| Blake Lively defends her 'Oakland booty?: 'It's something I was proud of' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

One of the funniest and dumbest controversies Blake Lively got embroiled in this year was her Instagram post declaring that she had an ?LA Face and an Oakland booty.? Which is a line from Sir Mix-a-Lot?s ode-to-butt ?Baby Got Back.? Blake posted a photo of her booty from Cannes and even though everybody lost their minds about it, she never took down the Instagram. Meaning, she still believes it. I kind of like that she didn?t remove the Instagram, because of all of the issues people have with Blake, the fact that she thinks she has an ?Oakland booty? doesn?t even make the top ten. So now that Blake is promoting The Shallows this week, she?s finally answering some questions about her so-called Oakland Booty.
“It’s something I was proud of. I never meant to offend anyone. But Sir Mix-A-Lot, he actually said a very nice thing, he was very defensive and kind, because it’s just about celebrating women’s bodies, and that’s what I was doing,” she told Sway Calloway on Shade 45. “I would never want to hurt anyone’s feelings or upset anyone.”
The actress continued, “I was celebrating my body. It’s nice to have a nice curve and not look like you’re starving to death.”
“It’s also unfair what you see in the media so much. What I look like on a red carpet is not what I look like in real life,” she admitted on Sway in the Morning. “Even in that dress, I’m wearing a great, tiny corset that like someone has synched me in within an inch of my life and it’s the most favorable version. So when you look at yourself in the mirror at home and you don’t look like that, you think ?well why do those people look like that’ but when I go home and take off that dress and look in the mirror, I don’t look like that either,” she added. “It’s fun to dress up and look good on the red carpet but it’s not representative [of everyday].”
[From E! News]
I had to include that last part because Blake was really feeling sorry for herself because she hates that she presents such a glamorous and flawless image and it?s just so unfair that she?s so beautiful on red carpets, you guys! She?s just totally normal in real life, don?t hate her because she?s beautiful on the red carpet! As for the Oakland booty stuff? I don?t think she meant to offend anyone. She really didn?t. Just like she didn?t intend to offend anyone with her Allure of Antebellum post, nor did she intend to offend anyone by defending Woody Allen. She just falls Oakland-booty backwards into these controversies because she?s really that daft and tone-deaf.

I keep forgetting that Blake Lively got pregnant again, and it’s coming at the worst possible time — well, for me and the Little Tuna anyway. Because now that she’s got a new movie coming out, she’s hitting all the talk shows to show off her baby bump, when she should be showing off her […]

I really do think that Blake Lively has the best pair of legs in Hollywood, or one of the best pairs of legs. These are photos of Blake outside of Rockefeller Center on Monday, where she appeared on the Today Show to promote her new movie, The Shallows. Blake is well into her second trimester of her second pregnancy, and just like her first pregnancy, she looks totally amazing. She really looks so stunning and glow-y, it?s a wonder she doesn?t just stay permanently pregnant. And from what she told Savannah Guthrie, that?s the plan. Blake says that she and Ryan Reynolds want so many babies. Some assorted quotes:
Her 2-year-old, James: “She’s always doing something fun and exciting. She’s the most fun, funny human being I’ve ever been around in my life.”
She wants more than two kids: “I’m one of five kids; my husband’s one of four. We’re officially breeders. You can go on our website and we will give you some of our children.”
Filming The Shallows alone: “At least I got beautiful settings and a shark and all these things to help me! But an isolation film is tough. It’s you the whole time and your imagination. I don’t know. I hope people like it? We shot in this beautiful island?Lord Howe Island. No one’s ever shot there before. It was pristine and amazing. And then the rest of it was basically in a giant swimming pool.”
She isn?t afraid of sharks: “I actually had an amazing experience. I went diving with great white sharks and an incredible shark conservationist. Being in the water amongst them, it suddenly takes away that fear, because you see them in movies and they’re villainized and all of that, but when you’re in their habitat, you see that they’re not actually hunting you, you know? They’re just in the sea.”
But the shark is definitely the enemy in The Shallows: “Because of global warming, sharks are pushed closer to shore. She’s attacked, and you think of a shark attack being in the deep ocean. But it’s almost scarier when the shore is right there and it’s just so close. It comes in handy that she’s a medical student. I think that she’s not necessarily the most resourceful person to start, but it just shows the human’s ability to survive when you’re faced with life or death.”
[From E! News]
The most unbelievable part (and I mean that literally, as in I do not believe it) is that Blake is playing a med student. Nope! I?ll buy Blake as a fashion student. I?ll buy her as a creative writing student (?allure of Antebellum,? anyone?). I?ll even buy her as a cooking-school student. But medical student? No. Never. As for Blake wanting lots and lots and babies? sure, I hope she does. She seems to have easy, no-drama pregnancies and it seems that she and Ryan both want a lot of kids, so go for it. I hate the term ?breeders? though.

Blake Lively covers the July issue of Marie Claire to promote The Shallows, or the movie about Blake Lively on a rock, with bonus shark. Blake has been somewhat quiet since her explosion of unfortunate quotes and interviews at the Cannes Film Festival last month. Considering the lack of baby-bump in the Marie Claire photo below, I think this whole editorial and interview was done several months back, before Blake was showing and before journalists thought to ask her ?so, what do you really think about Woody Allen?? What I?m saying is that she doesn?t address her problematic statements about Woody Allen in this piece. Here are some highlights:
On family being the number one thing in her life: ?All my eggs are in one basket, and that?s where my heart is. That?s where my everything is.?
Why she wanted to marry Ryan Reynolds: ?I knew he would always be my best friend for my whole life. That was the biggest thing to me. I?d never known anything like the friendship that I had with him. I could like him as much as I loved him.?
On the paparazzi and her daughter: ?I?d rather not have to deal with it at all, but we knew the lifestyle we were getting into, and while it?s hard?it?s another thing when it?s our child. She didn?t have the opportunity to make a decision about what she wants.?
On not wanting to be involved in the entertainment industry like her family: “I didn’t want to be an actor, because they were all doing it. When you’re the youngest of five kids, you think, Who am I? If this is who they are, and they’re shaping who I am so much, then who would I be? You strive for your own identity.”
On raising her children: “Ryan had a nice, normal upbringing, and we want our kids to have the same normal life that we had. We don’t ever want to rob them of what we had, because we’d feel really selfish.”
Her daughter James: “[She] looked like his doppelgnger for the first six months,” but now, she says, has finally picked up some of her features. Namely, “she has my clammy hands! And my heavy eyelids, my meaty eyelids.”
[From Marie Claire]
?Meaty eyelids??? I didn?t even know that was a thing. I?ve never heard anyone describe anyone?s eyelids as ?meaty.? Heavy-lidded, yes, of course. But meaty? Hm. As for all of the nice things she says about Ryan Reynolds, for whatever reason, I think they?re the real deal. I think they adore each other and they?re a good team and they?ll probably be married forever (hopefully). As for the comments about the paparazzi? I was going to ?O RLY?? her, but really, she and Ryan haven?t conveniently pap-strolled with the baby or used her strategically. While Blake might famewhore herself, she protects her kid.

Blake Lively?s Cannes Film Festival fashion tour has continued unabated. Thankfully, after the multiple problematic statements Blake made on Wednesday and Thursday last week, her publicist likely did what I suggested: he sat on Blake until she promised to stop talking about how Woody is a genius who is amazing with women and it?s unfair and terrible to ever mention Dylan Farrow?s accusations. Now there?s a whole new Blake: a Blake who can only talk about clothes. So let?s talk about clothes. These photos of Blake in body-con turquoise are from Saturday night?s premiere of The BFG. The gown ? with an Amal-Clooney-defying train ? is by Versace. I like this color on Blake, and I like that she?s not hiding her baby bump. She?s obviously showing and she?s embracing the bump sartorially. When asked about her Cannes style, Blake told USA Today:
“I like dressing up. It?s fun. I don?t have a stylist. It?s very personal. It?s a lot of thought. I?m the one who goes online and finds the outfits, I call them in and try them all on. But I love that. That?s why I enjoy old Hollywood. There was beauty in the presentation.”
Not that she doesn’t love a little “messy-Kate-Moss-just-rolled-out-of-bed hair, don?t get me wrong,” Lively added. “But (in Old Hollywood) there wasn?t sloppiness that sometimes happens. I think it?s nice to dress up.”
[From USA Today]
This is the second time in a week where she?s made a reference to old Hollywood, or how things were done in the 1940s. She really sees herself as a throwback to that ?Old Hollywood? style, I guess. And while I don?t doubt that ?it?s a lot of thought? to put together her wardrobe without a stylist, I also think? it?s not a sin to have a stylist. No one ever throws shade at actresses for having stylists. Most women are busy people, and stylists help cut through the fashion-industry bureaucracy. Then again, what else does Blake have to do these days? It?s not like she?s even running Preserve anymore!
Here are some more photos from Blake?s many appearances at Cannes. This is the Vivienne Westwood ?Cinderella? gown she wore on Friday night. The whole look is very, very Disney princess. She looks like a Barbie.
And here?s the worst look ? Blake in Giambattista Valli Spring 2016. This is awful!

| Blake Lively previews her Cannes fashion in Burberry: stunning or boring? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The Cannes Film Festival officially starts tomorrow. I?m really looking forward to this year?s Cannes, mostly because? there will be a lot of American actors, celebrities and models on the carpet. I know that sounds Americentric, but I love writing about Cannes fashion, and it helps when the fashion moments come from recognizable people. We?ll have lots of fashion coverage for the new week and a half! YAY!
Anyway, these are some photos of Blake Lively arriving in Nice, France yesterday. She?s there for work. She?s got a smallish part in Woody Allen?s Caf Society, plus she?ll be walking red carpets on behalf of her L?Oreal makeup and hair contract. I have to say, I?m even enjoying Blake?s casual airport style here. She?s wearing matchy Burberry ? a white Burberry trench with black piping, with matching slacks. I think her bag is Chanel. She?s already announced her second pregnancy, and she just looks lovely. She looked really beautiful and glowy during her first pregnancy too. So, yeah, I?m really looking forward to seeing what she gets up to, fashion-wise.
Thankfully, Blake also gave us a fashion preview, via her Instagram. Serious fashionistas have already ID?d several of these frocks ? you?re looking at gowns by Armani, Versace, Vivienne Westwood, Elie Saab, Dior and Giambattista Valli. Apparently, Blake will be exclusively bejeweled by Lorraine Schwartz as well.
?Everybody Cannes Cannes ? 4 more days… #CafeSociety and @lorealmakeup here we come…

| Blake Lively in Burberry at the Met Gala: stunning or poorly styled? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?m still sort of shocked that out of all of the potential (British) models and actresses Christopher Bailey could have chosen, he ended up going with an American celebrity: Blake Lively. Don?t get me wrong, I understand that Bailey probably wanted to make a big statement and this Burberry gown is a big statement, even more so because he put it on someone known for being a Fashion Girl, like Blake. While I love this dress ? truly and completely love it ? I don?t think it has anything to do with the theme. It?s just a beautiful statement gown and it looks great on Blake. My one qualm is that I think Blake?s jewelry choices are not the best for the gown. I feel like it should have been rubies or diamonds, not coral. Also, she barely looks pregnant here, right?
Naomie Harris also got to wear Burberry. I love Naomie, but this dress is a snooze.
I didn?t expect to love Karlie Kloss?s Met Gala look, but here we are. Karlie wore Brandon Maxwell and I thought she looked STUNNING. My only disappointment was that she looked so much cooler with the coat/cape thing as she traveled to the Met Gala, and once she took it off to pose on the carpet, the look was not as special.
