Jennifer Garner has finally given birth to her second child with Ben Affleck. The baby girl was born on Tuesday and both mother and baby are doing well. The baby’s name has not been released to the public yet, but we should be hearing soon.
With Violet Affleck, their three-year-old, voted the cutest celebrity baby several times, magazines are certainly going to be clamoring to get the first shots of her little sister. The Afflecks didn’t sell the first photographs of Violet to a celebrity magazine, so it’s doubtful they’ll be posing for photos with their second child. They didn’t even officially announce the pregancy until it was obvious.
Garner confirmed the pregnancy in August after joking, “Oh, I’m not pregnant. I just had a lot of carbs for breakfast. It’s just - what do they call it - a breakfast pouch.”
“It always makes me laugh when people say ‘Is she?’ ‘Isn’t she?’ It’s like eventually you will know, so just chill out for a minute,” she said in the interview with Access Hollywood, adding: “We’re so excited, obviously.”

This family seems so normal. Although they haven’t been hitting the red carpet lately, with Jennifer focusing on being a mom and Ben directing rather than acting, it may be their outwardly perfect life that has kept them in the tabloids. That and the adorable Violet.

Adding to the family, Jennifer Garner and husband Ben Affleck welcomed their second daughter into the world on Tuesday (January 6).
Of the oh-so-happy moment, the “Juno” actress’s rep simply stated: “Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck gave birth to a healthy baby girl.”

With Jen dressed in black and trying to shield herself by standing behind her “Good Will Hunting” hubby, the twosome quickly made their way from the parking garage and into the hospital entrance.

Gossips are speculating on a New Year?s baby for Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck. Although neither Ben nor Jen has confirmed their second child?s due date, from all appearances, Garner looks to be due any day now. Affleck and Garner checked into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center this morning, OK! Magazine is reporting.
She’s been looking ready to pop for weeks, and now sources are telling OK! that Jennifer Garner paid a visit to an L.A. hospital on Wednesday, New Years Eve.
Jen, who’s expecting her second child with husband Ben Affleck (daughter Violet is 2), arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center this morning holding protectively to her hubby’s arm. Could this just be a doctor’s visit or will the Afflecks be celebrating more than the dawn of a new year?

Daughter Violet just turned three years old in December, and always seems like the happiest, most joyful tot in all of Hollywood. Ben and Jen confirmed her pregnancy through her old Alias friend Victor Garbor this past summer. They haven?t confirmed the sex of the baby, or maybe they didn?t want to know. Considering Jen has looked ready to pop for about a month, chances are good that a New Year?s baby is on it?s way.

Looking more and more like she’s ready to pop every day, Jennifer Garner was spotted heading into a Los Angeles hospital with her husband Ben Affleck earlier today (December 31).
The “Catch and Release” babe looked a bit uncomfortable despite her baggy casual ensemble, including a loose-fitting blue sweater and some relaxed fit jeans.

Several months ago, Ben Affleck traveled to the Democratic Republic of Congo to bear witness to the tremendous humanitarian catastrophe unfolding. The United Nations has some resources on the ground, but nowhere near enough to take in the millions of refugees displaced by ?civil? war.
While there, Affleck shot footage for a very short documentary titled Gimme Shelter that he premiered at the United Nations? New York headquarters on Wednesday. The event was sponsered by the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR), for which Angelina Jolie has been a special goodwill ambassador since 2001. After Gimme Shelter was screened, Affleck took questions.
Affleck, 36, says he made the short [documentary] “in order to focus attention on the humanitarian crisis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) at a time when too much of the world is indifferent or looking the other way.”
“We step up when these terrible crises occur,” said Affleck, who has visited the DRC four times in the last year and held discussions with leaders on all sides of the conflict including warlords, peacemakers, activists and government officials.
“I’ve had to be really judicious,” he said. “I got exposed to really smart people. [I've had] to give myself a kind of great post-graduate education.”
Affleck noted that organizations like the UNHCR need more funding in light of the financial crisis, and also urged increased diplomacy in the region. “Diplomacy won’t cost us anything,” he said.
He also joked about the UN Refugee Agency’s most visible spokesperson, Angelina Jolie: “UNHCR needs to find a Goodwill Ambassador who can get some sort of press attention,” Affleck said to laughs from the audience.
According to the U.N., more than 5.4 million people have died in the conflict, with millions more displaced from their homes.

The Congolese genocide/civil war was picked as one of the top-ten most under-reported stories of the year by Time Magazine. But you could say that about nearly every story coming out of Africa - the Sudanese genocide, the civil unrest in Kenya, the cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe, the hyperinflation of Zimbabwe, the plague of war crimes, the failed state of Somalia, the environmental disasters, and on and on. All are under-reported, and I applaud Affleck for doing his part to bring more attention to a situation that too often gets crowded out of the headlines. And I really do think he meant his Jolie joke in a nice way.
