I know that about five people are going to care about this story, but when I read this news on Radar Online I actually smiled wildly and that did happy “stiff clap” thing that would have been embarrassing if anyone were to witness it. I love Adam Brody from his OC days, and I have a lot of fondness for Leighton Meester, and how low-key she is. Leighton is of course from Gossip Girl, and unlike her co-stars she hasn’t tried to hustle her way into our lives, and she doesn’t have much to prove. So together these two make me really happy. I wish there were more photos of them together, but that just goes to show how under the radar they are. Here’s more on their engagement, which comes after less than a year of dating:
?Leighton and Adam are crazy about each other and have talked about getting married eventually,? an insider tells Star. ?But she had no idea he would propose so soon! It was the surprise of her life and she?s ecstatic!?
Adam, 33, and Leighton, 27, have been friends for years, getting close in 2011 while co-starring in the independent film, The Oranges. In January they took their relationship to the next level and were soon spotted taking in art exhibits at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and traveling together through Bangkok in February.
Adam previously dated director Lorene Scafaria in 2010 and his co-star on The O.C., Rachel Bilson, for three years. Leighton was most recently linked to actor Aaron Himelstein, which followed her 2-year relationship with Gossip Girl co-star Sebastian Stan ending in 2010.
?Right now their plan is to get married next summer,? adds the insider. ?They are still deciding if they want a destination wedding or if they?ll marry in Southern California somewhere.?
While there are no plans for children in the immediate future the couple do have two dogs together, Penny Lane and Trudy.

Well the source is Star Magazine, but it’s not like they’re actively trying to dig up news on Adam and Leighton, so I believe it. I loved that detail about how they have two dogs together, and their dogs’ names are creative and cute. I hope this is true and that they’re planning on marrying next summer! I would also love to see just one wedding photo, but I doubt that’s going to happen. Neither of them seems particularly into the Hollywood scene.

They have excellent chemistry off-screen, so Leighton Meester and boyfriend Adam Brody are looking to see how well their romance translates onto film.
The ?Gossip Girl? actress and her handsome beau will both star in the upcoming movie ?Life Partners? along with Gabourey Sidibe, Gillian Jacobs, and Abby Elliott.
When Leighton and Adam first costarred in a film together (?The Oranges?) in 2011 things seemed to go pretty well.
?Life Partners? is about a girl name Paige who vows not to get married until her lesbian friend Sasha has the same legal right.

Keeping her body in tip-top shape, a fresh-faced Leighton Meester went to a yoga class in Los Angeles on Friday (March 22).
The "Gossip Girl" star looked cute in a white tank top, blue workout tights, and sneakers as she carried her water bottle back to her car.
Lately, the 26-year-old actress has been spotted out and about all over town with "O.C." star Adam Brody.
Last month, Leighton tried to hide the budding romance by ducking behind the seat when being photographed in Adam's car.

Looking to stay in primo shape while out on the West Coast, Leighton Meester showed up at a Yoga studio in Hollywood yesterday afternoon (March 10).
The former ?Gossip Girl? starlet looked a bit worn out as she exited the center and stopped by a fuel station for some Advil to soothe her aching muscles, sporting a grunge-inspired plaid shirt tied around her waist.
Leighton has been a busy girl as of late, having begun filming her brand new movie ?God Only Knows? along with Harvey Keitel and Ben Barnes.
Per the synopsis, ?Nick Tortano is a smooth-talking, ambitious criminal from the streets of Boston. After years spent working for and idolizing the Italian gangsters he finally proves himself to the boss and becomes a made man. With Valentine?s Day right around the corner, love is in the air for Adam Brody and Leighton Meester according to reports by Us Weekly on Tuesday (February 5).
The pair met in 2011 on the set of the film ?The Oranges? and have been hanging out and secretly dating for weeks.
Though they have been keeping their budding relationship out of the limelight, the couple has already been traveling together.
Last Friday (February 1) the lovebirds took in an exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and went to Bangkok earlier this year.

The "Gossip Girl" star showed off her svelte frame in a black tank top, gray cardigan, black leggings, and gray Uggs as she carried her lunch back to her car.
While her hit CW series may have ended, the 26-year-old actress is already hard at work on a movie project.
