Here are some photos of Gwyneth Paltrow on Friday in NYC, at an event for her business partner and friend (BFF?) Tracy Anderson. Tracy was launching ?The Pregnancy Project? which is just a fancy, mommy-friendly name for ?Tracy was shilling her DVD workout system to fat, postpartum women who Tracy will mock in interviews.? In addition to Goop, there were several other notables at the event ? Christy Turlington (I can?t believe Christy is climbing on to Tracy?s bandwagon) and Molly Sims. But Goop was definitely THE STAR (the Head Goop!) of the event, of course. While she was on the red carpet, she talked about how she just turned 40 years old:
Gwyneth Paltrow is happily over the hill. The Academy Award winner (and mom to daughter Apple, 8, and son Moses, 6, with husband Chris Martin, 35) celebrated her 40th birthday September 27. At pal Tracy Anderson’s Pregnancy Project event supporting Every Mother Counts in New York City October 5, the Iron Man 3 actress spoke about what the milestone birthday means to her.
“I was really worried about it, leading up to the day, but now I feel really happy and content with my life,” Paltrow told reporters. “I’m excited to move into the next phase. It’s much more exciting than I thought it would be.”
Paltrow doesn’t predict much will change now that she’s entered a new decade.
“I think I try to promote self-growth and reflection for myself every day,” she explained.
Despite her luxe lifestyle, Paltrow — whose BFFs include Cameron Diaz, 40, and Beyonce Knowles, 31 — said she’s just like any other mom. “We have a scrimmage soccer game in our yard every day after school. It’s so fun,” she said. Though Moses prefers soccer, “Apple has been really loving gymnastics,” the star said.
Regardless of the activity, Paltrow is glad her children are being actively challenged on a daily basis. “I feel that mental happiness and physical happiness are so closely related, and especially for kids, because they have so much energy.”
[From Us Weekly]
Hahaha, Gwyneth Paltrow is the same age as Sofia Vergara. Except Sofia is a bit more honest about how she feels about turning 40. According to Sofia, ?Turning 40 is horrible. People that say it isn?t are full of sh-t.? Which do you prefer? Sofia?s brutal honesty or Gwyneth?s incessant Goopiness, her subtext of ?Forty years of being a narcissistic elitist, huzzah! Oooh, I stepped on a peasant.”
After the Pregnancy Project event, Gwyneth was just super-exhausted with all of the peasant-y shilling, so she got to celebrate her birthday again, this time with a dinner party in Manhattan?s Elio?s, an Italian joint. Guests included Beyonce, Steven Spielberg, Kate Capshaw, Blythe Danner, Jessica Seinfeld, Chelsea Handler, Kristen Wiig, Ethan Hawke, Jake Gyllenhaal, Christy Turlington, The Beastie Boys’ Mike D, Cameron Diaz and Chris Martin.
Who amongst them would be capable of telling Goop that she should start taking better care of her skin? Who amongst them will tell her to stop f?king flat-ironing her hair?

Gwyneth Paltrow officially turned 40 years old over the weekend, but unlike us peasants, Goop would have us know that she looks better now than she did when she was 24. Goop also celebrated her birthday in grand style by taking a boat ride because if it’s good enough for Beyonce, it’s good enough for Goop. She and the family (including Chris Martin, who is not pictured here, but you can see him glaring at the camera over at the Mail) took a lovely trip to Italy where they spent an enchanting day and evening on the luminous waters of Portofino. It was truly a delightful adventure that can only be topped by an invigorating run around one’s own wood-burning oven in the garden at home. But everything is more illuminating on holiday, right?
In these photos, I cannot help but notice the lady in the striped shirt, who seems to be an assistant of some sorts. Does Goop even speak to her? I would hope so.
In other Goop news, Gwyneth has offered up her latest addition to the “Goop Collection” of luxury items for the peasants. Here is the $225 “Goop clutch” designed by Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow. The clutch is made of dark brown and turquoise leather and “complemented by a brushed gold trim that claps shut with a jaguar head.” If you told me a decade ago that Gwyneth and Nicole would be working together, I’d have laughed my ass off. Obviously, this clutch is overpriced (and rather ugly too), but that silly $270 acrylic tray is sold out, so this will probably sell like hotcakes too. Seriously, who buys this crap?
Mostly, I think this party was about Goop getting drunk on a boat because, let’s face it, getting drunk on land is so peasanty.

| Gwyneth Paltrow offering $515 Goop sweaters: is Gwyneth out of touch? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Gwyneth Paltrow wants to sell you more Goop crap! You know how Gwyneth took off, like, four months from her exhausting once-a-week Goop newsletter earlier this year, then she came back with a newly designed (not really) site? And on this new site, you can now buy GOOP. You can buy items with Goop labels but only if you are a thin, rich peasant with impeccable taste. You must be willing to shell out $200 for a pair of Goop jeans (that only go up to size eight) or $90 for a Goop t-shirt (a white tee with black piping ? so dumb).
Well, Goop has something new she wants you to buy: SWEATERS! Specifically, a $515 sweater and a $485 sweater. They?re cashmere, obviously, and you?re paying for the ?Chinti & Parker exclusively for goop? label mostly. What is fascinating to me is that Gwyneth is actually offering the sweaters in size (GASP) large!! She?s offering Extra-small through Large. I would imagine that if you ordered a large, you would get a personal note from Gwyneth: ?Dear Fatty, Here is your beautiful, expensive sweater. I almost didn?t send it to you because I?m so disappointed in how not-thin you are. I hope you enjoy this sweater. Please try not to spill food on it, although I know that will be hard because you?re so fat and you obviously have no willpower. Love, Goop.?
So? does Goop putting her name on $515 cashmere sweaters (with f?king hearts and patches on them, WTF?) mean that she?s more of out of touch than we thought? Or is this business as usual in the land of Goop? Here’s the thing: I understand that Chinti & Parker sweaters normally go for that price… but that’s the point, right? Goop could have done a collaboration with a company that sells less expensive clothing (“Gap for Goop”?), or she could have done a collaboration with a luxury company for a more accessible item to sell on Goop (like “Jason Wu for Target” or something). Quite honestly, I don’t think Gwyneth realizes that these sweaters ARE expensive. She has no frame of reference for how the peasants really live.

If you needed to describe Gwyneth Paltrow in only one word, it would be “insufferable.” Now it turns out it can also be “weepy.” In an interview with InStyle (via Radar), Gwyneth says she cries constantly.
?You can call my shrink on that one,? she candidly responds to a question about why she works so hard. ?The positive thing that drives me is a curiosity and momentum. The negative is a need to validate myself or feel special. Like a childhood need to differentiate myself or??
Gwyneth, who also talks about her postpartum depression in the interview conducted by her fashion designer pal Diane von Furstenberg, continues her sob story.
?I cry all the time,? she admits. ?I cried half an hour ago. I?m a crybaby!
When asked if she cried out of happiness or frustration, she candidly responds on the darker side.
?Maybe out of sadness or uncertainty. Do you feel bad for me now??
She must be a joy to live with. No wonder Chris Martin is by her side all the time.

| Gwyneth Paltrow turns 40 years old next week: 'I?m trying to accept myself' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Another day, another quote-dump from Goop. To be fair to her, it?s not like this is a completely new interview. We covered the first excerpts from Gwyneth Paltrow?s InStyle cover interview yesterday ? go here to see. Goop discussed how she only allowed her kids to watch TV when it was in Spanish or French, and Goop talked about how her marriage was ?challenging? because Chris needs an environment with ?gravitas? or some such BS. So these are just more quotes from the InStyle piece, and there are some Goopy gems in here too:
Gwyneth turns 40 years old next week: ?I?m taking stock and really looking at everything. I?m trying to accept myself. There?s a Rumi poem, ?The Guest House,? about welcoming in all aspects of yourself: The dark, the light, the jealous, the happy. Let them all in. But know that you?re not defined by any single one of them. I?ve become much more serious after experiencing all the ups and downs of life?heartbreak, the death of people I love? These days I feel pretty grounded.?
Why she ?works so hard? (LOL): ?I?m hard on myself, so I?m working on shifting perspective toward self-acceptance, with all my flaws and weaknesses. The positive thing that drives me is a curiosity and momentum. The negative is a need to validate myself or feel special.?
On her kids: ?When Apple was born, she had the hugest blue eyes. I looked into them, and she was looking at me, and I felt like, You are here to teach me everything. After [Moses] was born I had postpartum depression. It was a difficult time, and because of that I believe I have an extra empathy for him, and he for me.?
Goop readers are better than the average peasant: ?Goop readers trust my taste and know that I know where to find cool stuff. A city guide is a fast and fun way for them to have access to where I actually eat, shop, get a manicure, and hang out.?
Her common interests with Chris Martin: “We laugh a lot, and at the same jokes,” says Paltrow. “We like the same music and we like to do the same things.”
Having more kids? “My brain says, ‘Oh, I think I’m done, the kids are so big now, and I don’t want to go back to changing diapers.? But a part of me would love to have another. Of course, I’m old now!”
[Via InStyle and People]
Does anyone else notice that, as always, it?s all about Gwyneth? I mean that even when she?s discussing her children, she?s only talking about herself. When she discusses her Goop readers, it?s all about Gwyneth. I mean, obviously, this is an interview WITH Goop so it?s understandable. But it just feels like everything is about HER experiences, her journey, her rules, her diet, her birthday and no one else?s.
In another interview ? done on a TV show, I think ? Goop was recently asked if she would ever consider plastic surgery. Goop said, “I want to move my face because I’m supposed to convey emotion in my job. But I have wrinkles so I don’t know – I’m not going to say that I’ll never do anything, but I would always want to look like myself.” Considering CB and I felt like Gwyneth was hittin? the Botox back in 2010-11, I think she?s being disingenuous. But I believe that she isn?t getting any nips or tucks. I think she just tried Botox for a little while, maybe some fillers too. Oh, and I think she might have gotten a boob job too. So, yeah. Other than that stuff, all natural, right?

I know Gwyneth Paltrow has some defenders, but every time this woman opens her mouth, I just can?t help but find her insufferable. If she?s not deigning to tell the peasants how to live, she?s saying idiotic things like ?I?d rather smoke crack than eat cheese from a can? or telling a fatty just how disappointed she is that they don?t met her skinny standards. The kicker, I think, is that Gwyneth seems to think she?s a world-class ?foodie? AND that she?s all about health. To which I say: it?s not healthy to detox as much as she does. Gwyneth seems to be ?on a detox? every other month, and Gwyneth has admitted that her dieting and detoxing has left her physically weak and vitamin-deficient. What?s my point? Goop is full of it. She?s not the grand lifestyle/food/fashion expert that she thinks she is.
So what?s Goop?s latest BS? She only allows her kids to watch television in French or Spanish. Ugh, Goop. For the love of?
It’s no secret that Gwyneth Paltrow flies the flag for healthy living. But it seems her outlook on life has gone a little far as she projects strict parenting on her children. The Talented Mr Ripley actress has revealed that she only allows eight-year-old daughter Apple, and son Moses, six, to watch television in French or Spanish instead of their native English.
Speaking to InStyle magazine, the mother-of-two said Apple was ‘cross’ as ‘I only let them watch TV in French or Spanish’.
She added: ‘When I’m in France, I go to [Boulevard] Beaumarchais and buy all their cartoons.’
The 39-year-old also spoke about her own draconian diet, and while she has eased the macrobiotic lifestyle, she still considers a cheese-topped French stick and glass of wine to be ‘indulging’.
Gwyneth said: ‘I was very strict for a while, I was macrobiotic for a couple of years, then I got pregnant and just ate ice cream. What I’ve learned is that I want to enjoy my life, and food is a big part of it. I love to cook and feed people. I cook every day. My indulging is a fresh baguette with cheese and a glass of red wine or french fries and fried zucchini. Or a turkey burger.’
During the interview, which was conducted by designer Diane von Furstenberg, the Oscar-winner also touched on her marriage to Chris Martin and hinted why it is still going strong after nine years. She credited their friendship as the ‘easiest’ thing between them, saying they laugh a lot and share the same taste in music, before bravely discussing the hardships too.
Highlighting their differences, Gwyneth said: ‘Probably our artistic temperaments. Artists are sensitive; there are ups and downs mood-wise. Musicians need a certain gravitas and focus in order to write. The temperament that goes with someone who is creative can be challenging.’
She added: ‘I focus more on understanding than being understood.’
And it seems Gwyneth may even let off a little steam in the therapist’s office, as when the blonde was asked why she continues to work so hard having already achieved such a high level of success, it was unclear if she was joking when she quipped: ‘You can call my shrink on that one.’
She continued: ‘The positive thing… is curiosity and momentum. The negative is a need to validate myself or feel special.’
[From The Mail]
For the TV-only-in-French or Spanish thing? I mean, I understand what she?s trying to do. I?ve read those studies too ? kids? brains are like sponges, and it?s much easier for a child to pick up another language than it would be for the average adult. But instead of sounding like a pro-education advocate, Goop just sounds holier-than-thou, like she despises your peasant children who watch TV in (gasp!) English. I would love to force Goop to watch a few hours of Honey Boo Boo. I think her body would simply reject the experience.
As for the quotes about her marriage? weird. ?Musicians need a certain gravitas and focus in order to write. The temperament that goes with someone who is creative can be challenging.? It feels like she?s misusing the word ?gravitas? but maybe that?s just me. I also think this quote is particularly interesting: ?I focus more on understanding than being understood.? It makes me think the marriage is all about HIM. His moods, his temperament, understanding HIM, his gravitas (?).
In other Goop news, she was named by People Magazine as their ?Best Dressed Woman? of 2012. Goop deigned to allow her stylist (!) to speak to People about what amazing style Goop has. While I like some of Goop?s styles, I do think her consistently bad makeup-application and her constant insistence on flat-ironing her too-blonde hair should be reason enough to exclude her from any fashion lists. You can read the People interview with Goop?s stylist here.
Last thing ? Goop was just named the newest face of Max Factor. Kind of downmarket and peasanty for Goop, right? She used to represent Estee Lauder several years ago. Interesting that she got another beauty contract.

Having just debuted her new movie "Thanks for Sharing" at the Toronto International Film Festival, Gwyneth Paltrow picked up a little overseas exposure via a feature in the October 2012 issue of InStyle UK magazine.
The 39-year-old Oscar-winning actress spoke with the European publication about a full slate of topics including her beauty icons, skin secrets and love of food.
Highlights from Miss Paltrow's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to InStyle UK!
On what she does as far as R&R is concerned:
"I never have time to go to a spa, but I love a hot bath with Epsom salts in the evenings. I prefer old fashioned vinegars to essential oils or bubbles."
On her skin secrets:
"Genetics play a part, but sweating it out every day is detoxing. I also drink a lot of water, take Omega oils and keep my word regime simple - a cleanser, face oils and Embryolisse moisturizer."
On her beauty icons:
"Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy always looked gorgeous and whenever I see Cate Blanchett on a red carpet, I think she looks amazing."
On her perfume pick:
"Boss Nuit Pour Femme is my new signature scent. In New York, I have all my fragrances out, but in London, they're behind a little glass door on shelves. It's like a sweet shop!"
On her website, Goop.com:
"I find everything about Goop exciting. I just hired a partner and we've started talking about our ambitions and hopes for the site. It won't be long before you start seeing some changes."
On her love of food:
"I work out so I can eat what I want; I adore food and have loved cooking for the past 20 years. My favorite foods are savory and if I allowed myself an treat, it would be fried food, or a baguette with smelly French cheese and wine, followed by a confit of duck and French fries."

| Gwyneth Paltrow 'stands up to cancer,' talks about her father's death | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I got my Season 3 DVDs of The Good Wife on Friday, so that?s how I?ve spent most of my weekend ? meaning that I did not end up watching the Stand Up to Cancer telethon event thing which aired on Friday night. I was involved with Kalinda and Alicia and Eli instead. Sorry! I hear that Taylor Swift had some kind of emotional breakdown, Robert Pattinson showed his face once again (what a pro!) and that Gwyneth Paltrow was ?giving back? to the peasants. No, I won?t be mean about it ? Goop?s dad died of cancer, and I believe that she?s still pretty devastated about it. Gwyneth spoke to People about it (interview below), and I?ve included some Goop photos from the red carpet at the event. Most people paired their ?Stand Up To Cancer? t-shirts with jeans? but not Goop! Goop paired her t-shirt with a flirty little skirt and major heels. I will say this ? her ?fresh face? makeup job looks GREAT. She looks years younger when she?s not trying, you know?
Gywneth Paltrow got a wake-up call when she lost her father, director-producer Bruce Paltrow, to cancer a decade ago.
“When my father was diagnosed with cancer, it really changed the way that I lived ? it changed my whole lifestyle,” Paltrow, who executive produced the multi-network Stand Up to Cancer broadcast Friday night, tells PEOPLE. “I completely changed my diet, and I got very serious about exercising and about exposure to toxins.”
“It really changed the way that I thought,” says the actress, 39. “I think I had more of a laissez-faire attitude about my health, and when he got cancer it was a real shock. … It was sort of like the break of my adolescence.”
“This is my one life, and I need to invest in myself and my family and make sure that we can do what we can to stay healthy,” she added.
Remembering her father ? who produced television series like St. Elsewhere and directed his daughter in the 2000 film Duets ? by producing the Stand Up to Cancer show turned out to be an emotional experience for both Paltrow and her mother, actress Blythe Danner.
“It’s emotional for me because I keep getting emails from my mother saying how proud she is of me that I’m doing it, and she keeps talking about my father,? Paltrow, whose husband Chris Martin and his band Coldplay also participated in the event, told reporters.
“It’s emotional to be in front of the cameras and encouraging people to join the fight against cancer,” she said. “Especially when you’re doing it in memory of someone that you loved so much.”
[From People]
Allegedly, Gwyneth has gotten so concerned about her mom that she and her family are going to be moving back to LA so that Goop and Blythe can see more of each other. I?m not sure if that?s true, though. Goop does love her life in London, so who knows.
I?m also including photos of Chelsea Handler (who looked especially rough) and Sofia Vergara, who can wear the hell out of a pair of jeans.

Trying her best to keep a low profile, Gwyneth Paltrow made her way into Heathrow Airport to catch a flight out of London on Tuesday (September 4).
The "Iron Man" actress tucked her hands into the pockets of her olive green pants which she paired with a cap sleeve white blazer and black ankle boots as she kept her eyes on the ground in front of her.
During her trip across the pond, Gwyneth was pictured stopping into the Starbucks at Belsize Park where she bumped into Ricky Gervais outside while then being greeted by Kate Hudson as soon as she walked into the coffee shop.
Miss Paltrow is currently working on filming "Iron Man 3" and - although the plot has yet to be revealed - a new cast member has been added to the May 3, 2013 film.
According to Mtime, Chinese actor Wang Xueqi is expected to star in "Iron Man 3" as Radioactive Man, who is a villainous character and is also known as Chen Lu.
