I promised you this interview in the post where I finally, at long last, pitted the boys against each other - go here to see my ?Brad Pitt versus Justin Theroux: Battle of the Try-Hards? post. Anyway, it seems like today we?re just going to be inundated with new Brad Pitt interviews. These are some excerpts from his cover interview in Sunday?s Parade Magazine - by the way, Parade editors: don?t excerpt your cover story over the course of a seven-page slideshow. It?s ridiculously and unnecessarily time-consuming. Just put the s–t on one page. Anyway, you can read all of Parade?s piece here - just go through the endless pages, for the love of God. The biggest, attention-gettingest quote is probably when Brad makes reference to his marriage to Jennifer Aniston - and he makes it sound like it was totally miserable.
Brad?s 1990s: ?I spent the ?90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony. I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn?t living an interesting life myself,” he continues. “I think that my marriage [to actress Jennifer Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn?t.”
How he changed: “I put much more emphasis on being a satisfied man. I?m satisfied with making true choices and finding the woman I love, Angie, and building a family that I love so much. A family is a risky venture, because the greater the love, the greater the loss. ? That?s the trade-off. But I?ll take it all.?
On Angelina: ?One of the greatest, smartest things I ever did was give my kids Angie as their mom,” he tells Parade. “She is such a great mom. Oh, man, I?m so happy to have her.?
On the rumors: “I mean, how many stories have you read that aren?t true, stories about me and Angie being married or fighting or splitting up? And when we don?t split up, there?s a whole new round that we?ve made up and we?re back together again!” he says. “We?ll get married when everyone can. We?re not splitting up. And we don?t have a seventh child yet.”
on gay marriage: ?Can you believe that we?re still fighting for equality in America? To be against marriage for everyone is utter discrimination. I feel strongly about that because if equality of marriage doesn?t happen now, the next generation will have to deal with it. It is an amazing thing that New York has finally gotten same-sex marriage. But the real problem is that the federal government hides behind states on this issue. It is blatant, ugly bigotry, and the federal government shouldn?t be doing that. You?re denying some Americans the right that all Americans have, to live their lives as they choose. What are you so afraid of? That?s my question. Gay people getting married? What is so scary about that? It?s complicated. You grow up in a religion like that and you try to pray the gay away. I feel sadness for people like that. This is where people start short-circuiting?instead of being brave and questioning their beliefs, they are afraid and feel that they have to defend them.?
Brad on religion: ?I don?t mind a world with religion in it. There are some beautiful tenets within all religions. What I get hot about is when they start dictating how other people must live. People suffer because of it. They are spreading misery. My family is all devout Christians? We don?t see eye to eye on this one, yet at the end of the day we love each other, we?re still family.?
Brad on adopting babies: ?When Angie and I first met, we came together quite quickly and we decided we were adopting. Now the rules are that because we are not married, I can?t adopt. Angie adopts. We decided we were adopting a daughter. We were going to do it right out of the gate. We were not going to mess around. Angie said, ‘No shopping [for kids].’ I thought that was astute and beautifully put. It took the pressure off of adoption and brought a magic to it. We had set our parameters?we had room in our family if anyone needed a home. We got the call, and that?s our eldest daughter, Zahara? You get an attachment to people and places that you see. If you see suffering when you?re there, then you?ve made a connection to those people and you have to act on it. Once you have an understanding of it then you have to try to help. I say to people, go travel the world. Open your eyes. See it.”
ON NATURE VERSES NUTURE: “If you ask me about nature versus nurture, I?m going to say it is 80 percent nature, absolutely. You see [a child?s character] six, maybe nine months in. Now, some of our kids need more nurturing than others. Some have more delicacy. They?re all just unique individuals.”
ON LEARNING FRENCH: ?All our kids are speaking French, so now we have that second language infused into our home. Everyone is learning another language. I?ve got the Rosetta Stone for French sitting right on the table in the bedroom, and it?s going to be loaded into my brain. I know there are certain synapses in my brain that just freeze dead at French, but I have to learn it because our kids are speaking it. [Laughs] Even the twins as babies were saying certain things in French.?
ON FAME: ?I don?t read about Angie or me in the press. I don?t see anything. I really don?t want to know. I don?t think the generation [of celebrities] preceding me had it as bad as I did. And I think the generation after me has it worse than that. I?m talking about the tabloid press. In the ?90s it really shook me up. I couldn?t believe that people would just make up stories. I would never think to do that. I mean, I went to journalism school. And there?s a code of ethics to journalism. It?s about being unbiased and not sensationalist and speculative. Now there?s a cult of speculation. ‘A close source says?’ The thing that really amazed me was when someone would describe why I did something, or what I was feeling. I used to go mental over it and try to fight it. But it was a futile battle, so I just gave up on it.”
[From Parade and CNN]
There?s so much more, about Make It Right NOLA and he talks at length about religion and faith too. But let?s just get into the tabloidy stuff about his marriage to Aniston. He doesn?t really blame Jennifer or say that it was her fault or anything - I actually like the way he made the point: ?I wasn?t living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn?t.? As in, they simply weren?t right for each other as husband and wife, and he got sick of pretending that they had some kind of fairy tale. If he?s accusing Jennifer of anything, it?s that she was NOT sick of pretending they had a fairy-tale marriage.
Also - I really like what he said about Angelina. Brad rarely speaks of Angelina so effusively. But I would like for Brad to talk her up more as his partner, as his de facto wife instead of just as the mother of his kids.

In promotional mode as he readies for the release of his new movie "Moneyball," Brad Pitt nabbed the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly.
Set to hit newsstands tomorrow (September 16), the 47-year-old chatted with the magazine about his People's Sexiest Man Alive status, as well as working with partner Angelina Jolie.
Highlights from Pitt's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to visit EW!
On his Sexiest Man Alive status:
?Well, they?re not saying you?re the Biggest A?hole, you know? When you get older, you realize it?s just for fun. Clooney and I were able to have fun with it later. But in some ways, I?m still a kid from Missouri and Oklahoma and I?m trying to find my way. By the way, we?re only talking about a blip. I didn?t spend much time thinking about it.?
On his joint "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" effort with Angelina Jolie: ?A husband and wife who actually want to kill each other?I thought that was a launching pad for something really fun and vibrant. Again, that was something we were developing as we were going along, and Angie?s a great partner in that. We work really well together. We had some good workshops beforehand. Had some good laughs and ideas. That was just a great collaboration that turned into a greater collaboration.?
On the possibility of working alongside his lady in the future: ?We should be doing them together?that?s what we should be doing. We should be doing everything together, and then we could work less. We could have more time off.?

Hitting the red carpet side-by-side, Brad Pitt was joined by Angelina Jolie at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival on Friday evening (September 9).
The lovely couple worked the press area at Roy Thomson Hall as the "Fight Club" stud premiered his latest movie "Moneyball" during the annual north of the border festivities.
The press duties come as Brad and Angelina have been staying in Richmond, London as Pitt works on another new movie titled "World War Z".
With their brood of children also staying in the UK locale, a source told Us magazine that the little ones are being kept occupied with the help of children's entertainers.
The Us insider dished, "The company is Amanda's Action Kids. [Founder Amanda Frolich] has her own album which she uses at parties and classes in West London."
"The kids laughed and screamed all day," the source added. "They were exhausted by the time the troupe left!"

| Angelina Jolie in Vivienne Westwood, in Toronto: lovely or boring? | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

My birthday is tomorrow, so Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie decided to give me the gift of new red carpet photos. It was just what I wanted! Brad is in Toronto to push Moneyball, which I still really want to see. The photos of Brad solo, without sunglasses, are from the press conference and photo call for Moneyball, and then the photos where he?s with Angelina Jolie are from the Toronto premiere. Angelina wore this black Vivienne Westwood that I really, really like on her. I?ve been wanting her to wear Westwood for so long! I don?t know who did the lovely gold purse, but it?s a nice metallic ?pop? for the black dress. Oh, and the purse is ?chained? to Angelina?s wrist - that?s not a separate piece of jewelry. I bet kinky Jolie loved that.
As for Brad? does anyone else think he looks like Tom Brady now? It?s the hair. Brad had grown out his hair to a perfect Tom Brady-esque man-bob. Still? Brad looks good. He had been relatively clean-cut for a while, but I think this scruff might be for World War Z, and hopefully Brad will do something different when that film finishes its endless shoot. Maybe then he?ll get a haircut.

Enjoying some time up north, Brad Pitt was spotted at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier today (September 9).
The ?Mr. and Mrs. Smith? stud donned a white button-up shirt with a dark blazer and jeans as he arrived at the TIFF Light Box and signed some autographs.
In real estate news, Brad may have a celebrity buyer for his $14 million beachfront property- none other than Reese Witherspoon.
An insider told press, ?She seemed interested in it. She hasn?t made an offer yet. The house is still on the market.?

He certainly has the means to live an extravagant life, and Brad Pitt was spotted arriving back to his temporary home in Glasgow via helicopter on Wednesday (September 7).
The ?Mr and Mrs Smith? star hopped out of his swanky air transport looking cool and casual while sipping on an energy-boosting coffee drink.
The travels come as the streets of Glasgow have been abuzz during the filming of Pitt?s current project ?World War Z.?
The Scottish city is being used for Philadelphia-set scenes for the zombie thriller - which is set to hit theaters in December 2012.

Turning into a family routine, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took their brood out for a cinema weekend excursion in London on Sunday (September 4).
The "Mr and Mrs Smith" co-star couple had the entire clan alongside for the theater visit, as Pax, Shiloh, Vivienne, Knox, Maddox and Zahara shuffled out to the family ride after catching a showing of "The Smurfs".
The family movie outing comes after Us magazine reports that Angelina treated her little ones to a garden party at their rented abode in Richmond the previous day.
An inside dished of the festivities, "All of the kids were in the garden to play and she surprised them with a local group of children's entertainers."
Explaining further, the Us source told, "Think juggling, game organising, races, that type of thing. The kids laughed and screamed all day. They were exhausted by the time the troupe left!"

| Star: Brad Pitt is spending time with his attractive assistant in his trailer | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
This week?s tabloids take this whole ?Brad Pitt must be boning his attractive assistant? story to its logical conclusion. At least, I hope this is the conclusion, although I guess I could see it going further. Previously, we?ve heard about Angelina Jolie getting pissed that Brad has an attractive assistant on World War Z - the chick?s name is Lara Marsden. Brad continued to be photographed with Lara, and then the tabloids got into Lara?s MySpace account and got their hands on lots of her bikini photos. Now Star Mag reports this week that Lara is spending lots of one-on-one time with Brad in his trailer. When Angelina heard about this, she pushed Brad, smacked him around a little bit, and then kicked him out of the house.
Angelina Jolie stole Brad Pitt from Jennifer Aniston on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith and now Angie is worried that his 25-year-old assistant Lara Marsden will steal Brad while he films World War Z!
?Brad spends a lot of time with Lara when he isn?t filming,? a source tells Star. ?Lara looks after Brad, making sure he is well taken care of and getting him whatever he needs. She even bring tea to his 25-foot white luxury trailer in between scenes.?
And the people around them definitely thing something is going on. ?You can definitely hear snickers and giggles from the crew members when Lara visits Brad?s trailer alone,? the source adds.
You can bet this isn?t making Angelina too happy. ?Angie?s been making her feelings about Brad?s relationship with Lara known for months,? another insider explains. ?So when she found out Brad was still getting cozy with her, Angelina absolutely flipped!?
Things got physical, according to the source, when Angelina confronted Brad ? she pushed him against the wall and pointed her finger in his face!
?Angelina was so upset she even kicked Brad out of their house, screaming ?Get out!,?? the source continues. ?She was ranting and raving, threatening to pack up and take the kids away. Now she?s barely speaking to him.?
[From Hollywood Life]
Here?s what I believe: Brad could and would cheat, and he, like many men, think that he could get away with having a little fling with an assistant (or intern, or secretary, etc). I believe that Lara Marsden probably LOVES being Brad?s assistant, and she might even be the one who is seeking him out for all of this alleged one-on-one time. Now, here?s what I don?t believe: that Brad would leave Angelina for some PA, or that Angelina would violently attack Brad, unless it was part of some sexual act. I also don?t think Angelina is kicking Brad out of the house, now or ever. I also wonder if Angelina and Brad have some kind of clause in their relationship, where they can both get a little strange every now and then as long as it?s never serious.
Here?s some extra stuff from Angelina?s Vanity Fair cover thing. Rich Cohen, who interviewed Angelina, was on the Today show, plus I screen capped an additional image from the VF photo shoot.

Kicking off the week with a trip to the movies, Brad Pitt was spotted at a cinema in Richmond, London, England today (August 29).
The ?Fight Club? stud looked to have his hands full as his kids Pax, Shiloh, Zahara, Vivienne, Knox, and Maddox all came along for the ride.
As for his current project ?World War Z,? it seems Brad played the part of hero to an extra who fell during production last week.
An insider told press, ?It was total chaos as 700 extras were trying to get down the street ? they were banging into moving cars, cameras and military who were carrying heavy machine guns. Lots of people hurt themselves, and Brad came to the rescue of a woman who slipped.?
?I don?t think she could believe it when Brad picked her up. He didn?t have time to speak to her as it was mid-shoot. But she said afterward how grateful she was, despite having a badly-grazed knee.?

| Brad Pitt 'rescues' a woman from being trampled in Scotland | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Brad Pitt is going to be filming World War Z for the rest of his life, I think. How long has this film shoot lasted? I guess it?s a complicated sci-fi/action/drama, but seriously. Anyway, Brad has been filming in Scotland for a few weeks now, with Glasgow supposedly standing in for Philadelphia (in what world?). Late last week, Brad was on the Glasgow set with hundreds of extras, filming a zombie invasion scene, when he ?rescued? a woman. Sorry for the quotes - he actually did help a woman who had fallen, but the reports about the incident make it sound like Brad gave this woman a kidney or something:
Lately he’s been busy battling zombies, but on Thursday Brad Pitt stepped into the role of real-life rescuer.
The actor, 47, was shooting his new movie World War Z in Glasgow, Scotland, where more than 700 extras were packed into George Square to film chaotic scenes of a terrifying zombie invasion. But the terror turned real when a female extra slipped amid the trampling crowd.
“I don’t think she could believe it when Brad picked her up,” a set insider told The Scottish Sun. “He didn’t have time to speak to her as it was mid-shoot. But she said afterwards how grateful she was, despite having a badly-grazed knee.”
When he hasn’t been busy shooting, Pitt has been enjoying the Scottish countryside with partner Angelina Jolie and their six kids, who are staying in a rented country estate that includes a 16th-century mansion.
The family is expected to remain in Scotland until Pitt wraps filming on World War Z in the next few weeks.
[From People]
So the woman stumbled and Brad picked her up. It was a lovely thing to do, and trust me, when you?re a clumsy bitch (*raises hand*) it?s nice when a dude is around to help you up. But enough with the ?Brad saved someone?s life? stories. I guess it?s better than ?Brad is obviously boning extra, she only fell because he whipped it out, of course? stories though.
Brad?s lover, Angelina Jolie, spent Friday at The Hague, where she watched the prosecution?s closing in the war crimes trial of a Congolese warlord accused of recruiting children to be soldiers in the Congolese civil war There?s video of Angelina speaking to the AP outside of the courtroom, where she says in part, ?I?m not attending particularly as a UN Ambassador. I?m attending just as a concerned citizen of the world who cares about children. I was speaking with many of the men here today who were in fact child soldiers and they say it?s hard for them to even imagine that they?re still asking the international community to enforce this ban. It seems like something we shouldn?t be asking for. It seems so obvious that it is so inhumane. It is so unfair.? You can see photos of Angelina here.
