In the wake of the news that Jennifer Lopez is halting one of her junior clothing lines due to the economy, you?d think it?d be a bad time for another multitasking songstress to be branching out into that very same arena. But that?s exactly what Beyonce and mom Tina Knowles are doing with their new ?Sasha Fierce? line for their label Deron. Deron already has a junior?s line ? so how?s this one going to be different? Well according to them, it?s inspired by Beyonce?s Sasha Fierce ?character? ? who apparently is such a diva that she demands her own line.
Beyonc and Tina Knowles are looking to capitalize more on Sasha Fierce. Utilizing the name of the singer?s alter ego and third solo album, ?I Am?Sasha Fierce,? the mother and daughter design team plans to launch a new junior apparel label, Sasha Fierce for Deron, for back-to-school selling. The collection, which is inspired by Beyonc?s stage presence (she is on a world tour through November), includes a full range of sportswear, outerwear, handbags, footwear, eyewear, lingerie and jewelry. Positioned to sit alongside the company?s Deron junior label, which is similarly priced, the line has so far been picked up by department stores including Macy?s and Dillard?s and specialty stores Jimmy Jazz and Against All Odds.
The collection, Tina said, is ?edgier and trendier and reflects Sasha Fierce?s daring and outgoing attitude.? The jewelry, shoes and eyewear, she added, ?are really over the top? with large chains made in mixed metals such as silver with gold, heavily studded shoes and oversize sunglasses such as the ones Beyonc has been seen wearing on tour. The clothes are a little more subdued to make the accessories stand out ? a one-shoulder dress, black bodysuit, fake leather jacket with oversize collar, leggings and destructed jeans with mesh and lace details lining the ripped material.
Beyonc, who said in a statement ?the line really exudes a different side of my personality, which I am grateful that I can express,? had a lot of say in the creation of the collection, Tina said? ?She definitely tells me what she likes and what she doesn?t. It was her suggestion to line the rips of the jeans with the mesh and lace,? she said. ?It makes the jeans look really different from what?s out there.?

I don?t know how different the look really is ? at least based on the photos ? but it?s definitely not bad. I am prematurely old and tend to dislike the urban style most juniors wear these days. But I like what Tina said about the clothes being more subdued in order to make the accessories look better. Most of the time when I pay attention to what people are wearing in New York, it?s like every single part of their ensemble is competing against the rest. It?s always too much, too chaotic, too many patterns, too much jewelry, etc. There is a way to wear the style that?s actually complementary, and though it?s certainly nothing I could ever pull off, the pictures show outfits that look good.
I know we?re never supposed to say anything good about Tina Knowles ? especially her ?design? work. But I think this line might actually really work ? provided you?re in the 18-and-under demographic.

New York — Beyonc sure knows how to get things started.
The sultry singer appeared at Madison Square Garden on Sunday for her I Am... tour and was joined by Jay-Z for the night's very first song: The married power couple performed a medley of their hits "Crazy in Love" and "I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)."
The crowd roared when Jay's "Crazy in Love" verse came up, but then the music swiftly changed to the Neptunes' spacey production of the rapper's hit. Jay, decked out in dark denim, black hat, jacket, T-shirt, shades and matching Air Yeezys, ran onto the stage moments into the show, surprising the barely settled audience. From the looks of it, Jay was also sporting a black do-rag under his fitted cap, a sign that he's cut his hair and the recording for his upcoming The Blueprint 3 is wrapping up.

Beyonce filed a federal lawsuit in New York on Wednesday, targeting “John and Jane Does” who are selling bootlegged items, including CDs and concert merchandise, “in the vicinity” of her concerts. The lawsuit is specifically in anticipation of her concert in Madison Square Garden on June 21 and 22, and she hopes to make “it” illegal before then. The article doesn’t say what “it” means - the bootlegging itself, or the selling of the goods.
Turns out you don’t have to actually know who you’re suing to file a lawsuit, because Beyonce is going after a bunch of John and Jane Does for hawking fake goods at her concerts.
Beyonce has filed a federal lawsuit today in New York, alleging that a pile of shady people have sold knock-off CDs and merchandise in “the vicinity” of past concerts she’s performed around the world.
Beyonce believes the piracy is bound to happen again — specifically at her upcoming concerts at Madison Square Garden on June 21 and 22 — so she’s asking the court to deem it illegal before the bootlegged booty hits the streets.

According to Wikipedia, a bootlegged copy is anything that has been released without the express intentions of the artist or studio. So the culprits could be selling unauthorized copies of live performances, or they could have simply downloaded her album on iTunes and sold copies of that. As for the fake merchandise, a recent lawsuit filed by the jam band Phish requested that the band be able to seize and destroy all unlicensed items being sold by fans. The lawsuit was a failure because they didn’t follow the proper procedures, but the precedent has generally been to allow these types of seizures. Otherwise, concert managers are powerless to stop the bootleggers. Phish claimed that they lost millions a year in possible revenue from the selling of fake merchandise; I would assume Beyonce has similar concerns.
It is not explained in the article whether the same group of people have been selling bootlegged merchandise all over the world, or if the culprits are found on an individual, concert-by-concert basis. Either way, tracking these people down and prosecuting them will be a difficult process.

I remember calling him and I was like, 'Uh, I want you to be on my remix.' And he was like, 'Oh, cool, what's the song about?' He was like, 'You have a song called "Ego" and you want me to do it?' He was like, "I love it, I'll do it!' "

Fashion magazines will tell you that if you’re pear-shaped, to try to wear clothing that draws the eye away from your hips and bottom, to play up your top half to balance your bottom half. The rules do not apply however, to Sasha Fierce. Her fashion rules say, “If it’s big, put a bow on it to make it bigger!” and “A girl can never wear too much gold or sequins. Gold sequins are even better,” and “Putting weird angles on your hips are good!”. I think she might be hiding a small village in that thing.

Beyonce is ending her world tour in November and according to Showbiz Spy she is considering taking two years off when it ends!
“My priorities are slowly changing. So after this tour, I might be tired and want to take two years off,” she told a Scottish newspaper.
“I’ve worked hard enough to be able to do that. I’m in a verygood place.”
Only two years? I won't miss her! Will you?
