Last week, we heard about Gwyneth Paltrow?s latest conscious uncoupling, this time with Sebastian Bishop, the CEO of Goop. As I said last week, I was actually surprised that Goop had such a professional CEO-type running the business end, because Goop is a somewhat budget endeavor. I guess the branding is ?these are just tips that Gwyneth is giving to her fans,? like it?s a personal blog or something. But it looks like Goop has grown into a legit business with significant profits. The problem is that Gwyneth spends money like it?s going out of style and she and Bishop were both taking ?interest-free loans? out of the coffers. Radar is about to throw a lot of numbers at you, so just stick it out!
Gwyneth Paltrow?s marriage isn?t the only area of her life that?s in shambles. Just days after the CEO of her lifestyle company, GOOP, announced his unexpected departure, RadarOnline.com has uncovered disturbing corporate filings that reveal the company?s dire financial state: For two years running, they racked up serious losses totaling more than $300,000 ? thanks in part to an interest-free loan Paltrow took from the company coffers!
According to the most recent corporate documentation filed with the Companies House in the U.K., in 2011, GOOP ?incurred a loss of $255,312 (152,060) and had a net liabilities of $259,969 (154,834).? And in 2012, they reported ?a loss of $39,823 (23,718) and ? net liabilities of $298,512 (177,788).?
It?s not that GOOP wasn?t making money. In fact, in 2012, they raked in more than $1.5 million (908,378), thanks in part to $463,486 (276,040) in product sales, as well as an impressive (222,243) from Groupon promotions and $373,159 in commissions. All told, the company made $1,893,065 (1,127,456).
But that same year, GOOP spent $98,150 (58,456) on Goop.com, $79,961 (47,623) on the notorious GOOP newsletter, $189,590 (112,918) on product costs, and a whopping $1,564,995 (932,096) in administrative expenses,? adding up to the grand profit total of a loss of $39,823 (23,718).
Chief among those ?administrative expenses? were Paltrow and CEO Sebastian Bishop?s ?renumeration,? or salaries, for which the company allotted $587,653.25 (350,000), a sizable increase from the previous year?s figure of $172,585 (102,788), despite the company?s losses.
The documents also show that in 2012, both Paltrow and Bishop were the recipient of interest-free ?loans to directors,? with Paltrow?s listed at a balance of $49,025 (29,200), of which none was paid back, and Bishop?s at $83,617 (49,800). Other expenses in 2012 included $456,007 (271,584) in other wages, $34,507 (20,551) on travel, nearly $4,000 (2,118) on ?Entertaining,? and nearly $5,000 (2,951) on ?Staff Entertainment.?
All told, the expenses swallowed up the entire $1.8 million profit for the year and then some, resulting in a loss of $39,823. Paltrow and Bishop?s report had an excuse, insisting, ?As the company started product sales in June 2012, the directors are of the opinion that predicted profits will provide sufficient resources to enable the company to continue trading for the foreseeable future.?
The continued existence of GOOP, it seems, would depend upon it, since the report noted that in addition to the losses, the company owed creditors more than $1.2 million (722,111), all of which would come due by the end of 2013.
[From Radar]
Radar goes on to say that Goop has donated to charity too – $2000 to the David Lynch Foundation so kids can learn transcendental meditation, plus about $9000 more to other charities.
If you really look through the numbers and the details about the business, there are some startling realizations, at least for me. I want to know about the ?commissions? especially. When Gwyneth began Goop, she claimed that people weren?t paying her to promote various products, but that claim seems less and less likely. I also think that the bloated figures given for Goop?s ?expenses? mean that Gwyneth is using company money to go on vacation and whatever trendy therapy she?s into at that moment, and then she writes about it in a Goop newsletter, thus making it ?business.? And how can they spend that much money on operating Goop.com and still have such crappy servers?!
Anyway? just further evidence that Gwyneth?s Goop is just a sketchy scheme to write off her vacations and pay herself to party.

Even though I?m a ?professional blogger? (I still can?t believe I get paid to gossip), I don?t really spend that much time on other blogs. I was sitting here, struggling to come up with a suitable comparison for Gwyneth Paltrow?s Goop.com, and I couldn?t really. I remember when Goop felt more homespun, like it was just a simple pet project from Gwyneth, like she was making a personal newsletter public. Nowadays, Goop.com is an industry with its own online catalogue of specialty products and collaborations with major designers. I still think Goop.com is a poorly operated site though. But, again, I don?t know what I should be comparing it to. Compared to other online boutiques, Goop sucks. Compared to comparably sized blogs, Goop looks amateurish and budget. What?s my point? My point is that I was startled to realize that Goop.com has a CEO. And he?s quitting the Goop.
After Gwyneth Paltrow?s ?conscious uncoupling? with Chris Martin, she now faces another painful split: Seb Bishop, the highlyregarded CEO of Goop, has quit.
Page Six has exclusively confirmed Bishop, a leading British entrepreneur who was international CEO of AIDS-fighting charity (RED) before joining Goop in 2011, has quit Paltrow?s lifestyle blog, on which she announced her separation from Martin last month.
We?re told that Bishop resigned after Paltrow ? in a move to sever her ties to London, where Martin lives ? announced to Goop staff she was moving the office from the British capital to Los Angeles.
Our source said: ?Seb was ready to move his wife Heidi and their children from London, and had even been looking at properties in Los Angeles, but then he abruptly quit.? The source added, ?There is speculation that he and Paltrow disagreed on the direction of Goop, partly that she used the Web site as a vehicle for her personal life, and the ?conscious uncoupling? announcement.?
Paltrow?s rep Stephen Huvane confirmed Bishop is leaving Goop, but denied he abruptly quit in a disagreement with Paltrow.
He told us, ?It?s not completely true. Seb is still with Goop, but has decided not to relocate his family to Los Angeles. He will be transitioning out over time until a replacement is named.?
Either way, the ?corporate uncoupling? is a huge blow to Paltrow. Multimillionaire Bishop, 40, was a top ad agency art director who made his mark at the age of 26 when he founded Espotting, which brought the paid-search online advertising model to Europe. In 2008, he became CEO of (RED), the organization created by Bono and Bobby Shriver to raise money to fight HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa, and is also an investor in mobile news app Summly.
Bishop and Paltrow were photographed together at Goop?s summer party in Mayfair, London, last May. He could not be reached for comment Wednesday night.
[From Page Six]
Basically, Bishop sounds like a heavy-hitter in the world of online content and he?s been working as the CEO of Goop? That?s so weird. Stranger still, he was prepared to move his family to LA so that he could continue his Goop work and now he?s not. Something seems? weird. Very strange. I?m including some photos of Seb and his wife Heidi. Heidi looks like a young Gwyneth. Odd.
So, do you buy the idea that Seb didn?t want Goop.com to be operated as some kind of personal website, that it would defeat the established branding of Goop? While that would be funny if true, I doubt it. So much of Goop.com is personal ? Gwyneth posts personal stuff on there all the time. It?s just that the cat?s out of the bag with how low-tech and amateurish the whole Goop operation is now that their server crashed when Gwyneth and Chris announced their split.
Also: Us Weekly is saying that something is up too, which just goes to the now months-long conspiracy theory that someone in Gwyneth’s camp is leaking like a mofo. Probably a peasant. The unnamed peasant told Us Weekly: “A week and a half ago, he abruptly resigned from GOOP. It’s really suspicious — I think something weird is going on with GOOP.” So many conspiracies!
You can read this week?s Goop-letter here. It?s all about pain and holistic pain-management. I wanted a Vicodin after a skimmed it for a minute.

Gwyneth Paltrow?s son Moses turned 8 years old last week. Time flies, right? Apple is what? Ten years old? Let me see… she?ll be ten in May. Crazy. So, while Chris Martin was in Brooklyn without his wedding ring, Gwyneth organized a birthday party for her son and his friends. And Moses must have begged and begged because there was peasant food at the party. Peasant food like? HOT DOGS. And Indian food. GASP.
Party at the Paltrows! Gwyneth Paltrow threw a fun-filled birthday bash for her 8-year-old son Moses at her home in L.A.’s Brentwood nabe on Saturday, April 12. An eyewitness tells Us Weekly the Goop founder — who announced her split from husband Chris Martin last month — “went all out” for her son’s eighth birthday party.
“Everything took place in the backyard,” the insider tells Us, adding that the set-up of the driveway included blue ombre-faded balloons spelling out the letters “M-O-S-E-S” beside the number “8.” The guest list included 20 of Moses’ friends and a few of 9-year-old Apple’s pals, too.
“Colorful tables were set up everywhere,” the eyewitness recalls, “and hula hoops and balls for the kids to play with.” Along with the toys, the backyard featured a giant inflatable bounce house in the style of a pirate ship. But that’s not all! A magician was also on-site to entertain the kids.
For lunch, the kids and adults enjoyed delightful treats catered by food trucks, including gourmet hotdog vendor Dogtown Dogs and L.A.’s beloved “chow truck” India Jones. Specialties included hot dogs topped with Fritos and Indian street food like samosas, curry and Indian tacos, the source says.
The party ended at around 4 p.m. in the afternoon. Some of the guests were spotted leaving in airbrushed T-shirts, designed at the party, which included each kid’s name and a design of his or her choice.
[From Us Weekly]
Hot dogs with Fritos?!?! What in the world? And do young kids really like all of that spicy Indian food? I couldn?t stand it when I was little, but I?ve developed a taste for it as an adult. I would have never thought that an eight-year-old?s birthday party would be the perfect time for Indian food. But that?s why Gwyneth Paltrow is better than all of us. See? She?s multicultural! She had Indian food! And hot dogs! I bet she had a migraine all day about feeding her innocent children that kind of food. Someone probably found her in a corner, rocking back and forth and whispering, ?Just for the day? just for the day?tomorrow the juice fast begins…?

We have some sad news and some funny news about Gwyneth Paltrow today. I believe the sad story and I think the funny story is too good to be true, but if it is true? Gwyneth is hilariously delusional, which is why it might be true. Let?s start with the sad story, which is in this morning?s Page Six.
Gwyneth Paltrow didn?t want to go public with her ?conscious uncoupling? from Chris Martin. She wanted to keep pretending to the world that they were still together, sources tell me.
?It was his idea to announce the split. They had drifted apart, and there was no chance they?d get back together, so he felt it was wrong to keep pretending,? said one gossip.
Now Paltrow is upset.
Most people believe it was her fault the marriage ended because of her alleged links to real-estate mogul Jeffrey Soffer and entertainment lawyer Kevin Yorn.
Martin, who didn?t lose his virginity until he was 22, seems to be the innocent naf who couldn?t keep up with an entitled Hollywood princess.
[From Page Six]
Throughout their marriage, Chris mentioned in several interviews that he was not very experienced with women and I think Gwyneth was only his second or third girlfriend ever. He was/is a late bloomer, which might explain his infidelities (have you ever met someone who only became desirable later in life?). Plus, I believe that Gwyneth would have been fine having a pretend marriage. For Gwyneth, all that matters is how things LOOK, not how they ARE. She?s like that about her health and body too. She doesn?t actually want to BE healthy, she just wants to be thin and have a good body. Sad.
Now for the funny story. From Radar:
Who is Gwyneth Paltrow?s favorite actress? Probably herself! As new details emerge about how the actress? ego may have played a part in her split from Chris Martin, only RadarOnline.com has the cringe-worthy details of just how out of control her self-love can get.According to an insider, Paltrow recently tried to re-live her glory days by inviting her family and friends to her home and making them watch her old blockbusters!
Paltrow ?totally embarrassed herself? last summer by holding a private ?Goop Film Festival? event at her ultra-lush Hamptons estate, an insider tells Radar exclusively.
?After the massive success of Iron Man 3, Gwyneth started hosting regular screenings of some of her old 90?s hits,? the source explains, ?including Seven, Sliding Doors and Shakespeare in Love.?
But it wasn?t just a night of entertainment for her invited guests. The weary pal recalls, Paltrow asked her captive audience ?what works about the movies.?
?Gwyneth is really just trying to re-live her glory days,? the friend says. ?The truth is, if you look at her schedule, she?s just not a full-time actor anymore, but she still wants to be treated like a screen legend.?
And though her pals were subjected to the Goop-y screenings the source says one person managed to skip the show ? her now-estranged husband.
?She?s been trotting out the old movies for her friends, but most of them would rather watch paint dry,? the source explains. ?It was pretty embarrassing and interestingly Chris never hung around to watch.?
[From Radar]
Is this true? You be the judge. I?m 50/50 on it. It sounds like something that could have started innocently enough, like one of Goop?s friends saying that they had never watched Sliding Doors or Shakespeare in Love, and Goop was like, ?Hey, we should do a screening!? Or maybe Gwyneth thought that her friends would enjoy a seminar in Gooping On Screen. Reel to Reel: The Goop Years. Sliding Goop. Sky Captain and the Goop of Tomorrow. A Goopy Murder. The Royal Goopenbaums. I could do this all day, just FYI. The Goopiversary Party. And then as a palate cleanser, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Goop.
Goop was out at the Chateau Marmont last night too:

I was trying to find the first mention of this in our archives, but all I could find was the story about how Gwyneth Paltrow?s London neighbors hate her and think she?s a gauche, tacky American. But I do remember reading ? months ago? ? that Goop?s LA neighbors hate her too. I guess I just never wrote about it. The main complaint from Goop?s LA neighbors is that she and Chris Martin erected a huge black gate on their property which violated many of the community standards and/or zoning laws. The neighbors asked Gwyneth and Chris to take the gate down, but they did not. And now the neighbors are complaining to Radar:
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are staying civil post-split, but it?s a different matter entirely when it comes to their neighbors! RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that the angry residents who live close to the couple?s $10 million mansion in Brentwood, Los Angeles, have accused the pair of being the neighbors from hell ? and now, Paltrow and Martin are even facing prosecution!
Paltrow and Martin bought the home in 2012. According to neighbors, Paltrow immediately planted four layers of huge fir trees surrounding the property and installed a huge nine-foot black gate that violated zoning laws in the posh neighborhood. A complaint was filed with the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety. But a year later, they still haven?t torn it down and their livid neighbors are demanding action.
The couple should have replaced it with a smaller gate within 45 days or incurred a $900 fine. A Los Angeles City Council spokesman said that for that particular property the height limitation is 3.5ft ? more than five feet shorter than the one the couple currently has. But this is only the start of the list of complaints by neighbors, who have spent more than a year living next to what one described as a ?building site.?
?There was always work being done at the house,? one neighbor reveals. ?I only got annoyed when the workmen would illegally park in my driveway and they hadn?t even spoken to me about it.?
When faced with such issues, neighbors were forced to go through a middleman instead of approaching the famous duo directly.
?I spoke to a guy called Oliver who seems to deal with all their issues to do with their neighbors, the house and community,? the source says. ?He sorted it. We never got to see Gwyneth; we?d only go through Oliver,? the source explains.
Other neighbors confirmed that Paltrow is barely seen in the neighborhood, despite saying in an interview last year that she was desperate to drag the family to Los Angeles so that their kids Apple and Moses could go swimming and ?pick avocados.? Instead, neighbors say it?s been Martin who?s been overseeing home base for the family.
?We used to see Chris walking the dogs,? neighbor Hilda McGonigle reveals. ?He was a really nice guy. He was the one with the talent; she was the one just writing cook books. To some people, their issues might get on people?s nerves, but I personally didn?t care. I didn?t have much time for her, but I liked him.?
Now that the couple has split, another neighbor says, ?It?s weird timing ? he was building a studio in the back of the house, so it makes no sense he wanted to leave here. He seemed happy. But she wasn?t as popular with the street.?
In fact, some neighbors were even scared to speak about her on the record. One said fearfully, ?I don?t want anything bad to happen to me, so I can?t say anything. Last time I did, then it was difficult, so now I don?t want any problems.?
McGonigle explains, ?It?s a really active community, but we don?t see much of them. When they moved in they had Do Not Trespass signs put up at their school and all over their property. Then they had the big gates put in and four layers of trees. I actually felt bad for them, as there was so much media intrusion when they moved in, I had paparazzi blocking my way into my own drive. It got so bad the police got involved. There was no sense of privacy, but I know it annoyed the neighbor next door.?
Still, she insists that the couple should take down the gate, even as they focus on their divorce. She insists, ?It?s against the zoning laws to do it, as it ruins the sense of community if everyone had those gates.?
[From Radar]
Is this just typical sexist BS? It seems like Chris was the one around more and actually talking to the neighbors and Gwyneth was the one with her nose in the air, ignoring the peasantry and so she got blamed for all of the neighbors? complaints when it was really about Chris and Gwyneth BOTH? Now, all that being said? yes, it wouldn?t kill Gwyneth to deign to speak to her peasant neighbors or to work out some of the issues people have with the big, ugly gate.

Over the weekend, some UK papers were trying to play it like Chris Martin is super-committed to making his marriage work. Ha. A source told The Mirror: ?Chris still loves Gwyneth and would still like the marriage to survive. He hopes they might be able to rediscover what they had years ago and would love to rebuild their relationship back to what it once was.? Homeboy, please. Now, if ?sources? were trying to convince me that Chris liked the arrangement that he and Gwyneth had where he could bang other women and Gwyneth just had to live with it (and she was banging other people too), then we might be on to something. I?ve been asking myself this for a week: why NOW? What was the ?breaking point? between them? If you told me that it was Gwyneth who finally decided that she couldn?t live the ?open marriage? lifestyle anymore, than I wouldn?t be surprised.
Now, all that being said, I do think those quotes from the UK underline a certain point: both Gwyneth and Chris want to come out of this marriage looking like the ?good one.? Both want to come out with the public sympathy, and both want to make it seem like they really gave it their all and tried to work out their differences. How this whole mess plays out in the media ? especially now that major outlets are confirming the Alexa Chung rumors ? will be interesting to see in the coming weeks and months. But what about the money? Don?t be gauche, darling.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin will end their marriage amicably … in large part because they’ve each done things during the marriage they DON’T want ending up in legal docs.
Sources close to the former couple tell TMZ … this is NOT a separation. They are definitely getting divorced. But both are concerned about serious PR damage if the divorce turns ugly, and they don’t want to open the door to media reports about them straying from the marriage as well as other issues.
The concern … even if the case doesn’t go to trial … any allegation put down in legal docs could end up getting leaked … and both Gwyneth and Chris agree … that’s the worst case scenario for both of them.
The soon-to-be-exes even spent the weekend together … with friends … in the Bahamas — more proof this is gonna be totally civil.
We’re told the divorce will be relatively quick and there are no apparent conflicts. They will not fight over money and they won’t fight over custody.
[From TMZ]
But who will custody of the publicists?!?! No, I imagine this is true ? Gwyneth and Chris will figure out some equitable solution to their real estate, financial holdings and custody of their children, and it will probably look a lot like what they?ve already been doing for the past few years. Gwyneth will keep the American properties, Chris will keep the UK property, Gwyneth will have primary custody but Chris will be involved and he?ll get to spend time with Apple and Moses when he?s not touring. But! All of that has nothing to do with the leaks (controlled or otherwise) and public jockeying for sympathy.

Have you read this week?s Goop-letter? It?s called ?One Bird, Three Meals,” which sounds like p0rn, but she?s just talking about chicken. Anyway, Gwyneth Paltrow did a postscript: ?CM and I in deep gratitude for the support of so many.? I would imagine that only Gwyneth?s A-list friends are supporting her, and even then? it?s questionable. We might be surprised by how many people come down on Team Alexa Chung. Anyway, there are some assorted pieces of news/gossip from the past few days, so let?s get to it:
*According to the UK gossips, Gwyneth is ?ready to have another boyfriend? She’s very much about having fun.? Methinks she?s already had several boyfriends while still married, but sure, for argument?s sake, let?s say that she?s ?ready? to have an official boyfriend. I think she?s going to wait a bit. I really do. Even though we all know that her marriage has been bad for a while, Gwyneth probably thinks it?s terribly gauche not to ?mourn? the marriage for a certain amount of time.
*Page Six says that Gwyneth and Chris plan to live in separate wings of the same Malibu mansion while they are consciously uncoupling. A source says: ?The place actually includes two totally separate living spaces under one roof so Paltrow and Martin can live together – apart – during their divorce.? That will last about a month? and then he?ll probably move out, I would think.
*Us Weekly says that Blythe Danner, Goop?s mom, was and is very fond of Chris and she doesn?t know why her insufferable daughter has to get a divorce. A source tells Us Weekly that Blythe is ?really upset. She loves Chris. She begged Gwyneth not to end it, that he’s a good man. But Gwyneth had to do what she felt was best.”
Last thing: I?ve seen some sites trying to guesstimate as to Chris and Gwyneth?s net worth and how they?ll split their assets. I would think that they probably didn?t have a pre-nup (so gauche), and I?m assuming Gwyneth will file for divorce in California. I?ve been thinking for a while now that most of Gwyneth and Chris?s assets are tied up in real estate, from London to the Hamptons to Manhattan to two properties in California. Gwyneth will likely keep the New York properties (the apartment was hers to begin with) and?? Beyond that, I have no idea. Will Chris live in that gauche London mansion all by himself?

You know what I love? I love that all of the media sites ? especially the NY outlets ? are calling out Vanity Fair and Graydon Carter for not having the brass to pull the trigger on a real Gwyneth Paltrow tell-all. The NYDN says that Vanity Fair did have the scoop on Gwyneth and Chris Martin?s separation and that Gwyneth got Graydon Carter to bury it by whining, basically. Sources say that Chris and Goop have ?had an open relationship for quite some time.? Yep.
Anyway, this interview happened before Gwyneth announced her split, but it looks particularly bad now that Gwyneth will have to deign to rebrand her image as a boldly delightful and richly fun single mother.
Just a week before Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin announced they were separating, the actress opened up to E! News about her plans for the coming year. Paltrow, who just signed on as the new face of natural skin care line Restorsea, revealed that she’s taking some time off to focus on her two children, Apple, 9, and Moses, 7.
“I just finished a movie in January that I was doing at the end of last year in London with Johnny Depp, and then I had two weeks here, and then I did a couple of episodes for Glee for the 100th episode,” she shared with us.
“So I have to go back to mommy?I have a rule about one movie a year, so I can’t shoot anything for a while, but I’m developing some material and working on the site [Goop] and raising kids.”
The 41-year-old Hollywood A-lister also explained how it’s trickier to maintain her film career now that her children are getting older.
“It’s much harder for me. I feel like I set it up in a way that makes it difficult because?for me, like if I miss a school run, they are like, ‘Where were you?’ I don’t like to be the lead so I don’t [have] to work every day, you know, I have little things that I like and obviously I want it to be good and challenging and interesting and be with good people and that kind of thing.”
She added, “I think it’s different when you have an office job, because it’s routine and, you know, you can do all the stuff in the morning and then you come home in the evening. When you’re shooting a movie, they’re like, ‘We need you to go to Wisconsin for two weeks,’ and then you work 14 hours a day and that part of it is very difficult. I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as, of course there are challenges, but it’s not like being on set.”
[From E! News]
Yes, she totally said that. Gwyneth Paltrow does not feel ?sorry? for any of you peasant mothers with your 9-to-5 ?jobs? in some kind of ?office.? At least you get to keep an orderly schedule! Pity poor Gwyneth, she has to go to WISCONSIN for two weeks and then the rest of the year she just needs to recuperate in one of her five mansions while two nannies attend to the children and her personal chef makes her a cabbage smoothie for her tenth juice fast of the year. YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW SHE STRUGGLES.
Dame Gwyneth wishes she had the luxury of just staying in one place and making ?minimum wage? (?What IS this ?minimum wage? people keep speaking of?? Gwyneth wondered. ?Does it have something to do with hedge funds??) at some sort of food distribution establishment. She wishes she was that lucky! Instead she has to fly to Wisconsin, for goodness sake, and then to New York for a photo shoot (ugh, how draining) and then to London for a party (another party, how gauche) and then to Paris for a fitting (the worst!) and then back to LA for an awards show (so exhausting). And then when Gwyneth chooses to work, it?s always so dreadful? so many assistants bringing her water and coffee and so many people doing her hair and makeup and then they expect her to, like, stand in proper lighting and say some words. It?s truly dreadful. You have absolutely no idea how exhausting the whole process is.
(Of course the really funny thing is that Gwyneth really does work so much harder than, say, Duchess Kate.)

Look, if you don’t understand the hate for Gwyneth Paltrow by now, there’s absolutely nothing I can do for you. I’m not even sure reading this will change your mind because, much like Gwyneth, you live in another world.
Gwyneth recently opened up to E! News about her plan of doing only one movie a year so she can spend more time with her kids. She explained how much harder it was to maintain her film career as her children get older.
“I think it’s different when you have an office job, because it’s routine and, you know, you can do all the stuff in the morning and then you come home in the evening. When you’re shooting a movie, they’re like, ‘We need you to go to Wisconsin for two weeks,’ and then you work 14 hours a day and that part of it is very difficult. I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as, of course there are challenges, but it’s not like being on set.”
Oh, yes. The struggle is very real for Gwyneth Paltrow. It’s not easy being both a mom and an actor who gets paid millions of dollars to play pretend in front of a camera. Not to mention the two week vacations where you have to, ugh, read lines off a script for 14 hours a day.
You office moms have it made. You get to pick up your kid in the morning, clock in, clock out and make dinner in the evening day in and day out never having to change your routine for 18 years. So lucky.
