True or false: Scarlett Johansson has a faulty picker. That literally just occurred to me as I was considering writing this story. You could make the argument that Scarlett is sort of screwed up about men and relationships, but I truly believe that if she found the right guy, she would actually be very content in a pretty standard, un-bohemian kind of stable relationship. So the other option is that she just has a bad picker. She always falls for the wrong guy, whether it?s that French dude she?s divorcing (and everyone knew that would end in tears), Ryan Reynolds back when he was pretty douchey, Sean Penn when he was Peak Ham, or any of the other randoms she?s been with and tried to make into her boyfriends (remember when she was banging Justin Timberlake??). Anyway, Scarlett and her faulty picker have chosen a new boyfriend and it?s not SNL?s Colin Jost. It?s her entertainment lawer Kevin Yorn, the same guy she was seen out with a few weeks back.
Scarlett Johansson is moving on nearly four months after filing for divorce. The Rough Night star was first photographed holding hands with her high-profile entertainment lawyer, Kevin Yorn, a couple of weeks ago in New York City, but a source tells PEOPLE exclusively their new romance has been a long time coming.
?They?ve known each other for a very, very long time and genuinely liked each other outside of their working relationship,? says the source. ?Romantically, things developed organically. There?s always been an attraction there.?
Over the last several weeks, the new couple have been spending plenty of quality time together and ?literally talk all the time,? adds the source. They also have plenty in common aside from both working in the entertainment industry. Johansson, 32, is a loving mom to her 2-year-old daughter Rose Dorothy (with her ex Romain Dauriac), and Yorn, 51, has a daughter, Samantha, from a previous marriage.
?Kevin?s always been really great with Scarlett?s daughter,? says the source. ?He loves kids and she?s very family-oriented, so it goes without saying they are connected on that level.?
The Los Angeles-based lawyer has ?always been one of Scarlett?s strongest advocates? and the star ?personally leaned on him as a friend,? adds the source. While the relationship is still new, both Johansson and Yorn are looking forward to seeing where it goes. Says the source: ?Their relationship has been a little on-and-off, but it?s definitely on right now given that they can both stick to one place for the moment and actually be together.?
[From People]
Is this Scarlett?s new phase, where she needs the stability of a daddy-type who will look out for her and look out for her daughter? If it?s just a phase, it?s a horrible idea for her to get intimately involved with someone who works for her as her entertainment lawyer. If it?s the ?real deal,? then sure, I wish them well. I?m getting that familiar feeling though – that feeling of ?this will end in tears.? Don?t fool around with your lawyer, peeps!
This is Kevin Yorn. He?s not bad looking at all, but that facial hair is a NO.

| Scarlett Johansson in Michael Kors at the 'Rough Night' premiere: tired or cute' | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Last night was the big New York premiere of Rough Night, the raunchy girl comedy starring Scarlett Johansson, Zoe Kravitz, Ilana Glazer, Jillian Bell and Kate McKinnon. Let?s start with Scarlett. ScarJo wore Michael Kors and? the dress itself is not awful. Like, on another woman, I would talk about how it?s surprisingly good. But Scarlett doesn?t even seem to believe in this dress. Her styling is awful, she looks really tired and I feel like she?s probably regretting her hair now that everybody has the same cut. Apparently, ScarJo and Colin Jost (Josthansson?) were seen out on a date this past weekend, so maybe she?s legit tired because she?s been banging Jost non-stop. Who knows?
Ilana Glazer in Lanvin. I enjoy this more than I should. This suit reminds me of fancy silk pajamas. So it?s a win!
Zo Kravitz in Oscar de la Renta, with boyfriend Karl Glusman. Their relationship still feels very intense. They?ve been dating for less than, like, eight months. And they?ve already done several official appearances together. As for her de la Renta jumpsuit? it?s fine. I?m not crazy about the blonde pixie cut on Zoe, but it?s fine.
Kate McKinnon is a goddess in red. Love her. Apparently, she brought her girlfriend to the premiere too.
Demi Moore in Dior. This is, no joke, my favorite look of the premiere. I?m shocked that my favorite look is A) Dior and B) on Demi Moore. But here we are. The colors are interesting and unexpected. The design is simple. And Demi honestly looks great.

| Scarlett Johansson in Michael Kors at the Tony Awards: cute or dated? | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The annual Tony Awards were last night, and as everyone predicted, Dear Evan Hansen came out the big winner in what was called an especially ?dark season? for American theater. You can read more about the Tony Awards here. We?ll just be covering some of the fashion photos from the event. Here?s Scarlett Johansson in Michael Kors. Several of you have pointed out that Melania Trump is actually influencing the latest lines, especially when we see the comeback of shoulder pads and big statement belts. Maybe that?s true. This Michael Kors look does seem like something Melania would wear. So? yeah, I don?t love it.
Olivia Wilde in Michael Kors. This is not the look for Olivia. Which is weird – she?s tall, slender and she could wear just about anything. But not this. Plus, it feels like her hair and makeup is not helping out the look at all.
Bette Midler in Michael Kors. I love the Divine Miss M, but doesn?t she look like Joy Behar with her hair like this??
I feel like Candice Swanepoel misread the room/event. This Prabal Gurung dress is pretty/sexy, but most women don?t go for sexy/see-through at the Tonys.
Alek Wek in Oscar de la Renta. BOOTS. The LBD is boring. But look at the boots!
Allison Janney, killing it in Cristina Ottaviano. Janney is FIRE.

I keep forgetting that Scarlett Johansson is single! Scarlett split with Romain Dauriac late last year, and she filed for divorce back in February/March, which is when it seemed like they were going to have a huge custody battle. We haven?t heard much about that drama in a few months, so hopefully Scarlett and Romain are working through it privately, although it?s safe to say that their marriage is absolutely dead. So Scarlett is single and ready to mingle. She?s also got some time off, which is why she made a cameo appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend. She did her Ivanka Trump impression for the cold open:
It was sort of cute and considering it was the season finale of SNL, it was nice to see all of the cast members dressed up as those Trump people. God knows what will happen over the summer, and by the time the new season of SNL starts, we could have a President Pence. But that?s not the point of the story! The point is Scarlett was hanging out with the SNL cast and she may have found a new boyfriend!
Scarlett Johansson?s appearance on ?Saturday Night Live? was such a hit, she ended up making out with ?Weekend Update? co-host Colin Jost at the after-party, multiple sources exclusively confirmed to Page Six. ScarJo had appeared in the cold open for Saturday?s ?SNL? season finale, hosted by Dwayne Johnson, in which she played Ivanka Trump. After the show, the actress, who is currently going through a divorce, hit it off with handsome comedian Jost at the boozy after-party held at the ice rink at Rockefeller Center, which raged into the early hours of Sunday morning.
A witness told Page Six, ?Scarlett and Colin were making out at the bar at the ?SNL? season finale party at 30 Rock .?.?. They would make out a bit, then go back to talking,? says the source. ?They were at the bar in front of everyone .?.?. they made out at least twice .?.?. Then they went back to talking and hanging with other people.?
Another source confirmed, ?Scarlett and Colin were flirting and canoodling in full view of everyone at the after-party, including the ?SNL? cast and crew. They were laughing and seemed to really hit it off.?
[From Page Six]
I sort of don?t hate this. I realized as I read this that it?s been a long time since Scarlett has been with someone I find attractive. I thought Romain looked like a serial killer. I think Sean Penn looks like a ham hock. I?ve never really been into Ryan Reynolds. But Colin Jost? I get it. He?s a cutie. He?s funny and ?normal? and he seems like a nice guy. He?s 34 years old, and Scarlett is 32, which blew my mind. Colin has such a babyface! Anyway, this actually doesn?t sound like the beginning of some grand new relationship. It sounds more like Scarlett got some action over the weekend and maybe that was it.

| Scarlett Johansson could see herself running for office when Rose is older | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
True story: I live in a (gerrymandered) Congressional district with a population of mostly hard-right conservatives. The Democratic Party has long written off my district, and even when a Democrat or Independent runs against the incumbent Republican a–hole, those candidates rarely have any financial support. I?ve often pondered the idea of running against the guy just to make a f–king point, but I know it would be more hassle than it?s worth. What I?m saying is? I spend too much time daydreaming about what it would be like to run for office when there is literally no shot at winning. I have a feeling that Scarlett Johansson has similar daydreams.
Scarlett Johansson may soon ditch Hollywood for a life in politics. The ?Ghost in the Shell? star conceded during a recent interview that she wouldn?t be opposed to running for office.
?I?ve always been interested in local politics,? Johansson said during a chat with Michael Strahan. ?Right now I think with my young daughter, and also as my career is going right now, it?s not the right time. But eventually, maybe if my daughter was older and I could totally focus myself on something like that, I think it could be interesting.?
[From CBS News]
This is something Nancy Pelosi has talked about before, that so many women are interested in politics and interested in running for office, but they ultimately decide not to run until their kids are adults. Men don?t have to make those kinds of decisions and choices. In fact, if a man is a father with young children, that?s seen as an asset to his public image. So, should Scarlett run for office? Meh. I would imagine that in her daydreams, she?s thinking about joining the New York City Council and then maybe a mayoral run, perhaps? And why not?
Also: the box office predictions for Ghost in the Shell are all over the place. Some want to believe that the movie can ?beat? Beauty and the Beast. Doubtful. I think Boss Baby will do well though. Also: GQ had a great piece on Ghost?s whitewashing mess.

Here are some photos of Scarlett Johansson at last night?s New York premiere of Ghost in the Shell. I have to say? this might be my favorite gown that Scarlett has ever worn. This is Balmain. It has clean lines. It makes her look taller. It?s super-flattering. It has a vague ?70s vibe which really works. I love this. Scarlett also debuted a new shorter haircut, possibly because her haircut last month was looking very ?Kate Gosselin.? She seems to have shaved her sides. Meh. But the dress? the dress makes this work.
So, that was the nice stuff. Now for some not-so-nice stuff. Apparently, Ghost in the Shell is a total mess. I can?t even figure out if people think the film is good because we?re still talking about how the movie is super-whitewashed. Scarlett has repeatedly said in interviews (including interviews this week) that ?I would never attempt to play a person of a different race, obviously. Hopefully, any question that comes up of my casting will be answered by audiences when they see the film.? She?s playing a character who was originally (in the source material) called Major Motoko Kusanagi.
SPOILERS BELOW.
Sooo, guess what, you guys? Scarlett IS playing a Japanese character. The brain of a Japanese woman, Major Motoko Kusanagi, was placed inside the (white) ?shell? of Scarlett?s robot-body. Nerds of Color saw an early preview of the film.
Well, yes it is whitewashed because Scarlett Johansson does not belong in the role of the Major, but man it gets worse. From the sneak peak footage I saw, it looks the Major is originally Japanese. Let me explain. It appears that the character is in a nearly fatal accident. This accident causes her body to be rendered useless, but her brain is the only thing that can be salvaged. So this Japanese woman whose brain is recovered is transferred into a body, or Shell, that just happens to be Scarlett Johannson?s new body. Now her name is ?Mira.?
This is horrifying.
The ?yellow face? comments hold merit because there is a scene that shows Mira awakening in her new body. That particular shot is suspect as Johannson looks? well? Asian. Even the cut of her eyebrows makes me side eye. However, nothing about the Major has ever screamed WHITE WOMAN. That is in the imagination of people who default to whiteness.
So, not only has the role been whitewashed but they start with a Japanese woman and put her brain in a white body. So what does this say? It says that an Asian actress was an afterthought and that Asian visibility wasn?t valuable enough to carry this through to the end. This is made worse by Daisuke Aramaki (Takeshi Kitano) continuing to speak Japanese to her character at the beginning. Wait, what? I understand many non-Japanese folks can speak Japanese, but since her brain is that of a Japanese woman, she still retains her mother tongue. It?s just on the outside she looks white and is named Mira.
[From Nerds of Color]
So, yeah. A lot of early reviews are talking about this too, and it wouldn?t surprise me at all if the critical response to this film is overwhelmingly bad, merely based on this one issue. Now, all that being said, I hate the fact that Scarlett is the one who will have to take ?the hit? for this. While she should take a hit – it was her choice to do this movie, after all, and chica is NOT poor – it?s also the fault of the screenwriters, director, producers and the studio. A lot of people made a lot of bad choices here.

| Scarlett Johansson in Azzedine Alaïa at Paris premiere: cute or unflattering? | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Noted Asian actress Scarlett Johansson premiered her new film, Ghost in the Shell, in Paris last night, and these are some photos from the premiere. ScarJo is playing a Japanese robot in the movie adapted from the Japanese manga series, but don?t worry, it?s fine, they changed the character?s name to ?Major? as opposed to the original name ?Major Motoko Kusanagi.?
Scarlett wore Azzedine Alaa to the Paris premiere – she actually used two pieces from two different runway looks to make this outfit – you can see the two runway looks here. I kind of think she should have kept the ?chevron striped? ensemble together and it would have been a much stronger look. The feather skirt looks like a fluffy bathmat in some of these photos, I?m just sayin?.
Meanwhile, ScarJo had an exclusive interview with The Mail on Sunday. It was actually conducted just days before her divorce filing from Romain, which is when their custody battle really began. You can read the Mail piece here. Some of the quotes are interesting, especially this one about how – as a twin – she?s never really been alone in her life:
?I?ve realised in the past couple of years that I have never actually been alone. I have always been with somebody. And in those first moments of life, even just the spark of it, having somebody else there must affect one, right? Because of that, I?m learning now how to be alone just with myself. But it?s challenging. It doesn?t mean that I don?t feel alone at times or lonely, but I?m realising that I?ve always had this other half out there.?
[From The Daily Mail]
I?ve never really thought of Scarlett as one of those ?I can never be alone? women, like Jennifer Lopez. Scarlett always seemed less needy, like she enjoyed the company of men but didn?t NEED to always have a man. Although I?ve been wondering for a while if Scarlett and Romain are over because Scarlett has a jumpoff. Incidentally, did you know that her Ghost in the Shell director is Rupert Sanders, the same guy who destroyed his marriage by having an affair with Kristen Stewart? Huh.

| Scarlett Johansson in Azzedine Alaia at the Oscars: lovely or nope? | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Let?s face it: this year?s Oscars were not really a buffet of brilliant fashion choices. During the red carpet show, I even bitched about how this was possibly the most boring and worst-dressed Oscars in recent memory. I stand by that. So in a shallow pool of options, I honestly didn?t hate these two dresses, despite some Twitter angst about them. Scarlett Johansson went for this colorful, patterned Azzedine Alaia gown which – by virtue of the sea of beiges and creams on the carpet – really stood out and looked fresh and pretty. Is this a perfect gown? Not at all. The bust is? odd, and the fabric really isn?t that special. It looks sort of ?70s-key-party. But I still like it. I don?t even mind Scarlett?s hair here, even though I still say she?s channeling Kate Gosselin.
Another imperfect but likeable gown was Brie Larson?s Oscar de la Renta. I love everything from the waist up and I respect the structure and origami-like stuff at the bottom. I like that she made everything about the dress – her styling is incidental to the big statement dress. I actually think this is my favorite neckline of the Oscars!

| Scarlett Johansson: 'I don't think it's natural to be a monogamous person' | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Scarlett Johansson is this month?s Playboy interview, and I actually enjoyed it. I didn?t read all of it because, hello, it?s crazy long and I don?t care about Scarlett that much. But I read most of it and skimmed the rest. They must have conducted the interview well before Scarlett and Romain announced their split, because she refers to her ?husband? a few times. Overall though, it seems more like she?s been living as a single mother for a while, and her daughter Rose just stays with her while Romain does whatever. There?s a lot of information in here, most of which I won?t get into, but here are the biggest reveals and highlights (you can read the full piece here):
On the controversy of The Ghost in the Shell and playing a character that could have gone to a Japanese actress: ?Totally. I think the conversation about diversity in Hollywood is an important one and one that we should be having. My character has the unique experience of being a person whose human brain has been put into what was essentially a synthetic robotic body. I guess I always thought the character was a universal one, in the sense that she has no identity, and the heart of this story is her search for an identity. I hope that whatever questions people have about my casting in this film will be answered by actually seeing the movie. It?s hard to say, because you haven?t seen the movie yet, and there?s a part of it that I don?t want to talk about because it?s the turning point of the movie, but I think it answers the question for the audience as to who I am, who I was and what my true identity is, and it has nothing to do with how my character looks or how you see me.
Being able to be vulnerable & humble: ?It?s something Barack Obama has?humility. It?s such a lovely quality. There are a lot of things about him that will be missed, but humility is such an important part of being successful at what you do?.I actually think it will become very apparent that a leader cannot be successful if they don?t have that?if they?re not able to be vulnerable, curious, compassionate, to have that kind of humility. I don?t think you can lead in any field without having those qualities. That?s what makes a leader, I think: the ability to learn from mistakes and to have compassion for your fellow man.
How she feels post-election: ?You know, it?s funny. I had dinner with Woody Allen right after the election, so it was in November. We were both like, ?Okay, the election. That?s our topic before we get deep into what the meaning of life is.? And I said, ?Please don?t tell me you?re one of those people who was like, ?I told you so.? Please don?t tell me that.? And he was like, ?Honestly, I was shocked. I would have thought that he would not have won one state.? And I thought, Okay, well, if Woody felt that way, it makes me feel better about being as ignorant as I was, because I literally?I mean, it was a complete and utter shock.?
Her Election Day experience: ?I had a very strange experience voting. I took my kid with me, and I was like, ?Kid, we got a female president, which is pretty exciting. And it?s Hillary Clinton; that?s also cool, and we?re good.? Then I got on a plane to Hong Kong, which is a 16-hour flight. I had two glasses of wine and passed out. I woke up 10 hours later, and the stewardess was like, ?Excuse me, Miss, would you like to know the election results?? I looked at her and said, ?Well, I know it?s?okay, what? Give me the news. Let me have it. What is it? I think I know it?s Clinton.? And she was like, ?No, it?s actually Trump.? I thought, This is a Twilight Zone episode. I mean, I?m shuttling through the air at 30,000 feet. The whole cabin is dark, my brother is passed out, and I tap him on the shoulder?he was a field organizer for Obama; he?s very political?and I say, ?Hunter, wake up, wake up!? He was like, ?What?? I said, ?Trump won.? He was like, ?Oh, stop it.? God, he got so drunk when we landed in Hong Kong. This morning I was listening to NPR, and I have these moments when it still hits me, the weight of it.
She?s said before that she isn?t sure humans are designed to be monogamous. ?Well, with every gain there?s a loss, right? So that?s a loss. You have to choose a path. I think the idea of marriage is very romantic; it?s a beautiful idea, and the practice of it can be a very beautiful thing. I don?t think it?s natural to be a monogamous person. I might be skewered for that, but I think it?s work. It?s a lot of work. And the fact that it is such work for so many people?for everyone?the fact of that proves that it is not a natural thing. It?s something I have a lot of respect for and have participated in, but I think it definitely goes against some instinct to look beyond.?
On marriage in general. ?I think marriage initially involves a lot of people who have nothing to do with your relationship, because it?s a legally binding contract, and that has a weight to it. Being married is different than not being married, and anybody who tells you that it?s the same is lying. It changes things. I have friends who were together for 10 years and then decided to get married, and I?ll ask them on their wedding day or right after if it?s different, and it always is. It is. It?s a beautiful responsibility, but it?s a responsibility.
[From Playboy]
What do you think about Scarlett?s anti-monogamy talk? The thing is, I don?t think she?s anti-monogamy, I think she?s just trying to be realistic and self-aware? Like, I appreciate that she?s not trying to sell herself as Little Miss Monogamy or Senora Pure Thoughts. She?s had two marriages go down the tubes, for a variety of reasons, and one of those reasons might be that she fools around. She?s not saying people are incapable of being with only one person – she?s saying it?s a lot of work and some/many people fail at it. As for her political talk? the most controversial thing is that she was having dinner with Woody Allen post-election. Ew.

| Scarlett Johansson 'has a habit of falling for a guy & moving really fast' | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
A week ago, we learned that Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac had separated and would likely be headed towards divorce. The news wasn?t some huge bombshell – they didn?t seem to have anything in common, Scarlett didn?t seem happy living in Paris and their whole relationship just seemed like one giant question mark. That being said, no one expected much drama from the split. Hours after People Magazine confirmed their separation, Romain and ScarJo were photographed together at some event, and they looked chummy and happy. So what really went down behind-the-scenes? First off, Us Weekly?s ?insider? dished last week:
?Scarlett initiated splitting up and made the decision,? the insider tells Us, explaining that ?she felt like they didn’t have much in common as far as lifestyle.? Differences aside though, the exes ?have an amicable relationship? and plan to co-parent their 2-year-old daughter, Rose, the insider tells Us. ?She feels blessed to have a daughter,? the source adds.
[From Us Weekly]
Which is pretty much what I assumed anyway – Scarlett was done and she called it quits, but there are no hard feelings and she?ll always care about Romain because they have a daughter together. So what else is there to say? People Mag has a new piece about how ScarJo moves through men:
?Scarlett has a habit of falling for a guy and moving really fast,? a source tells PEOPLE in this week?s issue. ?She has intense relationships,? the insider notes of Johansson.
?I?ve been expecting this for some time,? says a source in Dauriac?s circle. ?Romain and Scarlett never made sense to me. They aren?t equal. There?s always been something wrong with this picture.?
[From People]
Does Scarlett move fast? That quote made me think of her crazy relationship with Sean Penn several years ago. It felt like she was really into him (or really into ham, dealer?s choice) and it was super-intense and passionate and then? it was over. I don’t think it’s so much that Scarlett moves fast as she moves on quickly, you know? I think when she’s done with someone, she’s done and she’s ready for the next guy. So is Scarlett a man-eater or does she just want that reputation?
