So boring. Julia Roberts took the ?Most Beautiful in the World? honors yet again! I believe this is the third time - I remember she was ?Most Beautiful? in 2005, and I believe she got it at least once before then. If People is looking for repeat beauty offenders, can Halle Berry can some love? Oh well. At least they?re not trying to convince us that Drew Barrymore is ?Most Beautiful? again - and I don?t mean as disrespect to Drew, who I do think it cute, fun, sweet, interesting and attractive. But I just think the ?Most Beautiful? headliner should be a true beauty of the ages, you know? Is that Julia? Eh. Sure, at one point, I?m sure there were millions of women who put Julia at the top of their ?Most Beautiful? list. But now? See how far People Magazine climbs up Julia?s ass:
When you’re the World’s Most Beautiful Woman, there are a few things to always remember before leaving the house: Brush your teeth. Don’t take longer than the kids to get ready. And leave certain things (hair color and waxing) to trained professionals. Or so says Julia Roberts in an exclusive Q&A to celebrate her fourth turn as the cover girl for PEOPLE’s Most Beautiful issue.
Though it’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since Roberts starred in Pretty Woman, her relaxed vibe about beauty has served her well over the years. “She’s never looked more beautiful,” says Ryan Murphy, the director of her upcoming film, Eat, Pray, Love, based on the huge bestseller. “She is so happy and fulfilled and it shows.”
At 42, the mom of three (twins Hazel and Phinnaeus are 5 and Henry is 2) signed her first beauty contract in January to become Lancome’s global ambassador. “It’s fun to find myself with this type of new career at my advanced age!” she writes about the gig, in the issue on newsstands Friday.
While Roberts still wows on her rare red-carpet appearances, her beauty team reveals that it never takes more than two hours to get her ready ? even for the Oscars. “There is nothing contrived,” says her longtime hairdresser Serge Normant. “She believes you have to be comfortable ? you have to have a good time.”
Still, she does have a few beauty tricks up her sleeve. According to Genevieve, her makeup artist, Roberts uses a moisturizing tint (no heavy foundation ? ever), followed by a creamy blush. “Her skin is amazing,” says Genevieve. Then comes Roberts’s fave part: eyeliner ? smudged and sexy. “It’s something she can’t live without,” notes Genevieve. Two coats of mascara, followed by a natural sexy lip “not too shiny” and she can put those 20-something starlets to shame.
But, at home, Roberts favors a more relaxed look: makeup-free and often in yoga pants. It’s all part of her easy home life that she’s embraced since marrying cameraman Danny Moder, 41. “She seems to have made peace with everything,” says Pretty Woman director Garry Marshall, a longtime pal. “He is a laid-back guy. Surfing is his big thing. He’s not a driving ambitious husband. They kind of enjoy being with each other without a big circus.” And the kids? “They are very cute and have a great joie de vivre, which Julia always had,” he says.
Even her old pal George Clooney agrees she’s as beautiful inside as out. “There’s a reason why Julia is a timeless beauty, and it has nothing to do with the way she looks,” he says. “It has everything to do with who she is.”

Funny, they never mention the work she had done to her face. ALLEGEDLY. I think she?s had her eyes done at least once, probably twice. They?ve been looking very ?tight? for years. Which is fine, whatever. I know Julia does spend a significant amount of her time just being ?normal? and keeping out of the spotlight, which I respect and admire her for. But don?t play this ?there?s nothing contrived? line. Especially since this is all just promotion for that suckfest-looking Eat, Pray, Love. Ugh.

Coinciding with the release of her new movie, Julia Roberts has been named as the new global ambassador for makeup brand Lancome.
Talking about the new role, the “Pretty Woman” actress told reporters in Paris, “I have to stand up straighter, and wash my face more. Isn’t this every girl’s dream … to be 42, have three kids – two are twins—and be a working mom. Says a lot about Lancome and what it stands for.”
Having already posed for her first ad shoot with famed photographer Mario Testino, Julia’s campaign will be released this summer to coincide with the release of another one of her new flicks, “Eat, Pray, Love”.
Meanwhile, you can catch Julia is the rom-com “Valentine’s Day,” which boasts a star-studded cast and hits theaters around the globe as of today, February 12th.

These days, it?s kind of become a clich to hate on Julia Roberts. She definitely lost some of her luster over the past five years or so, and when she does appear at some event or red carpet, she seems overwhelming and a little crazy. Like, she?s too loud or too drunk or too rude or too obscene or too much of an a–hole. It?s almost enough to make you forget that she was once the biggest movie star in the world. But some people haven?t forgotten, which is why she still gets cast in big movies, and still gets paid huge amounts of money for the ?pleasure?. Valentine?s Day is one of those films - and I have to say this report shocked me. Judging from the trailer for the film, I assumed Julia had a genuine supporting part in a large ensemble cast. Turns out, not so much. She?s in the film for - count them - six minutes. The price tag for six minutes of Julia? $3 million dollars plus 3% of the gross of the film. Are you f-cking kidding me?
By now, it’s too late for our male readers: Your wife or girlfriend has already seen Those Billboards ? the ones blaring the tagline, “From the Director of PRETTY WOMAN comes a day in the life of love,” with the Pretty Woman herself, Julia Roberts, nestled in the right atrium of a giant heart ? and you have been quietly but firmly informed that “Oh-yes-you-will” be sitting through Valentine’s Day.
Vulture would like to give you an out by providing the news that Roberts is only in this giant ensemble piece for roughly six minutes. Surely that will stop the inexorable race to Moviefone, right? But who are we kidding: We ? and Hollywood ? know that such reality checks will not be nearly enough to keep rom-com-philes away.
New Line Cinema paid Roberts $3 million up front against 3 percent of the gross for what is little more than an extended cameo. That comes out to an astonishing $8,333 per second of screen time, or roughly $500,000 a minute. Verbally, it’s a minimum of $11,952 per spoken word.
Yet even that may turn out to be a bargain, considering the Pretty Woman imprimatur: That movie is practically a religious icon to any female who’s ever wept love-lorn into a pint of Ben & Jerry’s while wearing sweatpants, cursing men, and pantomiming other stereotypically estrogen-saturated chestnuts gleaned from years of watching movies much like Valentine’s Day. Eleven years ago, when Roberts and Marshall reteamed for Runaway Bride (albeit with Richard Gere, too), it grossed $309 million worldwide.
Insiders tell us that Roberts agreed to appear in the film as a favor to Marshall, who’d made her a star. After Roberts jumped in, casting the rest of the film was much easier, and Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Garner, Ashton Kutcher, Taylors Lautner and Swift, McSteamy and McDreamy et al signed on quickly. However, with the exception of Jamie Foxx (who we hear is a gross participant along with Marshall and Roberts), her co-stars were paid their usual quote, pro-rated to however many days they filmed. Since most, like Roberts, only worked three days or so, it seemed a fair and painless commitment, and New Line was able to make the film with a cavalcade of celebs for only $50 million. Now get going.

You know what bothers me more? That Gary Marshall, the other actors in the film, and the producers, agents and Hollywood types all thought Julia signing on to the film was some kind of ?signal? that it was okay to sign on. Seriously? Does Julia have that kind of weight in Hollywood to this day? It?s a Gary Marshall romantic comedy, and it?s a week of work. Why wasn?t every agent in Hollywood trying to get their actors onto this film before and regardless of Dame Julia?s agreement to deign us with her screen presence for six whole minutes? Hollywood is run by idiots.

With a big ensemble cast of Valentine?s Day, you knew there were going to be some fashion hits and misses. What?s kind of surprising to me is how few fashion misses there were - which is probably why the few bad fashion choices stuck out so much. First, let me ask all of you - what do you think is appropriate for a female star to wear to the premiere of an ensemble romantic comedy? My choice would be a cute cocktail dress or just some sort of simple, elegant outfit that didn?t pull too much focus. Much like what Julia Roberts is wearing (above). Simple, pretty black dress that looks great but isn?t screaming ?Look at me, I?m the star of this bitch!?
Then, of course, there?s Jessica Biel. Is Jessica the star? No. She?s a small part of a large ensemble. But you would never know that because she decked herself out in a big, dramatic gown like she?s the only star. She looks like she?s going to the Golden Globes (where she wasn?t invited). Over-dressed much? And the dress is fug, in my opinion.
I didn?t really like Jessica Alba?s dress, but at least it was appropriate for the occasion. She looks young and cute, even though the dress is kind of meh.
Jennifer Garner shows how should dress for the premiere of an ensemble rom-com. Gorgeous cocktail dress, simple hair and makeup, understated yet beautiful.
Ugh. Anne Hathaway needs to fire Rachel Zoe as her stylist, for real. I get that Hathaway?s coloring makes it a little harder to find great clothes that work, but this dress isn?t working for me. It looks cheap, in my opinion, and it?s too short.
Bradley Cooper: Bronzer much? I like that his forehead is a completely different color than his neck.
And then we have two of the men in the film who came with their higher-profile significant others. Eric Dane brought his very pregnant wife Rebecca Gayheart, who looks very cute in my opinion.
Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher look good. I kind of think Demi is trying to pull focus, but at least she?s not wearing a damn ball gown, you know? I actually love her dress.

Taking some time for their kids, Julia Roberts and Daniel Moder were spotted tag-teaming their parental duties at different points in the day yesterday (February 2).
In the morning, Daniel was assigned to drop off their three children (Henry, Hazel, and Phinnaeus) at school while Julia and Daniel’s father Mike took care of the pick-up patrol.

Checking her vehicle in with valet, Julia Roberts was spotted at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on Friday (January 29).
The “Valentine’s Day” actress looked rather serious as she worked things out with the valet and concierge while sporting a causal ensemble complete with aviator shades.
Speaking of Valentine’s Day, Julia recently joked with press about her plans with husband Danny Moder for the upcoming February 14th holiday.
“We’re just going to be making out,” Roberts said. “For the full 24 hours.”

Although the “Stepmom” actress has never been a fan of the paparazzi, she managed to crack a small smile while walking along in Malibu, CA.
In other news, as the new Lancme global ambassador Julia says she is looking forward to working with the luxurious beauty brand.
Roberts tells, “I think the nice thing about getting older is it forces you in a way to take a greater interest in your [beauty] regime. And so it’s a good moment for me to join forces with people who can help me,” she said, laughing.

Did you know that Julia Roberts is Lancme?s ?global ambassador?? Yeah, I think I read that a while ago and had forgotten it. How weird is that? I mean, I used to think Julia was really lovely. She?s still a very striking woman, but the past few years something has been off. I think she got her eyes done, and the last time she was on Oprah, she looked like she had just been majorly ?refreshed?. I?m sure that her fans will think I?m a hater or whatever (she does pluck my last nerve, so they have a point), but I?m honestly not trying to be nasty - I honestly think she?s had work done to her face. Which, having that opinion, made me laugh when I read Julia?s statements to Women?s Wear Daily (full article here, and be careful, it?s quite a lot of Julia) about how her beautifying rituals came to ?a screeching halt? when she became a mom:
On becoming Lancome?s global ambassador: ?I think I have to stand up straighter and wash my face more. It?s kind of like every girl?s dream, really. To be 42 and have three kids and be a working mom, it?s a great moment to be asked to do this and to be able to do it. I think it says a lot about Lancme and what they stand for.?
Julia on how this lets her have a ?voice?: ?[Youcef Nabi, Lancome?s president] and I had such an immediate rapport the first time we met,? she said. ?You really want to have a relationship where you don?t just want to be the face of something. You want to participate in it, and you want to have a voice in it. I still have to be myself.?
On sitting next to Paul McCartney at the Globes: As soon as Sir Paul McCartney sat down at the table next to Roberts, her phone began chiming. ?It was so embarrassing,? she said. ?It just started going ?ding, ding.?? Roberts said people sent her messages like, ?OMG I can?t believe you?re sitting next to Paul McCartney.?
On her next starring role, in Eat, Pray, Love: ?It was quite a huge undertaking. It was a little bit daunting, dragging three little kids around the world, but well worth it,? said Roberts, referring to her three children, the oldest of whom are five-year-old twins.
On playing the main character, a woman struggling after her divorce: ?I think that she just showed so much courage and humor. I just felt an incredible sense of need to accomplish the task on a great level. Ryan Murphy, who adapted the screenplay and was our director, was incredible. It was really like the acting Olympics. It?s been a long time since I?ve had a full-time acting job. I am really glad that I made the decision to go off and do that movie. I hope that Liz [Gilbert] really likes it more than anything. She?s a really interesting woman. I?m pretty fascinated by her, and I think a lot of people relate to her. So that?s the greatest challenge [with] a book that?s so well-known: You want people to see the movie and have that same sense of interest and comfort that they got from reading the book.?
On not wanting to meet Eat, Pray, Love?s author Elizabeth Gilbert: ?I didn?t want to be overly influenced. She?s such an incandescent personality. I?ve seen her on television, and I?ve heard her on the radio and so I thought, ?OK, I have to be objective.? I wanted to at least start the movie before I met her. We were a few weeks into filming when I met her and her husband, and she was exactly what I wanted her to be.?
On her other movie, Valentine?s Day: ?This movie is just about people loving each other and missing out and getting it right, and it?s pretty incredible.?
Picking her favorite movie (that she?s acted in): ?[It] is like picking your favorite friend; it?s impossible,? she said. ?There are different reasons to love them. Obviously, ?Pretty Woman? had a profound effect on my life, so I have an incredible affection for that movie. ?Pelican Brief? was another really profound moment for me and my relationship with Alan Pakula is a treasure. ?Erin Brockovich? for obvious reasons and then just my own personal reason is so incredible. I met my husband while making ?The Mexican.??
On how the industry has changed: ?There?s just news and fodder and gossip just sort of churned out every second of the day, so in that regard, it?s gotten a little less interesting,? she said. ?Things aren?t allowed to take their time and to blossom and to happen the way they used to. I think it?s so much harder to really start out now than it was when I started.?
On the perks of working for Lancome: ?I get all these things to play with and test and give my opinion about. And it?s quite exciting without having to invest all of myself in how I look because they did come to me as me, which is a pretty casual mom. But you know, it?s nice to up your game a little bit.?
On her beauty regimen: When asked how having children has changed her beauty regimen, Roberts said, ?It kind of comes to a screeching halt. At a certain point in the future, I?ll pick it back up again. I think the nice thing about getting older is it forces you in a way to take a greater interest in your [beauty] regime. And so it?s a good moment for me to join forces with people who can help me.”

WWD also says that though the official number hasn?t been publicized, Julia is probably getting something like $10-15 million for this contract. So, if you want to look like Julia, buy Lancome. It also made me laugh when Julia described Elizabeth Gilbert as ?an incandescent personality?. I?ve seen Gilbert in interviews (try this video of her giving a speech) and she seems really boring and full of herself. Methinks Julia wants to be seen as an ?incandescent personality? too, especially since she?s playing Gilbert.

Julia looks pretty, doesn?t she? She?s not all glammed up, she?s not wearing much makeup, and she still looks lovely. Anyway, these are photos from the red carpet of a gala fundraiser for the LAByrinth Theater Company. I know about the company because Phillip Seymour Hoffman used to be (and perhaps still is) one of the co-directors of the theatre, which does lots of experimental stuff, and promotes new talent, from directors, writers and actors. Julia was the big headliner, and she gave it her all, if these reports are any indication. Apparently, Julia got sh-tfaced and hilarious as she tried to do Celebrity Charades.
Julia Roberts hit the sauce for a good cause at LAByrinth Theater’s Celebrity Charades fund-raiser, sponsored by Entertainment Weekly.
“She was drinking vodka and tonic beforehand, and was pretty tipsy by the time the event started,” laughs our spy. “None of her teammates could decipher any of her clues. She told the crowd that anyone who bid would get a kiss from her, which was OK because her husband [Danny Moder] was in the first row and the kids were at home. At one point, Sam Rockwell tried to carry her offstage, as he jokingly asked for ‘three bottles of water for Ms. Roberts.’ ”
At another point, she tried to divert the attention of Kristen Wiig, who was on the opposing team, by sneaking up behind her. All in all, says our spy, “She was pretty great. She tried to get her team to guess ‘In the Heat of the Night’ by rolling on the stage floor and pretending to make out with herself.”

The NY Daily News also reports while playing Charades, Julia (with her teammates Sam Rockwell and Billy Crudup) lost one round and she screamed at the audience ?I can’t f?ing lose on this! I usually go to sleep at 8:15! Let’s have fun! I’m wearing tight pants and my kids are asleep!” The NYDN also reports, in a little side note, that Crudup was ?canoodling? with an ?unidentified brunette? in case anyone cares.
I like Julia more when she does sh-t like this. It shows that she?s not stuffy, and she?s still able to throw down and get drunk with the boys. I would have loved to play Charades with her. By the way, how do you get In the Heat of the Night from rolling on the floor?

Continuing to plug away on her new movie, Julia Roberts was hard at work on the set of “Eat, Pray, Love” on Friday (November 6).
Joined by co-star Javier Bardem, the pair looked to be getting down and dirty as they went on a hiking expedition.
Meanwhile, Miss Roberts continues to keep busy in the industry, as she heads up the production company called Red Om.
According to Variety, Red Om “just bought screen rights to the upcoming non-fiction book ‘In the Neighborhood,’ a deal made with India-based Reliance Big Entertainment that stands as the fifth project in development between the two companies.”
“In the Neighborhood” is a story that revolves around author Peter Lovenheim’s “desire to increase a sense of community by asking his neighbors if he could sleep over their houses.”
