Sometimes when a celebrity dad talks about his kids, I?m able to get a perfect image of what the dude is like as a father. Whenever I think of Johnny Depp?s parenting skills, the image I get is of Depp, on the floor, covered in Pink scarves, giving voice to his daughter?s Barbie dolls in some French chateau. When I think of Brad Pitt with his kids, I imagine Brad as overextended, exhausted, and trying to curl up and take a nap when he puts the twins down. And whenever I think of Ben Affleck with his kids, this is pretty much what it looks like. Ben being casually strangled by little arms, trying to do something on his phone, eyeing the paparazzi. Anyway, these are new photos of Ben, Violet and Seraphina at Cheryl Fudge?s Fashion Camp. Yes, daddy took his girls to FASHION CAMP!
Ben Affleck is a dad on duty! In Santa Monica, Calif. on Sunday, the 39-year-old dapper dad of three enjoyed a day of girlie activities at Cheryl Fudge’s Fashion Camp with Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3; son Samuel, 4 months, stayed at home.
The trio got in some quality daddy-daughter time while putting together customized eco-friendly clothing ensembles in Fudge’s California-based shop. Affleck made sure to document all the creative construction for mom, Jennifer Garner, who was also absent from the outing.
In addition to playing chaperone and photographer, the actor also stood in as transportation, giving little both Violet and Seraphina alternating piggyback rides.
With Father’s Day just a week away, there’s no doubting that Garner, 40, and their brood will have something special in store for the rock star dad. For Mother’s Day, Affleck posted a video thanking both his mom and his wife, who he called “an incredible, spectacular, world-class mom.”
It’s no secret that he and the Odd Life of Timothy Green actress make quite the team. In April, Garner accepted the Female Star of the Year award at CinemaCon, despite her mom telling her that she’s always “breastfeeding or running a car pool — not acting!”
Garner’s response to her mom’s words: “I said it’s not all about the now, it’s things you’ve done in the past or in the future, and she was like, ‘Honey, you have a weird job.’”

I wonder if Ben is just biding his time until his son gets old enough so they can do ?boy things? together. Red Sox games, T-ball, etc. I know Violet is a little athlete too – hopefully, Ben and Jennifer aren?t entrenched in old-fashioned gender roles for their kids. Meaning that I hope Ben takes his girls to baseball games too, and not just to FASHION CAMP! But these are cute photos – I don?t think I ever realized that Seraphina is a little badass. Look at her outfit!

Out grabbing some crafting supplies in Beverly Hills, Jennifer Garner and her daughter Violet Affleck made a quick stop at Color Me Mine in Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday afternoon (May 29).
The ?Daredevil? beauty showed some leg for summer in a flirty summer dress and denim jacket while her oldest daughter took after mom looking absolutely adorable in a floral print summer dress paired with a bright purple flower purse.
Ben Affleck's came to meet his girls later on in the day to pick them up from their retail romp and make a quick trip to the bank.
In other family news, X17 Online has released what they claim to be the first photos of the happy couple's three-month-old son Samuel.
In the photo, which was allegedly taken over Memorial Day weekend in their Pacific Palisades neighborhood, the little one?s face is being slightly covered by a blanket while being pushed in his stroller but shows his adorable features including lips that resemble his famous mother.

It was a family affair as Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck watched their daughter Violet earn a yellow belt at her karate class in Santa Monica, CA on Friday afternoon (May 11).
The darling 6-year-old was also joined by Grandma and Grandpa Garner while she held on to her daddy?s hand as the group made their way to their rides.
In personal news, ?The Town? actor paid a special Mother?s Day tribute to his wife of seven years through a video, which he shared on his Facebook.
"I want to say Happy Mother's Day to all the moms in my life--my mom, Chris, and my amazing wife, Jennifer, who is an incredible, spectacular, world-class mom, and I want to thank her," he said.
"And I want to say Happy Mother's Day to all the moms I've met in the Democratic Republic of Congo who are on this video that I hope you watch," he continued. "I urge you to share it, to post it to Facebook, to celebrate all the moms in the world, including the ones in your life, as well as those out there in the world working at the very hardest job there is every single day."

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are still glowing over the birth of their third child (and first son), Samuel Garner Affleck. Sam was born in late February, and since then, Jennifer has made some public outings and such, but these photos are some of the first I?ve seen of Ben and Jen together since Sam was born. During Jennifer?s pregnancy, Ben was uncharacteristically and publicly affectionate with Jen, which led some people to think that he was and is super-happy to finally ?get the boy.? These photos are of Ben and Jen leaving a doctor?s office in Santa Monica yesterday – probably just a checkup for her, I?m guessing. It?s nice that Ben is still being attentive to her.
As I was looking through these photos, it struck me – is Ben wearing one of Jennifer?s sweaters? One, I?m pretty sure I?ve seen Jennifer wear this particular sweater. Two, I?m pretty sure this is a woman?s sweater. And three, it does not look good on Ben, nor does it fit him. Does Ben realize he?s wearing a woman?s sweater? Unknown.
CB mentioned that she loves Ben?s new haircut and his salt-and-pepper beard. He had a big, bushy, 1970s beard while he was filming (and directing!) Argo, and it looks like he?s keeping some kind of facial hair for now, but he?s just keeping a more trimmed look. As for his haircut? I?m kind of meh on it. I prefer this to the 1970s shag he was rocking, but this isn?t my favorite.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have welcomed their third child together, a boy! I’m surprised that Garner had her baby, as I honestly thought she had a couple more weeks left to go. She’s been looking ready for some time, though. This is the third child for the Afflecks. They also have two daughters together: Seraphina, 3, and Violet, 6. It’s thought that dad Ben was hoping for a son, although Jennifer has said that he seemed open to another daughter, too. There’s no word yet as to the baby’s name. Here’s more, from US Weekly:

Announcing her pregnancy in August 2011, Garner, 39, managed to stay mum on the gender of her family’s third baby, and while she admitted she’d be thrilled to have another girl, said Affleck was excited either way.
“I would have thought [he wanted a boy]. At first…I really thought so,” the Arthur actress told Jay Leno in January. “And then [Ben] kind of said, ‘Well, we have girls. We know how to do girls. My girls love me. I’m the big guy in the house.’ So, now I’m not sure.”

Aw, congratulations to Jennifer and Ben on their new arrival! They’re one of my favorite Hollywood couples and they seem so solid lately. Their girls have such nice names that are unique without sounding too experimental or strange. I bet they’ll go with a traditional name for their boy, but we’ll see. I’m actually excited to hear what they named the little guy.

With their brood continuing to expand, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are proud parents for the third time!
The "New Year's Eve" actress and her "The Town" actor hubby welcomed a baby boy in Santa Monica, CA, the couple's rep confirms.
The bundle of joy is Ben and Jen's first male offspring, as the pair are already parents to two adorable daughters, Violet and Seraphina.
"It would be so weird to have a boy," Garner said a few months back on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show," while Ben had said after Seraphina's birth that the three-to-one female to male ratio left him "significantly outnumbered". Looks like Ben's situation just got a bit more evened out.

Actor/director Ben Affleck has joined Facebook, partially to raise awareness for his new Eastern Congo Initiative nonprofit. I had the eye-opening experience of seeing Ben Affleck’s “Nightline” special in 2008, in which he made his third trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo to see the terrible effects of war on the Eastern Congolese people. The atrocities that Ben heard about were unbelievable, and you could see how much it moved him and how surprised he was that there were people who could do such horrible things. Ben has since gone to the Congo several more times, he shot a short documentary there that he premiered at the UN, he’s written an essay for Time, and he founded the Eastern Congo Initiative in 2010. He told People that he wants to make a difference in the world now that he has children:
The actor, 39, founded the Eastern Congo Initiative in 2010 and recently got back from his eighth trip to the war-torn region. Affleck says it’s his kids, Violet, 6 and Seraphina, 3, who inspire him to do good in the world.
“I got to a point in my life where I felt like I had been very fortunate,” Affleck tells PEOPLE in an interview for the Feb. 27 issue, on newsstands now.
“And I wanted to do something more with my life than just make movies and try to make money. I wanted to do something that was important to me in other ways and would serve as an example to my kids.”
Wednesday, Affleck launched a Facebook timeline to share pictures and stories from his trips to Africa. His nonprofit helps support Congolese-led organizations helping to rebuild the region, from groups aiding former child soldiers to those supplying health care to the most vulnerable.
“The people there are working as hard as they can to make their lives better,” says Affleck. “And that’s inspiring.”
As for his own kids, Affleck says he shows them where he’s going on a map when he travels to Africa. Says the actor: “I tell them it’s important to be involved in the world in ways that help others and not just yourself.”

I’m so impressed by Ben’s commitment to this cause, and it seems like he’s genuinely concerned and has done a lot of hard work behind the scenes. This guy used to be persona non grata in Hollywood post Bennifer, but he put his head down and emerged better for it. He could have done so much more to rehab his image, but he seemed more concerned about becoming a better person and that has made all the difference.
Ben’s wife Jennifer looks like she’s due any day now. I have to admit I’m excited to see whether she’ll have a boy or a girl. Either way, Ben will be surely thrilled.
In a very superficial side note, do you guys like the new Facebook “timeline” format? I don’t, and I usually try to embrace change but it just seems distracting and harder to follow to me. I like things that are linear, and “timeline” should be, but it fills the page with photos and different features and it’s hard to tell what’s new. Still, it’s good to see Ben on Facebook.

These are just some adorable photos of Ben Affleck, a very pregnant Jennifer Garner (she’s shown below, that’s the nanny above) and their girls Violet, six, and Seraphina, almost three. The girls set up a lemonade stand outside their mansion and sold drinks to the public. They even sold them to the paparazzi!
Here’s the description from the photo agency, Fame. It’s worded strangely but you get the point:
Violet and her little sister Seraphina Affleck took to their driveway in the Pacific Palisades, California to sell sweet drinks from their homemade lemonade stand on December 27, 2011 with the help of their nanny. Their mother a very pregnant Jennifer Garner bought a cup herself along with her mother and shortly after dad Ben Affleck came out in sweatpants to help get the girls more customers. Ben asked a few of the surrounding photographers if they would like to buy a glass that a few did enjoy from the girls
I think the lemonade stand is a metaphor for how Garner deals with photographers. She knows they’re there and she’s learned to go with it and maximize the cuteness while Ben is not entirely on board. She surely stages some photo ops, but I still don’t believe that every paparazzi outing with this family is orchestrated. I could be wrong, who knows. I give her the benefit of the doubt because she seems normal. (You’ve probably heard me discuss this before about them, it’s my go-to topic with the Garner-Afflecks.)
Garner is looking like she’s due any day now. She might very well be. She made the announcement of her pregnancy back in late August, and if she was four months along at that time she would be eight months now. It’s possible she was even further along in August and wasn’t showing that much. So the Afflecks are going to welcome another little one soon. I’m wondering if they’ll have another girl or if they’re going to have that boy that Ben is rumored to want.
The family is shown with their nanny, and I’m pretty sure it’s the same one Garner gave a shout out to on Jimmy Kimmel earlier this year. Garner’s mom is also there.
Those girls are just so sweet and cute. Seeing them makes me want to have another kid. Look at Seraphina’s bunny slippers! That sign just slays me.

Picking up a few last minute presents, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were spotted doing some Christmas Eve (December 24) shopping at Limonade in Santa Monica with daughters Violet and Seraphina.
Going super casual for the holiday retail romp, the famous family of four strapped on their sneakers for their afternoon gift-buying on the go.
In career news, the expectant momma Jen has a busy 2012 ahead of her, as she's set to star in the "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" with castmate/rapper Common.
Under the direction of Peter Hedges, the comedy/drama centers on a "childless couple who bury a box in their backyard, containing all of their wishes for an infant. Soon, a child is born, though Timothy Green is not all that he appears."

I can barely believe my eyes. Ben Affleck, looking like he enjoys being with his wife and oldest daughter? Ben Affleck being openly affectionate and lovey-dovey with his wife IN PUBLIC? Ben Affleck not being surly when the paparazzi are around? Who are you, Ben Affleck?!? I thought I knew you!
So these are new photos of Ben, Jen and Violet in LA yesterday. Jennifer is ??? God knows how many months pregnant. This pregnancy seems to be much more low-key than her two previous pregnancies – there are still lots of photos of Jennifer and the girls, but she?s taken it down a notch and they?re not getting photographed on a daily basis at this point. This isn?t even the first time (during this pregnancy) where Ben Affleck seems to be enjoying some face-time with his family, although this New Affleck (Affleck 2.0: The Loving Father & Husband Version) has never, in my memory, been so cutesy with his wife. Yes, he?ll hold her hand, but it usually comes with a scowl. I kind of like this new Ben. I wish I could see them like this more often. Usually, whenever the paparazzi are shooting Ben and his family, Ben almost always looks like he wants to curl up and die.
So why does Ben seem so affectionate? Is it just because his lovely wife is preggo and Ben is just trying to be a better dude? Is it because Ben might finally be getting his longed-for son? Jennifer is reportedly pregnant with a son this time, so maybe Ben is just excited about all of the ball games and boy things he?ll be sharing with his son. Or is there another, sketchier reason? Remember how Ben?s name was mentioned often in all of those reports about those high-stakes, underground poker games in Hollywood? Tobey Maguire just settled in one of lawsuits stemming from the games. But I?m sure that?s nothing. It?s just a coincidence!
