Here are some photos from this weekend?s TIFF premiere of Hustlers. This is not the first ?premiere,? I don?t think? There was some kind of lowkey premiere event last week or the week before, it was in New York and it was basically the start of the promotional tour. I also just recently learned that there is a mood among critics that Jennifer Lopez should be and perhaps will be nominated for an Oscar in Best Supporting Actress for Hustlers. Which would be amazing, honestly. The point is that we?ll probably be talking about Hustlers for months.
For this TIFF premiere, Jennifer understandably went all-out. She wore a canary yellow Maison Yeya gown which would make most women look like Deconstructed Big Bird. But on J.Lo, the dress looks amazing. And yes, Alex Rodriguez was there to support her.
Constance Wu in Georges Hobeika. This looks super-cheap, right? Am I just imagining that because I?m over her?
Lili Reinhart wore Rodarte. Those shoulder flowers are? something. She?s beautiful, but the dress is A LOT.

Jennifer Lopez turned 50 this year. 50 is a big deal for most people, the usual card and slice of cake won?t cut it. But it especially wont do for JLo, so she created her own birthday celebration and took it on a worldwide tour. Jennifer just wrapped her It?s My Party Tour, which included an international leg. Jennifer took a video log of her travels/celebration that included behind-the-scenes clips, concert footage and personal moments with family so we could celebrate right along with her:
Jennifer introduced the video with a voice-over explaining why she choose to take her birthday global. JLo wants everyone to realize that women don?t have to hide in the shadows once they turn 50.
Everybody thought I was crazy when I wanted to go out and let everybody know that I was 50. That was something, like, ?Why are we highlighting this, again?? But for me, was important. It was important as a woman to do that. To let people know that you don?t get to write women off at a certain point in their life. You don?t get to write people off. You?re getting better and better as you go, so long as you are open to the experience of growing and evolving. And to me that was very important to put out there. And until we started the show, it just seemed like a fun idea to me, to have a party, all summer. Also, on the other hand, that it would be so much fun to celebrate my 50th birthday in this way.
I mean, I love it. You all are tired of hearing me wail about complimenting a woman on her appearance with the caveat ?for her age.? I am exactly like JLo, I?ll look for opportunities to tell people I?m 50. If I?d thought of it, I would have totally taken my birthday on the road (and am possibly mildly miffed she didn?t think to make our turning 50 in the same year a joint thing, but whatever).
She?s right, women need to remember that we can shine for as long as there is light left in us. And we need to do it in any way that makes us happy. Whether it?s filling laugh lines or rocking grey hair, I just want to see women out there being their version of 50 and not trying to imply there?s anything wrong with aging. I love that JLo blew the f?king doors off her birthday. If she?s turning her milestone into a movement, sign me up.

Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez clearly want to be their own ?brand? as a couple. They?re both crazy-rich already and they both have their separate celebrity brands. But they want to be J-Rod: The A-List, Over-the-Top Couple. They want their brand to be excess & family. They want free sh-t and they?re happy to promote that free sh-t with excessive YouTube videos in which they highlight their excess & family. So? what did Alex Rodriguez give Jennifer for her 50th birthday? A new car. A Porsche, to be exact. What could have been revealed in an Instagram post instead became an eight-minute YouTube video where we get to see A-Rod chatting with his daughters and setting up the car deal and then revealing the car to Jennifer (he felt her up during the reveal, which tells me he enjoys blindfolds).
The car is a 2019 911 Carrera GTS Porsche, which retails for $146,420 and he got it in lipstick red, and it was customized by the Ocean Auto Club. I assume it was comped too, considering this is just a not-so-lowkey ad for Ocean Auto Club. Alex also says that Jennifer ?hasn?t driven in 25 years,? which I didn?t believe until Jennifer said the same thing. Jennifer was happy about her gift, and she said, ?I?m going to have to drive? It?s beautiful! I?ve never driven a car like that! I?ve never had a car like this. I?ve never driven a car, period! My heart?s beating out of my chest!? She seemed genuinely pleased with her gift, which makes me feel? okay about this. I was going to grumble even more, but hell, she seemed beyond thrilled. It?s a wonder that, like, Marc Anthony never gave her a car??

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez got engaged in March, shortly after Jennifer looked really pissed off at A-Rod at the Oscars. Shortly after the engagement happened, various people rained on her parade and called Alex out for being a compulsive cheater. Which I believe, even if I question some of the specifics of when he cheated and with whom. Alex has always been a compulsive cheater, and I guess Jennifer just accepted it. But in the past few months, it has felt weird, right? They took forever in J.Lo-Time to get engaged, and now there?s zero rush to actually have the wedding. Some people think that they?ll never get married. All I know is that there?s a constant refrain that Jennifer is the one who seems a bit reticent. Not only that, but Jennifer reportedly does not want a big wedding. WHO ARE YOU?
When Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez walk down the aisle, expect it to be an intimate affair. In the new issue of PEOPLE, a source says the couple likely ?are not doing a huge wedding? and may instead opt for ?a small family celebration that will, of course, include all four kids.?
Indeed, their children (Lopez?s 11-year-old twins Max and Emme and Rodriguez?s daughters Natasha, 14, and Ella, 11) will play a part in their big day ? when that day comes. The source notes that the pair have yet to set a date.
?They are talking about the wedding, but nothing is finalized,? the source says of the couple, who got engaged in March after more than two years together. ?Her schedule is extremely intense, but she is super excited. Alex is very supportive and will be at most of her shows over the summer. They will travel as a family all around the U.S.?

A small wedding? Are you joking? I mean, I?m sure Miss Manners has some rules about one?s fourth wedding, but J.Lo usually does whatever she wants and she likes to celebrate and be the bride. Why is she denying herself the opportunity to really blow it out and throw a big wedding? My guess is that she knows that sh-t will come back to bite her on the ass when the marriage falls apart.
Additionally, Jennifer was asked about the wedding planning by Entertainment Tonight and she said they?re taking it slow and ?Theres no rush. We really see this as something thats gonna be forever, and were gonna just take our time and do it right. And do it not rushed.? Where is our ?in love with love? J.Lo? Who is this mature woman who wants to take her time and not rush anything?

Here are some photos of Jennifer Lopez out and about in New York yesterday. For several weeks, she?s been in NYC filming Hustlers with a splendid cast of ladies (including Cardi B and a banged Constance Wu). Yesterday, Jennifer stopped by a studio and these photos look like they?re part of a magazine photoshoot, mostly because Jennifer?s ensemble looks so uncomfortable. Sometimes her ?street clothes? just work, and sometimes it?s a miss. The combo of the high-waisted drapey trousers with the platform heels and the ?fur vest? it?s just a big nope. Jennifer also stopped by a radio station yesterday to chat about life in general, and she talked about whether she?s made any wedding plans with Alex Rodriguez yet:
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez dated for two years before announcing their engagement on March 9, and as Lopez reveals on WKTUs Cubby & Carolina In The Morning, they havent started wedding planning yet.
We just got engaged, and then right afterwards we started working right away and were working the rest of the year, so I dont know whats going to happen, she explains in the interview, which releases on Wednesday. We havent decided if were going to squeeze it in somewhere or were going to wait. I really dont know yet. Its easy [to talk about], Im not lying right now.
Lopez definitely has a lot on her plate. On June 7, shell be kicking off her Its My Party tour, to celebrate her upcoming 50th birthday. Shell be on tour for most of the summer.
The kids will probably be with me the whole time, she says of whether her 11-year-old twins, Emme and Max, will be joining her on the road. Alex has Sunday night baseball [for ESPN], so hell be in and out. He told me, Im definitely at opening night, Im definitely at closing night, in between well figure it out.

During one of our Gossip with Celebitchy podcasts a few weeks back, CB and I were talking about J-Rod and whether they would even make it down the aisle. CB brought up the idea that maybe this would end up being one of Jennifer?s broken engagements (like the Ben Affleck thing) because A-Rod is such a cheater. My take at the time was that Jennifer will never break an engagement. It?s not in her DNA, even if all of the red flags are there and even if her fiance is a terrible cheater. Jennifer will make it down the aisle. But honestly, I do wonder. She doesn?t seem like she?s in any kind of hurry to get married, which is so unlike her. Hm

Jennifer Lopez has already been on set, filming Hustlers for the past week. It?s filming in New York, and is the true story of a group of strippers who basically masterminded a plan to rob many of their rich clientele. Jennifer was joined on set yesterday by her kids, Alex Rodriguez, and either Jennifer?s nieces or Alex?s daughter. I think A-Rod was the one who organized this outing with the kids, and that they?d all go to the set to visit Jennifer.
Jennifer looked very happy that A-Rod was there with Emme and the girls. Jen also seemed especially glad to see the paparazzi documenting their family outing too. Gee, I wonder why? Is it because yesterday, we heard the sordid story of Alex allegedly hitting up a Playboy model just weeks before he proposed to Jennifer? The idea that A-Rod is a compulsive cheater is nothing new or particularly notable. What is notable is that Jennifer seems okay with just doing the most to convince us that there?s nothing to see here but an A-list couple and their happy family.
After Jennifer was done with work, she and Alex took Emme out to dinner at Polo Bar too, and it was another cute pap stroll go here to see those photos. Jennifer is so delightfully old-school about these photo-ops. I can?t hate her for it. Even though I think this posts headline will be evergreen!

You know what I enjoy? I enjoy the fact that Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are both richer than God and they still take on cheesy advertising contracts for some extra cash. I also enjoy the fact that Jennifer Lopez would never speak to People Magazine about her engagement UNTIL she had to shill for her new sponsorship. That?s how People got Alex and Jennifer on the record in this week?s issue they?re shilling for their joint contract with Australian eyewear label Quay. People Mag even got an exclusive first look at their print ad (you can see it here). Because Jen and Alex are total pros, they also gave People some quotes about the engagement. Some highlights:
J-Rod says they?re happy: Jen says, ?We?re really happy.? Alex says, ?We have [an] appreciation for where we are in our lives today, and that?s what we?re enjoying the most.?
Jen on Alex: ?Everything that we do, we do together. He knows my dreams and I know his dreams, and together we feel like we?re stronger.?
Jen on Miami: ?We all come down here and it?s our city, it?s our second home.?
Alex will be around while Jennifer works: ?I don?t have to play 162 games anymore, so I have a lot of time on my hands.?
Jen on how they support each other: ?We?re constantly supporting each other in our individual endeavors and thinking about all the things that we can build together,? Lopez says. Adds Rodriguez: ?We are very grateful.?

Maybe it?s because I sat here and culled all of People Mag?s fluff from the article, but don?t these quotes come across as somewhat? perfunctory? Bordering on terse? I just think that with the Jose Canseco eruption, J-Rod probably feels like their happy engagement announcement got steamrolled. Maybe they?re still salty about it. Or maybe this was an engagement band-aid. When we were recording our podcast this week, CB asked me if they?ll even make it down the aisle (note: CB cut that part, but we did talk about it). Im starting to wonder too.

People who can wear lots of jewelry while working out are INSANE to me. I could never wear any kind of rings or earrings to the gym. Jennifer Lopez doesn?t feel the same way on Friday, she was seen exiting a Miami gym with Alex Rodriquez, after a workout where she wore her gigantic new engagement ring (and big hoop earrings, I can?t). I also can?t believe her body at this point she?s 49 years old! She?s going to be 50 in July! My ass has never looked that good, not even when I was 18. Anyway, I?m talking about these photos because Page Six did a weirdly exhaustive story about The Love Story of J-Rod and what they?re really like as a couple, and the piece has tons of quotes from a ?J-Rod friend? and ?sources close to A-Rod.? Some highlights:

Let?s nip this in the bud right now: Alex absolutely wants to be the most famous guy in the room. He absolutely HAS to be the alpha. Tons of alpha men love to date or marry extremely famous women too, because they get off on feeling like they?re equally famous, and because they know the women?s fame will make them extra famous. The fact that Alex?s dating history is littered with famous women actually proves that he?s an alpha. True story, when I wrote about Jose Canseco?s accusations yesterday, I totally forgot that Jose Canseco is a terrible person. Canseco tweeted out several shady things on Sunday, claiming that Alex Rodriguez has been cheating on Jennifer Lopez with Jessica Canseco, who is Jose?s ex-wife (and A-Rod?s ex-girlfriend). On one side, we should definitely not be in the habit of considering Canseco to be a good source of interesting and truthful gossip. On the other side, A-Rod IS a cheater. He?s serially unfaithful to every wife and girlfriend he?s ever had. It is known. So would it really be shocking to think that a compulsive, serial cheater would also be cheating on his latest soulmate? Well, in any case, Jennifer Lopez doesn?t care. She?s unbothered.

You know what I?ve been thinking about a lot lately? Bennifer 1.0 and what an amazing disaster that was. All of the red flags were there too Ben Affleck was in and out of treatment facilities, he went from hobo to plucked and tucked and orange Oscar date. He looked like he wanted to die, but Jennifer kept sticking by him, even at the poker table, everything. I think that?s just who she is she believes that ?being in love? means ignoring every single problem, every single red flag. Anyway, I don?t think this will turn out like Bennifer 1.0. If you remember, I thought Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez looked particularly glum at the Oscars. Not even A-Rod it was all J.Lo. SHE looked over it, and like she was disappointed to be walking yet another red carpet with Alex. I theorized that a breakup might be happening, and I also felt like Jennifer was reaching a point where if Alex didn?t propose, she was going to call it off. Usually men propose to Jennifer much earlier in their relationships. She let it be known repeatedly that she felt like this A-Rod thing was going to end in marriage. And he still wasn?t proposing. I wonder if the Oscar-glumness was part of an ultimatum, because two weeks later, A-Rod proposed.
The proposal happened during their vacation in the Bahamas. I don?t know if their kids were with them, but I know that their blended family is very important to both of them. Still, I kind of wonder if Marc Anthony had the kids this weekend? Jennifer?s manager Benny Medina confirmed the news, and People Mag wants us to know that ?Everyone is super happy for both of them.?
