While she's currently back home in the States, Heidi Montag spent the past few weeks living it up in the country of Costa Rica.
During her Central American getaway, the former "Hills" star fit in plenty of relaxation while also trying out a few new activities including surfing.
Just days before heading back to California, the blonde beauty was spotted by paparazzi in a stunning tie-dyed bikini with a starfish ornament in the middle.
Wading in the warm waters, Miss Montag had her fair share of difficulties - as she wasn't able to make it up on the surfboard before calling it quits.
The following day, Montag donned a two-toned bikini as she went for a swim, during which time she nearly lost her top.
As for her venture back to Los Angeles, Heidi's estranged husband Spencer Pratt left the locale at the same time - during which he was deported for felony possession of a firearm, earning himself a lifetime ban from returning to Costa Rica in the future.

Stilling living the island life, Heidi Montag continued her stay in the tropical locale of Costa Rica on Tuesday (September 8).
The bikini-clad former MTV reality star sipped on a drink while taking a dip in the pool at her villa as one of her dogs joined in on the waterbound action.
Tweeting to her million plus followers during the trip, Heidi most recently wrote, "taking a hot bath to relax my jaw muscles. They are lock up and it is hard to talk. I have been too tense."
As previously reported by GossipCenter, Miss Montag has been in seclusion since she allegedly filed for divorce from estranged husband Spencer Pratt - who then announced plans to sell her sex tape to Vivid Entertainment.

It’s hard to believe that anything we hear from Heidi and Spencer is legitimate. Their whole relationship seemed manufactured for publicity, as did Heidi’s plastic surgery, Spencer’s breakdown, and their breakup/divorce. Right before the weekend we heard that Spencer was shopping sex tapes featuring himself and Heidi as well as another featuring Heidi and Playmate Karissa Shannon. Porn giant Vivid confirmed the news and said that it was all up to Heidi whether or not they would release it. Heidi denied that any sex tapes existed, although Shannon admitted there was one with her and Heidi. Heidi and Spencer then cursed each other out through Twitter.
Now these two have been spotted together in Costa Rica, where Heidi is said to have gone to escape the sex tape rumors. They quickly scattered when the paparazzi came around and tried to make it look like they weren’t together. Spencer and Heidi offered some lame excuse to People Magazine about how they had to share custody of their dogs and how Spencer didn’t have anywhere to live. There are several scenarios that came to mind when I heard this news, but the ones that stick out are:
1. Heidi and Spencer are conspiring to release the sex tapes together and were busted together in Costa Rica
2. Heidi and Spencer are conspiring to release the tapes and also conspired to get themselves photographed to add to the suspense and get people talking about it. (If they did it this way, I have to admit it was pretty clever.)
3. Heidi was initially opposed to releasing the tapes, but gradually came around when she realized how much money was on the table.
There are surely other options, but that’s all I can come up with at this point. It seems like one of those scenarios is accurate, because the head of Vivid headed to Costa Rica to work out a deal with Heidi.
Heidi Montag is privately acknowledging the existence of her sex tape … TMZ has learned — and sources close to the former “Hills” star tell us she’s finally willing to talk business.
We’re told Heidi has agreed to listen to Vivid Entertainment honcho Steve Hirsch when he arrives in Costa Rica to make an offer on the footage … some of which is said to contain girl-on-girl action with Playboy Playmate Karissa Shannon.
We’re told Heidi wants Hirsch to provide her with the sales numbers on Kim Kardashian’s sex tape — which was also released through Vivid — because Heidi may be interested in working out a “back-end deal” if Steve can’t offer enough cash up front to satisfy Montag.
Hirsch told us he’s leaving for Costa Rica sometime next week.

There are also several scenarios for their relationship, as in - they broke up for publicity, they did break up legitimately but are off and on, or they broke it off and are still friends. I don’t really care what’s going on with them, but I’m still curious. These two are experts at playing the media and I wouldn’t put it past them to stage this whole divorce and sex tape controversy for publicity and cash. They’re also pretty shallow dumb people and I doubt they could fake Spencer’s craziness, Heidi’s body dysmorphia and their relationship problems, whether they’re still together or not. They’re messed up people making money off selling their lives. It’s not that much of a stretch to believe that Heidi was in on this sex tape scheme from the beginning.

More drama on the Speidi pretend divorce front — Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are both accusing each other of having affairs. Radar Online says
Heidi is staying at the Malibu home of Cougar Zank, a Marine turned bodyguard who had become close friends with Spencer [while] working on a script together.
That made Spencer’s hair stand on end.
He considered Cougar HIS friend, and he’s convinced himself the only reason Cougar would have sided with Heidi in the split is that “he wanted her for himself.”
A source revealed that Heidi is just back from New York City and that Cougar accompanied her on the trip.
And then her claims:
One of Heidi’s major concerns is that Spencer has been seeing another woman since their split in May.
“She is very anxious to find out if her suspicions and the rumors are true, especially if he’s spent any money on another woman. Heidi has hired a private investigator to look into it,” the source reveals.
And you didn’t think the two of them could stoop any lower. Well, think again. They’ve made selling their soul their primary means of income, a feat only previously mastered by the French and Aerosmith. There’s probably a whole circle of hell reserved just for them and The Wiggles.

They?ve been having some serious marital problems, and now Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have accused each other of having extramarital affairs.
The ?Hills? costars/real-life spouses are reaching a whole new depth of destruction, with Heidi going so far as to hire a private investigator to tail her hubby.
A gal pal revealed, "Heidi has hired a former member of the sheriff department, who now works as a private investigator, to look into it. It is really important to Heidi to find out if Spencer has been cheating on her."
Meanwhile, Spencer is freaking out that Heidi has recently moved into his friend Cougar Zank?s Malibu home.
An insider told press, "They are definitely friends, and I don't know if there is anything more to it than that, but Spencer believes there is. He's certain there is."
