Bringing their blockbuster motion picture to the east coast, the stars of ?Savages? joined forces for the film?s swanky New York City premiere on Wednesday night (June 27)..
Certainly the belle of the ball, the gorgeous Blake Lively brightened up the SVA Theater venue in a flowing yellow gown with a plunging neckline as she tossed her arm around acclaimed director Oliver Stone while working the arrivals area.
Also in the house were costars Taylor Kitsch and John Travolta, who remained in high spirits despite the endless rumors of his alleged sexual misconduct, as well as actress Rosie Perez.
The cast's sure-to-be entertaining upcoming film follows two guys who run a home-growing marijuana business and get mixed up with the Mexican drug cartels. Making matters worse, when they refuse to work with the south-of-the-border drug lords, their shared girlfriend becomes the bargaining chip of the whole ordeal.
Also starring Salma Hayek, Benicio Del Toro, Emile Hirsch and Demian Bichir, ?Savages? is slated to hit theaters on July 6th.

Blake Lively was photographed outside of the Ed Sullivan Theater last night, doing what many say was a ?pre-taped? interview with David Letterman. She wasn?t on last night?s show (as far as I can see), and considering Savages doesn?t come out until next week, I guess they?re waiting for the big media blitz until then. Blake wore two outfits in NYC ? she changed for Letterman, I guess. Both outfits were shades of white ? very bridal, right? The wrap dress with the silver stuff at the collarbone is Jenny Packham. The white dress with the mini-cape is Marchesa. The Packham dress makes me notice Blake?s incredible body. The Marchesa dress is just kind of meh ? it looks like a miniature version of Gwyneth Paltrow?s Oscar dress (by Tom Ford).
When Blake was on the red carpet for the LA Savages premiere two nights ago, she spoke to Access Hollywood about boys and what she looks for in a man:
Blake Lively was a vision of style and beauty on Tuesday night when she stepped out at the premiere of her latest movie, ?Savages,? rocking a curve-hugging Zuhair Murad gown. The actress, who turns 25 later this summer, dished with Access Hollywood?s Shaun Robinson about what she?s looking for in a potential boyfriend and why (unlike her ?Savages? character) she wouldn?t be up for a love triangle.
?She is juggling [two men]. The three of them are in a relationship and they?re happy and they all know about each other and they?re all equally in love. The boys love each other as much as they love the girl, which I find interesting,? she said of her big screen love triangle with Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson.
?It?s not what you would look for in a normal boyfriend right?? Shaun asked.
?No, no, no, definitely not, that is a little too complicated,? Blake explained.
If you?re looking to get to the star?s heart, you better start with her funny bone.
?I always love somebody who makes me laugh, whose fun to be with,? the actress continued.
And standing tall at 5 feet 10 inches, potential suitors should also be blessed with height.
?I love really high heels, so it becomes a problem sometimes,? she said, explaining that she?s not against being with shorter guys. ?I just feel like huge? you don?t want to feel like the man.?

I understand what she?s saying about the height thing. I love tall guys, and I love BIG guys. Like, big and beefy. And I?m not even all that tall ? I?m average height, but I?m curvy. Making sure to get in some time in acknowledgement of her many fans, Blake Lively was spotted outside the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City on Tuesday afternoon (June 26).
The ?Gossip Girl? beauty looked perfect in a peach knee-length dress and silver heels as she was seen signing autographs and posing for pictures before heading inside to pre-tape an appearance on the ?Late Show with David Letterman? - which will be airing this Thursday, June 28th.
The talk show stop comes as Miss Lively is promoting her upcoming flick, ?Savages?, of which she recently opened up to Yahoo News about her latest, not so Upper East Side role.
In the Oliver Stone directed movie, Blake is kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel and suffers a good deal of abuse from them - which she says were some of the most ?difficult? times in shooting.
The 24-year-old explained, ?You find yourself pushing to the maximum and trying to see how far you can go with the emotions and the tension. When Benicio is trying to intimidate me, I'm spitting back in his face. And he's looking really vicious the whole time so you're locking yourself into that world for those scenes and that's where the adrenaline kicks in.?

Last night was the big LA premiere of Oliver Stone?s Savages, which comes out in America on July 6 ? not this Friday, but next. Almost all of the stars from the film were at the LA premiere. The one person who didn?t show up: newlywed Aaron Johnson, who might be on his honeymoon and thus, had a good excuse for not coming to the premiere of one of his first big American films. CB has covered John Travolta?s wiggy appearance on the red carpet, and I shall cover the rest of the photos.
I think it?s fair to say that Blake Lively was the big ?star? of the red carpet. Salma Hayek didn?t look all that great, and Blake really pulled out all of the stops. Blake wore this Zuhair Murad couture gown, which is like an optical illusion dress that looks poured onto her. You can say whatever you want about this girl?s face (eh) and her ?game? (eh): but you cannot deny that Blake has a KILLER figure. Look at her body in this gown. It?s amazing. I would love to have her figure. And yes, I know her boobs are man-made. I would still love to have all of it. As for the dress ? it?s not my favorite thing that I?ve ever seen her wear, but hey, at least it?s not Marchesa. And at least Blake isn?t falling out of it.
As for the overall styling? am I alone in thinking her makeup looks rough? The lipstick shade is too bright, the earrings don?t really go with the dress, and her hair looks awful. The blonde looks over-processed, and I just feel like she?s going for the ?Glamour Barbie? look. Maybe I?m being too critical because I?m overwhelmed by jealousy for her figure, though. Or maybe Blake shouldn?t brag constantly about styling herself because she really does NOT have an eye for it.
Oh, and Ryan Reynolds was nowhere to be seen? I guess Blake had to do the premiere stuff as a single girl.

I?ve always thought that whoever is in charge of choosing Gucci?s spokes models/faces had very weird taste. In retrospect, it was kind of interesting for Gucci to choose two up-and-coming talents like Evan Rachel Wood and Chris Evans to represent Gucci Guilty. But I thought the choice of James Franco (for ?Gucci Sport?) was odd and ill-advised. And now Gucci has a new perfume, and a brand new ?face? – Blake Lively. Blake actually alluded to this mess in a recent Bullett interview, with the writer noting that Blake had ?just wrapped her third and final day on the set of a still-undisclosed fragrance commercial, which was directed by Drive auteur Nicolas Winding Refn.? Blake said: ?He was my first choice.? So? this isn?t just a print ad campaign. Blake will star in commercials for the Gucci perfume, and the commercials have already been shot – by Nicolas Winding Refn. Here?s more:
In a move not so dissimilar to that of a football transfer, actress Blake Lively has leapt from Parisian luxury giant Chanel and into the arms of fellow premier-league stars Gucci.
The American actress, 24, has been cast as the face of new Gucci scent Gucci Premire, which takes its name from the couture line launched by the brand in 2010.
Inspired by Old Hollywood charm and all the glitz and glamour surrounding it, the fragrance is for a woman who is “living her moment, whether it’s on the red carpet or at a private dinner”, according to Gucci creative director Frida Giannini.
Lively was picked “because she is a girl of extraordinary beauty and she’s a girl who loves fashion. She has great taste in clothes”, Giannini told WWD .
“Although she’s young, she’s also very determined, and I liked this spirit.?She knows how to be a diva in the right sense, with an aspirational glamour.”
Lively, who scored her first fashion campaign as the face of Chanel’s new Mademoiselle handbag line in March last year, said she “couldn’t be more proud” to be working with Gucci. She added: “Gucci is a staple. It is a brand I have always looked up to because to me it represents strength”.
Each of Gucci’s Premire creations can take up to six months to make and have been worn by red carpet sirens Salma Hayek, Jessica Chastain and Cameron Diaz. The fragrance is set to go on sale in the U.K. in late July.

Oh, that was just chock full of goodies, wasn?t it? Blake is a girl of ?extraordinary beauty? who ?has great taste in clothes?? We could debate that one all day. I?ll cosign the whole ?she?s very determined? thing, though – give it to her, guys. She IS determined. She IS ambitious. And that?s not a bad thing. As for Blake?s ?aspirational glamour? – why does everyone always kiss her ass about her fashion sense? She styles herself, and most of the time it?s not all that great. Most of the time she looks like a downmarket Mall Girl. But whatever. Blake got a new gig. Good for her.

Blake Lively covers the July issue of Marie Claire as part of her promotional press tour for Savages. That?s the film she did with Oliver Stone – and Blake is really hoping her performance takes her to the next level. I don?t really have an opinion on it, considering I haven?t seen the film and I don?t have a rampant hate-on for Blake. I will say this – I was not impressed with her voiceover in the trailer. She sounded bored and vapid. Maybe that?s her character, though. In which case I think Blake might have been typecast. Anyway, here are some highlights from Blake?s Marie Claire interview:
Blake likes a well-dressed man: “It’s definitely attractive when a man can dress well? What I love most is when someone, guy or girl, is effortless and has this old-timey sort of feel [that] you could take a snapshot of them and they could exist in any time period.”
She loves talking about food: “To be around me, you must love food or I’m the most obnoxious person you’ve ever met. I’m in a big cooking phase. That’s all I’ll talk about.”
She also loves talking about her Louboutins: “What I planned before I got into the business has changed? Now I’m like, ‘Hmm, I wonder what shoes Christian [Louboutin] is going to make me. And which couture house should I go to?’ ”
She?s her own stylist: ?My assistant will call fashion houses for me, but I always pick the outfit, shoes, jewelry, and a lot of times I do my own hair and makeup for events. Sometimes I think, God, why do I do this to myself? It’s so much extra work!?
Why does she style herself? ?Because I love fashion. It’s such an expression of self. I often see people and they look great, but I can identify who styled them. Every stylist has a signature. Maybe it sounds jerky, but I’m lucky to be on such a fashion-centric show [Gossip Girl]. There’s no designer I don’t have access to.?
She?s holding at ?four? boyfriends: ?People like to draw parallels between my life and the scandalous stories on Gossip Girl. I dress the same as my character, so they think, She lives this life on and off set. I recently shared how many boyfriends I’ve had [four], and people were like, “That’s impossible!” But it’s true. I’ve been with very few people. If I’m not with somebody who really excites or inspires me, then I’d rather be by myself.?

Marie Claire?s Nina Garcia also notes that Ryan Reynolds? dog Baxter makes an appearance during the interview, which is basically yet another confirmation that Ryan and Blake are totally serious about each other. They will get married. Eventually. Blake is waiting to see how Savages does. You think I?m joking – the reaction to the film will determine the next steps she takes with Ryan.
As for Blake?s continued insistence that she styles herself? I tend to believe her. I think that?s why she looks ?off? on some many red carpets. But I respect that it?s HER vision for how she presents herself and not someone else telling her ?You look amazing!? when she clearly doesn?t.

Blake Lively did an interview for Bullet magazine which no one has ever heard of. “Is this real life?,” the editor probably asked when Blake Lively agreed to the interview. Whatever the case, she’s there to promote Oliver Stone’s violence porn filmSavages. At one point, she opens up about building relationships.
?I?m slow to build friendships, but they always end up being long and lasting? The way that I meet people is the same way that I?ve always met people. It might be weird if I was on JDate, but I?m not, so that?s good. I meet so many people in passing at parties, but I?ve never been a person who?s like, I know I just met you, but let?s exchange numbers and be best friends.?
She also talks about finally getting to leave Gossip Girl.
?It?ll be bittersweet when it?s over because it gave me all of this,? she says, scanning the second floor of the mansion where we?re huddled next to each other on a windowsill. ?I think the best way to describe it is like someone who really enjoyed high school, and is like, I?m a senior and I can?t wait for the next thing! Gossip Girl was so great, but what?s the next challenge in life? Because, you know, six years is a long time. And as an actor who plays a caricature of myself on the show, I don?t think I?d say, Watch Gossip Girl for my best quality of work. But I am very lucky to have had that experience.?
Gossip Girlis just like high school? So after filming the last episode she’s going to start pointing to people and going, f*ck you, f*ck you, you’re cool, f*ck you…?” Because that would be pretty sweet.
