These are photos from the NY premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which is out on December 14 and is sure to clean up around the holidays. I’ll probably see it, I loved the Lord of The Rings trilogy, although I found some of the movies too long to sit through. Let’s see… this film is 2 hours and 46 minutes long. WHY?!!! Please do not do this to us again, Peter Jackson. Cut some of the scenes where the merry band of travelers is hanging out around campfires and chatting while they trudge toward their destination. You know this movie is full of them. If I could just get away with skipping this film, I wouldn’t care, but I badly want to see it and I’m torn. I don’t give a three hour chunk of time to anything without multi-tasking.
Anyway everyone is focusing on the lovely Liv Tyler at the premiere, which is understandable since she’s the main female celebrity there. Cate Blanchett didn’t show up, but she was at the LA premiere so I’ll give her a pass. I would have loved to see her though. I adore Liv, and I’m giving her a pass for this bad outfit since she makes up for it by being Liv. She’s like Cate Blanchett to me in that way (not that she’s on the same level as Blanchett acting-wise, and I’m hoping I don’t offend Blanchett superfans with this declaration). Liv can wear a weird short satin skirt, a bizarre tattered ruffle shirt, a formal jacket, black pantyhose and some super fug red bow heels and not look awful. She’s wearing open-toed shoes with pantyhose, and you don’t do that Liv! Just no. I do like how she matched her lipstick to her shoes though. She’s so gorgeous. I don’t have a designer ID on that outfit but I’m betting Stella McCartney is involved somehow.
Also there was star Martin Freeman. He is so wonderful in Sherlock. I hope this is his big breakout role and that he’s cast in more movies now. I really adore him.

Aidan Turner. I haven’t heard much about him but I guess he’s a 29 year-old Irish actor. He’s playing a Hobbit dwarf named “Kili.” Very hot.
Gollum himself, Andy Serkis. I heard him explain that he got the inspiration for his character’s voice by hearing his cat cough up a hairball.
Lee Pace, he plays Thranduil. I love his sideburns!

Taking a break from her busy schedule, Liv Tyler scored herself a feature in the November 2012 issue of Vs magazine.
The 35-year-old actress adorned herself in Givenchy garb while accessorizing with Ole Lynggaard jewelry for the hot Helena Christensen shot spread. During the shoot, she dished about topics including her childhood, family and career.

On portraying a character for a movie or photo shoot:
"When I?m making a movie or thinking of a woman I?m going to play it starts with a feeling and a connection; it just happens and it grows. It can be quite powerful sometimes, like I have two people living inside of me. For a photo shoot, it?s very immediate, spontaneous, heightened creativity. I gather a lot of inspiration from my surroundings and I really enjoyed the wild energy that exists at your house upstate."
On how her childhood defined the woman she is today:
"Well, I moved around a lot between Maine and New York, my family was sort of spread out. I was raised by my mom, my aunt Annie, my grandmother, [my stepfather] Todd and then, when I was 11, I found out Steven [Tyler, ed.] was my dad. I think the definition of what a ?normal? family is never was normal to me."
On her love for music:
"I sing morning, noon and night to myself, and a lot of the times out loud ? I can?t help it! I even think in song, everything relates in music to me. I have always dreamed of doing a musical like Sweet Charity, High Society or Cabaret. Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era of movie making. I would have loved to have been owned by a studio and had one picture after the next filled with beautiful sets, incredible costumes, singing and dancing. I?m learning how to tap dance this summer out in my farmhouse in the country."

OMG! Benedict Cumberbatch is dating? Liv Tyler?!? Benedict and Liv are seen here, in these photos, leaving a movie in LA. Is this a date? I thought she was based in New York? I thought he was based in London? Well, Cumberbatch was in LA over the weekend for the Emmys (Sherlock got shut out, which sucks because it?s an awesome show). I guess he decided to stay in town to get some Liv Tyler action? I have to wonder how recent this coupling is? Benedict has been saying in interviews that he?s single ? he?s been saying that for months. Are they old friends who found each other anew? Have they been dating on the downlow for months? I really need to know.
I understand that Cumby isn?t everyone?s taste. That?s fine. My Cumby Love is not like my Fassy Love. Like, I feel the need to ensure that everyone realizes their own personal Michael Fassbender Obsession. But my thing for Cumby is much more private and personal, although I recently sent CB the DVDs of Sherlock?s first two seasons, and now she?s somewhat obsessed too. CB really likes this pairing because she likes Liv Tyler a lot. But I think Liv is kind of? meh. She?s not actively bad or anything, and I like how low-key she is, and I like that Cumberbatch doesn?t have any issue with dating a single mom too. But I?m just not that into her.

Looking ready to travel Liv Tyler headed to her terminal at LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Monday afternoon (July 9).
Perhaps hiding her sleepy eyes, the daughter of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler was all smiles in her dark black sunglasses as she toted her comfy pillow through the busy airport.
In career news, the 35 year-old actress appears alongside veteran actor Frank Langella in the film "Robot and Frank," scheduled to be released in late August.
In it, an old man is given a robot butler to help care for him as he ages, but the helper is soon turned into an accomplice by the crafty ex-jewel thief.

I just adore Liv Tyler. I think it’s her vulnerability, which seems genuine. I also always remember seeing her kiss Davis Bowie’s hand when she first met him on The Late Show. It was like she was in awe of him and didn’t know what else to do, and it came across as sweet. (I googled that to see if I could find a video, and I did and I remembered it wrong! He kissed her hand first.)
Anyway Liv has been in a lot of emotional turmoil since the end of her five year marriage, to British rocker Royston Langdon, in 2008. She did an interview with Wonderland magazine around the time of her split and it just broke my heart. She said at the time “There?s nothing worse than heartache, being lovesick. It?s like there?s a physical sickness.” She’s 34 and it’s been a few years since her breakup. She’s rich and she’s raising a little seven year-old boy who sounds like he brings a lot of light and love into her life. She?s well-known for her acting prowess, and now Liv Tyler will show off her singing abilities in a new ad campaign for Givenchy.
According to a report, the ?Armageddon? actress, who has been the face of the Very Irresistible Givenchy fragrance since 2003, will sing a cover version of a yet-to-be-announced hit song, produced by David Andrew Sitek.
And one insider has described the venture as ?an electrifying meeting between the world of rock and the universe of perfume.?
Given that Liv?s dad Steven Tyler is the legendary frontman for Aerosmith, it?s no wonder that Liv has some serious singing skills.

Stepping out for a swanky awards show, Liv Tyler was spotted at the Council of Fashion Designers of America event on Monday (June 6).
The ?Empire Records? babe looked lovely as she walked the red carpet with the Proenza Schouler designer boys, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez.
Per the CFDA website, this year?s nominees reflect the depth of accomplishment of American fashion and acknowledges the pervasive influence that a new generation of talent is having on the industry while also celebrating the masters of design.
Speaking of the Proenza Schouler boys, the nominees for Womenswear Designer of the Year Award are Alexander Wang, Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez, and Marc Jacobs.

I think I knew at one point that Liv Tyler and Stella McCartney have been friends for a long time. Stella?s high-profile friendships seem to get overshadowed in the ongoing Gwyenth-Madonna War, but here are some new photos of Liv being the biggest celebrity to show up for her friend Stella, at Stella?s new store opening in NYC. Liv wore Stella too - this polka-dotted mess of a dress. It looks so? dated. Is Stella just grabbing dresses from the 1990s (all of them worn by Julia Roberts??) and calling them her own designs?
With a friendship going back over a decade, Liv Tyler can always be counted on to be one of Stella McCartney’s biggest champions. So when the British designer opened her latest store in Tyler’s hometown of New York, the actress was a guaranteed attendee.
The Lord Of The Rings beauty showed off her stunning figure in a black polka dot dress from Stella’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection as she arrived at the Manhattan boutique. The 33-year-old, who stands tall at 5ft 10in, teamed the sheer and structured peplum dress with a pair of towering heels. Polka dots are back in fashion this season with a host of designers incorporating the pattern into their designs.
But the designer was typically more casual in a white top and black trousers as she welcomed guests and fashion writers into her latest store.
On Monday night, Tyler was in another Stella design at the Metropolitan Museum Of Art Institute Gala. The actress wore a dramatic white feathered strapless number with an ombre yellow hemline at the event, which was held in tribute to late designer Alexander McQueen.

Yes, CB was going to write about Liv?s Stella dress at the Met Gala, but she never got around to it (because there were SO MANY photos that day!). I?ve included some photos of it, below. I don?t really like it? on Liv. I think it might have worked better on a blonde, although I think PARTS of the dress are rather lovely. However, the yellow-butt thing is just weird.

I really like Liv Tyler. She seems like a genuine person, like a sweetheart and like she’s fragile. We don’t hear much from her as she’s kept a low profile and she doesn’t have many big ticket movies coming out recently. The one time we’ve seen her at an event recently she looked much thinner and a bit Botoxy, but she’s still gorgeous as usual.
When Tyler split up with her husband, Royston Langdon, in 2008 she called it heartbreaking, said she was lovesick and still mourning, and claimed that she can’t date and “wouldn?t be capable of having a casual fling… I’m far too sensitive, and I just wouldn?t have any pleasure from it.” So it’s nice to see Liv moving on after all that.
Liv, 33, has been spotted out with a 24 year-old photographer named Theo Wenner, who is the son of the founder of Rolling Stone. She’s been seen with the guy a couple of times so it looks like he’s more than just a friend.
Liv Tyler has sparked rumours she has found love again following her painful divorce by stepping out with her new photographer boyfriend.
The Hollywood actress, 33, split from British rocker Royston Langdon, the father of her six-year-old son Milo, in 2008 after five years of marriage.
She recently revealed the “painful” divorce left her devastated and struggling to rebuild her life again.
Tyler has now proved she is finally moving on after she was spotted enjoying a date with celebrity snapper Theo Wenner, the 24-year-old son of Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner.
They were pictured having lunch together in New York and strolling around Manhattan this week.
A source tells Life & Style magazine, “He’s really young, but they’ve been dating for a while now.”

Good for Liv if she’s moving on and it’s serious. It sounds kind of sad that she’s not able to casually date, but as Kaiser pointed out in another story on Liv it’s not like she’s parading around her flavor of the month in front of her little kid like some other divorced celebrity moms we know.
Liv’s latest movie, Super, costars Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page and is currently out in limited release. She has another film, a thriller calledThe Ledge, coming out next year with Patrick Wilson, Terrence Howard and Charlie Hunnam.

I?m not a huge fan of Liv Tyler in general, but I don?t dislike for any reason. She?s pretty harmless, and I appreciate that she?s not a famewhore who gets pap?d constantly. She?s made some good movies, and she?s made some terrible movies, and I?m always surprised that she consistently gets work, because I?ve never thought she was very talented. But I?ve always thought she was pretty, in a ?different? way. She has a unique beauty, and yet? she has a kind of girl-next-door prettiness that makes her seem like the kind of woman that you could hang out with and go shopping with. Anyway, these are photos of Liv (and her dad) at last night?s premiere of Super. At first, I didn?t even recognize her. I thought I was looking at photos of Rebecca Hall!
So, here?s the question: did Liv get a little nip-tuck, or am I just surprised with these photos because I?m not constantly bombarded with pap photos of her? Something about her eyes looks weird to me. There?s a tightness, I guess. Or maybe it?s just the makeup? Or because she?s standing next to her dad? If she had some work done, I?ll be disappointed.
