Who announces their engagement on the night of the Game of Thrones finale? Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost did, and I can?t decide if that was a move designed to NOT get attention, or whether they really believed that their engagement deserved a late-breaking Sunday announcement, like it would dominate headlines for the week. It will not be some huge surprise, especially considering that ?sources? were previewing this engagement back in March, to People Magazine. Now it?s official ScarJo?s publicist exclusively confirmed the news to the Associated Press.
Wedding bells are in the future for actress Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost of ?Saturday Night Live.? Johansson?s publicist Marcel Pariseau tells The Associated Press Sunday that the private couple is officially engaged after two years of dating. Pariseau says no date has been set for the nuptials.
Johansson, 34, was previously married to actor Ryan Reynolds and journalist Romain Dauriac, with whom she has a daughter named Rose who was born in 2014. This is the first marriage for the 36-year-old Jost, who is the co-anchor of SNL?s Weekend Update.

Doesn?t it feel like ScarJo has been married more than twice? I barely even remember her marriage to Ryan Reynolds, honestly, and I think that was just such a mistake for both of them. The marriage to Romain was also a big mistake he was just such a random French dude and I still don?t understand any of that but he?s the father of their daughter and I would assume that they get along well enough these days. Colin Jost will probably be another mistake for her, but props to Scarlett for not jumping into the relationship and immediately eloping with the guy. She and Colin have been happening for two years. Whatever. Congrats. Scars #3 is a bro.

I?m breaking up the many photos from last night?s Avengers: Endgame premiere into several posts. I?m doing that because god bless it, the premiere wasn?t a total sausage party and there were actually some interesting fashion looks from the ladies (and some of the gents). So behold, here?s Scarlett Johansson actually looking like the va-va-voom bombshell we used to know. For too long, she was doing funky things to her hair, but she?s back to longer hair and a good blonde. Her tight AF dress is Versace and it?s honestly great and super-flattering. Her date was her boyfriend Colin Jost. I bet they totally get married this year.
Here?s Sebastian Stan in a blue suit. I?ve never really gotten hyped for him, but enjoy.
Chris Evans was also in blue and again, I know a lot of people (like Hecate) have all the feels for him. I do like him better with the beard his hair doesn?t look great here though?

I like that Evangeline Lilly wore a suit, but this suit is terrible and her hair sucks too. Damn.

Scarlett Johansson is ticked off and I don?t blame her. Apparently, after her appearance with Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Paul Rudd on Jimmy Kimmel the other night, a barrage of paparazzi overcame her security team and chased her to a police station as she sought refuge. LAPD confirmed that Scarlett and her team were taken to the Hollywood station for security reasons but that no official crime report was taken. LAPD also confirmed the incident left Scarlett spooked. Now, Scarlett is making it clear that she was chased down and that its not right.
Scarlett Johansson is offering a response after her security team was overpowered by paparazzi on Monday.
The paparazzi consistently go to increasingly dangerous lengths to stalk and harass the people they are photographing, she wrote in a statement obtained by ET. Even after Princess Diana?s tragic death, the laws were never changed to protect targets from the lawless paparazzi. Many paparazzi have criminal pasts and will perform criminal acts to get their shot.
Yesterday, after leaving the Jimmy Kimmel Show, I was followed by 5 cars full of men with blacked out windows who were running red lights and putting other drivers and pedestrians at risk so they could follow me to find out where I was staying and subsequently stalk me and my young daughter for the duration of my stay, she continued.
The paparazzi put peoples live at risk, so they can wait for days in quiet neighborhoods in blacked out cars, and try to follow me to the playground and photograph my child and other people?s children in a safe place that should be off limits, but isn?t, the 34-year-old actress added. All of this is perfectly legal. After yesterday?s incident, I felt it was my duty as a concerned citizen who was being pursued dangerously and stalked to go to the local precinct and seek guidance there. I would encourage others in a similar situation to go to the police.
Women across the US are stalked, harassed and frightened and a universal law to address stalking must be at the forefront of law enforcement conversations. Until paparazzi are considered by the law for the criminal stalkers they are, it?s just a waiting game before another person gets seriously injured or killed, like Princess Diana, she concluded.

Much like Hilary Duff?s experience with a paparazzo following her for hours while she was still pregnant, I find Scarlett?s descriptions of how the paparazzi tail her and her daughter horrifying. I can?t even imagine how aggressive these guys must have been to overpower her security team. If they were running red lights and driving unsafely, I?m not sure why a crime report couldn?t be filed. Kimmel?s stage door is a well-known photo spot, what shot were they looking for that required five cars giving chase? These actors are everywhere during Avengers promotion, we know this from past promotions. I wonder if the male actors there that night had similar experiences. As Scarlett mentioned, women are constantly stalked but we really don?t hear these harrowing accounts for men.
I?m curious about Scarlett?s comment that most paparazzi are criminals. I can?t find anything to confirm that. I do agree that much of their behavior should fall under harassment laws. And then there?s plain old common decency, like not chasing a person down the street in a car or trying to photograph someone with cancer after a chemo treatment or, again, stalking a pregnant woman. Im glad she encouraged others to go to the police. If there are enough reports, maybe changes will happen.

Here are some photos from the American Museum Of Natural History Gala 2018, which was very heavily attended by current Saturday Night Live people and SNL alums. Going from memory, that?s always the case I wonder if SNL has some kind of deal with the museum or something? Anyway, the biggest name at the event was a ?girlfriend of? an SNL cast member: Colin Jost brought his girlfriend Scarlett Johansson to the event. They?ve been each other?s dates for a lot of events over the past year, year and a half. I don?t hate it, because they?re doing it equally he supports her at her work events, and she supports him at his work events. I guess they?re going strong? I hope she doesn?t marry him, and I?ll be interested in seeing her next boyfriend. She tends to follow up a ?normal boyfriend? with some guy who is an utter trainwreck.
As for her look? I mean, I think this is the best ScarJo has looked in a really long time? Her hair is a great length, the color suits her and she seems to have gained some weight back (she looks healthy). Her dress is J. Mendel and it?s super-flattering and pretty.

Here are some photos from last night?s People?s Choice Awards. Let me tell you something, kids: I remember a time when the People?s Choice Awards were the start of the awards season, and they aired the first week in January. People treated the PCAs like a joke back then, but for the past few years, they?ve been bringing up the PCAs earlier and earlier. I think they?re hoping it makes the PCAs more relevant. They are not. Fifty Shades Freed won Best Drama. You can see the full list of winners here.
This year?s PCAs got a half-decent turnout, mostly because celebrities are told in advance that if they show up, they?ll win *something*. Scarlett Johansson took home the ?Movie Actress 2018? award. Yeah, I don?t know about that, but sure. She wore this Versace ensemble which? is kind of odd. I get the bustier, and I know what she?s trying to accomplish there. But the high-waisted trousers with waist zippers and a chunky belt? What??
I adore Christina Hendricks, I think she?s super-talented, really pretty and I like that a really curvy, busty woman finds work. But her red carpet style has always struggled so hard. This might be one of the worst looks I?ve ever seen on her a Temperley London jumpsuit which is SO unflattering, and flat-ass center-parted bangs?? Ugh.
Mila Kunis in Alex Perry this is a very simple LBD. It?s flattering and very wearable. I hope she bought this rather than borrowed it, because she will be able to wear this anywhere, to any event.
Victoria Beckham in Victoria Beckham a simple enough suit, flattering but not really the greatest suit ever.
Rita Ora in Atelier Versace. It?s just too much. It?s too much for the PCAs, it?s too much on her specifically, and yet? she sort of belongs here.

I?m sure I?ve talked about this before, but I really question the math and the calculating formula Forbes uses to compile most of their listicles. I?m reminded of that with Forbes? latest list of the ?highest paid actresses? in Hollywood. Forbes takes into account actresses? side-projects, like ad campaigns and endorsement deals? but only in some cases. Like, how is Jessica Alba not one of the ?highest paid actresses?? Because girl is making serious money off The Honest Company, but she?s just not making money from acting? Same with Gwyneth Paltrow she?s getting rich off of selling organic snake oil to dumb rich women, but she?s not making money from acting anymore either. Neither Paltrow nor Alba made Forbes? list. No, Scarlett Johansson topped the list, mostly because of her Marvel contract. Which, again, I question why Forbes thinks ScarJo is making such major bank with Marvel. Marvel notoriously underpays their stars. Here?s the list:
Scarlett Johansson has topped Forbes? annual ranking of Hollywood?s highest-paid actresses, surpassing Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston who came in at number two and three, respectively. Emma Stone claimed the spot in 2017 with a cool $26 million, but Johansson ? who has a number of Marvel films under her belt ? brought in a huge $40.5 million this year, Forbes reported. Marvel?s Avengers films are certainly a big reason for the actress? earnings, with another film on the way which will feature Johansson?s Black Widow in 2019.
Johansson released two movies in 2017, Rough Night and Ghost in the Shell, for which she earned backlash for portraying a Japanese character. This year, the actress has starred in Isle of Dogs and Avengers: Infinity War.
The Avengers: Infinity War actress was followed closely by Jolie who came in at No. 2 with $28 million for the year. Behind Jolie is longtime fan favorite Aniston who earned $19.5 million, who made most of her earnings from lucrative deals with Emirates airlines, Smartwater and Aveeno, the magazine reported. Jennifer Lawrence comes in at No. 4, with Reese Witherspoon just behind her with $16.5 million from recent success in producing and starring in Big Little Lies. Others rounding out the list include Cate Blanchett ($12.5 million) and Wonder Woman?s Gal Gadot ($10 million).

Disney likely is paying Angelina big-time for Maleficent 2, plus she has endorsement deals, like her contract with Guerlain. Except she?s already said that the Guerlain money is going to charity, so again, I question these calculations. Out of this group, I suspect it?s Jennifer Aniston who has made the most money, and very little of it if from acting. Aniston has huge deals with SmartWater, Aveeno, Emirates and Living Proof. She?s getting backends from Living Proof and SmartWater. And on top of that, she?s flipping mansions for crazy profits. Also: how much is Dior paying Jennifer Lawrence, because I thought her Dior contract alone would put her at the top of the list? And how much did Scarlett get paid to be Asian in Ghost In the Shell? So many questions.

A few weeks ago, Scarlett Johansson was cast as a transgender man in Rub & Tug, the true story of Dante ?Tex? Gill, who ran a massage parlor in ?70s Pittsburgh. As soon as Scarlett?s casting was announced, everyone was like ?seriously, do we need a cisgendered actress to play this role?? The casting announcement was bad enough, especially coming on the heels of the horrific Ghost in the Shell nonsense, where Scarlett lied about playing a Japanese character. But then Scarlett doubled down and arrogantly defended her casting by releasing this statement: ?Tell them that they can be directed to Jeffrey Tambor, Jared Leto, and Felicity Huffman?s reps for comment.? As in, those are cisgendered actors who played trans characters and Scarlett wanted to do it too, damn it. So, long story short, Scarlett was canceled far and wide and so now she?s pulling out of Rub & Tug. She released a statement to Out Magazine:
In light of recent ethical questions raised surrounding my casting as Dante Tex Gill, I have decided to respectfully withdraw my participation in the project. Our cultural understanding of transgender people continues to advance, and I?ve learned a lot from the community since making my first statement about my casting and realize it was insensitive. I have great admiration and love for the trans community and am grateful that the conversation regarding inclusivity in Hollywood continues. According to GLAAD, LGBTQ+ characters dropped 40% in 2017 from the previous year, with no representation of trans characters in any major studio release. While I would have loved the opportunity to bring Dante?s story and transition to life, I understand why many feel he should be portrayed by a transgender person, and I am thankful that this casting debate, albeit controversial, has sparked a larger conversation about diversity and representation in film. I believe that all artists should be considered equally and fairly. My production company, These Pictures, actively pursues projects that both entertain and push boundaries. We look forward to working with every community to bring these most poignant and important stories to audiences worldwide.

That?s as close as we?ll ever get to Scarlett full-on admitting that she made a terrible mistake and that she compounded that mistake by issuing a tone-deaf statement in her own defense. The only thing I?ll say in Scarlett?s defense is that she?s right that trans issues have moved very quickly into public discourse, and that it is legitimately difficult (sometimes) to keep up with the conversations happening now. That being said, I feel like if you?re an cisgendered actress taking a role of a trans man, you should perhaps acquaint yourself with those conversations before even breathing a word of it publicly.

I had actually forgotten all about this, but in 2014, Scarlett Johansson said a lot of stupid words about working with Woody Allen. They made Match Point, Scoop and Vicky Christina Barcelona together, and for a time, ScarJo was considered one of Woody?s greatest ?muses.? She was asked, shortly after Dylan Farrow first went public with her scathing op-ed that year, if she would ever work with with Woody again. Scarlett said: ?I don?t see why anyone wouldn?t.? She was asked in greater depth about the Dylan op-ed in an interview with the Guardian in 2014, and here?s what she said:
?I think it?s irresponsible to take a bunch of actors that will have a Google alert on and to suddenly throw their name into a situation that none of us could possibly knowingly comment on. That just feels irresponsible to me. I?m unaware that there?s been a backlash [against Woody]. I think he?ll continue to know what he knows about the situation, and I?m sure the other people involved have their own experience with it. It?s not like this is somebody that?s been prosecuted and found guilty of something, and you can then go, ?I don?t support this lifestyle or whatever.? I mean, it?s all guesswork. I don?t know anything about it. It would be ridiculous for me to make any kind of assumption one way or the other.”

?I mean, it?s all guesswork.? Yeah. That?s the thing about believing women, right? When Dylan Farrow writes down what happened to her, you have to make a choice about whether you believe her. When Dylan Farrow goes on CBS This Morning and says, on camera, what happened to her, you make a choice then too. Yes, it is he said/she said. Yes, we don?t have ?proof? and ?evidence? or a criminal conviction. It?s guesswork in that we?re ?guessing? (choosing) whom to believe.
Why this trip down memory lane? Because Scarlett Johansson got up at the Women?s March over the weekend and burned James Franco.
She said: ?My mind baffles? How could a person publicly stand by an organization that helps to provide support for victims of sexual assault while privately praying on people who have no power? I want my pin back, by the way.? She also seems to be alluding to Aziz Ansari too. So? it?s a thing. Everybody is on hyper-vigilant Hypocrisy Watch these days so of course Scarlett?s 2014 comments about Woody Allen were brought up. Why is it all ?guesswork? when it involves Woody Allen, and yet it?s not just ?guesswork? when it involves James Franco? Franco hasn’t been convicted of anything either, and the only evidence we have is women coming forward and telling their stories, like Dylan Farrow did. Why does Scarlett believe Franco?s victims? stories and not believe Dylan Farrow?
I should note, however, that I find the gleeful nature of calling out ScarJo’s hypocrisy to be unseemly in some quarters, mostly because she’s been an object of derision by ultra-conservatives for a long time. Like, call her out for being a hypocrite, for sure. But… I don’t know, there are so many alt-right d-bags who hate her, it makes me feel protective of her a little bit.

In “Who cares as long as she?s happy” news, Scarlett Johansson is not only successfully swimming in, but pretty much ruling the dating pool. The 32-year-old actress, who split from husband Romain Dauriac last year, has had some pretty high-profile dates since joining the ranks of “single and ready to mingle-dom.” Back in May, she hooked up with Saturday Night Live writer/performer Colin Jost at one of the show?s infamous after parties. Most people viewed it as two people just having fun, but the pair were spotted smooching at a swanky party in the Hamptons just this past Saturday night. Could this be more than a fling?
In addition to spending time with Colin, Scarlett has spent some time in her social calendar with her attorney, Kevin Yorn. Scarlett was first spotted holding hands with Kevin in June. Since then, they?ve been spotted out together, but their relationship isn?t very cut and dried. A source told People that even though the two are ?openly dating people,? there are some mutual feelings that ?haven?t fizzled? between them. Will these feelings evolve into something more? According to the source, that?s not likely. ?[Yorn?s] not ?the one? for her or anything like that. They genuinely enjoy each other?s company and that will never change.?
Even though their relationship can safely be described as complicated, the two still make time for each other. Says the (chatty) source, ?They?re still seeing each other but are busy and have a lot of commitments, so when they get moments of time, that?s when they make the effort to see each other outside of their work exchanges.? But, whatever they?re doing, don?t call it dating, as ?Dating wouldn?t be the right word for their current status.? Kevin has pretty much plead the fifth on his relationship with Scarlett, keeping ?very quiet about it among friends and colleagues because of how it may appear on the outside.?
After my divorce, I was dating a few guys at the same time, there?s nothing wrong with it if everybody?s on board – especially since it doesn?t look like anyone is in the market for a serious thing. It sure appears that Scarlett?s not hiding either relationship, so I can only assume this love triangle is sanctioned by all parties. There?s plenty of time to settle down, so sow those oats, Miss Scarlett.

True or false: Scarlett Johansson has a faulty picker. That literally just occurred to me as I was considering writing this story. You could make the argument that Scarlett is sort of screwed up about men and relationships, but I truly believe that if she found the right guy, she would actually be very content in a pretty standard, un-bohemian kind of stable relationship. So the other option is that she just has a bad picker. She always falls for the wrong guy, whether it?s that French dude she?s divorcing (and everyone knew that would end in tears), Ryan Reynolds back when he was pretty douchey, Sean Penn when he was Peak Ham, or any of the other randoms she?s been with and tried to make into her boyfriends (remember when she was banging Justin Timberlake??). Anyway, Scarlett and her faulty picker have chosen a new boyfriend and it?s not SNL?s Colin Jost. It?s her entertainment lawer Kevin Yorn, the same guy she was seen out with a few weeks back.
Scarlett Johansson is moving on nearly four months after filing for divorce. The Rough Night star was first photographed holding hands with her high-profile entertainment lawyer, Kevin Yorn, a couple of weeks ago in New York City, but a source tells PEOPLE exclusively their new romance has been a long time coming.
?They?ve known each other for a very, very long time and genuinely liked each other outside of their working relationship,? says the source. ?Romantically, things developed organically. There?s always been an attraction there.?
Over the last several weeks, the new couple have been spending plenty of quality time together and ?literally talk all the time,? adds the source. They also have plenty in common aside from both working in the entertainment industry. Johansson, 32, is a loving mom to her 2-year-old daughter Rose Dorothy (with her ex Romain Dauriac), and Yorn, 51, has a daughter, Samantha, from a previous marriage.
?Kevin?s always been really great with Scarlett?s daughter,? says the source. ?He loves kids and she?s very family-oriented, so it goes without saying they are connected on that level.?
The Los Angeles-based lawyer has ?always been one of Scarlett?s strongest advocates? and the star ?personally leaned on him as a friend,? adds the source. While the relationship is still new, both Johansson and Yorn are looking forward to seeing where it goes. Says the source: ?Their relationship has been a little on-and-off, but it?s definitely on right now given that they can both stick to one place for the moment and actually be together.?

Is this Scarlett?s new phase, where she needs the stability of a daddy-type who will look out for her and look out for her daughter? If it?s just a phase, it?s a horrible idea for her to get intimately involved with someone who works for her as her entertainment lawyer. If it?s the ?real deal,? then sure, I wish them well. I?m getting that familiar feeling though – that feeling of ?this will end in tears.? Don?t fool around with your lawyer, peeps!
