Modern Family?s Sofia Vergara celebrated her 44th birthday in Los Angeles on Sunday night. Guests, including hubby Joe Manganiello?s co-star and BFF, Paul Reubens (better known as Pee-Wee Herman), celebrated with Sofia and her 23-year-old son, Manolo. The party had a lemon theme, featuring lemon decorations, a lemon cake, a limoncello bar and cocktails with lemon-flavored vodka. My kind of party. Sofia even had her own custom Snapchat filter with a ?Feliz Cumpleaos, Sofia? banner.
Side note: I was trying to figure out the connection between lemons and parties. Heed my advice, do NOT Google “Lemon Party.” That is something you cannot unsee. Here’s what it means though. (SFW)
Sofia’s party was rather spur of the moment, or so she says. She told Extra that she made no plans because, ?I thought I was not going to be in town…I organized something really fast last week, so it?s just going to be, like, a dinner; it?s not going to be that big or that crazy, it?s just going to be simple, ’cause I thought I really was going to be in New York.? Looking at some of the pictures from the festivities, her party looked nothing like my spontaneous celebrations, which usually involve a 12-pack of Michelob Ultra, a pizza from the local Mom and Pop parlor and lots of store brand tortilla chips and salsa. Yes, I’m jealous.
It’s obvious Sofia’s sense of humor has been passed down to Manolo. On Snapchat he modeled a lemon costume next to a lemon tree with the caption ?My family tree.? He later posted a video to Instagram, wishing his Mom a happy birthday and then being jokingly urged out of frame by Sofia before he reveals her age. Later, Sofia donned the lemon costume and damned if she didn?t look gorgeous in that too.

Presenter Sofia Vergara was one of the poor souls in Marchesa last night, which only one nominee was wearing. She was in this navy overworked strapless gown with a chiffon skirt, satin top and a lot of fussy details like beading and a side drape at the waist. This is just way too complicated and the result is that you don’t know where to look. Plus it’s the same silhouette she always wears. Sofia does get points for wearing her hair back though, as our friends at Socialite Life pointed out on Twitter. Remember how she said that women over 40 shouldn’t wear their hair back? I wonder who convinced her to switch it up.
Heidi Klum will make every worst dressed list in this terrible one sleeve deep v-neck Marchesa with ombre stripes. She has to be trolling on the red carpet at this point. It’s like she knows that wearing the most fug dress she can find will get her coverage. She’s already done the “show lots of skin” tactic, this is her next phase.
Chrissy Teigen was one of the least offensive in Marchesa, although she still looked somewhat questionable in this formfitting nude dress with rose and floral embellishments and a deep v-neck and v-back. There’s just too much going on with this gown. It’s too busy and looks somewhat showgirl. Less is more. Did you see that Teigen made the same “oh no”/disgusted face at the Oscars this year? She was reacting to that bizarre bit with Stacey Dash.

Some people are tired of Sofia Vergara. I?m not. I got a little bit tired of her a few years back, but I fell back in love with her during the drama last year with her ex, Nick Loeb, a drama which has no end in sight. Sofia covers the new issue of The Edit, and she talks about a lot of the same stuff: accepting who you are, her giant rack, her hair, her red carpet styling and more. But she has thoughts about other stuff too, like diversity in entertainment and playing a stereotype. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:
Stereotypes are not always bad: ?I?m not afraid of them, and they don?t have to be bad, either. I mean, Gloria is an amazing character: a really good woman with this hilarious accent, so why criticize her for being a stereotype? Plus, all the Latinas I know are loud, they dress sexy and are really involved with their families: that?s Gloria!?
She?s not Zen about aging: ?Watching myself age on screen is awful! There is nothing more disturbing than watching an episode of Modern Family from the first season, then one from seven years later. It just makes me want to kill myself, but what can I do? I?ll be sad when the wolf whistles stop. I?m already sad that men have started calling me ?Seora?. I get really pissed off: ?What? It?s Seorita!??
How she?s changed in her 40s: ?Back in my mum?s era, 40 was considered old, but now I don?t think it is. You have to accept that you can look beautiful, but in a different way. Nowadays I don?t do miniskirts and low-cut tops: it?s one or the other. I don?t do shorts or Pink anymore, and I?ve softened my eye makeup. In Colombia, once women hit 40, they automatically cut their hair short. I used to think I would do that too, but when it came to it I thought, ?Why should I f***ing cut my hair? It makes you look older!??
Motherhood: ?I became a mother very young ? at 20 ? so I feel like I?ve been a mother my whole life, but I love that. Now that I?m 43 and my son is 23, it?s funny to see some of my girlfriends raising young kids. In the US, women postpone motherhood, but in Latin America most of my friends have kids my son?s age. I wouldn?t mind another child: my husband is younger than me and he wants kids so we?re trying to figure out what we?re going to do. The idea of doing it all again doesn?t scare me but, hey, it?s not like it?s going to happen naturally, is it??
Complaints about diversity: ?I?m really not one to complain. I mean, seriously, how dare I! Here I am on prime-time television with this stupid accent, I can?t trash anyone. It would be so ungrateful of me because, trust me, I?ve been treated like a queen. Of course [the opportunities] can?t compare to an American or Caucasian woman?s, but things are changing. The problem is not the networks or directors: it?s that there aren?t enough writers creating things for Latinos. Once we have more Latinos writing, that?s when things may really start to change??
Her breasts: ?My body has changed with age. People will often say that I wear the same thing on the red carpet, but I know my body: it?s very voluptuous and I?ve got the boobs of a stripper. They?re a 32DDD and because they?re real, they?re everywhere, so I need my dresses to have structure ? and under armor. There is so much going on under my dresses that I bleed at the end of award ceremonies. In ten years I think it would be good to have a reduction. I don?t think it?s even going to be an option not to [have surgery], because I?m going to start having back pains. I wouldn?t make them too small ? just enough that I don?t end up looking like an old stripper.?
How she feels about being objectified: ?I?ve never understood why women get so offended. I just don?t believe in all that drama, which is why I?ve made a whole joke out of it. I am secure enough not to take it all that seriously, and I like to laugh at myself.?

I wouldn?t hold it against her if she did complain about diversity, because she seriously toiled away, looking for a break for more than a decade. Once she had a hit, she leveraged that into her own empire through her own hard work. As for the other stuff? here are my Hot Takes: you don?t have to cut your hair when you hit 40, but I disagree that a short haircut makes everyone look older. I don?t think it?s bad idea to say breast reduction might be in the future for Sofia: it might happen. Also, if your dresses make you bleed, you should choose different dresses!

Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello got married on Sunday in Palm Beach, Florida. If I?m being honest, I?m a little bit surprised that the wedding went off without a hitch. I expected them to have the big wedding of course, but I thought there would be more drama around it. But it seems like Joe was marrying his dream girl and Sofia was marrying the only boyfriend she?s had in a decade who isn?t bothered by the fact that she?s a big deal. There are two things that make me love Sofia and Joe?s wedding: one, they weren’t stingy with the social media photos at all (Sofia Instagram?d everything) and two, they asked for charity donations in lieu of wedding gifts. That, to me, is classy, especially from rich Hollywood people.
It’s official: Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello are married! The gorgeous couple tied the knot Sunday during a romantic wedding at The Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Florida. The ceremony began at 7 p.m. in front of gathered guests, which included Vergara’s Modern Family costars, Reese Witherspoon and Channing Tatum.
Vergara, 43, who recently admitted she had a little bit of “bridezilla” in her and is very detail-oriented, pulled out all the stops for the nuptials. The festivities included a weekend full of fun, including a pool party, a sumptuous rehearsal dinner and a pre-wedding bash that included Manganiello serenading his bride-to-be with “Sweet Child O’ Mine.”
At the Sunday ceremony, Vergara wore a custom Zuhair Murad Couture design as she walked down the aisle. The ceremony was indoors, inside a small area decorated with white roses, orchids and hydrangeas. The actress went without a veil and carried a bouquet of orchids.
Instead of exchanging the typical “I dos,” the couple instead said “I will” in front of a minister and members of the wedding party read passages from the Bible in both Spanish and English. Vergara and Manganiello also recited their own vows. The emotional ceremony included a lot of laughter and happy tears from the guests.
Additionally, in lieu of gifts, the couple asked guests to send a donation to one of two charities close to their hearts: St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital.

The Pittsburgh Children?s Hospital is for Joe ? he grew up in Pennsylvania. As for the bride?s custom Zuhair Murad? the silhouette is basically the same as half of her red carpet gowns, but that?s what she?s comfortable in, so God bless. She looked very pretty! Congrats, Sofia and Joe!

Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello are getting married this month. Their wedding will go down in Palm Beach, Florida, reportedly on November 22nd. Who wants to get married that close to Thanksgiving? But that?s a conversation for another time. Anyway, Sofia?s mind is on her big wedding and the hundreds of relatives she?s flying in and whether Joe is freaked out by the size and scope of this now-gigantic wedding. Sofia does not want to think about her ex-fiance, Nick Loeb. But Loeb keeps turning up. Because he is a douche.
In April of this year, we learned that Loeb had filed a lawsuit against Sofia because he wants ?custody? of two frozen embryos they created while they were together. The terms of their embryo situation was and is that both Sofia and Nick have to agree over what to do about the embryos, and Sofia doesn?t want Nick to have ?custody.? Nick claims that ?life begins at fertilization? and that he wants the embryos so he can implant them in a surrogate and raise their children all by himself. The last time we checked in on this situation (back in May), Nick had won the right to proceed with his lawsuit, because I guess California?s legal system wants to enter into the legal clusterf?k that is IVF/surrogacy/genetic blackmail and more.
Last week, Sofia and Nick?s lawyers had a hearing. According to Page Six, Sofia?s lawyers ?brought up a section of the penal code that states that if someone uses genetic material from another person without consent, it?s a criminal offense. But the judge shot down Vergara?s argument and allowed Loeb?s team to move forward with the civil case.? There?s still a lot of legal maneuvering to be done before this case ever comes to trial, but for now, Loeb isn?t being laughed out of court. And now Sofia is ?panicking.?
According to documents exclusively obtained by In Touch magazine, on Oct. 27, a judge rejected the actress? second motion to dismiss a lawsuit filed by her ex Nick. In Touch first broke the story in April, that Nick is trying to prevent Sofa from destroying two cryopreserved female embryos they created through in vitro fertilization prior to their 2014 split.
?Sofa is panicking. The last thing she wants is for this case to go to court,? a source tells In Touch.
Sofa is busy preparing for her Nov. 22 wedding, which will include 400 guests at The Breakers Palm Beach hotel in Florida, but suddenly she?s consumed with her past, not focusing on her future. The judge in the embryo case left open the possibility that if Nick wins at trial, he won?t need Sofa?s consent to bring the embryos to term.
?Sofa is devastated,? an insider tells In Touch, adding that the Modern Family star is ?terrified? of the court battle that is now looming. ?But Nick is committed to saving and bringing these embryos to term via surrogate. He?s going to see this thing through until the end.?
?[Sofa]?s just praying that her legal team finds a way to persuade the judge that this can?t go through without her blessing.?

I seriously don?t understand how any judge could rule that Nick Loeb could or should have ?custody? of those embryos without Sofia?s permission. It would be like harvesting a woman?s eggs and using them without her consent. And those are the terms that both Sofia and Nick agreed to when they agreed to create the embryos ? that they would both have to give consent for the embryos to be used. How does Loeb have a case?

Sofia Vergara has a new beauty-focused interview in People Magazine to promote her new fragrance, Love, which is out now. Just like her red carpet interview at the Emmy’s she’s kind of cross-promoting her perfume with her wedding to Joe Manganiello, slated for November. Sofia is smart and she’s a shrewd businesswoman. She knows that her romance sells and she’s trying to capitalize on that with this second perfume. Unfortunately, as we’ve seen with her sexy but entirely one-note style, Sofia has some old-fashioned ideas about beauty and styling. She told People that she doesn’t think that women should put their hair up from the ages of 40-60. What?!
What will your wedding look be?
Personally, I don?t like the natural look that some brides do. I?m 43; I don?t really need to look like a virgin getting married. I want to look sexy? with a bold lip.
Will your hair be up or down?
Down! I think women, once they hit 40, they shouldn?t put their hair up again until they?re 60.
On a typical day, if you have five minutes to get ready, what do you put on?
Concealer. I don?t wear foundation every day, sometimes just bronzer. I fill in my eyebrows. Blush. I?ve never, ever been without lipstick and mascara. I never do five minutes, but I can do it in 10?
Do you things like facial masks around Joe?
No. There are things that I don?t think you should do outside of your bathroom!

I can relate to Sofia’s position on makeup as I never leave the house without putting my face on. I just feel like a different person without makeup. However I do love a tight pony and I don’t think it’s too young for me. What is she even saying here? One thing I will give her is that ponytails damage your hair. My hairdresser told me to stop pulling mine too tight or to braid my hair instead as he was starting to see breakage. So I’ve had to use clips to put my hair back when I work out. It’s frustrating as the clips don’t stay in when I’m jumping around and it doesn’t look as polished as a ponytail.
This makes me wonder what Sofia does when she goes to the gym. I found some paparazzi photos of her outside the gym and she has her hair down with a baseball cap over it. Doesn’t that get so sweaty and uncomfortable? She’s so dedicated to a look she considers feminine that she doesn’t even put her hair up for the gym. I wonder what she thinks about short hair.
