Spending the morning with her littlest ones while Violet is off at school, Jennifer Garner headed to the Brentwood Country Mart on Wednesday (September 18).
The "13 Going on 30" star looked cute in her black-rimmed spectacles, black sweater, and blue jeans as she helped little Samuel Affleck on a tiny carousel while his older sister Seraphina rode with him.
It was just announced that Fox has given the greenlight to "The Whole Shebang," a drama co-produced by the 41-year-old actress's Vandalia Films.
In the series, a newly single soccer mom inherits a rundown male strip club and finds herself at the center of a dysfunctional work family.

Here we have photos from two premieres at the Toronto Film Festival this weekend: Dallas Buyer’s Club, featuring Jennifer Garner and Matthew McConaughey, and Prisoners, with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. Of the two, Dallas Buyers Club is getting more advance buzz, with McConaughey’s performance receiving a standing ovation at TIFF. In this adaptation of a true story, McConaughey plays an AIDS patient who set up a patient-run HIV prescription drug smuggling ring in the 1980s. He of course lost 50 pounds for the role and it’s definite Oscar bait.
At the TIFF premiere, Garner was wearing a nude and red lace Dolce & Gabbana dress paired with matchy Brian Atwood pumps. I like the fit of the dress but I’m divided on whether I like this look. The two fabrics look bizarre together. Maybe if the base color didn’t match her skin tone so closely the dress would have popped more. Overall she’s gorgeous as usual though. Look at how comfortable Garner and McConaughey look together. This isn’t their first movie together, they also co-starred in 2009?s Ghosts of Girlfriends past, remember that God-awful movie? I tried to watch it with a friend and ended up falling asleep. Maybe it redeemed itself at the end, I have no idea.
I love me some Matthew McConaughey but his orange makeup and barely there scruff is throwing me off here. He still looks very thin to me too.
Look at their co-star Jared Leto’s glorious ombre hair. I swear that’s a weave. Leto plays a transsexual in the film. He lost 30 pounds for the role, which he’s since gained back.
We don’t have as many photos of the Prisoners premiere so I’m including them at the end. Its a kidnap drama in which Jackman’s character goes vigilante when his daughters are taken. Here’s a link to the trailer, it looks intense. The film also features Jake Gyllenhaal, Maria Bello, Viola Davis and Terrence Howard.
Maria wore this blue silk suit with navy Louboutin pumps and a navy shirt. What was she thinking? Her hair is cute though, I like that so many celebrities are getting this easy bob.
Hugh in need of a shave. He just got rid of his Wolverine beard, he must be missing it.
Jake Gyllenhaal is not doing much for me. Why so somber, Jake?

These are photos of Jennifer Garner and Steve Carell on the set of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Those of you who watch Showtime’s Ray Donovan may recognize 15 year-old Kerris Dorsey, who plays Bridget Donovan on that show. (If you’re not watching it, start now! Ray Donovan is incredible and Liev Schreiber is so hot in motion.)
These on set photos are pretty amusing, and include the on-screen family reacting to some kind of car accident. In some of the pictures, Garner is holding a real child and in others she’s got a stand-in doll.
Garner is also sporting new bangs for the role, although there may be another reason for that. In her recent interview with Allure Magazine (Kaiser covered the highlights here) Garner said she had a ‘huge’ forehead and worried about whether it would look more prominent with Botox. She wouldn’t rule out using it though. She also had some nice things to say about her first marriage, to Scott Foley. Here are some quotes from the interview which we didn’t cover in our earlier story:
On whether she would do Botox
I’m old enough to know policies don’t necessarily last, so be careful what box you stand on. [It may be time to try Botox but she's a little scared] because I have a big forehead, and I don’t want it to be like this slab, a big glacier.
On her first husband, Scott Foley
Oh he’s a great guy. We were full-on grown ups, but looking back I’m aware we did not know what hit us. We didn’t have a shot. He’s a really good guy, and we just imploded.
On Reese Witherspoon
Reese is one of my go-to mamas. She has such a big heart and a good head on her shoulders. She’s one of the people I go to and say, “Hey, what do you do about X, Y, Z,” and she always has an answer.
On her haircare routine
I have no idea how women who go to an office in the morning do it. I don’t use hair-care products, and I don’t blow dry. I don’t even know where the blow dryer is. So the thought of having to incorporate that into my morning just seems crazy to me.
On if she talks beauty with her girlfriends
If I get to sit down with my girlfriends, and I’m happy to include Jessica [Biel] among them. It’s hard not to talk beauty if you’re sitting with Jessica Biel because she is the most gorgeous person on the planet.

That last quote was from the video behind-the-scenes of Garner’s photoshoot and interview. I guess we have confirmation that she’s besties with Jessica Biel.
As for what she said about Scott Foley, it was very diplomatic. She was responding directly to a photo of the two of them together in 2000. (That photo is here.) Did you remember that Garner was married prior to Affleck? I didn’t. I mean I knew about it at some point, but I forgot. She was married to Foley from 2000 to 2004, and married Affleck a year later in 2005. In between there somewhere was Michael Vartan. Some say there was overlap in those relationships. Whatever happened, she strikes me as a serial monogamist, which isn’t a bad thing.

Devoting some time to her adorable children, Jennifer Garner took Samuel and Seraphina Affleck to the Farmers' market in Pacific Palisades yesterday (August 25).
The "Alias" beauty looked super cute in a bright blue sweater and dark washed jeans as she and the kiddos made their way past the shutterbugs waiting for them.
Recently, Miss Garner opened up to Allure magazine about her short lived marriage to 41-year-old actor Scott Foley.
"Oh, he's a great guy. We were full-on grown-ups, but looking back I'm aware we did not know what hit us," she explained to the publication. "We didn't have a shot. He's a really good guy, and we just imploded."
The couple met on the set of "Felicity" in 1998 and were married in October of 2000. After only three years of marriage, the pair called it quits, stating they had "irreconcilable differences."

Spending some quality time with her growing daughter, Jennifer Garner and Violet spent some time in the park on Saturday morning (August 24) in Pacific Palisades, CA.
Sporting jeans and a white button down, the ?Butter? babe pushed her oldest on the swing set, all the while capturing the event on her camera.
Last Sunday, the mother of three threw a 41st birthday party for her hubby Ben Affleck at their Brentwood home.
Guests at the causal get together included Ben?s pal and Good Will Hunting co-star Matt Damon and his wife and children.

Here are some new photos of Jennifer Garner out and about with her son Samuel Affleck yesterday in LA. We?re slowly getting to see more of Samuel these days ? it?s sort of like the Garner-Afflecks are American royalty, and like any royal family, they have to slowly ease their children into their public roles in America’s Dimple Parade. Newborns do not have to participate in The Dimple Parade. But once you start walking, you better start strutting those dimples!
Honestly, though, I?m kind of obsessed with Samuel. He?s SO blonde! Violet and Seraphina were blonde too, right? But were they this blonde? I forget. And I love how pouty Samuel is. He actually reminds me so much of Maxwell Drew Johnson, Jessica Simpson?s kid. All blonde hair and big pouts.
As for Jennifer? when did she gets bangs? Those are new, right? She?s currently filming Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, so I guess the bangs are for the movie. Let?s see? looking through our photos? yes, the bangs are new. Like, she must have gotten them in the past week. Hopefully the bangs will end when the movie is over. That being said, the bangs aren’t flat-out terrible on her. She just looks even more mom-ish.
And to give her a little bit of credit, this dress is one of the cuter things I?ve seen her wear in her casual outings. It?s still twee and it looks like an oversized version of one of Seraphina?s dresses, but it?s okay and it?s better than what she usually has on. As for whether or not she?s pregnant? God knows. How long have I been saying she looks pregnant? So, yeah, I guess I was wrong. She?s not pregnant. She just has weird posture and an organic, homemade burrito baby.
P.S. I loathe her bandage-colored shoes. I get that they?re comfortable and practical, but I?m sure Payless had other colors!

Bringing her little guy along to send his big sister off, Jennifer Garner and Samuel went to Violet's school in Pacific Palisades, California on Wednesday (August 21).
The "Alias" star looked cute in a sleeveless floral print dress and white sandals as she carried her adorable boy on her hip in his green striped shirt and matching pants.
Recently, the 41-year-old working mom spoke to Allure magazine in their September issue about being married to Ben Affleck.
Speaking about the importance of maintaining her own identity, Jennifer explains that she doesn't always have her A-list hubby by her side on the red carpet, noting, "It's a very conscious decision. Sometimes it's a pain because my heels are so high and it would be nice to have his arm. And he's such a great date! But it can be too much. I think especially for women, they can really lose their identity and just become 'wife of.'"

Playing the role of a responsible mom, Jennifer Garner escorted her daughter Violet to a doctor?s appointment in Santa Monica on Wednesday (August 14).
The ?Butter? babe, who recently testified in favor of stronger anti-paparazzi laws, kept her head down and held her little girl?s hand as they walked past a shutterbug and into the medical center.
Meanwhile, it seems Jen?s husband Ben Affleck may have a future in Washington DC, as he feels a passion for reforming politics.
Garner shared, "Right now [Ben] feels like he can do more good for people politically from outside the system. Would I be surprised if one day he did go into politics? No. But not now."

Jennifer Garner covers the September issue of Allure Mag. The photoshoot it pretty ? it?s not like they were trying to break any new ground with Garner in particular. It?s mostly outdoors, with Garner styled to look feminine and pretty and naturalistic. If you?re forcing me to nitpick (why do you force me?!!), the only bad thing I can say about these pics is that Garner?s lips look out of control. People have debated the naturalness of her lips before ? some people think she gets lip injections, some people say they?re natural. I don?t really know, but I do think they look fuller and plumper in these photos than they usually look. There?s some Kardashian happening here. Anyway, you can see the slideshow here and here are some highlights:
Jen doesn?t want to work with her husband: “Really, you don’t want to see a couple onscreen. People see paparazzi shots of us together all the time. There’s no mystery . . . People are sick of us.”
She doesn?t want to get in shape for a role: “There were times I had to watch every calorie that went into my body. Doing something like that again…it’s not exactly on the top of my list.?
She doesn?t want to walk the carpet with Ben either: “Sometimes it’s a pain because my heels are so high and it would be really nice to have his arm. And he’s such a great date! But it can be too much. I think especially for women, they can really lose their identity and just become ‘wife of,’” she says.
Her workout regimen: “I’ve been working out with Valerie Waters for 13 or 14 years. I’ll do different things. I did Spin for a little while, and I like yoga. I’ve been doing Pilates with this woman who was trying to get my abs back in shape after the last baby kind of did me in.”
Skincare: “I’m starting to use more stuff that has things like alpha hydroxy [acid] or retinol. But I really don’t believe that your skin-care products have to be the fanciest things in the world. I like drugstore products, especially sunscreen, because I use so much of it. I like Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid sunscreen SPF 70.”
She?s always wanted to be a mom: “[As a kid,] I had a baby doll tucked under my arm everywhere I went,” Garner says. When she was a young teenager, “my friend and I ran a babysitting service, C&J Babysitting. I think we made $2 an hour. If you’d said to me, ‘You could be a mom or you could be anything else in the world,’ I would have been a mom.”
Her mom: “My mother has the healthiest lack of vanity I’ve ever known. No layers, no perms, no colors.” No ear piercings, either. “Look,” she says, pointing out her unpierced lobes. Does she have any tattoos? A flash of shock streaks across the actress’s face. “Oh, my gosh, no! Garner girls don’t have tattoos.”
She had a clothing allowance as a kid: “We had a clothing allowance of $200 twice a year, and that had to buy our winter coat, our underwear, our shoes,” she says. To this day, Garner says she’s thrifty, although she prefers to call it “having common sense.”
On the possibility Ben will run for political office: “Right now [Ben] feels like he can do more good for people politically from outside the system,” she says. “Would I be surprised if one day he did go into politics? No. But not now.” And he would have her support. “I’m along for the ride,” she says.

Can you imagine all of the gossip that will come out if Ben really does run for political office one day? Although Jennifer Garner would be the perfect ?political wife? ? and perhaps she?s more suited to political office than Ben, quite honestly ? I think any campaign Ben would wage would be a hot mess. The stories of his past indiscretions would come out and it would be? amazing gossip.
I?m side-eyeing Jennifer?s comments about walking the red carpet with Ben, though. ?But it can be too much. I think especially for women, they can really lose their identity and just become ‘wife of.?? But isn?t that the exact game Jennifer and Ben played to get him his Argo Oscar? Then she was more than happy to be seen as the ?wife of? and I think it?s too cute by half for Jennifer to now act like it?s all about her feminist principles and being seen as a separate person. She has happily played up the Mrs. Affleck role when it suits her, and when it suits his Oscar campaign.

Holding on tight to her daughter's hand, Jennifer Garner ran some errands in Santa Monica, California on Monday (August 12).
The "13 Going on 30" star looked cute in a gray and white striped top with blue jeans and gray flats while Seraphina Affleck strolled beside her in a blue shirt, light cardigan, and Pink flower headband.
This past weekend, the 41-year-old actress and her hubby Ben Affleck found time in their busy schedules to have family time.
Picking up some produce for the week, the pair took Seraphina, Violet, and Samuel to the farmer's market in Pacific Palisades.
