Here are some photos of Taylor Swift over the weekend in Martha?s Vineyard. She was all dressed up because she was her best friend?s bridesmaid! Her BFF is Abigail Anderson, and Abigail got married at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown. All of Abigail?s bridesmaids wore the same rich maroon color, although from the way Taylor was taking special care of the wedding dress train, I kind of wonder if Tay was the maid of honor?
A few more Swifty things. Taylor debuted a clip of a second single from her new album, Reputation. The song is apparently called ?Ready For It? and it debuted on ESPN, during the Florida State vs. Alabama game. That?s Taylor?s audience – red-state football fans. Here?s the ESPN promo:

Taylor Swift can stick to a narrative, even when that narrative she has created blows up in her face. Taylor has already decided that the narrative of her relationship with Joe Alwyn is going to be ?private, low-key.? The narrative is that Big Bad Tom Hiddleston was a terrible famewhore and she learned so much about what she does not want from her relationships. The narrative is that Taylor is just a simple girl who wants low-key love, and she will not parade around with her secret and private boyfriend. The problem with this narrative is that narratives need to be sold for them to work, which is why we have been inundated with stories from People Magazine, Us Weekly, E! News and The Sun about how Taylor Swift is so private now. If you have to tell every media outlet that you?re Super-Private and Low-Key with Your Secret Boyfriend, guess what? You?re not. But at least this time around, we don?t have to hear about swan pastries and fudge. Small mercies.
Taylor Swift is sharing a piece of her heart with Joe Alwyn. After secretly dating for several months, the pop star recently took her relationship with the budding British actor to a slightly more public platform by way of her cherished Nashville hometown. As photographers caught the lovebirds enjoying coffee and chatting on a balcony in Tennessee on Saturday, E! News has learned it was one of the many activities Taylor and Joe partook in during their “low-key” weekend getaway.
The duo spent time at Taylor’s mom, Andrea Swift’s, home, gathering close friends and family members for a small dinner party on Sunday evening. One source tells E! News, “Food was served and everyone hung out together for several hours.”
“Taylor and Joe headed back to her place later in the evening,” the source reveals. Additionally, we’re told Taylor and Joe ordered delivery and invited a few pals over to hang out. “Taylor wants to keep this relationship private and has been taking measures to keep things low-key and under-the-radar,” a separate source explains.

Would it be an invasion of the privacy narrative to wonder what kind of takeout they ordered?? Inquiring minds want to know! Was it Chinese? Does Nashville have any good Chinese places? It was probably pizza. It would excellent if it was like Swan Pastries To Go though. Also: how is that Taylor and Joe managed to date so quietly for months and months and now suddenly they?re doing coffee-on-the-balcony and takeout-at-home and E! News knows all about it?

There hasn?t been a lot of news about Taylor Swift lately, but that didn?t stop many outlets from running pieces about what Taylor was doing exactly one year ago. Last year at this time, Taylor met Tom Hiddleston at the pre-Met Gala dinner at Anna Wintour?s house. Then they spent time together at the gala, and there were videos of them dancing together. Shortly after that, Tiddles began and the Glorious Tiddlebanging got its first photo-op, on some rocks in Rhode Island. It was a special time, and I don?t blame media outlets for running ?remember the beginning of Tiddles? stories this week. I too have sort of missed Taylor Swift. She?s a snake, she?s a perpetual victim, she is a Darth Susan. But gossip is less fun without her and her whirlwind of manufactured drama.
We actually heard a month ago that Taylor has been hiding out in Nashville. Maybe ?hiding out? is the wrong term, because I?m not sure if she?s hiding or if paparazzi just haven?t been looking for her. Either way, Taylor has been largely MIA in 2017 and that?s by choice. She realized people were tired of her and she went away, and props to her for being that self-aware. She?s been working on a new album, and Ed Sheeran said she?ll probably release it later this year. I guess we need periodic updates on this, because E! News has another story which pretty much is the same thing we learned a month ago.
You may not be able to see her, but you may be able to hear Taylor Swift sooner rather than later. As the Grammy winner continues to live her life away from the public eye, many fans are wondering what their favorite singer has been up to. While she may not be active on social media or showing up to red carpets, E! News has learned that Taylor is focused on making new music.
“Taylor has been writing and recording her new album in Nashville for the last several months,” a source shared with E! News exclusively. “She has been working on it around the clock and will be making an announcement soon. She is really excited about her new music and can’t wait to share it with her fans.”
Our insider added, “She has been entirely focused on that and not much else. She has been 100 percent dedicated to making music the last few months and that’s it.”
While music remains one of her top priorities this season, the “Blank Space” singer has stayed in touch with those closest to her. In addition to sending close friend Gigi Hadid flowers on her birthday, Taylor “has spent some time with her family and friends” amid a busy work schedule. Once the album is complete, however, Swifties may be able to see a few gatherings with a few familiar faces.
“She is really looking forward to finishing the record and being able to have some down time to reconnect with her friends,” our source added.

Her last two relationships were with high-profile men, Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston. Will the new boyfriend be equally famous? My theory is that the new guy will be a country star, maybe. Like, I?m starting to wonder if there?s another reason (beyond ?work?) why she?s spending so much time in Nashville. The only thing is? most of those country dudes are already married or in relationships. Like, Sam Hunt would have been amazing for Swifty but he just got married. Hmm.

Around February and March, I sort of expected to hear something about Taylor Swift and what she was up to. You know why? Because that was when Tom Hiddleston was promoting Kong: Skull Island, and he was dumping out his purse about last year?s Tiddlebanging. I thought for sure that Taylor would get Us Weekly or People Magazine to do a story in which ?sources? talked about Tay-Tay?s many emotions in the wake of Tom?s tell-all GQ interview. But nothing happened. It was weird. Taylor has been largely M.I.A. for months now. We hear things every now and then, like Ed Sheeran saying that she?ll have a new album out later this year, that kind of thing. Well, now Entertainment Tonight has some more info:
Where in the world is Taylor Swift? The 1989 singer has left a blank space in the public eye in recent months, rarely sharing posts to Instagram and largely avoiding public events. Her mysteriously low profile has led many fans to wonder what she’s been up to since her last public performance on Feb. 4, during a pre-Super Bowl concert in Houston, Texas Well, fans need not wonder any longer — and should start getting excited! A source tells ET that Swift “has been busy working on her upcoming album.”
According to the source, the “Shake It Off” singer has been figuring out what the sound and feel of her new album is going to be, and whether or not she wants to continue in the pop genre that propelled her last album to record-shattering success, or return to her beloved country roots. However, the source did note that Swift’s next big album is expected to drop by the end of the year.
Swift has stayed off the radar in a big way while working on creating her new music. While typically ubiquitous on social media, the 27-year-old songstress has only posted to Instagram once in the last two months, and that was to promote the release of her friend and fellow pop diva Lorde’s latest single, “Green Light.”
While keeping out of the spotlight, ET’s source says Swift has been staying closer to home, spending time in Nashville, Tennessee, where the singer was recently spotted driving around just last week.
“She comes here to get away from the paparazzi,? an eyewitness suggested to ET.

I think it?s more than possible that Taylor – being one of the most self-aware women in the world – instinctively knows that she needed to try to be more mysterious and not so in-our-faces. I think it?s possible that she?s saving The Taylor Swift Show for the new album, so perhaps by November, we?ll be talking about All Taylor, All the Time.
Of course I have another little theory? I think Taylor is working on the album, for sure. But I also think she?s hiding out in Nashville while her latest ALLEGED plastic surgery heals. There were some weird photos of her in January where it looked like she had gone up a few sizes with her breast implants. And some fans think she got some booty implants too. Imagine Taylor strutting out in October with a body like Nicki Minaj!!!

Isn?t it pleasantly surprising that Taylor Swift can really go underground when she wants to? She?s arguably the biggest thing in music, and everyone thought she would be releasing new music right about now. We thought that we would be in the midst of a huge Swifty promotional tour to promote her album, complete with blind-item songs to analyze and eye-rolly quotes to Vanity Fair and Vogue about how the squad is for realsies and the big bad men did her wrong. But no. Tay-Tay has been in the wind, for the most part, for months now. No pap strolls in and out of the gym. No gratuitous Instagramming. So public friend-collecting. It?s been a relief, actually. I imagine Taylor sucks up all of the attention in whatever room she?s in, and she?s like that for gossip too – when Taylor wants attention, she gets attention and every major gossip story is about The Taylor Swift Show.
There is some evidence that we might get The Taylor Swift Show at some point this year though. Apparently, Swift has gone on a new trademarking binge, and there are rumors that she?s going to release her own streaming service:
Taylor Swift is done fighting Spotify and other streaming services for royalties, and apparently wants to become the master of her own destiny by starting her own streaming service. Taylor’s filed docs giving her the right to brand a website “featuring non-downloadable multi-media content in the nature of audio recordings.” Sounds like a streaming service to us. She wants to call the website “Swifties.”
You’ll recall Taylor famously feuded with Spotify over royalties and ended up yanking her catalog back in 2014. The move sent Spotify and others into crisis mode, fearing other artists might follow. It looks like Taylor’s going beyond a streaming service. According to the docs, she’s looking to launch a line of music products, including guitars, guitar picks, guitar straps and drumsticks. Her plans also include organizing retreats, educational camps and self-guided online courses. We reached out to Taylor’s camp, so far no word back.

Billboard had some additional analysis about the scope of these trademarks and theories about what Taylor is planning next. Gossip Cop got a very specific denial about TMZ’s story, btw. Gossip Cop’s source claims that Taylor is not going to do a Spotify-competitive streaming service but they say she definitely has some new ventures in the works. And just FYI: just because she wants to trademark all of this, that doesn?t mean she?s actually going to do anything with it, you know? She may just want to ensure that no one else can introduce or profit from a Swifties-branded venture. That being said, I think she?s gearing up for the mother of all promotional tours for a new album. I think she?s going multi-platform in a big way, and she?s determined to get #AllTheMoney. Which is her least annoying characteristic, honestly. I think Swifty is an a–hole for many different reasons, but I?ve always respected her business acumen and her brilliant marketing mind.
