen Blair with the same bag, coat or shoes twice. I don?t know anyone who had that. I had two pairs of jeans [when I was a teenager] that I rotated. I wouldn?t trust myself with a Prada brag! I didn?t even want to change for gym so I?d wear sweatpants over my jeans, then sweat around the track for an hour.?
On being awkward around people: ?If I?m not around close friends or family, I can get quiet and awkward, and it probably comes off as not very nice or just plain weird! It?s not meant to. I try to pull myself out of it but sometimes it?s hard for me to open up. In the past it was easier for me to trust people. Nowadays I judge pretty quickly: ?You just want to be my friend because I?m on a TV show.??
Body image: ‘I wish I was stronger and more flexible. But I can always say, “I?d love my body if my legs were thinner, I?d love my hair if it were thicker.” You can do things to change the way you look, but it?s good to just say, “I love myself in this moment.”? As soon as you stop getting pimples, you start getting wrinkles, so what?s there to be upset about?’
The end of Gossip Girl: ‘It?s good that we?re going out on a high note, but I?m ready to move on. It?ll probably be a challenge, for a time, to fight against that character ? I won?t play an overprivileged girl any time soon! But I?ll never forget Gossip Girl.’

I love what she says about being seen without makeup. I?m a gossip blogger and everything, but I hate when I see sites picking on women for looking ?awful? when the celebrity women are simply not wearing makeup in a casual setting. I mean, obviously, I think makeup application is an art, and if you?re walking on a red carpet, you should probably be wearing some makeup (concealer, foundation, powder, etc). But in a casual outing? Go without. It?s not the end of the world.

Making a stunning entrance to tonight?s (June 3) festivities, Leighton Meester was spotted arriving at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards.
The ?Gossip Girl? beauty looked gorgeous in Christian Cota on the red carpet as she posed and smiled for the awaiting photographers before heading inside to get ready to take the stage as one of the night?s many presenters.
Sure to be quite the fun-filled affair, this year's MTV Movie Awards are being hosted by British comedic actor Russell Brand and will boast performances from The Black Keys, fun. and Wiz Khalifa.
Making the night even more memorable, Emma Stone will receive the first annual Trailblazer Award honoring a bright Hollywood newbie while Johnny Depp is set to be honored with the MTV Generation Award for over four decades worth of movie magic.

Enjoying the beautiful weather and surroundings, Leighton Meester looked to be in good spirits on the beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Saturday (April 14).
Joined by her boyfriend Aaron Himelstein, the ?Gossip Girl? actress wasn?t afraid to plant a few smooches on her man.
And of course, Miss Meester looked smoking hot in her multi-color two-piece bikini as she frolicked in the the sand and sun.
Leighton and Aaron had previously dated back in 2007 after falling in love on the set of their project ?Remember the Daze.?

Taking a break from her busy life in the States, Leighton Meester was spotted out with a new gentleman caller in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil today (April 13).
The ?Gossip Girl? starlet looked thrilled to have the attention of her beau as she went on a sightseeing tour of Rio?s Christ The Redeemer hilltop statue.
Earlier this month, Ms. Meester got swabbed as part of a blood cancer awareness drive called Share the Love by DKMS in New York City.
Leighton explained, "Share the Love is an altruistic idea of love?it's about giving the gift of life to a stranger. You can register as a donor by going to GetSwabbed.org. It's easy, and the more people who get swabbed and are willing to donate, the more lives we can save -- and that's pretty incredible."

I always thought that Leighton Meester could be Rachel McAdams? sister. And then I thought she looked just like Minka Kelly. And nowadays, with her current bangs situation, doesn?t she look like Rose Byrne? Anyway, Leighton covers the new issue of Marie Claire? for some reason. Gossip Girl, maybe. I like Leighton a great deal – I think she?s very pretty and out of the Gossip Girl cast, she?s the better actress. But she doesn?t even get a fraction of the attention Blake Lively gets. Why is that? Is it because Blake?s hustle is just so magnificent, or is it because Leighton?s hustle is barely there? I don?t know. Arriving to check out some of the upcoming trends, Leighton Meester was spotted front row at the Vera Wang Fall 2012 fashion show during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City on Tuesday (February 14).
The ?Gossip Girl? beauty looked stunning in a mini-dress and heels and chatted with press while waiting for the highly-anticipated show to start.
Also in the house at The Stage at Lincoln Center was ?The Help? actress Viola Davis, who parked it right next to the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour.
As for Miss Meester, coming up on the next episode of ?Gossip Girl,? Blair tries to prove Serena?s suspicions wrong in order to save their friendship.
The episode entitled ?Cross Rhodes? airs next Monday at 8/7c.

Getting down to work on their show ?Gossip Girl,? Blake Lively and Leighton Meester were spotted on the New York City set today (December 14).
The CW costars filmed scenes outdoors, one of which involved Blake and Leighton getting into an argument just before Lively hails a cab and drives off in a huff.
In between takes, Ms. Lively entertained herself by taking pictures of a man walking his dog while wearing a New York Yankees ballcap.
Speaking of dogs, Blake brought both her dog Penny and her boyfriend Ryan Reynolds? beloved pooch Baxter with her to the set yesterday.

Everyone is talking about Blake Lively at the 100th episode Gossip Girlparty what with her being blonde, having big boobs and wearing a semi-see-through dress but they should be talking about Leighton Meester as well. She isn’t blonde, doesn’t have as big boobs and didn’t wear a see-through dress, but damned if she’s not trying. She looked fantastic in her low cut outfit. I think all the other cast members should follow their lead. I’m looking at you Pnn Badgley, Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick. Tits or GTFO.
