Treating themselves to a delightful date night, Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson were spotted at the Adele concert in Los Angeles last night (August 15).
The ?With You? songstress and her handsome fiance hit up the Greek Theater for the gig, looking snazzy as they made their exit and headed home.
And it sounds like Jessica has a new enemy in Nicole Richie on their new reality series ?Fashion Star,? making for plenty of drama.
An insider told press, ?Nicole has made a few digs about Jessica ?throwing her weight around,? while Jessica has joked that someone would have to be on a starvation diet to wear Nicole?s designs. Now they?re barely talking, which doesn?t bode well for the show?s success ? and it isn?t even on the air yet!?

Access Hollywood has a new interview with Jessica Simpson, She’s promoting the upcoming Project Runway-type show she’s involved in with Nicole Richie and Elle Macpherson called Fashion Star. Jessica talks about her wedding plans with fiance Eric Johnson and says that no outlets have correctly guessed the date of her wedding yet. We’ve heard that it will be on November 11, 2011 as 11.11.11 has some sort of numerical significance for her, and we’ve also heard that she planned to have it earlier this month but decided against it as the date coincided with her ex Nick Lachey’s bachelor party. (I doubt that was true.) According to Jess, those dates are wrong and “not one person has nailed the date on the head.” What an awkwardly creative way to say something relatively simple. (Just in case that’s a variant of the phrase “hit the nail on the head” that I’ve never heard before I googled it and came up with 7 total results, one of which was for this story.) Jess says that only she, her fiance, Eric Johnson, and their wedding planner know the date they have in mind. They’ll probably have to remedy that soon if they plan to invite anyone. She also says that there are a lot of stories criticizing her, but that she doesn’t really care because she’s successful anyway. She seemed pretty happy and upbeat.

It is about making every woman feel beautiful whether you’re a size 2 or a size 12. You almost should be able to feel comfortable in the exact same dress and that what this show is about, it’s about selling to all of America.
On the tabloids speculating about her weight
As far as the scrutiny that I’ve gone through, I mean you can say all you want about me, but here I am and I’m still going and I’m still rocking amazing clothes and livin my life extremely happy and I don’t know, if you have something to say about it - look at my brand.

Well that’s a pretty positive way to look at it. She’s like “I’m rich, bitches. I may gain a little weight sometimes, but at the end of the day I look at my bank account, see my painful shoes walking around on everyone’s feet, take a sip of a big ‘ol margarita and laugh my ass off.” I like that she hasn’t turned into a twig on one of Tracy Anderson’s 800 calorie a day diet and that she’s like “whatever.” As for the rockin amazing clothes statement, I would beg to differ given her red carpet style. (It’s telling that she thinks the same dress can flatter all sizes and that’s all I’ll say about that.) Maybe she means that she’s making those rocking clothes, or hiring other people to make them, and then making bank off it. That she is indeed doing.

Did you hear the story about Jessica Simpson?s phantom pregnancy this week? Go here to see the photos - Jessica stepped out in a very clingy, unflattering dress and she appeared to have what was either a second-term fetus, or a significant beer/tequila/Scotch gut. Hours after the photos came out, Jessica?s rep denied the pregnancy, of course. At this point, I don?t see her getting knocked up before the wedding, which most people think is happening on November 11, one year exactly from the day that Eric proposed to her with that tacky-looking ruby ring.
Anyway, In Touch has a great story for anyone interested in a ?Stars: they have the same boring, tedious problems that I have!? story. This one is about SLEEP, one of my favorite subjects. It seems that Eric Johnson and I have one thing in common: we?re both early risers. The difference between us is that I get up to shower and work, while Eric gets up BEFORE the crack of dawn so he can go practice his golf swing. Yeah? if I was Jessica, I would be pissed off too.
The early bird gets the worm - and in Eric Johnson?s case, he also gets the wrath of his soon-to-be wife, Jessica Simpson. The unemployed former football player, 31, doesn?t have a job to report to every morning, but a friend of Jessica?s says he still likes to go to bed super-early and get up at 5:30 a.m. to go to the gym and practice his golf swing. And his senior-citizen ways are driving bread-winning Jessica, 31, up a wall.
?Jessica is getting annoyed - she makes the money but he forces her to wake up early and then plays all day long,? the friend tells In Touch.
Jessica doesn?t even seem to be putting him to work when it comes to planning and paying for their November 11 wedding. The friend says Jessica is controlling the guest list, the accomodations, the menu and even what Eric will wear.
?She told Eric to show up and that everything else will be handled. He has zero input in anything.? Except maybe what time they?ll wake up the day after!

Technically, Jessica doesn?t NEED to get up with Eric, but I?m betting that she wakes up when he gets out of bed, and is simply unable to go back to sleep. What an F-ing bastard. Jessica needs her sleep! BITCHES NEED THEIR SLEEP. Stop waking us up with your moaning and groaning and farting and morning boners and all of the early-morning sounds designed to make us get up and make coffee. Screw you, d-bags! Jessica should dump him just for this alone.

Jessica Simpson made the mistake of waddling around town in a dress that was two sizes too small last week, promptly sparking rumors that she was pregnant with her first child. The Daily Mail says:
The 31-year-old arrived for a business meeting in Beverly Hills last week wearing a very clingy beige dress that pulled around her stomach, leading to speculation she had a baby bump.
Simpson also appeared to [be hiding her midsection] behind a large black Yves Saint Laurent handbag.
However, her spokesperson told Hollywood Life: ‘She is not pregnant.’
Oh, good. She’s not pregnant. She’s just fat is all. Boy, she really dodged a bullet there!

I?ve always thought that Jessica Simpson is one of those women who gains and loses weight with a great deal of ease. By most accounts, Jess is very petite, and so an extra ten pounds is really noticeable on her, BUT she can also take it off pretty quickly. That?s just my theory - Jess?s weight seems to fluctuate so much because she?s so small, you notice, and because her diet is constantly in flux. Well, Jess just turned 31 years old - and she gave her boyfriend her credit card and demanded that he give her a fug Birkin for her birthday. Guess what else she got for her b-day? A wonky metabolism! Welcome to your 30s, Jess. You can?t take the weight off as easily as you used to! That?s what Star is claiming this week - that even though Jessica has been working with fraud trainer Tracy Anderson since the spring, Jess is gaining weight back!
She?s not a kid anymore, and now that Jessica Simpson has turned 31, preparing her November wedding to Eric Johnson has made her downright miserable. The problem? Staying in shape is harder than ever, and she?s worried how she?ll look in the wedding gown she?s designing herself.
?Jess is freaking out over her figure. She dropped 20 lbs, this spring but gained 10 back,? a friend tells Star. ?Since the beginning of June, she?s been working out two hours a day, six days a week. She?s constantly in a bad mood, nearly starving on a 1,500-calorie-a-day diet, and even admits she?s absolutely miserable instead of filled with happiness and excitement.?
Adds the source, ?Poor Jessica, she should be basking in the glow of pre-wedding joy. Instead, she?s stressed to the max.?

I think it?s probably a combination of things - slower metabolism in your 30s, plus Jessica could be working out so much she actually gaining weight in muscle. Also: I bet Jessica is still drinking quite a bit, because the girl loves her liquor. That will put on weight and keep it on for a while. That?s one of the reasons I?ve stopped drinking for the past? oh, four months or so. I wanted to see if the liquor was really making a difference in my weight. It was!

Jessica Simpson turned 31 and to celebrate, her fiance Eric Johnson spared no expense, took her credit card and bought her a $15,000 Hermes Birkin Bag. That’s Jessica kissing it up top. Don’t mind the wet spot when she gets up. That just means the bag’s magical powers have taken effect. She even tweeted, “Eric made my birthday!! I have never been more surprised in my life! Jackie O who? ;)”
But what’s going to be even more surprising is the $15,000 charge Jessica sees on her credit card bill next month. Luckily, it’s the thought that counts.

I think I?ve documented my love of Hermes Birkin bags before - I lamented when Sofia Vergara used her Birkin as her gym bag, and then I kind of got over my love Birkins when Kim Kardashian bought one in practically every color and then began to use them nonstop. And now I have another reason to dislike Birkins: Eric Johnson gave Jessica Simpson a Birkin for her 31st birthday yesterday. Can you believe Farty is 31?!? And can you believe how fug this Birkin is? ORANGE?!? Sure, it?s ?Hermes Orange? (I think that?s an official color), but if you?re going to get a Birkin, why not blue? Black? White? NOT ORANGE. Is it that Eric just went into Hermes and grabbed the first one he saw?
But the Birkin made Farty happy. She tweeted, ?It is only 1pm and i think i have pretty much heard from everyone in my life!! That is a birthday record!! Huge smile on my face! Eric made my birthday!!! I have never been more surprised in my life! Jackie O who? ?. Cute. At least she loves it, I suppose. By the way, a new Birkin goes for something like $15,000 (a used one goes for around $10,000). I wonder who really paid for this Birkin?!?

OK! Magazine has a new piece about all the problems Jessica Simpson is supposedly facing ahead of her wedding, which is rumored to be taking place this fall. The article focuses on whatever competition she may be feeling as her ex, Nick Lachey, marries his longterm girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo this summer. I would say that’s overblown, but remember that Jessica announced her engagement to Eric Johnson just a few days after Nick and Vanessa did. Nick couldn’t give a crap, though. It’s not a race for him. So I think Nick’s upcoming wedding may bother Jessica, but maybe not to the extent the gossip press would have us believe. She’s probably wanted to remarry for ages and the fact that it coincides with Nick’s wedding this year is just earning her more publicity.
Anyway some of OK!’s story sounds fake to me. They claim that Jessica wanted to have her wedding on July 2 but found out that Nick’s bachelor party was then so they rescheduled. We’ve heard that she’s having it on 11/11/11 for superstitious reasons so that doesn’t seem likely that it would happen this summer. I’m not above repeating this though of course.
They couldn’t agree on a venue
“Jessica had her heart set on a tropical destination,” a longtime pal tells OK! “She was pushing for Turtle Island resort in Fiji.” But that’s where she went on her first honeymoon with Nick. “Eric felt like it was a bad omen,” says the pal. That upset Jess. “She said she didn’t want to go through with the wedding if it was going to start all these fights,” adds the source.
She’s losing the weight war
Although Jessica thinks she’s good the way she is, weight is still a sore point. “She gets irritated that if you google her name, all that comes up is ‘Jessica is fatter than Vanessa [Minnillo],” says the source… “She feels like it’ll haunt her forever, so she’s insecure about it.”
She didn’t want to compete with Nick’s party
Jess and Eric were set to wed July 2 - the same day as Nick’s bachelor party at Tao in Las Vegas. “She doesn’t like competing with Nick. She didn’t want to walk down the aisle when Nick and Vanessa were doing something wedding related… She wanted her special day to be hers.”

OK! also claims that Jessica’s sister Ashlee’s split with her husband has Jessica “rattled,” and that Ashlee is “urging Jess to take things as slow as possible.”
Meanwhile Nick is moving forward with plans to marry Vanessa on an unspecified date. They’re going to have a wedding special on TLC but he told the press over the weekend that it will be a one-off special. Nick claims that they won’t be getting a reality show like the one that skyrocketed him to fame with Jessica. He said “I would never want to put ourselves through a reality show again. This is a different process: There’s a beginning, an end, and then it’s over, it’s done.” At first I really thought he was talking about his first marriage to Jessica.

Oh, GOD. Farty got a job! Sorry, that was mean. Farty already has a job - a big one, where she?s a big-time designer of her own billion-dollar branded industry. But Farty wasn?t content with just doing the clothing-purse-shoe thing. No, Farty wants to take her fashion sense to the streets! Or, to NBC. Apparently, NBC is beginning what seems like a Project Runway-esque style show called Fashion Star. It?s a reality series with Farty as the ?celebrity mentor?. Seriously. Jessica Simpson will “mentor aspiring designers as they compete for the chance to win a multi-million dollar contract to launch their own brands.”
Jessica Simpson’s got a new gig! The 30-year-old engaged fashion designer is set to appear as the celebrity mentor on NBC’s new reality series, Fashion Star, the network announced Monday.
“NBC is delighted to work with singer, designer, actress and pop culture icon Jessica Simpson,” the network’s Executive Vice President of Alternative Programming Paul Telegdy tells Us Weekly in a statement. “With an almost billion dollar lifestyle brand under her belt she is sure to be an excellent mentor to our up-and-coming designers.”
Simpson — whose Jessica Simpson brand has raked in $750 million in 35 countries — will join supermodel host Elle Macpherson for the series, which searches for the next big fashion brand.
Fashion Star’s 14 designers are sure to learn a lot from Simpson, named Us Weekly’s Style Icon of the Year.
“I’m in the workroom in [L.A.'s] Westwood a few times a week from 11 to 7 at night,” says Simpson, who’s completely hands-on with the creation of her chic but affordable line. “Nothing goes out without me seeing it or my mom [Tina Simpson, cocreative director] seeing it,” Simpson explains.
Fashion Star’s debut date has yet to be announced.

My first reaction: no one who has worn reindeer tights stretched to their very limit should ever be a style mentor. My second thought was about Jessica?s ?judge? duties on last season?s Project Runway finale, where Jessica looked like hell, but she seemed kind of smart-ish and knowledgeable (about fashion).
SO? this could get interesting. As you might remember, I?ve sworn off Project Runway after that horrible, terrible, untalented, nasty, ridiculous piece of work Gretchen won last season. Jessica was there - she saw what went down and she was on Team Mondo. My hope is that they organize this show really well, and put Jessica with some strong personalities, but not so strong that they?ll shout her down. I get the feeling that Jessica ?gives in? when challenged, so she?ll need to stand up for her ideas. UPDATE: Crap, Elle Macpherson is the “host” of the show. Elle is totally CRAZY. This show is going to be insane (and insanely good!).
It just occurred to me - if she?s the ?mentor? does that make her the ?Tim Gunn? of the show?!!? Oh noes. Now I can?t wait to watch it.

Since Jessica Simpson doesn’t do much else these days, the tabloids have had to satisfy themselves with rampant speculation about her impending marriage to slacker Eric Johnson. First, there was the theory that Jessica had developed cold feet over those upcoming nuptuals with her “annoying K-Fed.” Yet almost immediately afterward, the word came out that Jessica was excitedly splashing out over $1 million on an 11/11/11 wedding in Hawaii. Next up, an alleged wrench has been tossed into the couple’s happiness, for In Touch reports that Jessica’s dad has begged his oldest daughter not to marry Eric because “[h]e fears his little girl is rushing into another bad marriage.” No kidding, right?
Wedding dress shopping? Check. Rings? Check. Location? Check. Seal of approval from the father of the bride? Not so much. Though Joe Simpson was intially a fan of Jessica Simpson’s fiance, Eric Johnson, the overprotective dad is now singing a different tune. It seems Eric’s unemployed status — the former pro-football player was in grad school for business before dropping out after meeting Jess — is causing some major concern: “It bothers Joe that Jessica is paying for everything and that Eric really doesn’t have a job,” reveals a friend. So much so that Joe is pressuring Jess to call off the wedding completely! “Joe thinks Jessica can do much better and that’s the bottom line,” adds the payl. Of course, the rift between the two most important men in Jessica’s life is making her upset and feel like she’s trapped in the middle. “Jessica is a daddy’s girl, so it bothers her that Joe no longer approves of Eric,” the friend explains. “She’s really torn.”

There very well could be more than a little bit of truth to this report because — let’s face it — Papa Joe probably doesn’t want any other man to take his place in Jessica’s life. Also, it’s rather bizarre that Jessica picked this guy up, and he immediately dropped out of his graduate-level program just to follow her around the world without any designs towards a career of his own. Still, what does Jessica herself do all day anyway? Sure, she’s supposedly got her fashion “empire” and has those past earnings upon which to live, but the only actions that I’ve ever observed from this girl for the past several years (since her pop star career deflated, unlike those boobs) would be Jessica walking around carrying oversized purses. Literally, that is all she ever does these days, and I don’t think she even has the excuse of carrying a dog around in those bags anymore either. At this point, I think Jessica just wants to be married again more than anything else in the world, and since she’s found a man who’s willing to deal with all of her trappings, Jessica will talk Daddy into giving his blessing for this second marriage. With a massive prenup, natch.
