Beyonce just did an interview with the Australian show Sunday Night. Lots of people are talking about this interview, but it?s not all about the Beyonce quotes - it?s also about how weird her stomach looked at one point. First, the video and the quotes - Bey confirms that she?s due in February, which means that she conceived in late May, perhaps? Which means that she was probably about three months pregnant for her VMA debut, and she?s more than four months pregnant right now? Is my math right? Hmm? anyway, the video and quotes:
Beyonce on her pregnancy: ?It?s already has changed my life. My husband and I have been together for 10 years, all of my twenties? since I was 20 and we just feel like it?s time. I?m very grateful that God has blessed me with the biggest gift that any human being can have. I think because I?ve accomplished a lot of things for myself and I really know who I am. I didn?t rush into anything and I feel like if it?s any time, right now is the time and I?m so happy.”
The timing is right: “I think because I’ve accomplished a lot of things for myself and I really know who I am, I didn’t rush into anything. If there’s any time, right now is the time, and I’m so happy.”
On dancing: ?I?m a huge fan of dance and I always try to think of a new way to move the body. I try to treat choreography like I do a hit song and I try to think of the things that are going to make people want to dance and move around, dance in the club or dance at their school play or whatever.?
On her time off and firing her dad-manager: “It was a bit overwhelming. I was a bit numb and kind of lost. I never even realized I needed a year off. It didn?t matter where I was, I was in so many different places that it was like ?Okay, I?m just on the show, I?m performing, back in a hotel, ?Where am I?? ?What city am I in??? I?m doing the same thing and it became a ritual. It was a bit of an emotion in me that was missing because the world is so much bigger than the world screaming your name and that becomes almost like a fake world. You have to make sure you remember that that?s all great but that?s not who you really are. I’ve been managed by my father for a long time, and it’s been a real change being separated from him. It was scary, but it empowered me.”

I had two favorite parts - one, I love when she?s trying to convince us that she?s only 30. That continues to crack me up, when she has to really sit there and think, ?Damn, was I with Jay throughout my actual 20s, or my fake 20s?? But my absolutely favorite part is when Beyonce sits down for the interview - around the :54 second mark - and her belly FOLDS IN ON ITSELF. As in, she?s wearing a prosthetic bump. Media Takeout has freeze-frames here - it?s ridiculous. So? all of the bump conspiracies have been right along. Of course.

Earlier this year, at the Billboard Music Awards, Beyonce got a special tribute that made her sound like the Nelson Mandela of booty-shaking, and she also performed her then-new single ?Run The World (Girls)?. The performance was visually interesting, stunning even. But within 24 hours, critics pounced and pointed out that Bey had borrowed/stolen/hijacked large chunks of the performance from an Italian pop artist named Lorella Cuccarini. Beyonce issued a statement saying that Cuccarini was an obvious influence, she had seen it and tried to her own take. ?Her own take? = grabbing several chunks.
So, now Beyonce has a new single and a new video out - ?Countdown?. We covered it last week, and I hated both the song and the video (and the disappearing and reappearing baby bump). I thought it looked like Bey was jacking from Funny Face, West Side Story, and other people mentioned Flashdance and some other films too. Honestly, the video is a too-jerky, too-rapidly-edited mess. And now Beyonce is being accused of outright theft once again. This time, she allegedly (or not so) stole some dance and imagery from Belgian choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. Here?s a side-by-side that someone put together:
Can you plagiarize a concept? Can you steal a visual setup? My opinion? Yes, you can. That?s the opinion of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker too! She told a Danish blog, ?I didn’t know anything about this. I’m not mad, but this is plagiarism. This is stealing. They took pieces from Achterland and Rosas danst Rosas. … It’s a bit rude, I must say. … What’s rude about it is that they don’t even bother about hiding it. They seem to think they could do it because it’s a famous work. … Am I honored? Look, I’ve seen local school kids doing this. That’s a lot more beautiful.” Ha. Awesome. But Beyonce?s ?co-director? told MTV, ?I brought Beyonc a number of references and we picked some out together. Most were German modern-dance references, believe it or not. But it really evolved.? I hope Bey comes out (again) and explains what she was thinking.

Here is Beyonce?s new music video for ?Countdown?. First of all, I dislike the song. It seems all over the place, and? I don?t know, I?m just not humming it. It?s not a ?get this dumb song stuck in your head? kind of song, which is what Beyonce specializes in. Secondly, the video is all over the place too. Beyonce jacks (?borrows?) classic images from Funny Face, West Side Story, and many other films, plus lots of 1960s styling and the mother lode of wigs, wiglets, hairpieces, bangs trauma add-ons and weaves. I think Bey must have blown through her Wiglet Budget for 2011 with this video. The result is? visually intriguing, but I feel like Bey has done this a million times before (?this? being the 1960s stuff, plus stealing from other works). It just seems kind of boring:
Did you notice what I noticed? The discrepancy with the ?bump?? In some of the shots, Beyonce is caressing what seems like a substantial ?bump? and then in other shots, it?s barely there. Don?t even yell at me and say it?s just the angles playing tricks with my eyes. Bitch is wearing padding when it?s convenient for her. I really don?t understand WHY she?s doing it when it?s so obvious. It?s like when Katie Holmes was pregnant with Suri - I believed she was genuinely pregnant (just as I believe Beyonce is), but the discrepancies in the size of the bumps from month to month was so disturbing, and so obviously a padding issue. Ugh.
Oh, and Beyonce?s TWEAKED FACE is killing me. It?s killing me that no one major is calling her out on her major face work.

It?s an exciting time in her life, and today (October 6) Beyonc Knowles released her new music video for her single ?Countdown.?
The ?Crazy in Love? songstress shows off her growing preggers midsection as she dons a short black wig and dances around the set.
Beyonce also uses her arms to imitate a ?countdown? clock while standing in front of a retro-looking black and white wall.
As for her pregnancy, Knowles told press, "It is the most powerful creation for you to be able to have a life growing inside of you. There is no bigger gift, nothing more empowering."

See, now in these photos, Beyonce looks very knocked up to me. Yes, there?s some swelling in her abdomen (not as much as the VMAs, but it?s there), but the biggest difference I see is in Beyonce?s boob size. You can always tell by the boobs. Anyway, these are even more photos of Beyonce promoting her new fragrance yesterday in NYC - we covered her sequiny photo call event yesterday too. As for the now infamous VMA bump-reveal, Beyonce tells Access Hollywood that she thought the ?classiest? way to tell people that she was pregnant was ?to just show it?. She doesn?t say, ?to just stick a pillow on that junk and show off the padding.? But I think that?s what she meant.
A stunning and glowing Beyonce stepped out in New York on Wednesday to launch her new fragrance, Beyonce Pulse. Typically, the superstar artist is a very private person, but when Access Hollywood guest correspondent Jill Martin sat down with her, Beyonce opened up about her other big news (her pregnancy!) and how she came up with the idea to reveal her baby bump at the MTV Video Music Awards last month.
?You know, I dreamt it, actually,? Beyonce told Jill of the inspiration behind her pregnancy announcement. ?There were so many rumors about me being pregnant every three months for the past couple of years ? I thought the best way and classiest way was to just show it. And my husband and I have been together for 10 years, so I guess people felt a part of it and it makes me feel really good.?
Following Beyonce?s big reveal at the end of her VMAs performance, cameras cut to a shot of her husband, Jay-Z, in the audience along with Kanye West, as the two rappers jumped up and down and cheered in celebration. Although the proud, soon-to-be daddy?s enthusiasm was seen by millions, Beyonce said she missed the endearing moment.
?I couldn?t see that in real life, but I did see it on a bunch of TV specials,? the 30-year-old singer said. ?You couldn?t escape it, so it was nice!?
As for motherhood, B said she feels she?s been preparing for this moment for years.
?I just feel like everything I?ve been through in my life is all for right now,? she told Jill. ?So hopefully life will continue to get better, and I?ll continue to get stronger and be an incredible mother.?
Beyonce was solo at the launch party for her third fragrance, but both she and Jay-Z were very involved in creating Pulse.
?I wear it, I live with it for about six months, and we tweak,? she revealed, when asked about her creative process. ?I make sure it?s long lasting. And I make sure I get my compliments from everyone ? from my fans to my husband,? she added with a laugh.

Ha, ?tweak?. Yes, she?s been doing a lot of ?tweaking? this year, to perfume, and to her face. Some pre-pregnancy tweaking, I guess. Anyway, as for Beyonce?s bump debut and whether or not it was ?classy?? I wouldn?t describe it as classy, but then again, I don?t really think there is a ?classy? way to announce to the world that you?re pregnant. If you?re a celebrity, and you want to keep everything very easy and non-controversial, I think the best way is to issue a simple statement and then debut your bump on some kind of red carpet situation. That?s the way I would do it if I was a celebrity.
As I?ve said before, I didn?t hate Beyonce?s bump debut - I thought it was very cute the way she showed it off on stage after she sang. It was a great moment, it was cheesy and sweet and joyful? and not ?classy?. The whole padding the bump was a famewhore move though, in retrospect. She just did that to make a bigger impact on the biggest stage she could possibly get.

Back out for another fragrance launch event, Beyonce Knowles was front and center at Macy's Herald Square in New York City on Thursday evening (September 22).
The expecting singer took to the Pulse Fragrance Launch in a sleeveless white frock adorned with fringes from the waist down.
The outing comes just as Miss Knowles offered up some revealing details about her baby on board during an interview with Associated Press.
Of being with child, the ?Love on Top? singer said, ?There is no bigger gift, nothing more empowering.?
Beyonce went on to explain who see looks to for parental guidance, as she said, "I have the best examples around me because my sister is the most incredible mother. My mother, I am so proud of her. I see her and I could cry every time I think about her because she is such an incredible woman, so I just pray that I have the same bond with my children, child."
When asked about her career after the baby is born, the star told, "I will probably [take the baby everywhere with me]. I am sure I will," she admitted. "I think that it shouldn't stop you. I think of course my life is going to change, and I definitely will make sacrifices, but you know, I think I will be able to bring hopefully my little rider with me."

Having just announced her baby news a few weeks ago, the glowing mom-to-be says she's having the time of her life looking for maternity wear, telling MTV, "I am having so much fun, it has been the most fun time now that [my pregnancy] has been announced and I don't have to, you know, it was really difficult to conceal."
Beyonce added, "Now that I can be proud and excited about it, I'm having so much fun shopping. It's great."

Traversing from New York Fashion Week to London's semi-annual style showcase, Beyonce Knowles held her House of Dereon Spring/Summer 2012 collection show on Saturday evening (September 17).
The expecting singer was accompanied by her mother, Tina Knowles, as the two took center spotlight at Selfridges during the second day of London Fashion Week.
For the runway extravaganza, Miss Knowles wore a sparkly trouser suit with a cleavage-baring, plunging neckline covered by a large gold necklace.
As for the latest House of Dereon offerings, the line was displayed by models clad in floating skirts with bold make-up in what was described as "an exotic vibe."

Stepping out for a promotional appearance, Beyonc Knowles was spotted at the opening of the Tory Burch store on Madison Avenue in New York City yesterday (September 13).
The ?Crazy in Love? cutie looked absolutely fabulous in an all-black getup with some torso-baring cut-outs.
And Beyonce hasn?t been letting her pregnancy slow her down at all- she?s been uber-busy during the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week festivities.
