It came from the Frederick’s of Hollywood’s formal wear section, and it showed Eva Longoria no mercy. It looks just like this Pink lace doily I would use as an ornamental rug in my Barbie Doll Dream House whenever I wanted to designate that room “the ballroom.” Because Pink and lace are fancy, you see. My seven-year-old self would think this was the prettiest dress she’d ever seen.
WHY THIS DOESN’T WORK:
1. The color. Hot Pink is just not a good color for lace. I’m sure under the right circumstances and with perfect tailoring and just as an accent, you could make hot Pink lace work, but 99.99% of the time, it’s an outfit death sentence. Those aren’t odds aren’t in your favor.
2. Sheer overkill (closeup of the dress here). With the sheer/cutout trend, the trick is finding just the right balance between what you expose and what you don’t. Too much flesh just looks cheap.
3. Ruffles. You can do ruffles and lace, but less is generally more. Lace has enough texture on its own — it doesn’t need the added volume of ruffles. It’s too much frippery.

She's at the salon every week, but this time, Eva Longoria felt the need for a police escort as she exited Ken Paves Salon in West Hollywood on Friday (September 13).
The "Desperate Housewives" star wore a blue blouse, jeans, and brown heeled sandals as she was flanked by officers on the way back to her vehicle.
On Thursday, the 38-year-old actress headed to Watertown, Wisconsin to support the First Lady's Let's Move! anti-obesity campaign.
Encouraging kids to drink more water, Eva tweeted, "Incredible day celebrating water with @FilterForGood and @MichelleObama! #DrinkH2O."

Taking some time out of her busy schedule to focus on those close to her, Eva Longoria attended a baptism on Saturday afternoon (August 24) in Los Angeles.
The "Desperate Housewives" alum looked chic in a fitted black dress as she headed inside La Mirada church for the ceremony.
In other news, it appears that the 38-year-old beauty and her beau Ernesto Arguello have parted ways after four months of dating.
According to People magazine, the couple split due to distance issues, as Longoria spends most of her time in Los Angeles, while business keeps Arguello in Miami most of the time.

I never bothered to learn the name of Eva Longoria?s boyfriend. And now I don?t need to! TMZ reports that Eva and Pecs Von Gaydar-Ping are OVER. Yay! This is the same dude who Eva met on her failed reality show. This is the same dude that declared bankruptcy and has more than $4 million in debt. This is the same guy that Eva was trying to make into a ?thing? by trying to get him acting gigs. And now they?re over. Thank God. Good news, single heterosexual men and/or lesbians: Eva Longoria (the sexiest 38-year-old woman on Earth) is now officially single.
Sources tell TMZ, the former “Desperate Housewives” star split from boyfriend Ernesto Arguello this week after dating for roughly 4 months.
The two met while Longoria was producing her dating show “Ready for Love.” Ernesto was a bachelor on the program, but after the show went off the air, Eva decided to take Ernesto for herself.
Eva and Ernesto were spotted canoodling in Spain as recently as two weeks ago (above), but once they got back to L.A., we’re told they decided their busy lifestyles just didn’t mesh.
Eva spends most of her time in L.A., and Ernesto is situated primarily in Miami, so they decided it would be better to split. But some sources aren’t convinced it’s completely over — as one source put it, “They’re just on hold right now.”
Translation: if you want to scoop Eva up, you better act fast.

Even though they denied it, I believe the stories about George Clooney and Eva hooking up earlier this spring and summer, before she made it official with WhatsHisFace. So, is this some kind of ploy to get a late summer invite to Lake Como? I would like Eva so much if she did go to Como and banged Clooney for a week and then she just left him in the lurch. That would mix it up quite a bit. Unfortunately, it?s Clooney Mating Season and he probably already has this year?s model picked out and ready to sign the nondisclosure agreement.

Making time for her faith in the midst of her busy career schedule, Eva Longoria showed up for church in North Hollywood, California on Saturday (August 18).
While looking absolute gorgeous in a floral black-and-white dress, the "Desperate Housewives" beauty ran into "Prison Break" actor Amaury Nolasco following the services.
Meanwhile, the 38-year-old actress decided to give her support to Hillary Clinton for the 2016 Presidential elections.
During a run in with TMZ, Miss Longoria was asked if she would help campaign for the former First Wife.
"Absolutely," Eva proclaimed to the pesky paparazzi.
Although Hillary hasn't officially announced plans for the upcoming elections, she has a strong backing in Hollywood. Other supporters to Miss Clinton's cause include Lionel Richie, Chris Rock, and and Barbara Stresiand.

Polishing up her appearance for a party later in the day, Eva Longoria stopped at Diamond Nails & Spa Tanning in West Hollywood on Saturday (August 17).
The "Desperate Housewives" star looked pretty in a yellow and white striped maxi dress and matching sandals as she headed over to Mario Lopez's daughter's birthday celebration.
On Friday, the Hispanic Heritage Foundation announced that the 38-year-old actress will join other influential Latinos as a recipient of an award at the annual event.
Airing on September 15th on MundoFOX, the 26th Hispanic Heritage Awards will honor celebs including Eva, Diego Luna, Lucero, Juan Pablo Montoya, and more.
