Joining up with the Haiti relief efforts, Beyonce Knowles has just been added to the lineup for the “Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief” telethon.
The massive event is set to air this Friday (January 22) at 8pm ET commercial free on MTV, VH1, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CNN, BET, CW, HBO, CMT, PTS, TNT, Showtime, Comedy Central, Bravo, E! Entertainment Network, National Geographic, Oxygen, G4, Centric, Current TV, Fuse, MLB Newtork, and many other networks.
Beyonce joins an already-stellar bill for the event, including her husband Jay-Z, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, and Mary J. Blige.
The money raised will go to fund programs by Oxfam America, Partners in Health, Red Cross, UNICEF, and Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti Foundation among others.

Here?s the thing - I don?t really hate Beyonce. I know that?s unfashionable, I know I?m going against the grain, but I don?t think she?s terrible. I might own a Beyonce CD somewhere. True, I probably bought it while drunk, but I?m sure I?ve listened to it once. When I hear her on the radio, I usually stop and listen. Now, I don?t love her either. She comes across as very full of herself in many interviews, but I think she does strive to (at the very least) put herself out there as more giving and generous than her true nature.
One of the things that cracks me up about Beyonce (and a few other women out there) is that she plays one particular publicity game consistently - the old ?I?ll have a baby at some point? game. Now, it?s none of my business when she and Jay-Z have a baby, or if they even want to. But in interview after interview they?ve both talked about making babies and how it?s going to happen any day, and then nothing happens. I really don?t think Beyonce has any interest in having a baby, at least not right now or for the foreseeable future. Which is fine - she?s got a bangin? career, she?s still young, why should anyone pressure her to have a baby? And yet she keeps talking about it, playing the same old game. Imagine my surprise when Beyonce is talking babies again in the February Allure. Beyonce tells the mag: ?I definitely want to have a child, but I know from my nephew it’s a lot. I hope that those things will just happen naturally. I still haven’t had time to relax.? That?s the reasoning this week. She needs time to relax.
In the new issue of Allure, Beyonce talks about her desire to have children with her husband, Jay-Z.
“I definitely want to have a child, but I know from my nephew it’s a lot. I hope that those things will just happen naturally. I still haven’t had time to relax,” she tells the magazine.
The ‘Single Ladies’ singer also talks about her alter-ego, playing card games online and her good girl reputation.
“Trust me, I’m not at all, but it is hard living up to people thinking that about you,” Beyonce says of herself.
Her figure: “I always say, ‘I don’t want to lose my curves,’ I like firm curves. You can never do enough squats, you can never do enough sit-ups. I like for women to look feminine.”
Playing spades online: “I play with everybody, and they curse me out when I make mistakes, and kick me out of the room. I love it, it’s really fun because no one knows it’s me.”
Being Sasha Fierce: “The thing that’s interesting is I don’t need Sasha Fierce anymore, because I’ve grown, and I’m now able to merge the two. I want people to see me. I want people to see who I am.”
Fashion: “I love fashion. I’m not a sweats type of girl. I don’t enjoy wearing tennis shoes. I don’t even feel comfortable in them.”
The word ‘bootylicious’ is now in the Oxford Dictionary: “I still can’t believe it! It’s hilarious. I actually wish it was another word that I created. I wish it didn’t have ‘booty’ in it.”

But seriously, I love how Beyonce is still talking about how Sasha Fierce is totally separate from her. At some point, it becomes less a David Bowie-esque ?Ziggy Stardust? and more of a ?When Rabbit Howls situation.?

Always busy with her career, Beyonce is looking to relax before adding an addition to the family.
The Single Ladies singer says, “I definitely want to have a child, but I know from my nephew it’s a lot. I hope that those things will just happen naturally. I still haven’t had time to relax.”

Beyonc had quite a 2009. She performed at President Obama's inauguration, started the "Single Ladies" dance craze, starred in "Obsessed," went on tour and somehow found herself in the middle of the VMA incident involving Taylor Swift and Kanye West.
She gave sexy performances at shows like the VMAs and the MTV Europe Music Awards and teamed up with Lady Gaga on two singles, her track "Video Phone" and Gaga's "Telephone." She also collaborated with Alicia Keys on a track.
So how will Beyonc top herself in 2010? Well, after she performs at the Grammy Awards on January 31, she plans to do a whole lot of nothing. "I've always worked hard, but I feel like I worked harder this past year than I have since I was just starting out. I just had all these great opportunities. ... It's definitely time to take a break, to recharge my batteries," the singer told USA Today. "I'd like to take about six months and not go into the studio. I need to just live life, to be inspired by things again."
Beyonc says she promised herself she'd take a break after her I Am ... Tour. She explained, "When I got home, I wrote out a contract with myself. I made a list of everything I want to do that has nothing to do with music. Well, some of it does. But I promised myself that I would not go back on tour or in the studio until I finished these things.
"I want to go to restaurants, maybe take a class, see some movies and Broadway shows," she continued. "[And spend time with my nephew, Daniel]. He's a wonderful kid, amazing, so smart. And I spoil him, so it's a lot of work. He's a 24-hour job."
Before she can do that, she will first see if she can take home any of the 10 Grammy Awards she's up for later this month. She's still reeling from all the nominations. "I still haven't really digested it yet," she said. "I was focused so much on my husband's birthday — I threw a big party — that I didn't really think about it. But it's really an honor."

So what type of things will the 28 year-old music star be doing? “I’m going to do random things. I want to go to restaurants, maybe take a class and see some movies and Broadway shows. I’ll spend more time with Daniel. He’s a wonderful kid, amazing, so smart. And I spoil him, so it’s a lot of work. He’s a 24-hour job.”
But it won’t be an easy break for Knowles. “It will be the hardest thing in the world for me to make myself not do an album and shoot a video and turn it in and say, ‘I’m ready!’ I already have all these melodies and ideas in my head,” she said. “I have to tell myself, ‘Sit down! Sit down!’ “

Looking as if they’re no longer to work through their differences, Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles has reportedly filed for divorce.
According to TMZ reports, Mama Knolwes submitted the necessary court papers in Harris County, Texas last month - ending 29-years of marriage with soon to be ex-husband Mathew.
In brighter news, Beyonce continues to push forth with branching business endeavors - as the Cody beauty line will release her first fragrance, Beyonce Heat, in February.
Talking about her new scent, Miss Knowles tells WWD, “Everything, from the bottle design to the name and the ideas for the commercials —- that’s me. When I commit to something, I do it 100 percent, and I’ve never had [creative control over a fragrance] until this project.”
Beyonce adds, “I wasn’t worried about deadlines. It could have taken me three, four, however many years—this was my first fragrance, and I wanted to make sure that it was something I would love forever.”
