Jessica Simpson announced last week that she?s going to do her ?body after baby? reveal today, on Katie Couric?s new daytime talk show. Something tells me that Katie is going to be kind of pissed that Jessica has already been photographed just this weekend, showing off some of her figure at LAX on Sunday. Of course, Jessica seems to be wearing an oversized tunic-type caftan/blouse (which I love, actually), so maybe the big ?reveal? will include booty shorts and a tank top. You seriously never know with Jessica. I will say this: I think she looks pretty good here. The weight has noticeably come off of her face, and she simply doesn?t look as uncomfortable as she did while pregnant. But did you know that Jessica claims she only got up to 170 pounds while pregnant? Seriously:
Jessica Simpson is taking her post-baby weight loss efforts seriously — and it’s paying off, big time. On Sunday, the mom to Maxwell headed to LAX to catch a flight to NYC. Before boarding her flight, Simpson, 32, looked comfy, casual and slimmer than ever in a black tunic and formfitting black pants.
The Fashion Star mentor is slated to make her first public appearance since giving birth four months ago during a chat with Katie Couric on the TV host’s new talk show Monday.
Last week, Simpson opened up to Us Weekly about her success using Weight Watchers so far.
“I’m 10 pounds away from my pre-baby size,” said the singer/designer, who got up to 170 pounds while pregnant.
In addition to adhering to the popular point-based eating plan, Simpson said she’s working out four times a week with celeb trainer Harley Pasternak.
“Her waist is going in, and her thighs are getting smaller,” Pasternak said of his A-list client’s progress so far.
Though she still has a little bit of work to do before she’s back to her goal weight, Simpson is confident she can make it happen. Now that she’s a mom, she told Us, “I believe I can do anything!”

I believe that she?s probably about 10 pounds heavier than her pre-baby weight. I believe that more than I believe she only got up to 170 during her pregnancy. I know, I know ? Jessica is a short girl, etc, and her figure doesn?t ?mask? weight very well. But I still think she was heavier than 170. Anyway, I guess I?m glad Jessica finally put in the work and she fulfilled her $4 million Weight Watchers contract. I just hope we don?t have to hear about it for the next 10 months.

It’s been a long and slow climb for Jessica Simpson to get back to her pre-baby weight. I’m not even talking about her pre-baby pre-weight gain weight either. This is due in part to her eating everything in sight because she thought being pregnant gave her a license to treat her body like a parking lot for food.
“I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it,” she told USA Today. Let’s be real here. She started enjoying herself long before she was pregnant. It seemed to start in 2009and was really evident in 2010. By 2011, all hope was lost and weeklies were already saying she was pregnant. When she finally did announce her pregnancy, she started cramming exponentiallymore food into her mouth like a bear going into hibernation.
Now she’s realizing that a 3 year binge-fest hasn’t done her body any favors signing a $4m Weight Watchers deal which she’s not any closer to completing because she’s already making excuses for not being able to really dostrenuouscardio. While Jessica says she works out with a personal trainer four to five times a week, they mostly do a lot of walking because “my boobs are way too big to run at this point.”
You know what exercise Jessica probably loves the most and CAN do? Curls. Mainly because the motion is not unlike the one she uses to shovel food into her mouth.

Fame/Flynet tagged them: ?New mom Jessica Simpson looks to drop her baby weight after working out at a gym in West Hollywood, CA.? So, which is it? Is The Jessica Simpson Weight Conundrum so massive (so to speak) that Jessica can only work out in the privacy of her trainer?s home, or is Farty McDonalds going to an actual gym? I have no idea.
Whatever the deal is, I feel sorry for her. LOOK AT HER RACK. Her boobs are so big, I can feel her back pain from here. Little Maxwell Drew is, for sure, one well-fed baby. Speaking from experience, when your boobs are that big, you have to approach workouts in a completely different way. There is no way that I would ever workout with my t-ts hanging out like Jessica is doing here – I would just be so uncomfortable. But? I would imagine that doubling up on sports bras probably hurts your nursing boobs, right? Also: I eschew running, just because no one needs to see my DDs flopping around. I would imagine Jessica is the same – no running. Plus, she?s still recovering from her C-section! Shouldn?t she give her body a chance to rest for, say, six full weeks before exercising? Eight weeks? Of course, Jessica was already having sex just a few weeks after her C-section, so God knows. Maybe she?s just a miraculous healer.
Another reason to feel sorry for her: her multimillion dollar Weight Watchers deal is like a bounty on her head. I really think that Jessica regrets signing on to Weight Watchers, and I?m guessing that she?s already looking for a way out. But Weight Watchers is going to hold her to it – and God knows what will happen if they don?t see results quickly. Do you think Weight Watchers would actually sue Jessica for breach of contract if she doesn?t lose weight? Poor Jessica.

Whenever I?ve written about Jessica Simpson in the past week, I?ve sort of idly wondered if she did end up having a C-section, as was widely reported before the birth of little Maxwell Drew. I wouldn?t blame Jessica if she did have a C-section – she was so big, and seriously, WHY NOT? I don?t get judgy about elective C-sections. This week?s In Touch Weekly – the publication that correctly identified Jessica?s baby name – says that Jessica totally had a C-section and that it was ?painful.?
Of course, this piece of information comes in a story that I don?t put a lot of stock in – it?s all about how Jessica is going right back to work immediately, which? isn?t happening. Sure, Jessica has got the deal with Weight Watchers, but I don?t see her starting that for several months. In Touch also says Jessica gained a total of ?80 pounds? while pregnant. Do you believe that? I?d say 50-60 pounds – remember, Jessica is a short girl, and remember where Jessica started out. Thankfully, In Touch says that Eric Johnson is encouraging Jessica to take it easy, to spend time with the baby and to not stress out over the weight. This seems to be the new theme in this week?s tabloids - ?Eric is actually an okay father.? The Enquirer has a story about that too, and I enjoyed the hell out of it:

?Both Jess and Eric are infatuated with baby Max that she?s always in the arms of either her mommy or her daddy,? said the source. ?She weighed 9 pounds 13 ounces at birth and is like a little Butterball turkey. Her chubby cheeks and roly-poly legs crack up Jess and Eric. Jessica is still tired from the birth and trying to catch up on her sleep. But Eric has been getting up in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning just to look at his new daughter and listen to her breathe.?
?Eric?s been singing silly songs and talking like a baby to Max,? said the source. ?And Jessica is having a great time watching the two bond. Life has never been better for them.?

Aren?t they mostly wrinkled, and then they start getting the ?chubby baby legs? when they?re, like, two months old? I have no idea. Because I?m not a baby person. If you want to talk about dogs, that?s my wheelhouse. Anyway, I did like that Enquirer story. I mean, of course Eric really doesn?t have anything else to do but be a good dad – it?s not like Eric has a job or anything. He?s a total K-Fed. But it?s nice that he?s being super-supportive and that he?s already enchanted by his little girl.

In real life, people have to pay other people like personal trainers to force them into shape. In the celebrity world, organizations pay people like Jessica Simpson $4 million ($3 million if you listen to ABC News) to stop being so fat.
On one hand, it’s sort of unfair. On the other hand, no one wants to keep looking at a fat Jessica Simpson.
?She?ll have to meet the weight-loss goals for the deal to go through,? says the source. And for that, she?ll need to get serious with a celebrity trainer. ?She hasn?t chosen a trainer yet,? the source adds. ?In fact, she hasn?t even thought about working out for a year. [ed note: obviously]But if she wants this, she?ll need to work out a good five days a week.?
Before things spiral out of control, someone should tell Jessica that Weight Watchers doesn’t mean you just stand on a scale and watch your weight go up as you tear into a drumstick.

Jessica Simpson finally gave birth to her daughter Maxwell Drew last week, on May 1st. Since the birth, the tabloids have been full of stories based on ?unnamed sources? that sound a great deal like Papa Joe Simpson (especially the stuff about Jessica and breastfeeding, of course). But until now, Jessica hasn?t said anything beyond the official announcement on her website. Last night, Jessica finally tweeted about her baby girl, writing, ?I am so in love with baby Maxwell. I want to cry every time I look at her. Motherhood is by far the best thing I’ve ever experienced.?

She?s so cute. I really do like Jessica, you know. I think she needs a better internal filter so she doesn?t end up giving interviews about her bodily functions, and I?m going to be forever haunted by the visual of her gushing amniotic fluid, but still, I like her. I hope motherhood is everything and more for Jess. Also: what do you think of Jessica using her daughter?s full name, Maxwell? I thought she was going to call her ?Maxi?? Did she have second thoughts?
Life & Style (via HL) also has a source who claims that ?Maxwell looks a lot like her mom: same cheeks and nose! Her hair?s brown, but it?s getting blonder every day.? Yes, because heaven forbid Jessica Simpson give birth to a brunette!!! The (blonde) angels would weep. The friend also says that Jessica is breastfeeding like a champ and she?s changing diapers too: ?She was born for this role.?

Yesterday, Jessica Simpson gave birth at long last. It felt like she was gestating for more than a year, especially considering I (correctly) called Bump Watch on Jessica way back in September of last year – because she already looked three months along at that point. It?s totally fun to go back and look at the photos of Jessica in her first trimester – she was showing so early! That?s why people think she was pregnant for so long. As for the name – Maxwell ?Maxi? Drew Johnson – well, there are some complaints. Us Weekly explains why Jessica and Eric chose the name:
Jessica Simpson’s name for her baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson, has received mixed reviews from her fans. But the name is very special to her family! The new mom and her fiance Eric Johnson welcomed Maxwell into the world on Tuesday morning.
Announcing the birth on her website, the singer and designer wrote, “Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby Maxwell Drew Johnson 9 lbs. 13 oz. 21 3/4.”
Both the Johnson and Simpson family names are carried on with the couple’s new daughter. Maxwell is Eric’s middle name and his grandmother’s surname. Maxwell takes her middle name from maternal grandmother Tina Simpson, whose maiden name is Drew.
Without revealing the name, Simpson talked about the baby name in the April issue of Elle saying, “It’s nothing shocking and nothing you’ll have to add to the dictionary. Still, when people hear it they’ll know ? why.”

Now that I know that it?s a ?family name? I like it a bit more. I like the idea of naming a kid after a grandparent or beloved aunt or something like that. But naming a baby girl her father?s middle name? Eh. I truly thought there would be a more Southern flavor to the name – like, Something Leigh or Magnolia BBQ.
Oh, and Hollywood Life claims Jessica is staying in a three-room maternity suite at Cedar-Sinai in LA at a cost of $3,784 a day. I still think Jessica probably had a C-section.
Us Weekly also has a story in which Jessica?s mother, Tina, was overheard talking about her newborn granddaughter, saying: ?Maxwell is so precious and peaceful.” And just hours before Jessica gave birth, the Simpson family and the Johnson family all had breakfast together. An eyewitness says: ?The party included Joe and Tina Simpson. They all sat at a corner table together and were in good spirits. The family was joking about astrological signs and what traits various family members had, and what the new baby could be like. Tina said she felt Jessica was in good spirits while others joked Eric seemed to be the nervous one.” A May 1st birthday means little Maxi is a Taurus. It?s a good sign – I have a lot of Tauri in my life. They?re all stubborn but generous people.

Circus Tent with Hair Jessica Simpson took to her official site today to announce that after a particularly unpalatable 26 months of gestation, she had finally given birth to a baby girl. People Magazine says:
The star and her fianc Eric Johnson welcomed daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson on May 1.
“Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson,” she wrote. “We are grateful for all the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!”
The baby weighed in at 9 lbs. 13 oz. and is 21 inches long. Maxwell is Johnson’s middle name, while Drew is Simpson’s mother Tina’s maiden name.
With a name like Maxwell Drew Johnson, it’s a pity that kid wasn’t a boy. Think about it. Then his name would be Max Johnson. Not since “Hugh E. Rection” has there been a name that’s resonated with me on such a personal level!
I just hope all the king’s horses and all the king’s men find a way to put her back together again:

After a two year pregnancy, Jessica Simpson finally pushed out that parasite that’s been feeding off her body. It came out in the form of a screaming 9 pound 13 ounce baby girl named Maxwell Drew Johnson. A pretty lame name. I was hoping she’d name her Macmallan Single Malt Johnson. Alas, it was not to be.Jessica and Eric used Drew because it’s Jessica’s mother’s maiden name.
Jessica wrote on her website, “We are so gratefulforall of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives.”
