Standing out, even on the streets of New York City, Katharine McPhee headed to the set of "Smash" on Wednesday (January 30).
The 28-year-old singer/actress sported a flapper-style dress, a long turquoise coat, and dark lipstick as she strutted her stuff in the busy Big Apple.
Absent from her side was her little Chihuahua (either Larry or Nena) who frequently accompany her to the NBC set.
Speaking to People about her furry friends, Katharine shares, "They are very polite on set and everyone loves them. Larry is affectionate and needy and Nena is just as chill as they come. But both are very sweet."

With a heavy winter coat over her costume, Katharine McPhee headed to the set of "Smash" in New York City on Wednesday (January 9).
The former "American Idol" contestant looked cute in a white polka-dotted top and short red skirt with her brown Ugg boots and winter coat.
Recently, the 28-year-old star launched a brand new personal website, katharinemcphee.com, featuring her Tumblr photos, news on her hit series, and all things Katharine.
Though they may be a little biased, Ms. McPhee posted a photo of her two dogs sitting in front of her laptop with the site up, captioned, "Happy New Year everybody! Have you checked out my new website? Even Larry and Nena are obsessed!"

It's business as usual for Katharine McPhee, who was spotted on the set of her hit TV Show "Smash" earlier this week.
The former "American Idol" contestant ran through lines with another cast mate and got her make-up touched up while wearing a blue denim shirt, black pants, and black open-toed heels.
After finding success on the NBC musical drama, Hollywood is the brunette beauty's next conquest. The 28-year-old will star in an upcoming rom-com titled "You May Not Kiss the Bride."
In the film, she'll play a Croatian mobsters daughter alongside Rob Schneider and Mena Suvari. The movie is scheduled for release on Sept 21, 2012.

Offering up her best take on the iconic figure, Katharine McPhee channeled Marilyn Monroe on the set of "Smash" on Thursday (March 8).
The 27-year-old rocked the sex symbol's penchant platinum blonde locks while strolling the streets of New York City with a canine companion in tow.
The sighting comes as fans can look forward to seeing Katharine and her co-stars in an all-new episode of "Smash" titled "Chemistry" airing on Monday, March 12th at 10/9c on NBC.
With a sneak peek available below, a synopsis of the series' latest installment reads: "Ivy faces major problems as her voice begins to fail her. Julia struggles to avoid Michael - but she can't. Eileen explores her inner hipster at a downtown dive bar with her new pal Ellis, while Karen is an even bigger fish out of water, as she books a side gig at a bar mitzvah on Long Island."

Katharine McPhee is in the March issue of GQ which comes out later this month. She’s promoting her new series Smash, another show about people randomly breaking into song, which isn’t the biggest man aphrodisiac (manphrodisiac?) so GQ asked her to come up with three things that would persuade men to watch it.
Reason #1: Your lady does it for you. Now do it for her. “Listen,” McPhee says, “I go see all the guy movies, so now I know I love them. But you have to be open to it. I would say to the girlfriends out there: Just nail him down, make him watch an episode with you.”
Reason #2: It’s not like they’re singing constantly. “I can understand why guys wouldn’t be into Glee. You know, that’s a pretty heavy musical show. That show does, like, six songs in an episode. We’ll do, at most, three.”
Reason #3: “Okay, how about this: What if I tell your readers that in episode five I take off all my clothes?” Sold! But hold on?would it be true? “I mean…no.” McPhee laughs mischievously. “But can’t we just say that?”
If those were McPhee’s most convincing arguments, then that’s just sad. Here are three counterpoints.
Counter #1: Guy movies are inherently better than chick flicks. For example, watching Brad Pitt punching dudes in Fight Clubis universally loved whereas watching a Katherine Heigl romcom where she squeals at a man only appeals to women with an interest in cats andcrocheting.
Counter #2: Whittling it down to three songs per episode is too much. If the show exceeds the singing quotient of 0, then it’s not happening.
Counter #3: No one likes a tease.
