Having wrapped up her "Harry Potter" premiere efforts, Emma Watson treated herself to a SoHo shopping spree in New York City on Wednesday afternoon (July 13).
The darling actress stopped to look at jewelry being sold on the street before sprinting off to try and catch a cab - but she ended up being turned on, as the driver surprisingly told her that he was off duty.
With "Deathly Hallows Part 2" hitting theaters on Friday (July 15), Emma was recently asked by TeenHollywood about her feelings on the hit franchise drawing to an end. To this, she replied, "It?s so strange. I can?t articulate it. Emotional overall but a real sense of excitement about the next chapter of my life starting but I feel sad and nostalgic about all of this coming to an end. It?s been such a huge part of my life that it?s almost scary to acknowledge that there is going to be so much change."
As for what she has planned next, Emma said, I'm going to travel this summer which I?m really excited about. Change is always scary, but I feel very excited and I feel like I'm entering a new chapter and getting a fresh start. Then, I'm going back to school in the fall. I've got two years left until I complete my degree. I just finished a film called The Perks of Being a Wallflower which was just the most incredible experience. I had the best six weeks (on that). Having an experience like that outside of 'Harry Potter' is what really convinced me that acting really is what I should be doing; that I was good at it. It really solidified that for me."

The first thing a child actor does when transitioning into an adult actor is go for an “edgier” role. That or leak a bunch of nude self-shots she took of herself. Emma Watson will sadly be going the former route and will co-star in the “sex and drug filled coming-of-age film The Perks of Being a Wallflower” with Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev.
“The world has only seen her basically in one role?a pretty conservative, sweet, smart character, which is great,” Watson’s Wallflower costar Nina Dobrev told us earlier today while promoting her PSA for Puma’s breast cancer charity organization Project Pink. “But this one, she pushes the envelope in a different way than anyone’s ever seen her, which is really great. It’s a great role for her.”
“I think they’re going to be excited to see her in something else,” Dobrev says. “And see her spread her wings and try different things. It’s always exciting to see someone you love do something different and see a different side of them.”
And it sounds like we’ll be seeing a new side to the Vampire Diaries actress as well.
“My character is a victim of abuse,” Dobrev says. “So she’s abused, and [my brother] Charlie [played by Logan Lerman] witnesses that. That’s kind of my drama of the movie.” [E!]
How edgy will this be? Emma’s character Sam has “a Rocky Horror-inspired scene in which she dances around in a corset.” Oh, so not edgy at all, you mean? I’ve seen edgier stuff at a children’s play. If some guy doesn’t walk in on Emma Watson and Nina Dobrev and say he’s here for the gangbang, I’m throwing my hands in the air and leaving.

As you already saw from CB?s post about the dudes of Harry Potter, last night was the big New York City premiere of the last Harry Potter film. EVER. Much like the London premiere, Emma Watson decided to go all out and just wear a giant ball gown for her premiere. This gown is Bottega Veneta Fall 2011, and I kind of dislike the whole look. I think if the dress was either/or - all bronze satin or all beige linen, I might have loved it, but putting the two fabrics together in this odd way, on such a petite young girl? it overwhelms her. Plus, her MAKEUP. It?s WAY too much. I think she even has some kind of metallic appliqus on her eyelids?? She looks like she has two sparkly black eyes.
Earlier in the day, Emma made an appearance at The Late Show, and she chose another befuddling ensemble. This sparkly little dress is Balmain Fall 2011, and she paired it with Louboutin wedges. UGH WEDGES. I?m not opposed to wedges when you put them with jeans or another casual look, but with a sparkly cocktail dress? At least her makeup is so much better with this look.
Here?s Emma in the first Harry Potter film - so cute!

Stepping out for an exciting evening, Emma Watson was spotted at the New York City premiere of ?Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II? tonight (July 11).
The Hermione Granger actress looked absolutely fabulous in a golden Bottega Veneta frock with Giuseppe Zanotti heels as she arrived at Lincoln Center for the last Harry Potter Big Apple premiere ever.
Emma?s costar Rupert Grint chatted with press about their big kissing scene, and it was a lot less romantic than the film makes it out to be.
"It was a tricky one, because it had to be believable. We had to look like we wanted to do it, when in reality we really didn't. We were soaking [in the scene], and that kind of made it a little bit easier, I think, because it was kind of this outburst of adrenaline."
Watson added, "The only good side to it was the fact that we were both in the same boat. We were both just like, 'Oh my God, I can't believe we have to do this. This is so awkward. Really awkward.' So I could take comfort in the fact that Rupert felt the same way. We were both giggling. We were like 12-year-olds. We were like giggling children, where you just couldn't keep it together."

It?s one of the biggest movies of the year, and ?Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II? held its premiere in New York City tonight (July 11).
And of course, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint were all on hand at the Lincoln Center to pose for pictures and sign autographs.
In a recent interview, Radcliffe shared that he may follow in Emma Watson?s footsteps and pursue higher education now that his ?Potter? days are over.
"I watch a huge amount of stuff on the Discovery Channel and have started considering doing an Open University course because I'm becoming more and more fascinated by archaeology. So yes, as sad as I am to say goodbye to Harry, I'm really excited to see what the future holds."

Continuing her media duties, Emma Watson was spotted at ?The Late Show with David Letterman? earlier today (July 11).
Looking lovely as usual in a shimmering silver frock, the ?Harry Potter? hottie headed inside the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City to plug the final Potter film ?Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II.?
And it sounds like Emma has a bittersweet attitude with the franchise finale, as she?s looking forward to what she calls a more normal life after playing Hermione Granger for 12 years.
Miss Watson told press, "I'm looking forward to just being a normal young woman again. It has been quite hard and pressured making the Harry Potter films. I'm so happy to be out having fun with my friends. It will be nice to take a break and step back a bit. It'll be the first time I'll be able to look back and properly enjoy the success we've all had. It?s been incredible.?
"It?s just nice to come out, have a dance, have a drink and just let my hair down. We're having a really good time and the disco's really fun. They're playing some classic tunes tonight."

The publicity machine is in full drive for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2, which comes out this weekend in the U.S., and it’s rather bittersweet to witness this last mutual go-round from Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint as they embark on the final leg of this decade-long journey. Even though I’m not much of a Potter head myself, it still makes me a bit misty eyed to witness these three actors and good friends as they kick off the last installment of the franchise and, in the process, bid it farewell too. Naturally, I’m going to issue a mild SPOILER ALERT for those of you who are planning to see the movie but haven’t yet read the book, but here’s a few choice bits from Rupert and Emma in a discussion with Movieline:
Everyone Calls Rupert By His Wizard Name: Not once, but twice, press conference attendees referred to Rupert Grint as ?Ron.? Thankfully, he didn?t seem to mind the slips of the tongue all that much. “I?ve always felt this close connection to Ron, even before the films,” he said. “After ten years, playing the same guy everyday, you naturally just morph into him. We have become this kind of ?Ronpert? kind of thing. I think there will always be a bit of Ron in me for the rest of my life.”
Rupert And Emma Did Not Want Kiss Each Other: The big kiss between Ron and Hermione is handled with a deft touch in The Deathly Hallows, something made all the more impressive because of the reluctance of the two stars involved. “I?ve known Emma so long, we were dreading this scene,” Rupert Grint said. “We wanted people to think that we actually wanted to kiss each other, because in reality we really didn?t. It?s a nice moment, hopefully people believe it.”
Does Grint remember anything specific about the kiss? “I find it hard to recall anything about it, I think it?s been erased from my mind.”
Emma Watson On Getting Noticed Everywhere: Being a main character in one of the biggest film franchises in history has its obvious pluses, but also some minuses. ?It was when I was in a shanty town in Bangladesh, and a boy stopped me in the street and said, ?You?re the girl from Harry Potter!?? Emma Watson said at the press conference, recalling the strangest place she?s ever been recognized. ?There?s nowhere in the world that I can go ? almost, it feels ? that isn?t somehow touched by this film franchise. It?s absolutely amazing. It reaches the farthest corners of the Earth, the least expected places. So, that was a real ? I was like, ?Wow, I really can?t go anywhere! Wonderful!??
Watson is able to handle such scrutiny, however, because it?s been there most of her life. ?I feel fortunate in that I?ve never really known what it?s like to have total freedom and anonymity. It?s not as though I had it, and all of a sudden it got taken away from me. It?s something I grew up knowing, and there?s a process that happened gradually. I?ve never known anything else. In a way, I guess that?s a blessing.?
[From Movieline]
Poor Rupert! He appears to have inadvertently likened the aftermath of kissing one of his best friends to PTSD, and Emma seems to agree wholeheartedly as well. Of course, these two undoubtedly dreaded filming that particular scene for quite some time, which made it worse in their own heads than the actual experience could have been all by itself.

Even more Harry Potter premiere stuff! I know, it?s overkill, but these aren?t more red carpet photos (you can see our red carpet coverage here and here). These are photos from the post-premiere party! Little Emma Watson made a costume change from her enormous tulle Oscar de la Renta gown to this sparkly little Elie Saab. Once again, I think Emma pulls it off because of her youth - it?s a girly, frilly, frothy little dress on a young woman, and it works. She doesn?t even look washed out! I?m not a huge fan of the stiffness of the skirt (I imagine it would be difficult to sit in), but it?s not horrible.
As for Emma?s hair? I believe this is the same (awkward) hair style she did at the premiere. I still don?t like it. Does Emma not realize how cute she looks when she just slicks the whole mess down? Of course she realizes it - because she slicked it down for her final look of the evening. That?s right, people. Emma had THREE costume changes in ONE night. Behold, Emma?s last outfit of the evening, a gorgeous little black mini and black jacket:
How great does this look? THIS should have been the premiere and after-party look. So chic, so simple and glamorous. Although? does anyone have any thoughts on Emma thinking she absolutely needed THREE costume changes for the premiere and after-party?
