I burst out laughing when Sofia Vergara was talking to Ryan Seacrest about her dress. Look, it?s not like I?m in the habit of making fun of accents - longtime readers know that I love an accent, and hey, my dad?s an immigrant, so I grew up hearing English spoken with an accent. I just think Sofia?s Colombian accent is oversized and she works it harder for comedic effect. Like, when she told Seacrest that her dress was Vera Wang, it?s like Sofia?s mouth couldn?t form the appropriate sounds and it came out as ?Vaaaa-rrrra WO-ONG!? It was ridiculous and yes, I laughed at her accent.
So here is Sofia in Vara WONG (said with a roll of ?r? and by drawing out the ?wong? to make it into a two syllables). I love the color on Sofia - the salmon-pink is just gorgeous. The fit is great, it?s flattering, her girls aren?t spilling out and she looks like a goddess. She was one of my favorites of the night too, but I did dislike two parts of her styling: I disliked the ?sleek? hairstyle, which just seemed ?flat? to me, and I HATED those earrings, which were much too big for Sofia. That face is gorgeous - why draw attention away from it with gigantic earrings? And the pop of emerald green against the salmon? it did nothing. But, as I said, those were my only issues, and the dress is gorgeous.
I included a photo of Sofia with her boyfriend, Nick, who? I don?t know, I kind of think Sofia is over it. And there?s one of the young girls from Modern Family. One of the things I like so much about that show is that it feels like all of the adult actors love and adore the child actors, and look out for them. They just seem like a tight-knit group. I hope there?s no drama.

She's always a draw anywhere she goes, and tonight (September 18) Sofia Vergara turn heads as she hit the red carpet of the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards.
Looking as gorgeous as ever, the "Modern Family" mama showed off her flawless frame as she posed for the press before heading inside Nokia Theatre.
The brunette beauty is in the running for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series while competing against co-star Julie Bowen, Jane Lynch, Betty White and Kristen Wiig and Jane Krakowski.
Also up for Outstanding Comedy Series along with her "Modern Family" castmates, the show faces off against "Glee," "Parks and Recreation," "The Office," "The Big Bang Theory" and "30 Rock."

Who doesn’t like Sofia Vergara? She’s gorgeous, funny, and altogether humble. While I still don’t understand why she appeared in The Smurfs, I can overlook such trivial mistakes if she stays fabulous. If her interview with The Advocate is any indication, Sofia demonstrates absolutely no problems in the fabulosity department. Unfortunately, there is no accompanying photoshoot, so you’ll have to make do with some candid shots from the last month or so of paparazzi rounds. Meanwhile, Sofia discusses some all-important matters such as gay rights, her gay following, and the semi-controversial matter of hoping that she doesn’t have any gay children. As to that last declaration, it’s better than it sounds, really:
On Her Gay Following: I’ve always had plenty of gay fans, even back in Colombia, probably because I’m voluptuous and a little over the top. Gay men always tell me how fabulous I am. I think they want to be Gloria. It’s great. But it’s a reality that more and more people are coming out, so I think it’s important to return their support. Oh, there aren’t that many [lesbian admirers], are there? That’s flattering. All my fans must be very respectful, because I’ve never had a guy or a girl come up and grab my ass.
On Why She Shot Her GLADD PSA In Spanish: Well, imagine how hard it is for Latin guys and Latin kids to be gay. Most of us are raised very Catholic, and the macho figure is very strong in our culture, so it’s still more taboo and a million times more dramatic to come out. Many gay friends have told me how hard it was for them to be open in the Latin community. Nothing?s going to change from one day to the other, so it’s a matter of doing things little by little. That’s why I love the gay couple in “Modern Family.” People always tell me, “We’ve never seen a normal, loving gay couple before!” They think gay people are just running around naked, partying in nightclubs. So it’s good for older people, especially those who aren’t exposed to a lot of gays like we are in the big cities, to see gay people portrayed in a beautiful way.
On Growing Up Catholic: I had the opportunity to be educated and to travel around the world with my family, and those things help. The more that you’re exposed to different things, you stop seeing them as weird. Besides, my family never had a bad experience with gays, because the gay people we knew were amazing, hardworking, and professional. The only thing is that, when I was younger, I remember thinking, I hope my son or daughter isn’t gay. Not because it’s a bad thing but because I knew how hard it is in the Latin culture to be gay. Life is already difficult, and it’s hard enough to find someone and be happy, so I thought that being gay would just triplicate the trouble.
On Her Gay Role: I did a movie called Grilled with Ray Romano and Kevin James that went straight to video. I played a transsexual, a guy who had gone all the way with the operation to become a woman. I had a great time playing that character. I look like a transsexual anyway. I’m a woman, but I’m super-exaggerated with my boobs, my ass, my makeup, and my accent. When I get ready for an event, I always look at myself in the mirror and say, “I look like a transvestite!” I love it.
On Friendship With Jane Lynch: It’s great. When we see each other, we kiss and hug each other. I really admire her. Her role on “Glee” is amazing, and you know what? She deserved to win. I love her. But yes, the media does seem to want us to have this funny rivalry, and I don?t mind.
On Her Girl Crush: I have many, but I love Halle Berry. She’s perfection. Every time I see her, I want to give her a standing ovation because she’s so flawless.

While some reactionists will take offense to Sofia saying that she grew up not wanting a gay child, I see what Sofia is saying in this interview. Of course, any sound bite would make it sound awful, but let’s just not go there, shall we? She meant no offense, but some people might still take it that way. As for Sofia’s quasi-lesbian tantasy, it’s interesting to see that she goes for the crazy ladies, which is the only natural conclusion to draw if she truly thinks Halle Berry is “perfection.” Physically yes, Halle is pretty close to perfect. Inside, not so much. However, let’s not get entirely hung up on that throwaway question and, instead, just take a peek at Sofia’s GLAAD public service announcement, which is uttered in that sumptuous accent:

Sofia Vergara is profiled in the new issue of Vanity Fair, the one with Angelina Jolie as cover girl. Two of my forever biscuits in one magazine? It?s like Christmas! Especially since Sofia?s pictorial is absolutely gorgeous - prettier than Angelina?s, in my opinion. I think I like the photos so much because Sofia looks so? glamorous and old Hollywood. Sofia does ?down-market? very well, probably because she seems genuinely grounded, funny and accessible. She seems ?real?. Even when she?s doing magazine photo shoots, they rarely make Sofia look so classy and not-of-this-world. To be fair to Sofia, she brings her bombshell quality to everything she does - she doesn?t have to ?try? to be sexy. She just is. But these photos? she?s really one of the great beauties working today, isn?t she?
A beauty with charm and impeccable comic timing, Sofa Vergara is just as much an international success story as she is an international sex bomb. Discovered in a G-string on a beach in her home country of Colombia, Vergara went on to wow Latin America and parts of the U.S. as a major presence on the Univision network.
The forward-thinking creators of the hit ABC sitcom Modern Family had the sense to write a part especially for the 39-year-old actress?that of the demanding, hilarious Latina princess Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, for which Vergara has earned a 2011 N.A.A.C.P. Making the most of the beautiful day, Sofia Vergara was spotted out to lunch in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon (September 1).
The ?Modern Family? hottie was pleasant as she made her exit and smiled and waved to paparazzi as she strolled to her car.
And while she has a body to die for, Sofia told press that she?s had to switch up her sexy style a bit as she gets older.
"In my 20s, I would have on a mini-skirt and the boobs. Now, if I'm doing something short, I try to cover up [on top]. I'm almost 40, so I had to evolve - it's natural. I love tight dresses. But I don't do now tight and short. I do tight and long."

Yesterday, Ed O?Neill was FINALLY recognized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Something like three decades in television and film, numerous awards and the respect of his peers, and Ed finally got a star. To celebrate, many of Ed?s Modern Family costars came out to celebrate, including Sofia Vergara (his on-screen wife), Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Rico Rodriguez (Ed?s on-screen stepson). I was just going to write about how great Sofia looked and how happy I was for Ed, until I saw this:
Katey Sagal!! Ed?s costar in Married With Children. I?ve heard that Ed and Katey are still tight after all of these years, but this is the best. Katey coming out to celebrate Ed? that?s wonderful. She looks great too. I like the idea of Ed?s two on-screen wives coming together to celebrate him.
Anyway, back to Sofia and how great she looks. I love this white dress! She looks amazing. Sofia recently discussed her style evolution with USA Today, saying, ?In my 20s, I would have on a mini-skirt and the boobs. Now, if I’m doing something short, I try to cover up [on top]. I’m almost 40, so I had to evolve - it’s natural. I love tight dresses. But I don’t do now tight and short. I do tight and long. I spend a lot of money on shoes and bags. But I wear things I have found all over the world that don’t have to be expensive. I like to dress up.” She also says that she thinks she?s past the age where she could pull off jean shorts: ?My son’s friends and girlfriends are wearing them. I don’t feel it’s right.? Sofia is currently working on a line of affordable clothes and accessories for K-Mart too.

Stepping out for a delectable bite to eat, Sofia Vergara was spotted at the Ivy restaurant in West Hollywood, CA over the weekend (August 27).
The ?Modern Family? beauty was joined by her boyfriend Nick Loeb and was her usual smiley self as she exited the eatery before making her way to her vehicle.
In career news, Ms Vergara has been in talks for one of the three lead characters in ?Danger Girl,? an adaptation of the J. Scott Campbell/Andy Hartnell comic series.
Sofia joins Kate Beckinsale and Milla Jovovich as the third leading lady to play the characters Natalia Kassle, Sydeny Savage and Abbey Chase.
