Sofia Vergara and Reese Witherspoon made a big deal about their wild & crazy friendship while they promoted their turd of a film, Hot Pursuit, a few months ago. I actually understand why the film happened ? take ?America?s Sweetheart? Reese ad the most popular woman on TV and put them together in a girls? road-trip/comedy and it could have worked. But it didn?t. The reviews were terrible and the film died a swift and painful death at the box office. So now Radar says that Sofia and Reese?s friendship has died a swift death too.
It was supposed to be a buddy comedy, but when Hot Pursuit flopped at the box office, it turned Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara against each other! Witherspoon and Vergara had reportedly become inseparable friends as they worked together on the film ? but things changed after the movie only barely made back its $35 million production budget.
?Sofia and Reese have turned the movie?s failure into a brutal blame game,? an insider told RadarOnline.com. ?Reese blames Sofia?s accent and ?irritating laugh,? while Sofia blames Reese for not being sexy or funny enough.?
As if things weren?t awkward enough, both women are represented by Witherspoon?s husband, agent Jim Toth! ?Jim is desperately trying to broker peace between them, but then they start accusing him of playing favorites! He can?t win.?
The actresses are reportedly ?devastated? by the monetary and critical failure. Both women stood to make real career gains if the film had been successful. Witherspoon and Vergara were both producers on the project. Additionally, Vergara was hoping that Hot Pursuit could transform her from a television star to a silver screen starlet.
?Sofia has a love/hate relationship with Modern Family,? the source said. ?Its shooting schedule is long and difficult, but if she had a real movie career, she could leave? Sofia was hoping to have some kind of leverage for next season?s contract negotiations, but because Hot Pursuit was such a turkey, she needs the show more than ever.?

Is the Modern Family shooting schedule really that arduous? I mean? it?s a half-hour sitcom on network TV. Even if there are long hours (doubtful?), it?s an ensemble where six actors carry the weight and the network is going out of their way to make the actors happy. I tend to think Sofia is in a better position overall ? she?s still the star of one of the biggest network comedies around, she has tons of side projects and of course she?ll get a chance to do more movies. But Reese? I don?t know. I guess we?re supposed to believe that this past year has been so incredible for her (and she did get an Oscar nomination), but it feels like she?s still struggling? Anyway, Reese and Sofia should stop blaming each other and blame the screenwriter. The script sounded like it was terrible.

Showing some love to their south-of-the-border fans, Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara showed up at the Cinepolis Plaza Carso in Mexico City on Monday (June 22).
The ?Modern Family? hottie and the ?Cruel Intentions? chick were in the house to premiere their new movie ?Hot Pursuit? and they received a warm welcome from loyal followers ahead of the screening.
?Hot Pursuit? hit theaters in the USA on May 8th and was universally panned by the critics. And so far it has only grossed $35.1 million, just $100,000 above its $35 million budget. Hopefully the Mexican market will prove to be helpful!

Always up for a challenge, Reese Witherspoon has been cast in the lead role for the forthcoming Disney live action version of ?Tinker Bell.?
The ?Walk the Line? Oscar-winner is also on the team of producers for the project, based on the original 1953 classic about the temperamental fairy who is jealous of anyone who gets near Peter Pan.
Still in the beginning stages of development, the script for ?Tinker Bell? will be written by Victoria Strouse and details are scarce at this point. Stay linked to the GossipCenter for all the latest updates!

It feels like Reese Witherspoon?s online ?Southern Goop? venture has been gestating for a really long time, but in truth, this whole thing basically took about 15 months for her to pull together. And now it?s officially here: Draper James is online now. Go here to look at draperjames.com. If Goop.com is elitist nonsense and Preserve is hipster nonsense, then Draper James is Southern nonsense. Now that I?ve had a few minutes to browse the site? I don?t really hate it though. Is it full of ridiculously marked up items? Sure. $200 sleeveless blouses are not my jam. But the prices are positively peasant-y compared to Goop. And unlike Preserve, Draper James has a very straight-forward, user-friendly layout (possibly helped by the fact that they don?t have a lot for sale at the moment).
There are personal touches too, from Reese. You can see Reese?s ?editorials? here, which are mostly just ?fun? and ?peppy? I?m-so-Southern shills. She even has a page for ?Southernisms.? Yeah? I grew up in the South and I still live in the South, and no Southerner has ever said to me, ?We don?t apologize for looking pretty.? You want to know a real Southernism? ?The bigger the hair, the closer to God.? (Steel Magnolias got SO MUCH right about the South.) So, yeah? I think this venture is completely unnecessary, but it?s nothing Reese should be ashamed of. It?s fine. She?ll make some money out of it and she?ll play up her ?I?m a cornpone gal, y?all!? credentials for a little while longer.
Meanwhile, In Touch Weekly has some minor drama between Reese and her ex-husband!
Reese Witherspoon and her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe, have mostly gotten along since their 2007 split. But In Touch has learned that the former Hollywood couple have recently had some serious arguments over their kids, Ava, 15, and Deacon, 11.
?Ryan thinks Reese is trying to cut him out of the kids? lives because she?s cutting back on his time with them,? a source reveals in the new issue of In Touch. ?Reese has been blaming the kids? busy school schedule, but the reason Ryan thinks she isn?t letting them see him is that she doesn?t like his lifestyle. She thinks he parties way too much and doesn?t want Ava and Deacon around that.?
But, according to the source, Ryan finds fault in her reasoning. ?He doesn?t understand why Reese is trying to tell him how to live his life ? Ava and Deacon are honor students, and when they are with him, they do their homework,? the source tells In Touch. ?He takes good care of those kids and is very angry with Reese right now.?

It wouldn?t surprise me if this story was true. And if it is, Reese needs to stop with Miss Holier-Than-Thou routine. Ryan was the one who had to tell the kids that their mom was a nasty, belligerent, drunk AMERICAN CITIZEN to a Georgia cop and she got arrested. Is Ryan a perfect dad? Doubtful. But I think he loves his kids and he?s not bringing a lot of unnecessary drama into their lives. Besides, Reese needs her kids more these days for the endless stream of happy-family pap strolls she?s been doing to shill Draper James.

Her red carpet getups are legendary and Reese Witherspoon made yet another big splash during last night?s (May 4) 2015 Met Gala at New York City?s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Clad in a gorgeous red Jason Wu dress, the ?Sweet Home Alabama? babe sparkled thanks to a massive amount of diamond jewelry as well as her stunning smile.
Every year the Met Gala provides the operating budget for the Costume Institute and since 1999, Anna Wintour has headed up the event, raising more than $145 million. Tickets run $25,000 each or $175,000 for a table of 10.

Back in 2002, she won America?s hearts as Melanie Smooter in ?Sweet Home Alabama,? and on Wednesday (April 15) Reese Witherspoon found herself recreating one of the film?s most beloved scenes.
The ?Wild? actress was shopping in Tiffany & Co in New York City when one of the workers dropped to a knee and proposed while holding a diamond sparkler. In the movie, Patrick Dempsey pulls a similar stunt.
Reese snagged a snapshot of the incident and posted it to Instagram along with the caption, ?Um. This just happened. @Tiffanyandco just surprised me with a #SweetHomeAlabama moment in NYC??!!! Where magical moments happen. #Pinchme#NotYourAverageWednesday !!

Reese Witherspoon covers the new issue of InStyle Magazine. I?m also including (below) some photos taken of Reese in the past week. Notice all the costume changes. She?s getting pap?d multiple times a day, often in completely different outfits. I stopped looking when I reached seven different photo sets/outfits in the past week (but there are totally more photos). Is this a case of the paps just knowing where to find her? Or is it something else? Cough. Anyway, in the May InStyle, Reese talks about being a spitfire, her Southern mafia and her Southern values. She?s laying it on a bit thick, right?
Surrounding herself with real friends: “I learned a few years ago that there are people who don’t want good things for you. You’ve got to get away from them. Now I surround myself with supportive friends. I have a close group of girlfriends I call my Southern Mafia. One’s from Oklahoma, one’s from Arkansas, another’s from Tennessee. I get a lot out of my relationships with them.”
How she relates to her Southern Mafia: “Parenting, getting through your marriage, getting through your day, these are hard things, and I find solace in the fact that other people struggle with the same stuff I do. We all have concerns about our kids, our marriage, our dreams.”
She?s a spitfire: ?I’ve finally gotten to an age when I’m not afraid to have an opinion. I feel that my perspective matters. It took me a while to figure that out, but I’m there now. I was always pretty outspoken, actually, but now I’ve learned to say sorry when I make mistakes, too. I’ve always been a little spitfire. Sometimes it’s gotten me into trouble.”
Fighting for strong female roles: “I grew up seeing incredibly strong women like Holly Hunter, Sigourney Weaver and Debra Winger. I want to ensure that my 15-year-old daughter grows up seeing those types of strong women playing complicated parts.?
When she realized she was a feminist: “I went to Harpeth Hall, a wonderful all-girls school in Nashville that encouraged us to see ourselves as working women in the world, to speak up for ourselves to ask for equal pay and advocate for gender equality. Outside that school, I experienced the full force of a patriarchal society, but I had a core value system that said, ‘No, you really deserve to be treated equal to men.”
Her clothing/lifestyle line, Draper James: “I’ve had so much fun developing and creating Draper James? it?s is based on my Southern upbringing. It’s a reflection of the fact that I’ve travelled all over the world but where I really love to be is home. I just think the brand reflects a lot of my Southern traditions and values.”

I have such mixed feelings about Reese. Like, I think parts of her shtick is completely legitimate, and I believe she genuinely cares about seeing and developing interesting, female-driven films. I also believe she?s genuinely influenced by her Southern background. But I also believe this IS a shtick, that she?s been trying on this image as a sweet-but-spitfiery Southern gal who can get drunk and bitch out a cop AND fight for feminism, y?all. Part of it caricature, at least that?s how it seems to me. Mostly, Reese is out for relevance. She?s out to profit from this image she?s created over the past few years.

Smiling widely for the camera, the ?Cruel Intentions? cutie posed in front of a colorful cake covered in flowers and candles.
Reese posted a photo via Instagram with the message, ?Thank you everyone for all the kind & lovely birthday wishes. (and yes, there is a mariachi band behind me...).? Previously she wrote, ?Thank you for all the sweet birthday wishes xo and happiest Sunday!!!!!!?

Reese will be back on the big screen in May in the highly-anticipated action comedy Hot Pursuit in which she plays an inexperienced cop who has to protect the wife of a drug cartel leader played by Sofia Vergara.
