She?s been attending college classes at Brown University as of late, and Emma Watson says living in the States has given her new perspective on British style.
In a recent interview, the ?Harry Potter? hottie explained the difference between American and English fashion.
?It?s so funny because now that I?m in America, I?m more able to define it. Before I didn?t have an awareness of another style. I think [British style] has to do with the weather. We have terrible weather. It?s very gray and drizzly so we need things to cheer us up. And I think that leads to a lot of creativity and color, and I think that?s why our designers are so innovative.?
?Because at home we?re kind of up against the elements in a sense. And we need cheering up. I think we do very well with kind of an eclectic mix. We have great vintage and we love to mix and match: high street and high fashion, vintage?and I think that really defines it as well.?

Unlike Miley Cyrus?s classy leather dress at The Last Song premiere last night, Emma Watson?s leather-and-lace concoction failed to win me over. This is Emma at a cocktail party in New York last night, and this is what Emma was wearing when she met Anna Wintour, for goodness sake. I?m sure this dress is ?high fashion? and expensive as all hell, but it just looks totally cheap to me. The lace cutouts in the leather, the detailing at the hem, it?s all so? tacky. And not what I expected of Emma at all! She?s usually so lovely and stylish. Who dressed her in this monstrosity? It?s Christopher Kane, a designer I don?t know at all. And now I don?t want to know him. Emma has a contract with Burberry, and she should stick to that line, seriously. Here?s a little more from OK UK:
Emma Watson proved her Hermione days are over as she stepped out in a racy leather and lace dress in New York last night.
Harry Potter star Emma Watson showed off her grown-up style as she attended a London Show Rooms cocktail party in New York wearing a lace dress with leather panelling and floral accents.
Emma, who was happy to sign autographs for fans waiting outside, matched the stunning Christopher Kane frock with a pair of towering black heels.
It was the first public appearance the 19-year-old has made since splitting from boyfriend Jay Barrymore after two years together.
Emma recently received a standing ovation after appearing in her university’s stage adaptation of Anton Checkov?s Three Sisters.
An onlooker said the star, who is currently preparing for the release of the final Harry Potter film, was “nervous” but said Emma’s performance was “faultless”.
The actress was joined by Vogue editor and fashionista Anna Wintour at the star-studded bash held at Pulino.

There have been rumors that Emma is a new favorite of Anna Wintour, and that an American Vogue cover might be forthcoming. I wonder what Anna thought of this? I can never tell her taste in fashion, honestly. Wintour might have thought this junk was fabulous. Hopefully not.

Sure, she?s one of the hottest actresses in the world, but that didn?t stop Emma Watson from getting nervous before her Brown University stage debut.
The ?Harry Potter? actress starred in the campus production of ?Three Sisters,? and had plenty of butterflies in her stomach prior to the gig.An insider told press, ?Emma was nervous beforehand but was faultless in her role. She has been juggling coursework with rehearsals and learning lines so she?s had a lot on her plate.?
But in the end, everything went great. ?Emma was over the moon that every show was a full house. She also made some new friends while doing it.?

Continuing her search for Mr. Right, Emma Watson has reportedly called it quits with her boyfriend of two years, financier Jay Barrymore.
The 19-year-old Hermione Granger cutie is said to have decided that it was time for a change, as she's currently studying in the States at Brown University while her 28-year-old former flame has been living in London.
?Emma and Jay were in trouble for months and with Emma at Brown University in America, the transatlantic gap proved too much for their relationship to survive,? a source told the Daily Mail.
Adding that Miss Watson is now connected with Spanish musician and fellow student Rafael Cebrian, the insider tells, ?Emma has been spending a lot of time with Rafael and they are virtually inseparable. Rafael belongs to the Production Workshop, a student-run theater group at Brown. He?s been acting with them since he moved to the US, and he has got Emma involved."

The “Harry Potter” babe looked cute and casual as she carried an armload of books across the Rhode Island grounds, sporting a white coat, blue trousers and sneakers.

Certainly one of the hottest commodities in Tinseltown, Emma Watson has been named the highest paid female star in Hollywood.
According to a recently released list by Vanity Fair, the 19-year-old “Harry Potter” star snatched the top spot while Sarah Jessica Parker came in second place.
It’s estimated that Emma was tossed a whopping $30 million for her work on the final two “Harry Potter” movies while co-star Daniel Radcliffe raked in a staggering $40 million for the two flicks.
Talking about her big wages, Miss Watson told press of her big bank account: “I really don’t have time to spend my money. I had no idea of the scale of the film series. If I had I would have been completely overwhelmed.”

Over the past few years, I have started really liking little Emma Watson, the young British girl in the Harry Potter films. She seems like she?s got a good head on her shoulders, and she usually comes across as a very classy young woman. So imagine my surprise and dismay when I came across these Vs. Magazine outtakes of Emma looking like she?s taking style tips from Courtney Love and Taylor Momsen. What the hell?
Now here?s something that we?ve never seen before; Harry Potter?s very own Emma Watson looking like quite the naughty little minx in a couple of outtake photos from her Vs. magazine photoshoot. Well, at least to me she looks naughty, and I?ve definitely never seen her look that hot? ever. Now I don?t know if it?s because of the sultry look she?s unleashing, or the way she?s applying her lipstick, or that see through dress she?s wearing, or all of the above, but she?s definitely making me want to teach her a few of my own magic tricks.

Emma, put away the eyeliner. Put away the lingerie. Put away the cheesecake poses. You?re a pretty girl, but you need to be styled correctly, or else it all falls apart. Now, I will defend Emma here though - she rarely participates in these kinds of less-than-wholesome photo shoots, and she?s probably still trying to find a public image that?s less squeaky-clean, you know? And it could totally be worse. Totally.

Emma Watson is featured in the Burberry spring/summer 2010 ad campaign, and… meh. I mean, Emma is a very pretty girl and I’m pleased she’s gone back to slightly darker hair (I didn’t like her as a blonde; it washed her out), but why so glum? Her facial expressions here vary from “dead-eyed stare” to “halfhearted scowl” and I’m a little puzzled. She doesn’t have jacked up teeth or anything, so what’s with the moratorium on smiling?

Most of the time she flies below the gossip radar, but when it comes to box office numbers, Emma Watson is definitely on top of the game.
The crimson-haired actress has been named the biggest-grossing female star of the 2000s, having helped bring in $5.4 billion in box office earnings.
Of course, most of that success can be attributed to her role as Hermione Granger in the massively successful “Harry Potter” films - as Emma’s co-star Dame Maggie Smith came in second place on the list.
As for the fellas, Orlando Bloom topped the actor’s list at $6.5 billion - making most of his box office dough with the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise” and “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
