Here are some photos from the annual Art of Elysium gala, held every year during Golden Globes weekend. The gala used to be one of the few major red carpets the night before the Globes, but now there are so many events on Saturday, the annual gala keeps getting lighter and lighter with big-name celebrities. The biggest get – arguably – for this year?s gala was Amber Heard. Amber flew solo for the gala, even though she probably just returned to LA after vacationing with on-again boyfriend Elon Musk in Chile for New Year?s. Amber wore a Georges Hobeika gown to the Art of Elysium gala – I find this meh. I would have loved to see her in a brighter color.
Rooney Mara wore Givenchy Spring 2018. I dislike this, and Rooney doesn?t seem too pleased with it either, but then again, she never seems pleased with anything. Wouldn?t this be so much better without the ?nude? cutouts? Like, imagine that was just black lace. It would have been a better look.
Rooney?s boyfriend Joaquin Phoenix attended the event too, but he walked the carpet with his sisters, Rain and Summer Phoenix. Also: he wore jeans to the gala. *eyeroll*
Shailene Woodley wore an Elie Saab Fall 2017 cocktail dress which? it?s different, for her. I?m shocked by the fact that she doesn?t look like she wandered onto the red carpet from her woodland habitat. I hate the sleeves here.
Chrissy Teigen is pregnant, and she covered her bump with feathers, beads and sparkles in this Pamella Roland gown. She has showgirl-style, but it kind of suits her.

Here are some photos from the big Justice League premiere last night in LA. It was a mess, from top to bottom. It was a mess for fashion, it was a mess because the movie is absolutely going to be a trainwreck, and it was a mess because of whatever is happening to The Batfleck?s face. If I was the studio publicist for Warner Bros in charge of directing how this film is being promoted, I would have sent the Batfleck on vacation for a month and just asked Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa and Henry Cavill to do the heavy lifting. But that?s not happening. Anyway, let?s just run through these photos (this is in no way comprehensive). Here?s the Batfleck?s face. I?m assuming this is a combination of booze and Botox.
Here?s Amber Heard in Atelier Versace. I?ve been enjoying the Versace lines this year, but this dress is kind of boring, or is it just boring ON HER? I also think Amber is doing some Scarlett Johansson cosplay with that hair, because in the thumbnails, I honestly thought ?why is ScarJo at this premiere??
Gal Gadot wore this absolutely cheap-looking Altuzarra Spring 2018. To be clear, I love Gal and I love her as Wonder Woman, but I think we need to admit to ourselves that Gal needs a new stylist.
Here?s Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet. They recently got undercover married, which was surprising because I thought they were already married years ago. Can you imagine being married to Jason Momoa? My God.
I was disappointed to see that Henry Cavill didn?t walk the carpet with his new stuntwoman girlfriend. Hm. The weird mustache is, I believe, for another movie.

At the beginning of the summer, I would have said (and did say) that Amber Heard and Elon Musk were probably going to end up getting married. They seemed on track for that, becoming Instagram-official, then Amber spending time with his kids, then all of the stories about how Elon was crazy-enchanted with her, etc. Then in August, he seemingly dumped her. For several weeks, there was a stupid amount of back-and-forth, with Elon and Amber eventually claiming that the split was somewhat mutual and mostly based on location – Amber has been in Australia for months, working on Aquaman. I last paid attention to the story when Amber and Elon were seen out together, seemingly back together or just acknowledging their friends-with-benefits status. I actually thought there was a good chance Amber & Elon would be back together for-real soon enough. Instead, this happened:

I remember when Amber Heard and Johnny Depp were first getting started. His relationship with Vanessa Paradis – which was always more of a common-law marriage – was falling apart and there were widespread rumors that Depp had fallen for his pretty young costar, Amber. Most of the Depp-heads refused to acknowledge that Amber and Johnny were happening, though. I remember the comments, which showed up on every post: ?Isn?t she gay?? or ?didn?t she come out as a lesbian years ago?? etc. In fact, Amber never came out and said she was a lesbian. She said she was bisexual. She had girlfriends before Depp and she never made a secret about it. The bisexual label was one she gave herself and she has no regrets. She spoke at The Economist’s second annual Pride & Prejudice event on Thursday. Some quotes:
She never hid her bisexuality: “It was just not important or interesting enough to make headlines.” Heard publicly discussed her sexual orientation for the first time in 2010, but to her family and friends, she “was always out. I was an activist. I went to protests.” Funnily enough, she added, “I was never in. I was in a relationship and I never hid it and then my career and my life started to change…”
She called herself bisexual in 2010, in an interview with After Ellen: “I just answered honestly. I could tell by the look on this person’s face it was a big deal. My poor publicist. Then I realized the gravity of what I had done and why so many people?studio execs, agents, advisors?did not want this coming before my name. I became attached to a label. I’ve never seen myself defined by the person I’m with? I saw myself being in this unique position and having a unique responsibility. So, I bit the bullet.”
She was told that the ?bisexual? label was a problem for her career: ?As a leading lady, there’s a certain amount of wish fulfillment. I was asked ‘How is anyone going to invest in you romantically if they think you’re unavailable?’ I said, ‘Watch me do it.’”
She?s proud to see more actors coming out: “I stand here now amongst many of my romantic leading lady peers who are out and fluid. I’m one of many now, and I’m working. If we’re meant to reflect the world around us, the whole point of telling stories and reaching audiences is to challenge the status quo, to push the envelope. Not just to meet the status quo. We’re in a unique position to do this. We need to be actively pushing. If every gay man that I know personally in Hollywood came out tomorrow, then this would be a non-issue in a month. We have a long way to go.”

The only part that made me side-eye a little bit was this: ?I could tell by the look on this person’s face it was a big deal.? She came out as bisexual with After Ellen because it was a big deal to that site? That?s a little bit funny to me. I mean, I remember Amber Heard pre-Depp and I don?t want to say that she was an ambitious young actress looking to stand out from the crowd, but? she was. She didn?t come out publicly just because it meant so much to After Ellen. Plus, she gave a bunch of interviews and speeches about her sexuality that year. It wasn?t just one time, one statement, for one person’s benefit. Now, all that being said, she?s right – she never hid anything and she never lied. She?s always talked about her bisexuality with a shrug. Sort of like a proto-Kristen Stewart. And that is important, for queer women to have these kinds of role models, to see that women like Amber and K-Stew can still get work and have careers and more. Update: I misread the E! coverage and thought Amber was saying she came out on The Ellen Show and not After Ellen. My bad, I’m sorry.

In the heat of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp?s divorce drama last year, we heard some stories about Elon Musk. Apparently, Amber had met the Tesla billionaire several years ago and he perhaps became ?infatuated? with her. The Hollywood Reporter had the email evidence ? Elon was dying to spend time with her in any way but she had just started up with Johnny Depp at that point. Once Depp and Heard split up, Amber was reportedly spending some time with Elon in seemingly group situations, and it even seemed like Elon was looking out for her in small ways, letting her borrow his hotel room in Florida and such. Perhaps he was playing the waiting game, thinking that eventually she would be ready for him to formally romance her. Or maybe they were hooking up this whole time. Now the Daily Mirror claims that Elon and Amber are actually dating.
She was granted a well-publicized divorce from Johnny Depp last year amid shocking allegations. But it looks as though Amber Heard is starting 2017 with a new lease of life, after it was reported she is besotted with new rumoured flame Elon Musk. The American actress, 30, was first linked to the 34-year-old billionaire businessman last summer, after he was said to have pursued her for ‘years’.
A source told The Mirror: ‘Amber is over the moon about her divorce but she is even happier about being able to go public with Elon. She was telling friends over Christmas how smitten she is with Elon. They are already planning a lot of adventures together and she’s relieved she can move on with her life. It’s an exciting new chapter for both of them.’
MailOnline has contacted Amber’s representative for comment Elon, who is reportedly worth an eye-watering 9.2billion, was spotted in the company of Amber Heard multiple times in August amid reports the tech billionaire has had an interest in the newly divorced actress for years. The Hollywood Reporter spoke with a source who claims that Musk ‘became infatuated’ with Heard after the two appeared in the 2013 film Machete Kills. The duo did not have any scenes together or get a chance to meet on set, so Musk began to email director Robert Rodriguez repeatedly in hopes that he could set up a meeting between himself and the actress – despite the fact that she was with Johnny Depp at the time.

Whenever I think of Elon Musk?s love life, I always think of the Marie Claire essay written by his first ex-wife. That piece totally soured me on the idea that Elon is a catch. He may be brilliant ? in fact, I?m sure he is some kind of savant ? but he seems douchey in his romantic life. My hope is that Amber isn?t in the market for another husband, but if she wants to have fun and go on adventures with Elon, so be it.

You know what I enjoy? I enjoy the fact that Amber Heard has not gone into hiding following her divorce from Johnny Depp. Depp has thrown so much bulls?t her way, and it was obvious months ago that the divorce was quite a strain on Amber. But towards the end of 2016, she started going out more often, spending time with friends and walking a few red carpets. Good for her. Last night, she attended the Art of Elysium ?Heaven? gala honoring Stevie Wonder. One year ago, she attended the gala with Depp, and he looked half in the bag (if not fully in the bag). I hated her red satin gown last year, but I?m enjoying this beaded look. I can?t find the ID on it but CB and I think it?s Elie Saab? It?s pretty and flattering.
Camilla Belle in Schiaparelli. I like Camilla and I think she?s pretty, but she?s in desperate need of some volume around her face. This hair is too severe. The dress is okay (not my style but it?s cute). Camilla was honored along with Stevie Wonder for her volunteer work.
Hailey Baldwin in Jonathan Simkhai. Um? it?s a little bit much for who she is and the event, right? I would expect to see this on, like, Mariah Carey at the Grammys.
Meanwhile, I think Jaime King seems a bit underdressed. This Altuzarra dress seems like it would be more at home at a daytime fundraiser event rather than a gala.
Ashlee Simpson got it right in this Grace Loves Lace dress. Appropriate for a gala, not too ?LOOK AT ME!? and it?s actually flattering. Nice.
Chrissy Teigen in Jonathan Simkhai. Um?no. Granted, I absolutely loathe ruffles and I don?t understand why grown women want to look like antebellum curtains, but even if this dress wasn?t so RUFFLED, I would still think this is a bad dress.

This just makes me so sad. Earlier this week, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp finalized their divorce settlement after months of back-and-forth drama, accusations and more. It seemed like these past months were really hard on Amber, as Team Depp threw everything they could at her, calling her a liar, a golddigger, a crazy person and more. And in the end, Depp had to pay Amber $7 million. Folded into the settlement announcement was Amber?s announcement that she would donate money to domestic violence victims, but everyone was like, ?Oh, she just means she?s going to donate part of her settlement.? No. She donated the whole settlement.
Amber Heard has donated her full $7 million divorce settlement from Johnny Depp to charity.
“As described in the restraining order and divorce settlement, money played no role for me personally and never has, except to the extent that I could donate it to charity and, in doing so, hopefully help those less able to defend themselves,” Heard, 30, said in a Thursday statement obtained by PEOPLE. The actress added: “As reported in the media, the amount received in the divorce was $7 million and $7 million is being donated. This is over and above any funds that I have given away in the past and will continue to give away in the future.”
Heard added in her statement on Tuesday that the donation will be divided amongst a number of charities but with “a particular focus to stop violence against women” as well as the Children?s Hospital of Los Angeles, where Heard has worked as a volunteer for the past 10 years.
“I know these organizations will put the funds to good use and look forward to continuing to support them in the future. Hopefully, this experience results in a positive change in the lives of people who need it the most,” the actress concluded in her statement.

The final, classy ?f?k you? to Johnny Depp. It feels good and bad. It feels good because she?s literally putting her money where her mouth is ? she always maintained that it wasn?t about the money, and here are the receipts. It feels bad because that money was hers and many of us hoped that she would use that money to build a new life for herself. If any ex-wife deserved to walk away with a nice settlement, it?s Amber, and she shouldn?t let Depp?s ?she?s a lying golddigger? smear campaign affect her actions. Then again, much like the real estate issue, it?s possible that Amber wants to start her new life ?clean,? untouched by anything Depp-related.

I feel like this story is probably going to heat up this afternoon, so we?ll be updating if there are breaking developments. Amber Heard?s deposition was rescheduled for today, Friday, at 10 am PST. Amber was supposed to be deposed last weekend, and she did show up for the depo? almost two hours late. Then she reportedly cried and carried on and refused to sit for the depo for hours and hours. Allegedly. So everything was pushed back, and Amber was supposed to be deposed today, ahead of Johnny Depp and Amber?s new court appearance on August 17th. This whole time, the lawyers have been negotiating a settlement too, although they haven?t agreed on anything yet.
Well, Amber is reportedly not even going to make it to her deposition today in LA. She?s still in London, working. As TMZ notes: ?The consequences could be severe. Johnny Depp’s lawyers have already asked the judge to prohibit her from testifying in next week’s trial because she refused to go in the depo room last weekend and testify.? But then TMZ reported this:
Amber Heard had “an emergency” and that’s why she’s going to miss her 10 AM call for a deposition in L.A. … TMZ has learned. According to legal docs, an unspecified emergency arose and “to no fault of her own, Amber was unable to arrange for a flight to travel from London.”
Amber’s lawyers, Samantha Spector and Joseph Koenig, go after Johnny Depp’s lawyers with a vengeance, saying, “Johnny’s counsel continues to wage a malicious war against Amber in the Court of Public Opinion in an effort to intimidate and discourage Amber from telling the truth.”
Amber’s lawyers suggest Johnny will never address the allegations of domestic violence under oath and then says, “It is a disturbing shame that Johnny’s lawyers continue to pursue a relentless personal attack against Amber.”
Spector will ask a judge to push Amber’s depo to Saturday. And there’s this. Amber’s lawyers attached a letter to the filing in which she accuses Johnny’s lawyer of reneging on a settlement agreement. The letter is dated Thursday, August 11th. Johnny’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, responds in a separate letter that the offer was sent to Johnny for his approval.

I don?t know what to tell you. I tend to think that while Amber might be scattered and emotional right now, her lawyers know what they?re doing and she?s taking their advice. I do feel like there?s some sort of legal gamesmanship happening here, but I could be wrong. We?ll update if something else breaks.

One of the big reasons why I published that Amber Heard story on Sunday was because I thought that within the same 24-hour news cycle, we would get some leaks about what went down during Amber?s deposition, and I was prepared to do breaking-news coverage for it on Monday. TMZ had hyped this depo so hard, and everyone expected Amber to be ?grilled? and for Team Depp to declare victory the second Amber?s story might have one small discrepancy or whatever. But something weird happened: throughout the day on Sunday, nobody leaked anything. It was weird. Especially considering that Amber was in that meeting/depo for more than nine hours on Saturday. Then on Monday, I got a partial answer to the question of ?why hasn?t anyone leaked info from Amber?s depo?? The answer is weird though.
Amber Heard showed up for her deposition Saturday in her divorce/domestic violence case against Johnny Depp … but she never took the oath and never testified about a thing … sources connected to Amber tell TMZ. We’re told there was a videographer and court reporter present and Johnny’s lawyers were at the conference room table, but Amber never even walked in the room the entire day. She was in a nearby office.
Mind you … Amber showed up at around 11:30 AM — she was an hour and a half late — and didn’t leave until 9 PM. So, what happened inside the building? We’re told both sides were talking settlement but no deal was struck. As for why Amber never entered the room, much less answered questions the entire day … it’s a mystery.

That was TMZ?s initial story, that Amber came late but that she just sat in a room for nine-and-a-half hours and no one did anything. Very strange. A few hours after TMZ broke that news, Amber?s team sent out information to TMZ and other outlets. Her rep told TMZ:
“Although she was ready, willing and able to go forward with her deposition, it was not taken by Johnny’s attorneys. She waited for 10 hours and at no time did Amber ever refuse to start the deposition. There was nothing preventing Johnny’s counsel from commencing the deposition.”

Amber?s rep also says that Amber wasn?t really 90 minutes late to the deposition either ? while the deposition was scheduled for 10 am, she called ahead of time and Depp?s lawyers knew she was going to be there closer to 11 am on Saturday, and that when she showed up at the law offices, she was ?blindsided by paparazzi.? Interestingly enough, Amber?s rep also told TMZ that Johnny Depp was originally scheduled to be deposed by Amber?s lawyers on Wednesday but now he?s saying he can?t make it. And TMZ has a new story about the “mountain” of evidence Team Depp has gathered that “proves” Depp never assaulted Amber – go here to read. It basically sounds like Depp’s got a lot of employees going on the record about how they never saw anything. Weird, right? That people who would depend on Depp for their livelihood would say that he’s not an abuser? And why can’t Depp be deposed on Wednesday? Oh, right, he’s on vacation.
The NYDN went a little bit further to explain the fact that Amber was never deposed. Apparently, she just sat there as her lawyers and Depp?s lawyers tried to negotiate a ?global resolution on all issues,? and at one point, Amber even got up to start the deposition but the lawyers went back to discussing the terms of a potential settlement. What do you think? Do you think Depp and Heard are going to get this sh-t settled by Monday the 15th? I suspect if they do work out a settlement, it will be hammered out at the very last minute, like 6 a.m. Monday morning.
