I?m pretty sure I know why I was given this story, and all I can say is, ?You go, J-Lo!? Jennifer Lopez, still looking stunning at 47, was a guest on Tuesday?s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, promoting the return of her NBC cop series Shades of Blue, which is scheduled to air its season premiere on Sunday, March 5.
During the interview, the topic of her recent romance with 30-year-old Drake (which is already a thing of the past) came up and Ellen pressed Jennifer for details. Jennifer got on the defensive, telling Ellen that she?s not out looking for younger men to date, asserting, ?It’s not like you have to be younger, it’s not about that. I just meet people and if I go out with them, I go out with them, and if I like them, I like them and if I don’t, I don’t. It’s just about the person. It?s about who they are, it has nothing to do with age.”
As for her relationship with 29-year-old former beau Casper Smart, she said, ?he was younger and that was the first guy I ever dated younger than me and then I got labeled right away.? She then spelled out what she looks for in a man, which is what I would assume any woman would look for, stating, “If they?re older, they?re older. If they?re younger, they?re younger. It doesn?t matter. It?s whether or not I?m attracted to them or not, attracted to their spirit, their soul, whatever their energy is.” You can see the clip below.
I never thought the words ?I can totally relate to Jennifer Lopez? would ever emerge from my lips, but I?m telling the truth here. A few years ago, I dated a guy 18 years younger than myself and I didn?t date him because of the perceived allure of that age difference. I dated him because of the person he is. I do feel bad that Jennifer – and other entertainers who date younger men (but not just for the sake of a reality show…*cough* Mariah Carey) get labeled like that. I?ve always said – and I believe it 100% – that you can?t choose who you love. As long as you?re happy, everyone is of age and no one gets hurt, the rest doesn’t matter. Screw the haters and live your best life. I think that?s what Jennifer is doing and I applaud her for it.
Oh, and for those of you who might still be ?shipping Jennifer and her ex-husband Marc Anthony, for whom rumors of a reconciliation continue to circulate, here?s some fuel for your fire. The pair reunited on Monday to celebrate the birthday for their twins Max and Emme, who turn 9 today. The kids? godmother, Leah Remini, took some time out of taking down the Church of Scientology to join Marc and Jennifer for the celebration, posting a photo with her husband, Angelo, and with Marc ?n? Jen.

Yes, I?m a Jennifer Lopez Apologist, so I was looking forward to seeing her at the Grammys. She hasn?t been everywhere during this awards season, which is unusual for J.Lo, and I was actually missing her a little bit. Jennifer wore this lilac Ralph & Russo gown which feels like it?s a bit too much for the Grammys. But since it?s J.Lo, I understand. Plus, I think the color is pretty and she looks great overall. She really, really did not want to talk about Drake though, did she?
Laverne Cox wore this Bryan Hearns dress and Laverne was really feeling herself. She was having a great time, she felt sexy, she looked sexy and everything was on fleek. Seriously, she looked amazing. That ponytail was everything.
Tori Kelly in Badgley Mischka. I felt a little bit sorry for her – she?s young, she?s cute, she?s got a nice voice, but she had no business taking part in that Bee Gees tribute. As for the dress? it?s pretty. Too many ruffles, but it?s fine.

You could tell right away, at the beginning of the People?s Choice Awards, that Jennifer Lopez was going to be one of the first winners. She was seated near the front, the cameras kept cutting to her and hey, she showed up to the thing. I actually missed seeing her at the Golden Globes ? she usually comes out to present and party, but not this year. This year she was too busy getting down with Drake, I suppose. As for J.Lo?s fashion statement last night? this gown is Reem Acra and it?s overkill for this event. It?s too matronly, right? Like, if Helen Mirren had worn this, I would have loved it (maybe). But on J.Lo, it?s too much. As for Jenny?s award, she took home the People?s Choice for Favorite TV Crime Drama Actress. _(?)_/
Priyanka Chopra won Favorite TV Dramatic Actress, her second in a row. She wore this pinkish Sally La Pointe dress which seemed to me like it could be an early-pregnancy maternity dress (my kingdom for a half-Indian Hiddlesbaby). It?s just the way the dress is cut on top. Really though, I just dislike this. I know Priyanka enjoys fashion, so my guess is that she just chose it because she wanted to twirl a little bit.
No shade: Ashley Greene in this purple Jeffrey Dodd number was one of my favorite looks of the night. You don?t need to wear a gown to the People?s Choice Awards and I love a good tea-length cocktail dress. The color is great on her too.
Jamie Chung in this lacy yellow Martha Medeiros is just? I don?t know? It feels too summery for a January awards show. The lace feels too antique-y and doily too, but you know me? I rarely like lace dresses.

Here are some photos of Jennifer Lopez out and about on Wednesday in Beverly Hills. She was shopping with some girlfriends (sidenote: she looks really busty in these pics, right? Is it just a great bra?). The shopping excursion came just hours after Jennifer and Drake coordinated their Instagram ?confirmations? that they are in fact together? or something. Both Jennifer and Drake dropped the same Instagram photo of themselves cuddled up together. The IG drop came just a few hours after Rihanna unfollowed Jennifer on Instagram too, so if we?re going by Rihanna?s actions, J.Lo and Drake are totally together (and RiRi is pissed about it). So what now? Now we get a source explaining how Jen and Drake are together but maybe not and who knows?
Jennifer Lopez and Drake continued to fuel romance rumors Wednesday morning when they simultaneously posted the same cuddly photo on their Instagram accounts, and now a source tells PEOPLE things are heating up.
?Jen is looking forward with excitement to the new year. She keeps hanging out with Drake, and he has visited her house,? says a Lopez source. ?She has nothing but nice things to say about Drake.?
Last week, an insider told PEOPLE the duo were just friends and were working on music together, but also spending plenty of time together.
But the Lopez source says while they ?do work on music together,? the pair also ?clearly enjoy each other on another level, too.?
?Jen loves the attention and she seems very happy to be spending time with him,? says the Lopez source. ?Drake is very charming. He treats Jen with lots of respect. She seems very smitten.?

I also believe that Drake loves the attention too, especially if it means that Rihanna is paying attention. As I keep saying, I?m all for this couple ? I think they suit each other publicly and privately. As in, publicly they?re both willing to play the game and that?s always fun. Privately, she loves being a cougar and having some boy-toy around who worships her and he loves having a high-profile official girlfriend.

Jennifer Lopez is a busy lady. She’s in the crime drama Shades of Blue on NBC, she has a Vegas residency at Caesars and now we’re hearing that she’s slated for one of those live action musicals which are inexplicably popular lately. Lopez is going to do a live version of Bye Bye Birdie on NBC, which is being coproduced by her longterm manager, Benny Medina. Apparently this was Lopez’s idea, because she needs to have a bunch of projects going at all times I guess.
NBC has a potent pairing for its 2017 holiday musical: singer-actress Jennifer Lopez starring in Bye Bye Birdie Live!
Lopez will play Rosie and serve as an executive producer on Birdie, which is based on the Tony Award-winning musical, NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt announced Thursday.
Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the award-winning team behind previous live NBC adaptations of The Sound of Music, Peter Pan and The Wiz, will be executive producers, along with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina. Broadway great Harvey Fierstein, who is starring in NBC’s December 7 production of Hairspray Live!, will write the teleplay adaptation.
?To have a superstar like Jennifer Lopez starring in this classic show, which every high school in America has done, will ensure that our holiday musicals continue to be must-see events for the whole family,? Greenblatt said in a statement. ?It was her idea to take on this classic singing and dancing role made famous by the legendary Chita Rivera, and we are so happy to oblige! This show has delighted audiences for generations with classic songs that include Put on a Happy Face and A Lot of Livin? to Do, and this will be an extravagant production built around this big star.?
Lopez also issued a statement: ?Broadway musicals and films fueled my childhood and Bye Bye Birdie was one of my favorites. I?m proud to be a part of the NBC family with Shades of Blue and I thought it would be a blast to take on one of their big live musicals.?

So now I’m reminded that Hairspray Live is coming. My God, what’s next – My Fair Lady, Fame, Hair, Rent, Guys and Dolls, The Music Man? I did some half ass googling and found that Rent and also The Music Man were in consideration. This trend needs to stop. Not all of these shows do well with audiences of course, The Sound of Music with Carrie Underwood was largely considered a flop and Peter Pan got mixed reviews. The latest remake, Fox’s The Rocky Horror Picture Show starring Laverne Cox did not do well at all, but that was pretaped so we can’t really lump it with this genre.
As for Bye Bye Birdie, I saw the movie with Ann-Margret when I was young and I can’t imagine anyone else in the role, but as the statement notes Chita Rivera is the original Rosie from the Broadway version and I’m mistaken about whom Lopez is playing. Ann Margaret played the teenager, Kim, and Rosie is the music industry secretary (played by Janet Leigh in the movie) who comes up with the scheme for the pop star to meet one of his fans. So this is a decent role for Lopez, it’s just not a musical which needs to be live. Grease wasn’t a total disaster though and they did a decent enough tribute. It’s easier to remake the classics then sell TV and movie executives new ideas. Can you imagine if she was still with Casper Smart? He would probably be playing the Elvis character or at least choreographing the thing.

When Jennifer Lopez dumped Casper Smart in late August, the gossip was a total yawn. Everyone in the world knew that Casper was and is shady, and the only real mystery was ?why did Jennifer stick with Casper for so many years?? The consensus around the breakup was sort of ?well, at least she didn?t marry this one,? which I do think is a major plus. That being said, there was some drama around the split, like questions about what exactly was the final straw, and whether Casper was trying to win her back by claiming squatter?s rights or whatever. Well, now that we?re about two months removed from the breakup, we?re finally finding out what really happened: Casper cheated on her.

?She kicked him out because he cheated on her and he got caught,? says the source. ?It happened two years ago, and he promised he would never do it again and once he did, she was done.?
Recently, the source says ?he?s been doing everything he can to get back together, working on himself and posting on his Instagram saying that ?Life is Good? and showing off his new leg tattoo that says ?You must embrace the darkness to see the light.?? While there were reports back in August that they broke up after Smart, 29, failed to attend a party in the Hamptons with Lopez, 47, the source says that is not the case.
?The truth is, he was cheating and now that it?s over he?s been begging to come back,? the source says. ?He says he?s changed and that he is a new man but recently, on a video shoot for Wisin in Mexico, he was posting videos with bikini-clad dancers and not acting like a guy trying to remedy old habits. He was kicked to the curb not because he did not attend a party with J. Lo but because he was caught having parties of his own,? says the source. ?No one has time for that, especially J. Lo.?
A rep for Smart confirmed that the dancer served as a creative director for a new music video for Wisin that was shot in Mexico this past week but added that everything was ?strictly work, nothing personal.?

Well? I?m glad she?s finally acknowledging that he cheated on her two years ago because she certainly acted like she didn?t believe those stories. There were also stories about Casper cheating on her in 2015 too. So is Casper a cheater and is that the real reason why Jennifer finally had enough? Probably. But I also think they?re still in contact and she?s still involved with him, at least emotionally. Look at that quote from the ?source? about Casper?s behavior while at a video shoot. If J.Lo didn?t care what he was up to, why all the pearl-clutching about Casper spending time with girls in bikinis?

Divorce isn?t always the end of a relationship. Yes, there are kids that keep exes in mandatory contact with each other and in the music business, there?s the prospect of once again making beautiful music together, quite literally. Singers Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony not only made two adorable kids, Max and Emme, during their 7-year marriage, they also recorded the romantic duet ?No Me Ames? in 2007, featured on Jennifer?s all-Spanish album Como Ama Una Mujer. Well, it seems the pair are heading into the studio together once again.
Last month, soon after kicking former beau Casper Smart to the curb, the 47-year-old singer alluded to the fact that she and her 48-year-old ex may be reuniting professionally, telling Extra, ?We?re talking about doing some stuff together.? Well, the “stuff” is an all new Spanish language album, Jen?s first since 2007?s Mujer. Marc is serving as executive producer for the new project under his entertainment company, Magnus Media. The album is scheduled for release via only Music Latin in 2017. Jennifer told Billboard that the first single will most likely hit the air in November and told the magazine, “I am so excited and really looking forward to this new musical journey and to celebrate my Latin roots with Marc Anthony and the Sony/Magnus family.” Marc also released a statement expressing his excitement about working with his ex again:
[Jennifer] has had enormous accomplishments in her career and has been representing our culture all over the world from day one. Her artistry, professionalism and passion for music are just some of the many attributes that have earned her a unique place in the entertainment world that very few people have been able to obtain. I am looking forward to our creative collaboration and to be part of continuing her musical legacy.

Not only is Marc serving as executive producer for the album, he will also “provide consulting services to Lopez in the areas of marketing, content development, and touring specifically for the Hispanic market,” according to E! News.
But, one burning question remains. Is Marc going to actually sing with Jennifer on the album? Jen has recorded some great duets with Pitbull, Ricky Martin and Prince Royce – who recently admitted that Jen served as his fitness inspiration. She most recently recorded the lovely “Love Make the World Go Round” with Broadway?s sweetheart, Lin-Manuel Miranda.And, of course, “No Te Ames” is a beautiful love song.
J-Lo may have hinted that the two may record together again, telling Access Hollywood just last month. “When we sing together, when they see us together, knowing our history, it brings a certain nostalgia. They know we care about each other and still love each other. We have two kids together and they love to see that things are good between us.” It remains to be seen if they’ll take us all down memory lane again, but it could be magic – just professionally of course. I mean, I get along great with my ex-husband…now…and I think we could work together just fine. I don’t see a second chance for romance for myself or for Jennifer and Marc. I do like Jen though and I hope she finds love. And, speaking from experience, she should probably look for someone close to her own age.

It’s really hard to believe that Jennifer Lopez is 47. She looks great, but you know she’s got to work at it. And that, she does. Not only is she juggling acting on the NBC series Shades of Blue and performing her show “All I Have” in Las Vegas, she’s also mom to 8-year-old twins Max and Emme. Oh, and she’s going it alone, after finally dumping beau Casper Smart. The former Fly Girl is the cover girl for the October issue of British magazine Your Fitness and shares some of her beauty secrets. Well, they’re not really much of a secret, if you think about it.
On working out: I love the way working out makes me feel, so I try to keep my body hydrated and well rested after every workout so I?m ready to hit it hard again the next day. I drink plenty of water, fuel my body with healthy foods and make it a priority to get eight hours of sleep a night. I also love to relax with my kids after a workout and share a healthy snack with them!
On keeping her skin healthy: Washing my face after training is essential. That helps keep my pores clean and my skin feeling healthy. Then I?ll usually put on moisturizer and sunscreen and maybe just a little make-up if I?m going out, or a moisturizer and eye cream if it?s the evening.

Jennifer also used the interview to plug her “health and fitness program,” BodyLab. She kept the conversation limited to the company’s line of protein shakes and didn’t make mention of the non FDA-approved supplements. I would love to have a body like Jennifer’s, but if I have to drink protein shakes to do so, forget it. I have yet to find one that doesn’t taste like chalk. Besides, chewing is fun!

As we learned earlier, Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart have broken up. While People Mag tried to make it sound like it was a no-drama split and they had simply grown apart, other outlets are saying that the split was melodramatic and stupid. We?re all going to sound so dumb when Casper and Jennifer get back together next week, right? Right. So, In Touch Weekly claimed that Casper was the one who ?walked out? on Jennifer, for reasons. Reason like ?Casper has long felt like Jennifer doesn?t put enough effort into their relationship or give him the respect he deserves as her partner.? BACK-UP DANCER, PLEASE. You were never Jennifer?s equal partner! You were her boy-toy. Meanwhile, TMZ is still insisting that Jennifer dumped Casper, for equally tenuous reasons.
Jennifer Lopez broke up with Casper Smart because he snubbed her by passing on a fancy Hamptons charity event in favor of hanging with his boyz at UFC 202 … TMZ has learned.
Sources connected with the former couple tell us … J Lo told Casper it was super important for him to accompany her to Ron Perelman’s Hamptons fundraiser Saturday night benefiting the Apollo Theater. Casper wasn’t having it, because he desperately wanted to watch the Conor McGregor/Nate Diaz fight in Vegas with his friends. Casper had a great time in Vegas, hanging with Kanye and UFC announcer Bruce Buffer.
J Lo, we’re told, was enraged and ended the relationship … no discussion — simply, we’re done. Here’s the funny thing … Casper was telling people at the fight he was going to NYC Sunday to meet up with Jennifer, who was there filming a show. He had no idea being a no-show Saturday would end things. Our sources add this … J Lo and Casper have “broken up” several times before and gotten back together, and they say they would not be surprised at all if it happens again.

More proof that Jennifer only thought of Casper as her beck-and-call boyfriend? Probably. Granted, the McGregor/Diaz fight was a HUGE deal for a lot of men, and I would imagine that there were a lot of guys at the fight who pissed off their wives and girlfriends because they prioritized bloodsport over love. I can?t believe I?m actually saying this, but if J.Lo actually dumped Casper because he wanted to watch one of the biggest UFC fights of the year, I might actually be on Casper?s side a little bit. Still, I?ve been rooting for these two to break up for so long, I do hope it sticks.

Multi-hyphenate (actress-singer-dancer) and very busy lady Jennifer Lopez is returning to film for a somewhat unexpected role. She is set to play Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco, known as the “Cocaine Godmother,” in an untitled project currently in development at HBO. Jennifer is also serving as executive producer for the film under her Nuyorican Productions banner. She announced the project on her Twitter feed on Wednesday, retweeting an article announcing the project and adding, “Here we gooo…”
