Lining up her next big project, Reese Witherspoon has signed on to star in Oscar-nominated writer Nick Hornby's "Wild."
Based on the New York Times #1 best-seller by Cheryl Strayed, the film follows a woman who has lost all hope, and makes the decision to hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail alone.
Speaking on the role, the "Water for Elephants" actress said, "We are so excited to be working with Fox Searchlight to bring 'Wild' to the screen. It is an extraordinary company that continually strives to bring original, inspirational films to the marketplace. We are thrilled to collaborate with them on 'Wild.'"
Production is expected to get underway in the late fall, after a director is in place.

Getting back to her busy schedule after a long weekend, Reese Witherspoon hopped on a flight out of LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Tuesday (July 9).
Clad in crisp white capris and a denim shirt, the ?Water for Elephants? actress wound her way through the busy terminal carrying a monogrammed tote on the way to her gate.
The mother of three has a lot on her plate career wise, as she has been filming the crime flick ?Inherent Vice,? with four more motion pictures ready to begin production.
Fans of the blonde beauty can catch her on the big screen later this year in the crime drama ?Devil?s Knot,? the story of the savage murders of three young children and the controversial trial of three teenagers accused of killing the kids as part of a satanic ritual.

Making the most of the Independence Day holiday, Reese Witherspoon spent the afternoon at a pal?s pad on the beach in Malibu, California yesterday (July 4).
Sporting a strapless one-piece blue-with-white-polka-dots getup, the ?Cruel Intentions? chick looked lovely as she sunned herself from beneath a large white hat.
Also along for the ride was Reese?s handsome husband Jim Toth, who handled his daddy duties by taking baby boy Tennessee for a father-son stroll along the shore.
Earlier in the week, Witherspoon seemed to be busy with everything from yoga classes to grocery shopping, so the restful family day was well-deserved.

She?s been busy staying in shape as of late, and Reese Witherspoon showed up at Burn 60 Gym in Brentwood, California this morning (July 3).
The ?Walk the Line? lady looked lovely as she strolled up to the fitness center in a black jacket with black shorts and a green water bottle.
On Tuesday it was more of the same for Reese, though this time she grabbed a Yoga class at a gym in Venice, showing off her leg bruise in a pair of black stretch shorts with a purple tank top.
Meanwhile, Ms. Witherspoon has had her hands full with kiddos and it?s affecting her mind! She told press, ?Ever since I had the baby, I can't remember anything. Serious, this child stole my brain.?

All by itself, the shirt isn’t bad. Nautical stripes are very in. But it needs to be paired with skinny jeans or cigarette pants, not a flouncy patterned skirt. Horizontal stripes make you look wider to begin with, but add a puffy A-line skirt into the mix and you might as well be gestating a fetus.
The skirt by itself isn’t bad either, but it needs to be worn with a fitted top or a belt to define the waist. Her patent strappy red flats are also chic and look great with the shoulder bag, which I also really like. So basically I love everything about her outfit… separately. It’s one of those rare instances where everything seems right and like it’s going to work, and then you put it all together and it’s a huge disappointment, like “The Expendables” or “The League of Extraordinary Gentleman.”

The ?Sweet Home Alabama? babe smiled from behind a pair of sunglasses as she strolled off an incoming flight, sporting a sheer black sweater with polka dot trousers and sandals.

?We horrify my children by dancing when the bus comes, with different moves. We?re like, ?If you don?t hurry up, we?re going to do the running man in front of the bus.? All of the kids on the bus think it?s hysterical.?
