| Maggie Gyllenhaal in Dior at 'White House Down' premiere: crazy or cute' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Last night was the NYC premiere of White House Down, which I?m sure will be yet another big hit film for Channing Tatum. Channing, Jamie Foxx and Maggie Gyllenhaal were all at the premiere. Maggie plays a White House staffer (to Jamie Foxx?s president) in the film ? she might even play a Secret Service agent? Anyway, Maggie got a lot of the attention at last night?s premiere because she wore this completely ridiculous Christian Dior dress. You know I sort of like Maggie ? she?s smart and interesting, and sometimes her style is kind of cool. But I think this dress was a big mistake. The super-structured peplum is ridiculous! And it?s made out of, like, a waffle-knit! I also kind of hate the clash of patterns and I think the skirt should be knee-length rather than tea-length.
Have we really discussed Maggie?s pixie cut? She got it several months ago. I have mixed feelings ? I don?t think it?s as flattering and youthful as she thinks it is, but it?s not terrible either. I think it will look cuter when she grows it out a little bit more, but it just seems to be at an awkward stage right now.
I?m also including photos of Channing and Jamie, of course, the real stars of the film. I like Channing?s suit and his goatee. Hot. I think Jamie looks better with facial hair too ? it?s weird seeing him clean-shaven in the film. Jamie also looks like he lost weight for the movie, then bulked up after they were done.
Here?s the extended trailer for White House Down ? is his daughter the same little girl from Moneyball? Oooh, Jason Clarke is in this!

| Maggie Gyllenhaal: 'I used to be judgmental of the way people would parent' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Maggie Gyllenhaal wants you to know that she is not a judgy mother. With this statement comes another admission: she used to a be a judgy childless person, before she gave birth to daughter Ramona nearly six years ago. Maggie gave a new interview to Scholastic Parent & Child where she discussed how women judge each other, specifically how women judge each other regarding child-rearing. We hear a lot about judgy mothers judging other judgy mothers. But Maggie is tapping into something we don?t hear a lot about because childless ? or childfree! ? women won?t admit to it: the fact that non-mothers often look at moms and we judge you and how you?re doing it. Maggie, a former non-mother, now says that she gets it. She gets all of it.
From the outside looking in, Maggie Gyllenhaal thought she could pick a perfect parent out of a crowd.
?I used to be judgmental of the way other people would parent,? the actress, 34, shares in Scholastic Parent & Child?s August/September issue. ?I would look at someone talking on a cell phone while her baby was asleep in a stroller and think, ?How can that mother have her cell phone out???
But shortly after the birth of daughter Ramona in 2006, as a new member of the motherhood club, Gyllenhaal found her perceptions on parenting suddenly shifting.
?Then you actually have a baby and you?re like, ?She?s sleeping; I have 10 minutes; I?ll make three phone calls,? she says. ?I think so much of my judgment ? not only about how people parent, but about people in general ? went away when I became a mom.?
Aside from her newfound approach toward other mothers, Gyllenhaal ? who in addition to Ramona, 5, is also mom to daughter Gloria Ray, 4 months, with husband Peter Sarsgaard ? also came to a realization regarding her own parenting powers.
?I was 28 when Ramona was born, and I had this idea that I think a lot of people in their twenties have, that I was supposed to do it perfectly. At least, if not perfectly, then exceptionally well,? she admits. ?I?ve realized that that isn?t possible and that part of being a human is making mistakes ? and making lots of them.?
And while Gyllenhaal understands ?the element of parenting where you have to be a mom and say no,? she is thoroughly enjoying her blossoming relationship with her mini-me, Ramona.
?The fun part is being with this little person and learning about the world and listening to her questions,? she explains. ?She comes and runs errands with me and we make it fun. When we talk, she talks like a person. She knows the words that she needs. She?ll ask me if she doesn?t. I like that.?
An advocate for a strong education ? it?s ?one of the most important gifts you can give your kids,? she states ? the Won?t Back Down star is looking forward to her daughters? intellectual futures ? with one exception!
?Besides literature, I liked history. I had trouble with math, though,? Gyllenhaal admits. ?I kind of faked my way through it. I don?t know how I?m going to help my daughters with it when the time comes.?
[From People]
I judge Maggie?s weak-ass judgment! She was sitting around, judging moms who got on their cell phones? That?s it? Girl, I judge more than that before I?ve even had my breakfast.
Anyway, I?ve always kind of liked Maggie, but my affection for her grew after I saw her episode of PBS?s Finding Your Roots, in which her fascinating genealogical background was revealed (Russian Jews and Swedish royalty!). Plus, I personally like that she?s such a vocal and informed supporter of women?s reproductive rights in general and Planned Parenthood specifically. She doesn?t try to hide the fact that she?s a politically liberal New Yorker. Something tells me she still judges people.

| Maggie Gyllenhaal welcomed her second daughter, Gloria Ray Sarsgaard | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Yay, Maggie Gyllenhaal is a mom again! Maggie and her creepy/hot husband Peter Sarsgaard welcomed another little girl into their family. Maggie gave birth to daughter Gloria Ray on April 19 – and they?re just announcing it now! Because Maggie and Peter want to make sure that everyone knows they?re not shilling their baby out for publicity?s sake (not like anyone was asking, but sure). Gloria Ray joins big sister Ramona, 5.
Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard became the proud parents of their second baby girl, a rep for Gyllenhaal confirms to Us Weekly exclusively. Born April 19 in New York, the parents named their newborn Gloria Ray.
The Hysteria actress, 34, and the Lovelace actor, 41, are already parents to daughter Ramona, 5. Together since 2002, the couple tied the knot at a small chapel in Brindisi, Italy on May 2, 2009.
Since first becoming a mother in 2006, Gyllenhaal has struggled to balance her personal and professional life. “I had been so focused on Ramona — and she’s been everything to me — but I’m also an actress,” she told Us in January 2010. “It’s not possible to do it perfectly.”
Gyllenhaal waited until her second trimester to announce her most recent pregnancy.
“I find it difficult to pretend you’re not pregnant, which I had to do,” the Crazy Heart star told USA Today in March. “I didn’t let anyone know until three and a half months this time. I went to film festivals. I’m throwing up in the bathroom and having to keep pretzels in my purse, and having to fit into dresses.”
Sarsgaard, meanwhile, had another set of concerns — the biggest being how to prepare Ramona for sisterhood. “I’ve seen kids with siblings — I don’t have any siblings, so I don’t know — but they generally go for about five minutes, ‘Oh, cool! Anyway, what are we going to do now? Can we return it?’” he told reporters in February. “I think it gets boring quickly, at first, and it takes a while for them to bond.”
[From Us Weekly]
Ha, Peter?s got the right idea. Everyone?s always like, ?Oh, so-and-so will love being a big brother!? Not always! Sibling rivalry is real. But two little girls, five years apart? They probably won?t have many problems, the age gap is big enough that Ramona will be okay with relinquishing her ?only child? status.
Incidentally, did anyone watch Maggie on PBS?s Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates Jr.? I love genealogy shows, and Finding Your Roots is far superior to NBC?s Who Do You Think You Are? One of the best features of Finding Your Roots is that Gates gets his guests to take DNA tests and he shows them what they are genetically, like 40% European or 20% Asian or whatever. Robert Downey Jr. was convinced that he was part African, and he ended being almost all white European. He was so disappointed! Anyway, Maggie was on and her genealogy is crazy-awesome. On her father?s side, she?s descended from Swedish royalty and nobility, by way of an insular Swedish mystical cult in Pennsylvania. On her mother?s side, she comes from Russian Jews – a long line of very intellectual, very strong Russian women doing amazing work in male-dominated fields. Maggie?s was a really good episode!

I called Maggie Gyllenhaal?s pregnancy back in October of last year, and then in November, Maggie’s rep confirmed the happy news to Us Weekly. It became pretty clear that Maggie and her husband, Peter Sarsgaard, were expecting their second child, but Maggie didn?t confirm it herself until just this very moment. She and Peter are expecting another girl, who will join big sister Ramona, who is 5 years old.
And it’s another girl for Maggie Gyllenhaal. The actress is expecting a second daughter later this year. She’ll join big sister Ramona, 5.
“I’m so pregnant,” says Gyllenhaal, 34, while promoting her May release Hysteria. “This is a great, loose, black outfit — I had to take my shoes off.”
Gyllenhaal attended various premieres while secretly expecting her second child, not an easy feat for her.
“I find it difficult to pretend you’re not pregnant, which I had to do. I didn’t let anyone know until three and a half months this time. I went to film festivals. I’m throwing up in the bathroom and having to keep pretzels in my purse, and having to fit into dresses,” she says.
Gyllenhaal and hubby Peter Sarsgaard don’t plan on selling any baby photos, and Gyllenhaal won’t reveal her due date to preserve her privacy and not tip off the press.
[From USA Today]
Well, she didn?t really ?hide? anything successfully, considering her red carpet photos in October had me and several other sites calling ?bump!?. Her boobs looked bigger, and she had a little bump, and she was a little bit fuller in the face. Still, no woman should have to publicly declare her pregnancy before she?s ready. And while I respect the whole ?we?re not going to sell the baby photos? thing, I have to ask: would there really be that much interest? I?m interested in Maggie Gyllenhaal, sure. Because I like her and I think she?s a cool lady. But I don?t see People Magazine or Us Weekly?s editors sitting around, wondering if Maggie?s baby photos are worth $100,000.
God, I love Peter Sarsgaard. He?s The Sex. He and Maggie seem tight too, which is nice.

Tending to parental duties, expectant momma Maggie Gyllenhaal showed off her growing midsection while walking daughter Ramona home from her New York City school yesterday (November 28).
Looking cute and casual for the afternoon pick-up, the "Dark Knight" actress dressed in a blue sweater, bump-hugging striped top and black jeans, while five-year-old Ramona skipped down the sidewalk in a white and black top, green skirt and white tights.
Maggie's Monday outing offered up a glimpse at the star's belly, as she and hubby Peter Sarsgaard had just confirmed the pregnancy through their rep hours before.
Gyllanhaal, who reportedly told family including brother Jake over the Thanksgiving holiday, is said to be around four months along.

This is the opposite of shocking, but it?s still a nice story – Maggie Gyllenhaal is knocked up again! Life & Style ?confirms? (but not really) that Maggie and her husband Peter Sargaard are expecting their second child. Maggie and Peter are parents to five-year-old Ramona? damn, is that kid already 5? It feels like Maggie was just pregnant with Ramona a few years ago. Anyway, we totally called this when we were talking about Maggie?s sketchy style at the Rome Film Festival – she had an obvious baby bump in late October. My guess is that she?s already well into her second trimester.
Maggie Gyllenhaal had a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! Life & Style can exclusively reveal that the 33-year-old actress and her husband, Peter Sarsgaard, are expecting their second child together.
?Over Thanksgiving weekend, Maggie was telling friends that she?s six months pregnant,? a friend of the actress tells Life & Style. ?Her bump is so big!?
Rumors about a pregnancy began when Maggie turned up at the Rome Film Festival premiere of her latest movie, Hysteria, on Oct. 28 with what appeared to be a little baby bump. While the actress hasn?t publicly confirmed her second child, the friend tells Life & Style that Maggie is over the moon.
?She?s thrilled to be pregnant! She and Peter have wanted another child for a while,? says the friend. ?They?re very happy that they?ll have another baby in the house soon.?
Maggie’s little brother, Jake Gyllenhaal, is said to be ecstatic about the news, too!
?Jake is so happy that she?s pregnant again because he loves kids,? says the friend. ?Maggie?s said that he?s the best uncle and has done a lot of sweet things for her first child.?
Maggie and Peter are already parents to 5-year-old daughter Ramona but haven?t revealed the sex of their soon-to-be bundle of joy. Regardless, Maggie?s very excited and couldn?t wait to spill the news to her family and friends.Though Maggie has been in a relationship with her actor hubby since 2002, the couple didn?t marry until 2009, after the birth of their first child. The pair currently live in Brooklyn, N.Y.
[From Life & Style]
Maggie and Peter are pretty much settled in NYC, right? And Jake lives in NYC most of the time too, and I buy that Maggie and Jake are genuinely close and that Jake relishes being a doting uncle. Congrats to the whole family! I?ve always thought Peter was so hot – but I always like the ones with crazy eyes.

| Maggie Gyllenhaal in Rome: busted, unflattering or lovely? | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos of Maggie Gyllenhaal at the Rome Film Festival, where she?s promoting Hysteria. The Hysteria photo call pics are where she?s wearing that hideous black and turquoise Dries van Noten sheet dress, and the premiere photos are where she?s looking matronly in a cream gown. If I have to choose, I guess I?d pick the matronly look, but just barely. She?s aged herself terribly with that hairstyle and makeup? that being said, the hair and makeup look good (for a 40-something lady). But the real problem with the cream gown is that it makes her boobs look saggy, and it just doesn?t flatter body. She needs more support for her girls, and maybe something more structured overall.
Hysteria is Maggie?s film about the invention of the vibrator. Because ladies used to be diagnosed with ?hysteria? when really they just needed a good orgasm. Previously, when discussing the film, Maggie said, ?By the time I finished the movie I’d been sent 15 vibrators by different people in London with vibrator stores. It was a pleasant surprise. So I have this incredible collection, and I actually use one or two of them. I lend them to my friends, and they’ll take them for six months at a time.? Yes, she lends out vibrators. Whatever happened to, ?Here, I?m gifting you this vibrator. No, I don?t want it back????
PS? it just occurred to me as I was looking through the photos again? do you think Maggie is knocked up? She has a little bit of a bump happening?or is the white dress just THAT unflattering?

Maggie Gyllenhaal stars in Hysteria, a film about the two London doctors who invented the first electric vibrator which was intended to cure women suffering from hysteria, a condition I assume happens monthly and is accompanied by bleeding. As a result, Maggie was sent a bunch of vibrators from sex shops which she used to start a vibrator exchange group.
“By the time I finished the movie I’d been sent maybe 15 vibrators by different people in London with vibrator stores. It was a pleasant surprise. So I have this incredible collection, and I actually use like one or two of them. I lend them to my friends, and they?ll take them for six months at a time. [While shooting Hysteria] I was sent a lot of vibrators from different sex stores in England while we were shooting the movie. I shared them around.” — Gothamist
I can’t decide whether this is hot or gross. On one hand, this gets real close to girl on girl. On the other, apart from sanitary concerns, this is Maggie Gyllenhaal we’re talking about. She’s so plain. I bet her vibrators go “uggggh” and almost die of boredom when they’re inside her.

Taking center stage at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival, ?Hysteria? held its premiere earlier tonight (September 15).
Famous faces like Maggie Gyllenhaal, Hugh Dancy, Tanya Wexler, and Jonathan Pryce all showed up at the Roy Thomson Hall for the big event.
According to an official release, ?Hysteria tells the true story of how, aided by a goofy pal with a fascination for gadgets and electricity (Rupert Everett), young Granville came to invent the first vibrator. Key to this was his association with Dalrymple?s very different daughters: the well-spoken Emily (Felicity Jones) and the outspoken Charlotte (Maggie Gyllenhaal). The result inadvertently contributed to women?s sexual independence and the coming women?s movement.?
And though there are several international released dates around the globe, there?s no word when the flick will hit US theaters.
