Getting a break from parental duties, John Travolta and Kelly Preston turned up at the 2011 G'Day USA Black Tie Gala in Hollywood, California on Saturday night (January 22).
Held at Hollywood Palladium, the couple was all smiles as thet posed for pictures at the annual event while joining fellow attendees including John Easterling, Olivia Newton John and Abbie Cornish.
Talking with press on hand, Miss Preston said that their newborn baby Benjamin was safe and sound at home with big sister Ella Blue and a babysitter.
Kelly dished, "I called home three times in the last hour and he?s doing well. He's perfect! He's fine."
Chiming in, Travolta told, "Ella loves Benjamin. She just can't stop loving him."
Preston also said that Benjamin is "identical" to his actor father, telling, "Maybe there's me somewhere in there, but he looks so much like his daddy."

This are photos of John Travolta at a store opening event for Breitling, the watch company. John was flying solo last night - at least, no Kelly. I?m sure he picked someone up at the spa who could escort him however. Why waste his ?I?m so fancy and I have a newborn baby? toupee. Speaking of baby Ben, John spoke to People Magazine about his boy:
John Travolta has a little mini-me: baby boy Benjamin.
“He looks like me,” Travolta, 56, tells PEOPLE of his bright blue-eyed 7-week-old son at the opening of the new Breitling flagship store in New York Thursday night. “He’s been great. One night, he actually slept seven hours ? which is unbelievable!”
The downside to having a newborn? Traveling ? but only because he’s away from his little boy. Travolta was in Manhattan Thursday, while his family, including wife Kelly Preston and daughter Ella Bleu, 10, were home in Ocala, Fla.
“I’ll be exactly gone 24 hours, and I miss him already,” says the proud dad, who will head to Berlin on Feb. 5, where he’ll be honored with the prestigious Golden Camera award for his movie work.
After enduring the tragedy of losing son Jett in 2009, Travolta is again enjoying the simple pleasures of fatherhood.
“I love holding him and feeding him,” he says of Ben. “My time is bottle time or when he’s contented and ready to be walked around and held or taken for a walk.”
He adds: “Otherwise, he’s on Mom’s breast. So I have to be on call ? hop in when it’s my turn.”

Just the idea of John being ?on call? when Ben isn?t on Kelly?s breast is fascinating. I mean? how is she breastfeeding if she was wearing a pillow all this time? Oh, right. SHE GAVE BIRTH, HATERS. Also, I love that the whole undercurrent of this is that John couldn?t wait to fly to New York so that he wouldn?t have his soul crushed any longer in the faade of his marriage. He was barely around while Kelly was pregnant - just a week before she ?delivered? he was enjoying a tour of Australian spa dong (ALLEGEDLY). And I love that John showed up to appear at a store opening - the very definition of an event that could have easily been missed. Sigh? put another decade on the contract, Xenu.
Also, baby Ben looks L. Ron Hubbard. I’m just sayin’.

John Tavolta and Kelly Preston are showing off their baby Pillow Ben on the cover of this week?s People Magazine. There are so many hilarious things on this cover, it feels a little bit mean to point them out. Okay, first: Travolta?s wig. I mean?he?s wearing his special ?subtle red highlights = new baby? toupee. And Kelly Preston is all ?of course I gave birth WHY WOULD YOU SAY I DIDN?T?? And the all-white is nice too - it gives a visual representation to the whitewash of this whole thing. Baby Ben is a cutie, though. At least they?re all happy and healthy. All in all, though, I kind of think John would rather be getting some spa dong.
John Travolta and Kelly Preston had tried for another child for three years, so the surprise news last year that Preston was pregnant left them “completely blown away!” the actress tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview.
Now, less than two months after Preston, 48, delivered Benjamin on Nov. 23, the proud parents are showing off their little “miracle.”
“He’s given the house a renewed spirit and purpose,” says Travolta, 56, who held Preston’s hand during labor as their 10-year-old daughter Ella Bleu waited excitedly outside the room with actress Kirstie Alley, a close family pal.
These days, the Travolta home in Ocala, Fla., is filled with joy, lullabies from Dad (”A Bushel and a Peck,” from the musical Guys and Dolls, is a favorite), readings of Good Night, Gorilla and hugs from big sister Ella. Best moment for both parents so far? Benjamin’s first smile.

James Franco is on one of Entertainment Weekly?s Oscar Preview covers - not only because he?s one of the Oscar hosts this year, but because he?s likely going to be an Oscar contender, for 127 Hours. My opinion of Franco has drastically changed over the course of the past year. I started out really liking him, and then at some point, I just started finding him exhausting. He pisses me off - he?s a wonderful actor, one of the best of his generation, and he pisses it away too often in his attempts to be Too Much. He?s not just Franco The Actor. He wants to be Franco The Writer, Franco The Artist, Franco The Provocateur. Eh. He?s not provocative, he just seems like an emo teenager with ?so much to say? only his poetry reads like lyrics from The Cure, you know? And Franco?s writing sucks. Whatever.
But still, I have lingering attatchment to Franco, because I keep hoping he grows out of the ?Dirtlip As Performance Art? phase. And interviews like this EW piece certainly help - James talks about sexuality, identity politics and performance with a lot of depth and authenticity here:
?Is James Franco gay?? is a favorite query of the pop-cultural chattering classes. It?s not like it?s unique to him: Having the public ponder your sexuality is a celebrity rite of passage. But the thing that makes Franco?s case so interesting is that, unlike the loud denials from some stars and even louder silences from others, the response from the 127 Hours star (who, for the record, has been in a years-long relationship with actress Ahna O?Reilly) is actually pretty nuanced. Franco addressed the rumor-mill mentality in an exclusive interview with EW for our recent cover story.
?It?s funny because the way that kind of stuff is talked about on blogs is so black-and-white,? Franco says. ?It?s all cut-and-dry identity politics. ?Is he straight or is he gay?? Or, ?This is your third gay movie ? come out already!? And all based on, gay or straight, based on the idea that your object of affection decides your sexuality.?
The actor definitely doesn?t let the speculation inhibit his choice of roles; Franco?s filmography is packed with gay characters, from Allen Ginsberg in Howl, to activist Scott Smith in Milk and poet Hart Crane in his just-wrapped feature The Broken Tower.
?There are lots of other reasons to be interested in gay characters than wanting myself to go out and have sex with guys,? he says. ?And there are also lots of other aspects about these characters that I?m interested in, in addition to their sexuality. So, in some ways it?s coincidental, in other ways it?s not. I mean, I?ve played a gay man who?s living in the ?60s and ?70s, a gay man who we depicted in the ?50s, and one being in the ?20s. And those were all periods when to be gay, at least being gay in public, was much more difficult. Part of what I?m interested in is how these people who were living anti-normative lifestyles contended with opposition. Or, you know what, maybe I?m just gay.?

Not a denial, not a confirmation, but a genuine conversation about being a straight actor drawn to playing gay men. It would be wonderful to see someone like Tom Cruise or John Travolta talk about performance and sexuality like this. But they won?t. See - Franco is a wonderful actor. Why all of the extra drama and dumb ?art? stuff? Just be a great actor.

Coming as quite the unexpected surprise, John Travolta has made an early departure from promotional efforts in Australia to be alongside his pregnant wife, Kelly Preston.
Breaking reports tell that the "Pulp Fiction" actor, who was in the Land Down Under for the 90th anniversary of Qantas airlines, made the premature return home as Miss Preston is said to have gone into labor a bit sooner than planned.
The Herald Sun tells that Travolta quickly loaded aboard his personal Boeing 707 to make the long trip back to the States upon receiving the news.
The couple had expected their newest family member to arrive on November 26th, with John having recently revealed that they're having a boy who will be named Benjamin.

Star Magazine claims they got an exclusive interview with John Travolta, and that he told them what he and Kelly Preston are going to name their soon-to-be-born son. Allegedly, the baby?s name with be Benjamin. Ben Travolta. Benji Preston Travolta, perhaps. It?s kind of cute. Better than L. Ron Travolta, I guess. (L’Ron Travolta would be good though.) But here?s a question: why is Travolta giving exclusive interviews to the same publication that had an article about his hairpiece refrigeration unit, housing 102 toupees?
John Travolta and Kelly Preston have chosen a name for their soon-to-be born baby boy: It’s Benjamin!
In a world exclusive interview, John revealed to Star the baby’s name and said that Kelly, 48, is due to give birth in three weeks. As Star has reported, John is in Australia to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Qantas airline. John flew his personal Boeing 707 to Sydney for the event.
John and Kelly already have a daughter named Ella Bleu, 10. They lost their 16-year-old son Jett after he suffered a fatal seizure in January 2009.

Good for them, I guess. But the countdown stuff has got to end. Kelly has been really big for a while, so my guess is that she?s going to go into labor very soon, or maybe she just needs to get a new pillow (joking). Anyway, remember how Kelly and John are the official keeps of everything Xenu-related, and thus, they are going to adhere to the whole Scientologist ?silent birth? thing? Here?s another question: at what point in the post-natal time frame can the mother speak? Like, can she hold her newborn son and say ?I pronounce you Benjamin L’Ron Travolta!? or will that scar the baby?s soul just as much as childbirth screaming?

Gearing up for the arrival of a brand new family member, John Travolta and Kelly Preston have revealed the sex of their baby-on-the-way.
Having made the glorious announcement that they're expecting back in May, the couple's rep confirms that a young son is en route to the Travolta household!
Earlier this month, John and Kelly welcomed guests to their Los Angeles area mansion to celebrate the good news with a shower.
Having lost son Jett after their boy passed away at the age of 16 following a fatal seizure back in January 2009, a source close to the couple tells People magazine, ?This baby is such a healing baby.?

Joining together to celebrate their beliefs, the stars were out for The Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre's 41st Anniversary Gala held at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre in Los Angeles, California on Saturday night (August 7).
With John Travolta and expecting wife Kelly Preston turning up with daughter Ella, the happy family joined their many Scientologist pals for a swanky soiree.
Among the guests on-hand were former "Dharma and Greg" actress Jenna Elfman, as well as astronaut Buzz Aldrin and his wife Lois Driggs Cannon.
Rounding out the Scientology celebration were singers Elena Roggero and Michele Henderson - while there was no sign of Tom Cruise or wife Katie Holmes at the west coast weekend fete.

Piloting his way overseas, John Travolta made a grand arrival in at an airstrip in Lanseria, South Africa on Thursday (June 10).
Joined by his expecting wife, Kelly Preston, and daughter, Ella Bleu, the happy trio are among the many in town ahead of tomorrow's kickoff of the World Cup in Johannesburg.
Also tending to business matters, John just so happens to be the goodwill ambassador for the Australian airline Qantas - of which he'll show support for the Australian national team, the Socceroos, while in town over the next five days.
On a side note, the sighting happens to be the very first of the Travolta gang since they joyously announced that a new family member is on the way.

John Travolta and Kelly Preston have confirmed that they are expecting a a screaming human larva to be expelled from her uterus sometime in the late fall. Star Magazine says
“It?s impossible to keep a secret … especially one as wonderful as this,” the Travoltas wrote on their web site.
The Hollywood stars ? who suffered the devastating loss of their son, Jett, in 2009 ? are expecting a baby.
“Kelly is about three months pregnant,? an insider [says of] the 47-year-old actress, who?s also mom to 10-year-old Ella. “Both she and John are absolutely over the moon ? they knew in their hearts that the time was right for this to happen.?
I don’t know how a woman half a century old and a gay man go about making a baby, but you can bet your sweet bippy it wasn’t courtesy any penis-in-the-vagina action. I’m thinking more along the lines of lab coats and test tubes and organ music in an old stone castle on a dark and stormy night.
