Taking advantage of his time in the Big Apple, Brad Pitt was spotted out to dinner with some friends in New York City last night (September 24).
The “Fight Club” stud looked cool and casual in a grey button-up top with matching trousers as he gave a quick smile to the paparazzi before heading out.
Earlier in the day, Brad gave a speech at the Fifth Annual Meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative at the Sheraton Hotel, updating everyone on the Make It Right Foundation’s rebuilding progress in New Orleans.
Pitt said, “I don’t know how we build any other way anywhere else. We can no longer tell ourselves that implementing this technology is too complex a problem because it’s just been proven on this little spot on the map.”

It’s no secret that Brad Pitt has plenty of money - and he loves spending it.
The stud actor is reported to be trying to buy property around his and Angelina Jolie’s French estate, Chateau Miraval, to construct an airport so the family can just fly in with no cameras or paparazzi.
The couple already spent $60 million for 1,000 acres in the South of France which includes 35 bedrooms, a vineyard, lake, forest and a moat.
“One thing he loves about the estate is the privacy it affords,” a source gushed. “Nobody can get near it. So with Angelina completing her pilot’s license, their own airstrip would give them total freedom to come and go.”

We don?t have access to these great new pictures, but if like seeing the Jolie-Pitt kids, you should definitely check these out. Angelina took Zahara, Pax and Shiloh out to the Toys ?R? Us in the south of France (who knew there was a Toys ?R? Us there?). People are already analyzing in great depth Shiloh?s missing front tooth - she?s 3 years old, which does seem young to start loosing teeth. Perhaps Shiloh and Empress Zahara got into a big fight, and Zahara clocked her? Or perhaps Shiloh is just knocked out her own front tooth with that epically awesome sword she?s carrying.
Zahara looks like she?s turning out to be the great beauty of the family, and she?s wearing a little purple peasant skirt and white tank. Too cute. Meanwhile, I think Shiloh decided to dress up like some kind of? pirate? She has that sword, a hat and a ?f-ck off and die? look on her face. Awesome. I love generational bitchface. Pax looks cute too - he got a haircut, and he looks like a sweetheart. He?s missing one of his front teeth too!
In one other little piece of Jolie-Pitt news, does anyone remember the weird rumor floating around last month that Brad Pitt was called in to film some emergency scenes for Guy Ritchie?s Sherlock Holmes? Within a day, the rumors were denied, but they still struck me as totally odd. First, how even starts a rumor like that if there isn?t some kind of basis? Secondly, Guy and Brad are friends, and if Guy was going to turn to anyone for a little emergency stunt-casting, it would probably be Brad. Now the rumor mill has started up again, and Brad?s name is still being thrown around? this time for a possible Sherlock Holmes sequel:
Brad Pitt has been the subject of a whirlwind of internet rumors that would mystify Sherlock Holmes himself. The “Inglourious Basterds” star was pegged for a cameo as the nefarious Moriarty, the titular master detective’s arch-nemesis, in the Guy Ritchie-directed “Sherlock Holmes,” but denials from Warner Bros. and other official parties effectively squashed that rumor.
Do you think the real Moriarty would reveal his identity so easily? No, he’d confuse his pursuers with misdirection and false leads. But just like legends, a good rumor never dies.
The Hollywood Reporter is getting in on the rumor mill by suggesting that Brad Pitt has had discussions with producers to star as Moriarty in a potential “Sherlock Holmes” sequel. The report acknowledges the previous Pitt rumors, but states that “those familiar with the script say the character [of Moriarty] is in shadow and cannot be recognized,” verifying director Ritchie’s statement that the Holmes villain is slated for an appearance — just not with any specific actor in mind.
Perhaps more important than Pitt’s potential enlistment in a “Holmes” sequel is the very existence of a sequel itself. The Robert Downey Jr.-starring action-mystery-what-have-you flick doesn’t even hit theaters until December, and there are already active plans to turn the film into a franchise.
According to THR, screenwriters Kieran and Michele Mulroney have been hired to pen “Sherlock Holmes 2? for Warners. The screenwriting pair are also mentioned as the writers behind “Justice League: Mortal,” the WB’s defunct superhero team-up project. They also wrote and directed “Paper Man,” the Jeff Daniels and Ryan Reynolds-starring dramedy about a man accompanied by an imaginary superhero pal.
So, not only is Brad Pitt maybe-possibly starring in the “Holmes” franchise after all, but a sequel is actually being fast-tracked in advance of the initial film’s release. Seems a little early to be talking about “Sherlock Holmes 2? to me, when we don’t even know if the first movie is any good or not.

Maybe I?m completely off-base, but I kind of think Brad might have done some work on this first Sherlock Holmes film, due out this Christmas. I think it was supposed to be a surprise, and it got out, and the studio tried to shut it down. I?m not saying Brad filmed a bunch of scenes or anything - but if Guy Ritchie was smart about it, Brad could have done some voice work, and maybe one scene, the ?reveal? of Prof. Moriarity.

Looking snazzy in his suit, Brad Pitt steps attended a press conference and screening for his new movie, “Inglourious Basterds,” in Spain on Friday night (September 18).
Held at the Kursaal Palace, tyhe “Fight Club” stud donned a grey beard as he joined director Quentin Tarantio for a Q & A session before taking to teh red carpet and greeting his adoring fans at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
During the press conference, Pitt spoke about the excitement of working with Tarantino on the film - which saw its release in Spain today.
“It was really fun, just really fun,” he said. “When Tarantino is on set is energy. It’s really difficult to sleep on set when Tarantino is on. The set is a church and he is God, you always learn something from God.”

Here?s Brad Pitt arriving for the San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain. Quentin Tarantino is around too, but no word if any of the other stars from Inglourious Basterds will show up to promote the film. Brad?s still rocking the goatee - but it looks like he may be in the process of growing out a full beard, which might be pretty cool. I know a lot of women don?t care for this kind of scraggy facial hair mess, but I like it. I think guys should either be totally clean shaven, or just let their facial hair be messy. I hate when a bearded man is too groomed, it makes him appear fussy. My favorite messy beard? Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Now that is a who man can rock a scruffy strawberry-blonde beard. Mm?Messy facial hair makes me think of messy, dirty sex. I?m probably alone in that, but whatever. I likes what I likes.
The Daily Mail is claiming Brad left Angelina and the kids ?in France? but I?m not sure if that?s true. Angelina and the kids might still be on some kind of holiday in Africa, where they?ve been for more than a week. Last weekend, Angelina visited a refugee camp on the Kenyan border, and then she took Zahara and Shiloh to Ethiopia. Maybe they did go back to France though - I really don?t know. Speaking of Angelina?s refugee camp trip, most of the tabloids are running stories this week about how thin Angelina looked. According to various sources, Angelina has lost weight because of the strain of her relationship with Brad, et cetera. Blah, blah, something about gerbils:
Angelina Jolie’s weight has plunged dramatically - and worried friends blame the shocking weight loss on her unraveling relationship with Brad Pitt.
The 5-foot-7 actress is so stressed out that she’s eating very little, and now her weight is getting close to a pin-thin 100 pounds, according to an insider.
“Angelina is so skinny that you can see the bones. She needs to get help before she wastes away,” confided the insider.
The ENQUIRER first revealed the growing concern over Angelina’s weight in February when she plummeted to 110 pounds. Since then, she’s lost even more weight, said the insider.
The 34-year-old star’s emaciated-looking frame shocked bystanders when she visited a border camp of Somali refugees in Kenya on Sept. 12 in her role as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations.
“Angelina was speaking to refugees who fight starvation every day, yet she looked as thin as many of them,” said the insider. “She was doing an amazing job, as usual, but her friends have noticed sadness in her recently as she struggles to keep her relationship with Brad together. She hardly eats anything.?
“It seems as if they fight all the time. Brad has walked out a number of times, and they were even sleeping in separate beds for a while. It’s like the more Brad pulls away from her, the more weight she loses.”

Meh. She looked very thin in the pictures on the UNHCR site, but Angelina is always losing and gaining weight. I think she?s the opposite of a stress-eater, or someone who eats when they?re bored. I think that when things get busy in her life, she doesn?t eat. My other theory is that her body goes haywire after she gives birth, and she loses weight really rapidly. It was around Shiloh?s first birthday that Angelina got drastically thin - and now it?s happened again around the twins? first birthday. Or maybe I?m wrong, and her thin frame is about bad stuff between her and Brad. Could be. Or maybe the gerbils told her to go on a diet. That?s it! It must have been the gerbils.

He’s a well-versed world traveler, and earlier today (September 18) Brad Pitt was spotted arriving in San Sebastian, Spain.
The “Fight Club” stud looked a bit bushy as he posed for the paparazzi outsid eth Maria Cristina Hotel, in town for the 57th San Sebastian International Film Festival.
Hiding behind a pair of dark sunglasses, Brad gave a coy smile while sporting a black leather jacket overtop a grey shirt with distressed jeans and black shoes.
While he’s in San Sebastian, Pitt will be promoting his WWII flick “Inglourious Basterds” along with director Quentin Tarantino.

Remember how Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and the kids all went shopping for gerbils a couple of weeks ago? Remember how everyone freaked out? Like, Brad and Angelina were either the devil incarnate because they were shopping for gerbils of doom, or they were, like, freeing the oppressed gerbils from some ghastly gerbil-slavery or something? It really was that either-or. It was pretty funny. Well, we have a great update on the gerbils of doom story! It seems Brad Pitt got tired of dressing up like Hermione Granger (you know Angelina makes him), and he decided to do something special for the victimized gerbils. This is according to The Sun and here goes: Brad Pitt laid out more than $75,000 on a specially-designed, custom-made, ?complex? gerbil run! The Sun refers to it as a ?bespoke run? and they describe it as ?a maze of tunnels, seesaws and platforms.?
ARCHITECTURE fanatic Brad Pitt has spent 50,000 building a bespoke run - for his children’s gerbils.
The Hollywood heavyweight is fascinated by design and construction and personally oversaw every step of the project at his family’s French estate.
It features a maze of tunnels, seesaws and platforms which makes the rodents the most pampered vermin on the planet.
In 2005 the Inglourious Basterds star had an informal apprenticeship with Frank Gehry - one of the world’s top architects.
Brad helped design a development for the seafront in Hove, East Sussex, but it has not been built.
A source said: “Brad pores over architectural journals like other people pore over newspapers. He had so much fun putting the run together with his kids MADDOX, ZAHARA, SHILOH and PAX.
“It’s incredibly complex and cost a lot but Brad’s more than happy with any activity that can combine his two passions - his kids and architecture.”

If this is true, Brad needs a good smack to the head. What kind of fool spends that kind of money on gerbils? Seriously, it?s not like it?s for a horse, or a dog or something. Do gerbils need to be pampered? I?m sure if the gerbils could speak, they would say that they would prefer the money be spent on really great gerbil food. And maybe some gerbil hookers and gerbil blow. Maybe a really good gerbil deep-tissue massage? I also enjoyed the subtle jab at Brad?s architectural stuff - he?s ?had an informal apprenticeship with Frank Gehry? but now he?s just jerking off to blueprints for a gerbil run. Someone please show Brad another house he can buy and renovate into oblivion, he desperately needs a new project.

Brad Pitt left the south of France yesterday to go on some kind of charitable/sightseeing trip to Spain. Brad visited the urban renewal site designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer in Aviles, in northern Spain (see photos here). He took a formal tour of the project with several architects, and the Alives mayor gave some nice quotes about Brad?s visit to the press:
Brad Pitt, who is taking part in a project to rebuild Hurricane Katrina-scarred New Orleans, toured the site where the Oscar Niemyer Cultural Centre, Aviles mayor Pilar Varela said. He went round with a group of architects on Sunday.
“He is interested in supporting the project, the cultural as well as the architectural aspects,” Varela told reporters.
The building is being erected in a port area in what was the centre of the city’s steel industry in the 1950s before it fell into decline.
It will feature an auditorium, a sight-seeing tower, an exhibition centre and a large outdoor square that will serve as a venue for cultural activities when it opens in 2010.
Local officials hope it will revive Aviles the way the opening of the Frank Gehry-designed Guggenheim museum helped transform the Basque city of Bilbao from a rusty industrial backwater into a cultural capital over a decade ago.
Pitt was especially interested in the aspects of the project aimed at boosting environmental sustainability, said Varela.
“This is why Brad Pitt has came to visit the site,” she said, adding it was too soon to say how the star of Quentin Tarantino’s latest release, “Inglourious Basterds”, would participate in the project.
Pitt’s “Make It Right Project” calls for 150 homes to be built in the area of New Orleans where levees broke, and floodwater pushed homes from their foundations, when Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005.
Niemeyer’s most famous works include Brazil’s futuristic capital city Brasilia and his flying saucer-shaped museum in Niteroi, just across the bay from Rio de Janeiro.

Meanwhile, the tabloids are still ringing the bell for a Brangelina split, of course. On Friday, we covered In Touch Weekly?s version, and I just read Star Magazine?s version, which is strikingly similar. A lot of stuff based on Brad saying ?the greater the love, the greater the loss? - which seems to be the siren call of split stories. A family insider told Star Magazine, ?Brad told Angelina point-blank that love is not forever. Brad said he knows that they will always be connected because of the children but that he isn?t sure that things will work between them in the long run.? Star?s source also claims Angelina is ?desperate? to work on their relationship, and that she?s persuaded Brad to start over. The article goes on to say that their French estate is a good place for them to reconnect (difficult if Brad is in Spain, but whatever), and from what their neighbors hear, ?they are not shouting or arguing.? Nosy neighbors, eh?
Also, I finally read the full text of last week?s OK! Magazine cover story about Brad ?sleeping on the couch? in France because he and Angelina are fighting all the time. There are a few more interesting pieces of information that weren?t included in the online version. One of Brad and Angelina?s recurring fights seems to be about her father, Jon Voight. I?ve read before that Brad has been pushing Angelina to reconnect with her dad, but in most of Angelina?s recent interviews, she hedges on the question of whether she and her dad really talk, or if they check in with each other, that sort of stuff.
OK!?s source claims, ?Brad risked alienating Angie by insisting she let go of old resentments and get back on speaking terms with Jon? Brad wants his kids to know their grandfather and bond with him.? After making some half-hearted efforts, Angelina has ?vowed to make good on her mom?s dying wish that Jon make amends? for the $180,000 worth of back child support owed to Marcheline Bertrand. For Angelina, it?s ?the principle that matters.? The part about the back child support is true- it was in Marcheline?s will. And I don?t blame Angelina for standing on principle about it, either. That?s a lot of money to owe in back child support.
What I don?t buy is that Brad is trying to push Angelina into any kind of relationship with Jon Voight. That man just gets crazier and crazier, and I think that even Brad realizes that just because he has a close relationship with his parents, doesn?t mean everyone should and can. Voight?s latest controversy was his appearance on Mike Huckabee?s Fox News show over the weekend. I don?t even want to quote him, he?s so f-cking delusional. Just watch the crazy eyes and tell me if you would let him around your children.

Always willing to lend a helping hand, Brad Pitt was spotted out earlier today (August 31) in Aviles, Spain visiting the future site of the Oscar Niemeyer International Cultural Centre.
The “Mr and Mrs Smith” stud is in Spain to discuss the details of the future project, which is scheduled to launch in mid-2010.
The mayor of Avils, Pilar Varela told press, “Brad is interested in supporting the project, both in cultural and architectural aspects. He is interested in building with innovation, novelty, and especially sustainability.”
The 45-year-old is also working on another project to rebuild New Orleans after the devastation from Hurricane Katrina.

Out for a relaxing meal, Brad Pitt was spotted grabbing an early dinner in Aviles, Spain on Monday (August 31).
Wearing a white polo shirt with slacks and a white newsboy cap, the “Fight Club” stud joined a few companions - as the group chatted amongst one another while sipping on wine.
Meanwhile, Pitt’s recently released movie “Inglourious Basterds” was knocked off of the top spot in the box office this weekend by “The Final Destination”.
The horror flick earned $28.3 million while Pitt’s World War II saga pulled in $20 million, according to studio estimates.
