Making the most of the free time in his schedule, Ben Affleck spent quality time with his daughters Violet and Seraphina in Pacific Palisades on Sunday (November 24).
The "Argo" star dressed in dark jeans, a gray sweater with shades as he and the adorable girls enjoyed delicious pizza and snacks after attending Violet's basketball game.
As previously reported by GossipCenter, actor Christian Bale revealed his excitement for Ben as he takes on the role as the new Batman.
"I wish him all the best. He's a very experienced actor and filmmaker and he'll make it his own. Our thing's finished, we've always declared it was finished and it should be passed on to another actor and it will be again after him."
In regards to offering a little piece of advice, Mr. Bale stated, "The only thing I said to him is just make sure he can take a piss without anyone having to help him. Because it's a little bit humiliating, at least what I went through, when you have to have someone help you out of the costume."

She?s married to one of the biggest Boston Red Sox fans in the world, so life for Jennifer Garner has been a bit hectic since the start of the MLB World Series.
During her interview on ? Jimmy Kimmel Live,? the ?Dallas Buyers Club? chick confessed that she and Ben Affleck are doing everything they can to help their team take home the title.
Garner began, ?The Red Sox [game], that?s really all that?s happening at my house right now. I don?t know if the kids are being fed, Trick-or-Treat may be cancelled if there is a Game 7? You can?t not fall for the Red Sox.?
?Once you get into the playoffs, it?s a little bit like, ?Okay wait, somebody just made an error so now I have to change where I?m sitting on the couch,? and, ?Oh, you had a hot dog at this time in the game yesterday, so now we can?t?? You know, it?s a little bit ridiculous.?

If you were worried about Ben Affleck being cast as the new Batman, let me assuage some of those fears for you. He at least has the physical part down. Dude looks ripped. Here he is picking up his daughter from school. Guy is so buff he probably even carried her backpack for her.

| Ben Affleck & Justin Timberlake's 'Runner, Runner' bombed: hilarious or sad' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Did you go to see Runner, Runner this weekend? Probably not. The big story for this weekend?s box office was the domination of Gravity. I was expecting Gravity to do well ? the critical praise for the film was universal ? but I didn?t think it would do as well as it did. Gravity made $55.6 million in North America this weekend, mostly because of the boost it got from IMAX and 3D theaters. So, good news for Sandra Bullock, who is still the reigning box office champion time after time. She?s having a great year ? The Heat was a box office success as well. Basically, I?m saying that if Sandra wants an Oscar nomination this year for Gravity (and probably a Golden Globe nomination for The Heat), all she has to do is show up.
But for me, the more interesting story is Runner, Runner and how Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake barely promoted it and how it couldn?t even break $10 million even though it was playing in 3000 theaters. It?s easy enough to blame this mess on Justin, mostly because HE was ?the star? and Hollywood just won?t admit that the boy can?t act whatsoever. But let?s give Ben Affleck some blame too. This was the first ?Ben Affleck movie? to come out since he won the Oscar for Argo. THIS is how he followed up his Oscar. These are the kind of career decisions that lead to Gigli and Jersey Girl. No joke. And this is dude who will be Batman? HA.
Here are some photos of Justin playing golf this weekend. So much for shilling his new movie. Attention to producers: this is what you get when you hire Justin Timberlake. Not only is he a terrible actor, but he?s also awful at standing up and promoting his work. So why are you still hiring him?!

He was the darling of the movie industry following the release of ?Argo,? and then all of a sudden Ben Affleck found himself on the receiving end of some serious backlash due to his appointment to the role of Batman in the ?Man of Steel? sequel.
Still, the ?Good Will Hunting? hunk has a great attitude, as evidenced by his remarks on ?Late Night with Jimmy Fallon? last night (September 16).
Affleck began, "I'm a big boy. If I can handle an Oscar snub, I can handle anything. The people from the studio said, 'We want to talk to you because people go through this process and it can be a little trying.??
"They said, 'We want to show you some of the reactions that past cast members have got on the internet'. I saw the announcement, I look at the first comment and it's like, 'Ben Affleck is going to be Batman' and the first one goes, 'Noooooooo!'"
"I thought, 'I'm not 25 man and are you sure about this?' And they said, 'Come down, we want to show you what we're doing,' and it was incredible."

We’ve been hearing rumors for weeks about casting for the new Batman: Man of Steel sequel. It’s a Warner Brothers Batman vs. Superman film featuring current Superman star Henry Cavill and directed by Zack Snyder. The list of contenders for Batman was long and included Gerard Butler, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Joe Manganiello, Jude Law and Jon Hamm. Ben Affleck’s name was floating around somewhere, but I honestly thought that he didn’t have a chance. After all, didn’t he already do a superhero movie that wasn’t well received? It turns out that it doesn’t matter because Affleck has been announced as the new Batman. I doubt he can fill Christian Bale’s shoes, but I guess we’ll see. Here’s the announcement from Variety:
The actor will replace Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming untitled Batman-Superman feature for Warner Bros., the studio announced Thursday.
Affleck becomes the eighth actor to play the Caped Crusader, following Bale, George Clooney and Michael Keaton.
?We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics? most enduringly popular Super Heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some,? WB president Greg Silverman said in a statement.
Directed by ?Man of Steel? filmmaker Zack Snyder, the Batman-Superman feature will open worldwide on July 17, 2015, with Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and Diane Lane reprising their roles.
?Man of Steel,? released this past June, has earned over $650 million at the global box office.
?Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry?s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne,? Snyder said in a statement. ?I can?t wait to work with him.?
[From Variety]
Variety goes on to say that “at one point Warner Bros. was interested in having Affleck direct the ‘Justice League’ movie and his participation in this film will now spur interest if whether his casting means a possibility of directing that film.” However, Affleck denied the rumors that he had been approached to direct the Justice League movie. Maybe he was playing coy.
I don’t know anyone who finds Affleck to be an “extraordinary actor” with “acting chops,” but perhaps there’s that perception of him in the industry. The Town and Argo were excellent, but that was down to Affleck’s directorial skill, not his acting at all. He’s definitely decent at “stoic” and “broody,” so maybe he’ll do the role some justice. Or maybe he’ll be a one-off like Clooney.
I’m confused by Affleck’s career trajectory, however. Wasn’t he aiming for an actor/director career? He just won the Oscar for best picture and now he’s going back to being an action hero. That already turned out poorly for him.
Here’s a very amusing image of a potential Robin, thanks to Schultzybaby on reddit.

Because 10 years is clearly enough time to get overDaredevil, WB has announced that Ben Affleck will play Batman in theMan of Steel sequel. You may now commence clawing out your eyes.
Ben Affleck will join Henry Cavill in Warner Bros.? Man of Steel sequel, the studio announced on Thursday.
The project was announced at Comic-Con earlier this year, prompting much speculation surrounding who would play the caped crusader. Zack Snyder is back in the director?s chair for the project, which places Batman and Superman together on the big screen for the first time.
The film is slated to open worldwide on July 17, 2015.
Hey, Affleck has had some good movies lately.Argo… uhh,The Town to a certain extent but those were all roles built for him. Roles with just enough camp that you don’t have to take him seriously. This Batman thing, however. This is terrible casting.
Can you imagine Ben Affleck appearing out of the darkness behind someone and saying, “I’m Batman.” I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t even need to punch the guy because the uncontrollable laughter that follows will work just as well.

| Ben Affleck & Jennifer had their 8th anniversary at Parrot Cay, where they were married | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were married in a romantic beach ceremony at Parrot Cay in Turks & Caicos on June 29, 2005. Jennifer was four months pregnant with their oldest child, and their friend Victor Garber officiated. A lot of people threw shade on Jennifer for somehow “trapping” Ben by getting pregnant, which I thought was unfair. She got pregnant and then they got married. We’re not living in the 50s anymore, many couples do it that way. I’m sure the wedding was Ben’s choice, and that Jennifer would have stayed with him without a ring. She just seems loyal like that, and we know that Ben has no problems backing out of weddings.
Fast forward eight years and two more kids later and these two are still together. We’ve sort-of witnessed them falter, and we’ve heard Ben clumsily acknowledge their issues in ways that were not always kind to his wife. (They’ve been married eight years and yet he referenced working with her for “10 Christmases” during his Oscar acceptance speech. It’s like he’s ticking off the time on the wall.) I think Ben realizes what he has though, and perhaps has a new appreciation for his family. This latest story, that Ben and Jen went back to Parrot Cay for a family vacation on their eighth anniversary, kind of warms my heart.
Ben Affleck took Jennifer Garner on a sentimental journey for their eigth anniversary. While in her Charleston, West Virginia, hometown for 16 month-old Samuel’s baptism, they ate at her favorite pizza joining on their big day, June 29. Then the actor, 40, whisked Garner, 41, and their three kids on a jet to Turks and Caicos July 1. “They spent a week at Parrot Cay,” says a source, “right where their wedding was.”
[From US Magazine, print edition, July 29, 2013]
I like how these two went to the Caribbean for a week with their kids and we’re only hearing about it now. In other words there are no photos. They just went silent for a while, there were no announcements made, and now they’re back in LA doing their thing. They should work more on laying low like that, although I think that the paparazzi just always follow them whenever they’re at home.

| Ben Affleck is thrilled to get an honorary doctorate from Brown | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

These are some supercute photos of Ben Affleck accepting an honorary doctorate degree from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island over the weekend. (The same prestigious Ivy League school that Emma Watson may eventually graduate from.) We don’t have much of a story to go along with these, except for a little quip Ben made when he accepted his degree. According to PopSugar, the graduates in attendance were shouting “speech” and Ben joked “This is a spectacular honor for me. Not only for the education, but now I surpass Matt Damon.” Not in acting ability, but maybe as a director.
Ben did not have a bachelor’s degree prior to this, and neither did Matt. Ben dropped out of Occidental College in LA and the University of Vermont while Matt is a Harvard dropout. It only seems to be a matter of time before someone confers an honorary doctorate on Damon too. (I just saw “Behind the Candelabra” and am feeling a little competitive for Damon. He was amazing in that film.)
The other five honorary doctorate degrees given by Brown this year were to “author and MIT Professor Junot Diaz; retired Stanford University bacteriologist Stanley Falkow; Tougaloo College President Beverly Wade Hogan; medical doctor and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation President Risa Lavizzo-Mourey; and Miami Dade College President Eduardo Padron.”
Anyway congratulations to Ben! He has his Oscar for Best Picture, and now he can add “Dr.” in front of his name too.
