Around February and March, I sort of expected to hear something about Taylor Swift and what she was up to. You know why? Because that was when Tom Hiddleston was promoting Kong: Skull Island, and he was dumping out his purse about last year?s Tiddlebanging. I thought for sure that Taylor would get Us Weekly or People Magazine to do a story in which ?sources? talked about Tay-Tay?s many emotions in the wake of Tom?s tell-all GQ interview. But nothing happened. It was weird. Taylor has been largely M.I.A. for months now. We hear things every now and then, like Ed Sheeran saying that she?ll have a new album out later this year, that kind of thing. Well, now Entertainment Tonight has some more info:
Where in the world is Taylor Swift? The 1989 singer has left a blank space in the public eye in recent months, rarely sharing posts to Instagram and largely avoiding public events. Her mysteriously low profile has led many fans to wonder what she’s been up to since her last public performance on Feb. 4, during a pre-Super Bowl concert in Houston, Texas Well, fans need not wonder any longer — and should start getting excited! A source tells ET that Swift “has been busy working on her upcoming album.”
According to the source, the “Shake It Off” singer has been figuring out what the sound and feel of her new album is going to be, and whether or not she wants to continue in the pop genre that propelled her last album to record-shattering success, or return to her beloved country roots. However, the source did note that Swift’s next big album is expected to drop by the end of the year.
Swift has stayed off the radar in a big way while working on creating her new music. While typically ubiquitous on social media, the 27-year-old songstress has only posted to Instagram once in the last two months, and that was to promote the release of her friend and fellow pop diva Lorde’s latest single, “Green Light.”
While keeping out of the spotlight, ET’s source says Swift has been staying closer to home, spending time in Nashville, Tennessee, where the singer was recently spotted driving around just last week.
“She comes here to get away from the paparazzi,? an eyewitness suggested to ET.

I think it?s more than possible that Taylor – being one of the most self-aware women in the world – instinctively knows that she needed to try to be more mysterious and not so in-our-faces. I think it?s possible that she?s saving The Taylor Swift Show for the new album, so perhaps by November, we?ll be talking about All Taylor, All the Time.
Of course I have another little theory? I think Taylor is working on the album, for sure. But I also think she?s hiding out in Nashville while her latest ALLEGED plastic surgery heals. There were some weird photos of her in January where it looked like she had gone up a few sizes with her breast implants. And some fans think she got some booty implants too. Imagine Taylor strutting out in October with a body like Nicki Minaj!!!

Isn?t it pleasantly surprising that Taylor Swift can really go underground when she wants to? She?s arguably the biggest thing in music, and everyone thought she would be releasing new music right about now. We thought that we would be in the midst of a huge Swifty promotional tour to promote her album, complete with blind-item songs to analyze and eye-rolly quotes to Vanity Fair and Vogue about how the squad is for realsies and the big bad men did her wrong. But no. Tay-Tay has been in the wind, for the most part, for months now. No pap strolls in and out of the gym. No gratuitous Instagramming. So public friend-collecting. It?s been a relief, actually. I imagine Taylor sucks up all of the attention in whatever room she?s in, and she?s like that for gossip too – when Taylor wants attention, she gets attention and every major gossip story is about The Taylor Swift Show.
There is some evidence that we might get The Taylor Swift Show at some point this year though. Apparently, Swift has gone on a new trademarking binge, and there are rumors that she?s going to release her own streaming service:
Taylor Swift is done fighting Spotify and other streaming services for royalties, and apparently wants to become the master of her own destiny by starting her own streaming service. Taylor’s filed docs giving her the right to brand a website “featuring non-downloadable multi-media content in the nature of audio recordings.” Sounds like a streaming service to us. She wants to call the website “Swifties.”
You’ll recall Taylor famously feuded with Spotify over royalties and ended up yanking her catalog back in 2014. The move sent Spotify and others into crisis mode, fearing other artists might follow. It looks like Taylor’s going beyond a streaming service. According to the docs, she’s looking to launch a line of music products, including guitars, guitar picks, guitar straps and drumsticks. Her plans also include organizing retreats, educational camps and self-guided online courses. We reached out to Taylor’s camp, so far no word back.

Billboard had some additional analysis about the scope of these trademarks and theories about what Taylor is planning next. Gossip Cop got a very specific denial about TMZ’s story, btw. Gossip Cop’s source claims that Taylor is not going to do a Spotify-competitive streaming service but they say she definitely has some new ventures in the works. And just FYI: just because she wants to trademark all of this, that doesn?t mean she?s actually going to do anything with it, you know? She may just want to ensure that no one else can introduce or profit from a Swifties-branded venture. That being said, I think she?s gearing up for the mother of all promotional tours for a new album. I think she?s going multi-platform in a big way, and she?s determined to get #AllTheMoney. Which is her least annoying characteristic, honestly. I think Swifty is an a–hole for many different reasons, but I?ve always respected her business acumen and her brilliant marketing mind.

Taylor Swift has been pretty smart in the past month, hasn?t she? I mean, she?s given in to some bad instincts immediately following The Glorious Tiddlesplit of 2016, but after the first flurry of back-and-forth tabloid stories, she?s done well. She?s found a way to strike a balance between ?hiding away until the craziness blows over? and ?strutting around every day for the paparazzi.? She?s been visible, but it hasn?t been a constant barrage. She hasn?t said anything, but she?s not making a point to be ?quiet? either. These are some photos of Tay-Tay out about in New York yesterday. This month has been a barrage of ?90s fashion, and if Taylor is even climbing on the retro-flannel train, it might be time for me to invest in some of my favorite ?90s flannel styles.
A few nights ago, Taylor did make a big show of going out with some friends: Cara Delevingne, Lorde and Jack Antonoff. It was a reminder that while Tay?s squad might not assemble to vanquish Tay?s enemies at this point, they still like her well enough to go out to dinner. I honestly thought Lorde and Tay had some kind of falling out, it seemed like they weren?t hanging out at all for months. But I guess they?re fine. You know who else is fine? Tay and Calvin Harris. Hm?
Satan’s gonna need a winter coat — Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris are no longer at war after one of Hollywood’s nastiest breakups, and are firmly in the friend zone. Sources close to the former couple tell TMZ … shortly after Taylor and Tom Hiddleston broke up, Taylor and Calvin started texting and put an end to their drama.
It’s unclear who hit send first, but here’s what we do know — we’re told this is NOT a rekindling of the old fire. Also, they have NOT spoken on the phone or seen each other in person. It’s strictly text, but it’s been enough to erase the resentment that exploded after the June breakup … and that mess about who wrote “This Is What You Came For.”
There’s been buzz Calvin’s new single, “My Way,” is about getting over Taylor, but that had nothing to do with their decision to bury the hatchet. Besides, we’re told it’s really inspired by his old job at a grocery store. Nothing romantic … which is exactly how both sides describe the renewed friendship.

During the first blush of Tiddlebanging, when Taylor and her people were trying to destroy Calvin and Calvin was pushing back like a MF, I kept saying that it was a shame they were fighting ? they really were perfect for each other in a lot of ways. Calvin still remains her longest relationship and arguably her most ?mature.? Do I think that Taylor wants to get back with Calvin though? Eh. Probably not. And I doubt he wants to get back with her either. But my guess is that he was the one to text her first and he wanted to bury the hatchet.

I?m genuinely surprised that Taylor Swift didn?t get magically pap?d on Saturday, just so there would be new photos ahead of the Emmys. Maybe she?s waiting for tonight, you know? Maybe she?s waiting to show up ?unexpectedly? at the Emmys just so she can ?surprise? Tom Hiddleston. That?s what the Daily Mirror/Daily Star suggests ? their source claims Taylor?s name still appears on some guest list somewhere, and now ?his pals? hope that she does the decent thing (?) and stays home.
Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston could come face-to-face for the first time after their messy split at the Emmys on Sunday night. The former couple, who went public in June after Taylor’s split from boyfriend of one-year Calvin Harris, broke up earlier this month and since then it’s got quite messy. It will be a big night for Tom, who is up for the Best Actor award for his part in hit drama The Night Manager. But now it’s been claimed that Taylor is also on the guest list for the Emmys and his pals are allegedly hoping that the night is not spoiled by the former couple running into each other.
?Taylor is still on the guest list. But everyone on Team Tom is hoping and praying she?ll do the decent thing and stay at home and watch it on TV for his sake,? a source told Daily Star Sunday. ?He is still shellshocked over their split and just setting eyes on her could send him into a tailspin.?
It has been claimed that the Emmys team are working hard to make sure the pair stay clear of each other.

Taylor?s actually won an Emmy before, but I don?t think she?s ever attended an Emmy telecast, so why would she start this year, the year when her latest ex-boyfriend is up for some big awards? I don?t think Taylor is like that. Say what you will about the Snake Emoji, but she?s not usually that upfront about her stalking, you know?
Two more things ? one, Taylor did want to get some attention this weekend, which is why she announced a $50,000 donation to Ascension Public Schools in Louisiana. She also donated to a local food bank and Salvation Army chapter in Louisiana, and her giving likely exceeds the initial $1 million pledge she made in the wake of the Louisiana floods. It?s completely amazing she?s doing such high-profile donations. Period, end of story. Of course, it?s also completely amazing that her donations are announced at some really critical moments in the gossip cycle.
Last thing? Tom Hiddleston is probably going to present at the Emmys with Priyanka Chopra. There?s a photo of the two of them laughing together and now people are like ?Is Hiddles getting with an Indian lady?? As an Indian lady, I hope Tom does go for an Indian girl, just because it would be good for morale. I doubt it?s happening though.
