Blake Lively cares. She cares about fashion, and she wants to support designers and they want her to wear her clothes. Personally, I think Blake makes most high-fashion look downmarket and like she got it from the mall. So it was with this Versace look, which she wore to the 2022 Met Gala. Blake & Ryan Reynolds are regulars at the Met Gala, and this year they were co-chairs for the gala. First, a word about Ryan: he looked spectacular, like he stepped out of The Gilded Age. His Ralph Lauren tuxedo was velvet and a rich chocolate brown. As for Blake? her interpretation of American Fashion/Gilded Glamour was to wear a reversible/two-part Versace which was supposed to invoke the Statue of Liberty. As in, bronze when Lady Liberty started out, then oxidized into a greenish blue color. She ?transformed? on the steps. It was all a bit much, but whatever. At least she thought it out.
Gabrielle Union also wore Versace. This was fine many women just went with ?big, sparkly dresses? and that?s a legitimate interpretation to me. She looked lovely. I love that Dwyane Wade brought some heat.
Lily James just wore a relatively simple Versace dress. It looked nice on her.

| Blake Lively in Versace at the NYC 'Adam Project' premiere: stunning or meh' | Added 1025 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from last night?s New York premiere of The Adam Project, the latest Ryan Reynolds film which also stars Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldana and Jennifer Garner. It?s about a time-traveling pilot (Reynolds) who teams up with his younger self and gets to meet his parents again or something. It seems like a family movie?
Blake and Ryan do a really good job these days of not oversaturating the market with coupled-up photos. Blake doesn?t really go to the opening of an envelope these days (it?s been years since she was like that), so basically, we only see them together when they?re on a red carpet for a premiere of one of their films, usually one of his. This is the first time they?ve been on a carpet together since last summer?s premiere of Free Guy.
For this premiere, Blake wore Atelier Versace, a really beautiful rainbow-esque dress which hugged her curves. What I find weird/charming is that before the red carpet, Blake and Ryan posed outside the venue and Blake wore a long jean jacket over her gown. I?m sure the jean jacket was designer and all that, but she looked very ?90s. The look without the jacket though? perfect. Her body looks incredible, three babies later.

| Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively donated to charities on the ground in Haiti | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Celebrities have been generous this month in the wake of natural disasters and tragedies. From George Clooney helping his Italian neighbors after a devastating flood, to Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan donating to causes benefitting people in Haiti and Afghanistan. If these acts of service dont warm your heart, then perhaps Ryan Reynolds and Blake Livelys donation to charities on the ground in Haiti after the 7.2 earthquake last week, will. Ryan and Blake donated $10,000 each to four different charities according to their spokesperson, who spoke to E! Online. Hope for Haiti thanked them in a tweet posted earlier this week. Below are a few more details from E!:
Hope for Haiti, an organization dedicated to providing support and partnership for the people of Haiti for over 30 years, publicly thanked the pair for their donation through their official social media accounts on Tuesday, Aug. 24.
Our entire organization would like to thank @vancityreynolds and @blakelively for their generous donation to our #HaitiEarthquake Response & Recovery efforts, the organization wrote on Twitter. This donation will help empower our team to continue to respond in the hardest-hit areas of southern Haiti in the days and weeks to come.
Blake and Ryans donation will be used to set up mobile clinics in the communities where theres the most need, as determined by the Ministry of Health, according to TMZ. The donation will also reportedly help cover food delivery distribution costs from World Central Kitchen
[From E! News]
I am loving how so many celebrities are using their influence and their checkbooks to help out in the time of need. It has felt like the month of August has been a month of disaster, sort of like January 2020.
Haiti itself has had a bad summer, from the execution of its President to the earthquake and tropical storm. It is like the people of Haiti cant catch a break. So it really did warm my heart to see that Ryan and Blake donated so much money. I love Ryan and Blake and their relationship. I also like the fact that they chose organizations that are actually on the ground in Haiti. I am glad that part of their money is going towards building clinics as well as to World Central Kitchen to make sure folks are being fed while they pick up the pieces of their lives. I hope that we continue to hear stories about people doing these wonderful deeds because they are a light in this seemingly dark time.
As for Ryan and Blake, these two previously gave 1.4 million to food banks and hospitals at the beginning of the pandemic and $200k to the NAACP during the BLM movement last summer, around the time they apologized for their wedding venue. I look forward to seeing their future humanitarian efforts. Hopefully, they will inspire others to do the same.

| Blake Lively wore Prabal Gurung to her husband's 'Free Guy' premiere | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

During the American coverage of the Olympics, we?ve been gifted with endless previews for Free Guy, Ryan Reynolds? latest movie. Every time I see one of the previews, I?m like ?wait, is that Jodie Comer?!?!? It is. Jodie Comer is Ryan?s costar and I bet they had a ball working together. Jodie didn?t bother flying in for the premiere of Free Guy though, so Ryan?s wife Blake Lively had to provide the glamour on the red carpet. Did it work?
Blake wore this Prabal Gurung gown to her husband?s premiere. I? do not understand. Why this dress? Why this vibe? I was shocked to find out that it is Prabal Gurung it?s so Vanna White, so game-show-hostess. I get that cut-outs and midriffs are ?in? for Pandemic Year #2 style, but this is a terrible example of how to do the trend! It just looks cheap. Oh well, at least Blake and Ryan look nice together. I like that he wore his glasses on the red carpet I actually think he looks more handsome with glasses.
This was apparently Blake & Ryan?s first red carpet together in two years! Most of that is because of the pandemic and Blake hasn?t been working that much in recent years, she?s been at home with the babies (which is work too!!).

I still remember when Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively got together. It was good gossip, because it seemed (at the time) like Blake basically dumped Leonardo DiCaprio to get with Ryan. A baller move, without a doubt. Blake and Ryan made sense from the start too she had been talking about wanting to settle down and start a family, and Ryan had spent years trying to find a lady to do just that. They went from ?just dating? to engaged/living together/married in about two seconds. This week, Ryan appeared on the SmartLess podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett and he spoke a lot about Blake, how they started and how she?s basically everything to him:
When he met Blake: I met Blake on the darkest crease in the anus of the universe called Green Lantern, he said of the two co-starring in the 2011 superhero film. We were friends and buddies, and about a year and a half later we went on a double date but we were dating separate people. Reynolds, 44, went on to say that the two always kind of kept in touch sort of casually.
Begging: Next thing you know, she was going to Boston, I was going to Boston and I said, Well, Ill ride with you. We got on the train and we rode together, he continued. I was just begging her to sleep with me. When asked what the first move looked like, Reynolds joked: I would use a little bit of tear stick so I could get the tears kind of rolling ? then I would tell a little sob story about my life.
A fairytale: Jokes aside, Reynolds described the moment he knew he and Lively, 33, had gone from casually dating to a lifelong commitment as one those those silly moments out of a fairytale. A week later I was like, We should buy a house together, Reynolds added. And we did.
Raising their three girls James, 6, Inez, 4, and Betty, 1: ?They had a tough time,? he said about Zoom school for the two older girls. ?I was seeking out external help left and right. I was reading books. I was trying someway to steer the ship. Blake was so much better at it then I was because I?m also a child.?
How their marriage works: ?I?m present with my kids and my wife and my marriage is incredibly important to me and that friendship is important to me,? he said. ?Blake and I don?t do movies at the same time. When Blake is ready to do some stuff, I?ll step down and then we go back and forth. She?ll do a film and I?ll be with her on location hanging out with the kids.?
[From USA Today and JustJared]
We?ve actually heard some version of the ?we were on a double date with other people? story before. I tend to believe that Blake was with Leo DiCaprio and Ryan was with? someone, we don?t know. But the date clearly stuck in his head as the moment when he knew Blake was the one. Soon after, Blake and Leo were done and Blake and Ryan were taking romantic weekend trips to Charleston and house-hunting together.

Blake Lively?s fashion tour for The Rhythm Section continues. She?s perfected the art of the fashion-blitz promotional tour, and she?s been doing it the same way for years now, basically ever since she became a mom. Part of me stans her efficiency Blake no longer has the time to spend weeks on end trotting all over the globe to promote her movies. So she does three or four days in New York, saturates (or oversaturates) the media market with premieres, appearances, interviews and more, all while doing a fashion show of about ten different looks.
After making her tour all about gloves & boots, Blake changed it up mid-week and made her fashion tour all about? quilted shorts, bejeweled hats and Muppet-esque coats? I don?t hate everything I would love that velvet skirt, and I imagine the blue coat is super-warm. Anyway! During one of her many TV appearances, Blake talked about the stress of life with three kids:
There?s never a dull moment at Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds? house! Lively, 32, stopped by Good Morning America on Tuesday to chat about her new drama The Rhythm Section ? her first film since 2018?s A Simple Favor ? and revealed that since she and her husband welcomed their third daughter late last year, activity at home has sped up considerably.
?At one point, we had three [kids aged] 4 and under,? said Lively, whose oldest daughter, James, turned 5 in December and middle daughter Inez celebrated her 3rd birthday a few months earlier.
After co-host Michael Strahan asked her what it was like going from two to three children, the actress quipped, ?It?s like going from two to 3,000. [We] have so many children. It?s pretty [crazy]. We?re outnumbered. It?s a lot.?
?People say that from two to three, it?s the same, it?s kind of easy. Those people do not have three kids,? Lively joked. ?It is crazy. But I?m here!?
[From People]
I?ve heard similar things from parents with three or more kids, that there are really only three options: you have one child, you have two children, or you have three to a million and it?s all the same level of chaos. I?ve also heard that parents of twins feel superhuman, and if they happen to have just one more kid after twins, they find it so easy and un-stressful. But yeah, three kids under the age of four. YIKES. My uterus just blinked twice and chuckled.

| Blake Lively in Dolce & Gabbana at 'The Rhythm Section' NY premiere: gorgeous' | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

At this point, we can go months without seeing Blake Lively or hearing anything about her. She?s now the mother of three young children (she gave birth to their third last year) and I think she and Ryan Reynolds spend most of their time in Canada or out in their suburban/country home, away from New York and LA. So we only really see her when she?s got something to promote, which is happening right now. Blake?s new film is called The Rhythm Section and the trailers for it are? not great? It doesn?t look like a terrible movie, per se, it just looks super-derivative of the Bourne franchise. But hey, dudes get to star in derivative action-adventure movies all the time, why not ladies?
Anyway, here are some photos from the premiere and from her promotion this week. Blake wore Dolce & Gabbana to the premiere a lush black velvet gown with knee-high boots. The necklace is Lorraine Schwartz, who I?m just going from memory also designed Blake?s engagement ring, right? I love the necklace, honestly, and that one emerald. I do feel like the whole look together is a bit too much though? But she looks lovely. And look at the Hot Young Pope Jude Law!
Other photos from Blake?s promotion I don?t have the ID on these looks, but I do enjoy her promotional fashion shows. She?s telling us that 2020 is all about BOOTS and GLOVES. Let?s take this Big Glove Energy with us into February. Also: that Pink trench is too busy, right?

Before I get to this puff piece about Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, it?s worth noting that they were recently in the news for a weird and bad reason. The Knot and Pinterest took the extraordinary step of banning all photos from weddings which take place on former plantations. Blake and Ryan got married on a plantation, and so a lot of sites lead with ?The Knot and Pinterest banned photos of Blake and Ryan?s wedding!? First of all, Blake did give photos of the wedding to Martha Stewart Weddings, but they didn?t show a lot of it. Second, I grew up in the South and it?s really difficult to find any historical property or site in the South which does not have some dark backstory involving slavery, the Confederate Army or the Civil War. I understand why The Knot and Pinterest did what they did and it was a good call. But I also think that some (white) people don?t even know that their wedding venue was the site of some awful atrocity. Then again, Blake did write that ?allure of antebellum? thing, so maybe she knew it was awful and that?s why she chose it.
Now, on to the fluff! Ryan Reynolds is promoting his Michael Bay-Netflix movie 6 Underground and he was asked what he and Blake binge-watch. His answer surprised me:
Ever wondered what Ryan Reynolds and wife Blake Lively like to bing together on Netflix? The answer might surprise you. Speaking with PEOPLE at the Tuesday premiere of his new Netflix movie 6 Underground, directed by Transformers? Michael Bay, Reynolds revealed they most enjoy watching the cooking reality show, The Great British Bake Off.
?You weren?t expecting that, were you?? the Deadpool star joked. ?We live in a world that?s pretty divisive right now and there?s a lot going on. And I like that show just because it?s a nice thing to watch at night. Everybody on the show is nice to each other, which I find refreshing. It?s sort of sweet. It?s not really about anything that?s going to remind you of chaos.?

GBBO is on-brand for Blake but not on-brand for Ryan. But I can see how he would have gotten drawn into it GBBO is so soothing and restful and peaceful. CB and I talked about that on episode 31 of the Gossip with Celebitchy podcast GBBO is set in a lovely tent on peaceful English property, surrounded by beautiful flowers and greenery. All of the contestants have soft British accents and they care so much about baking cakes and sometimes someone cries while they?re watching their muffins rise. I could see Ryan watching it to humor Blake and then getting really involved with who *should* win and whose cake looks half-baked.

People were bizarrely calling this in the comments of some Taylor Swift stories the past few weeks apparently, it?s been something of a Snake Fam ?conspiracy? that Taylor has given her fans some clues about? Blake Lively being pregnant again. Blake and Taylor are friendly, and it would make sense if Taylor knew about Blake?s pregnancy months ago. I guess. Anyway, Blake confirmed her third pregnancy last night on the red carpet premiere of Pokmon Detective Pikachu in New York.
Blake?s not part of the movie, but her husband Ryan Reynolds is the voice of Pikachu. Actors always get props when they really commit to doing voice work in movies like Pikachu. Think of how much good press Bradley Cooper got for voicing a raccoon in the Marvel movies, you know? And kids love Ryan. Anyway, Blake?s presence already made the premiere a big event, but the fact that she debuted her bump makes it an international headline. Well played. In case you?re wondering, their daughter James (the eldest daughter) is 4 years old and their second daughter, Inez, is 2 years old (will be three in October). They?ve spaced out their babies pretty well.
Blake?s maternity look is Retroftes Rebecca Dress. Lots of women wore yellow on this carpet because Pikachu is yellow. She?s always such a glowing pregnant lady pregnancy really agrees with her, right? That being said, I hate this hair trend those curls are not natural, it just looks like she got an ?80s style perm.

| Blake Lively doesn't drink, but considers herself 'the in-house mixologist in my family' | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from last night?s premiere of A Simple Favor. Anna Kendrick wore a Cushnie dress, and Blake Lively wore a Givenchy ensemble which? I don?t really get? Like, why is she going to heavy and dark for the premiere? Blake?s known for her promotional tour fashion shows, and very few women use fashion to such effect while promoting their films. Blake?s been wearing a lot of menswear-inspired stuff during this tour, and I wouldn?t have hated it if she had worn a really great tailored suit. But this just looks so? blah.
To promote the film, Blake chatted with USA Today about the film (where she plays a housewife with a dark, mysterious past), booze and parenting. Some highlights:
Blake actually dislikes the taste of booze: I am the in-house mixologist in my family, but I dont drink, which is the joke. People come over and I start to pull out the shaker and muddler, and theyre like, Why is she making me a drink? This is going to be terrible. And I say, Just trust me.
Feeling inadequate as a parent: Every good parent I know is hard on themselves, which is beautiful, because it means that you care. I live for my family, so where I might have insecurities about other things in my life, I know Im giving the best of myself to my family. Thats not to say Im without plenty of mistakes, but Im confident that everybody knows how loved they are. I sleep easiest at night knowing Im at least giving it my all.
[From USA Today]
I have to admit, I find that Blake is doing a good job at walking that line between ?I live for my family? versus ?judging other women who make different choices.? Blake has had few moments where she?s said something out of touch about parenting or drawn the ire of the mommy mafia. Which is a precarious balancing act in and of itself, especially for a celebrity woman. As for what she says about drinking? no, really, how does she know she?s making a good cocktail if she hates the taste of booze? You know what I?ve never liked? The taste of gin. I would have no idea what kind of gin-based cocktail would taste good because I can?t stand the taste. *mixes gin with tomato juice and calls it a ?Bloody Lively?*
