She was (and is) the queen of fashion, and back in her "Sex and the City" days Sarah Jessica Parker made Manolo Blahnik's a household name, but now the iconic actress is bringing her own shoe line to life.
On Thursday (March 6), the 48-year-old star made an appearance at Nordstom at the Grove in Los Angeles, CA to meet with fans and sign their shoes from her brand new SJP line.
Although plenty of fans are waiting in line to get a pair of the fabulous pumps to wear out for a night on the town, others are taking the rare opportunity as a chance to make some serious cash.
Signed SJP shoes are currently on eBay, and the average starting bid is at $650, not bad considering the retail for a basic pump is $350. If you want your chance at meeting the fashion icon herself, she will be in Chicago tomorrow (March 7), Miami on Saturday (March 8) and Dallas on Sunday (March 9).

Hitting the streets of the Big Apple in the name of fashion, Sarah Jessica Parker attended the ribbon-cutting event for the launch of her SJP Collection today (February 28).
Greeting fans and posing for a few pictures, the "Sex and the City" alum sported a breathtaking black dress, accented by hundreds of bright Pink flowers, wearing her hair down low, and completing her look with a pair of hot Pink heels.
The down-to-earth 48-year-old's collection is to be sold exclusively at Nordstrom, and she also participated in an interview with Harper?s Bazaar?s Fashion Director, Avril Mair, saying, "I never wanted to be famous. And I won?t trade on it in any way. It?s not like it?s hard to be respectful and well behaved."
Keeping a level head by refusing to read into her own publicity, Sarah continued, "I don?t read anything. I don?t Google myself. Good God, no! I have absolutely no constitution for that. I?m curious about everything, except what people have to say about me. It?s the random cruelty I really don?t understand. It?s not good for us. I don?t know, you know, how we go back in time to a better place."
She is set to be the April 2014 cover girl of Harper's Bazaar, and regardless of what critics think of her, we can rest assured that Sarah's brand new fashion collection will meet with massive success in 2014!

Sarah Jessica Parker covers the new issue (the April issue) of Harper?s Bazaar UK. The cover is meh to me, but I like the other photo I?m including from the shoot. I?m also including some photos of SJP yesterday in NYC, where she was promoting her new ?pop-up shop? at Nordstrom?s. I really wish SJP would do something different with her hair. I know this is perhaps a controversial opinion, but SJP?s hair bugs me so much more than Jennifer Aniston?s rarely-changing style. At least Aniston loves volume. SJP is content to maintain her ill-advised long hair and her flat center part. Anyway, now that I?ve bitched about that, SJP would probably like to say that she doesn?t appreciate the hate. Some highlights from the Bazaar piece:
SJP on her fame: ?I never wanted to be famous. And I won?t trade on it in any way. It?s not like it?s hard to be respectful and well behaved.?
She doesn?t read gossip about herself: ?I don?t read anything. I don?t Google myself. Good God, no! I have absolutely no constitution for that. I?m curious about everything, except what people have to say about me. It?s the random cruelty I really don?t understand. It?s not good for us. I don?t know, you know, how we go back in time to a better place.?
Growing up poor: ?My mother was chic but we were broke. Inside the house was chaos and madness… I appreciate everything. I think that there are probably a lot of people that don?t care as much, and it all still works for them. But I can?t have my name on something and not be totally involved. It can often make things really hard but that?s simply the way I have to be.?
Collaborating with George Malkemus, CEO of Manolo Blahnik: ‘Having played this character for so long who had such a love of shoes ? and, you know, some might say a reckless desire to have them ? I just thought, ?This is what I?d really like to do now.? I called him and said, ?I have this crazy idea???
Her favorites from the SATC archives: The Manolo Blahnik black suede BB pump remains Parker?s favourite shoe of all time, she says. ‘I used to wear them 18 hours a day for the show and loved it? I still have all those shoes ? anything I?ve ever worn in any movie or television show in my life is archived ? but I really don?t shop that much. Also, I have a small closet. It?s a mess! It looks fine to the naked eye, but things are shoved in every corner. Friends come round and say, ?But I have more clothes than you.??
The secret to a happy marriage? ?Bruce Paltrow [Gwyneth?s father] had a great quote. I?m almost scared to tell you? but someone asked how he stayed married all these years and he said, ?We never wanted to get divorced at the same time.? Now everyone will think there was a period at which we did want to get divorced. But you stay married because you want to be there, despite everything. I don?t know, it seems like it?s just as deserving of effort as anything else is, certainly a career. I guess we both want to be in it.?
The love for Carrie Bradshaw: ?She was a really good friend. That?s why they can forgive those very apparent flaws and selfishnesses. She was a deeply devoted friend, and I think women really respond to that kind of connection. I think we all want it, we all work towards having it, and we?re not always the very best friends we can be? It?s kind of surprising to say, but in a way [Sex and the City] was a more innocent time. I think so much reality television ? and the women that dominate culture today ? are pretty unfriendly towards one another. They use language that?s really objectionable and cruel and not supportive. I like to remember that Carrie and the other woman in Sex and the City were really nice to each other.?
[From Harper?s Bazaar UK]
She?s right about SATC being a simpler time overall, and it?s crazy to think that the TV show only ended a decade ago. None of the women were texting each other or maintaining their social media profiles or tweeting shoe selfies. If the characters were modernized? well, I think Carrie Bradshaw would still be a thing. In some ways, she was ahead of the current trend of self-indulgence and narcissism. That?s what I think about when I watch those old episodes: Carrie?s ability to turn any situation into The Carrie Show. As for the thing about how cruel people are to each other? SJP has heard the My Little Pony jokes, and she thinks you?re a bitch for laughing.

Stepping out for promotional duties for her SJP Fashion Collection, Sarah Jessica Parker attended the pop-up shop opening at Nordstrom in New York City on Wednesday (February 26).
The "Sex And The City" lady wore a gorgeous Pink and black dress as she smiled big for the cameras and made her rounds through the exciting collection.
During her recent interview with Style.com, Miss Parker revealed her true thoughts about her collaboration with Manolo Blahnik CEO George Malkemus. "I'm nervous. I'm nervous that George has invested so much time and effort and money into this project."
While chatting about her line, Sarah stated, "Will it prove to be worth it? Will people respond to these shoes? I'm excited to have the opportunity, but I'm extremely nervous. I'm going to five cities to talk about the shoes, and this is what I will hear: 'Are you sure I can wear this to work?' And I'll say, 'Why does this make you any less capable in the office than your black pump?' Who told us these things?'"
"No one's at fault, but it's real adjustment to say to someone, 'Absolutely, you can wear that to your meeting. Absolutely, you can wear that to your parent-teacher conference or for a wedding," she added.

| Sarah Jessica Parker thinks 'there is one last chapter to tell' for 'sex & the City' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Sarah Jessica Parker covers the February issue of InStyle Mag. Isn?t this a horrible cover? I was watching some old episodes of Sex & the City over the holidays, remembering how SJP really was one of the ?It Girls? of the late 90s and early aughts. She was very striking and sexy in the SATC TV show. In the movies, something had changed. It seemed like SJP was still being styled as a girlish 30-something, when I wanted to see her switch it up and show some personal growth. Which brings me to a larger point: does SATC still speak to you? Or did it belong to a certain time and place and there?s no going back (or for that matter, forward)? Do Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha only exist in a certain SATC dimension from a decade ago?
These are the questions I asked myself when I chanced upon some quotes from SJP?s InStyle interview. She was asked about the possibility of a THIRD Sex and the City movie, which happens every time SJP is interviewed. We?re not the only ones who can?t move on, and to her credit, SJP almost always takes the question and properly reflects on it. She?s even said (in a general way) that she would be open to a third film if everyone else is too. But in this InStyle interview, she makes it sound like the third film is probably going to happen. NOOOOOOO.
On a third SATC film: “A part of me thinks there is one last chapter to tell. But timing is a peculiar thing. It isn’t a decision that can wait forever. I don’t want to have to wear muumuus!”
On age appropriate fashion: ?People should dress the way they want. Any rules for age or shape are silly. If you walk out the door feeling good about yourself, that?s what counts.?
On her words to live by: ?The Golden Rule ? do unto others as you would have them do unto you ? that?s my religion, my dogma. As soon as my son could recite it back, I?d repeat it to him.?
On her success: ?The real success happened after I was grown, and that saved me. I was appreciative of all of it, and continue to be ? my gosh. I don?t think my success has ever defined me; it?s just this thing that I carry around and then shepherd in a hopefully graceful way, you know??
[From InStyle via JustJared]
Apparently, Kristin Davis is up for a third film too ? she recently told Haute Living that ?there is discussion? amongst the ?players? of SATC. But! Cynthia Nixon recently said that ?it?s fine to let it go? regarding the SATC franchise. And I suspect Kim Cattrall has moved well past it, don?t you? At this point, I would say that Nixon and Cattrall will flat-out refuse, but Kim might come on if there?s a huge paycheck. Cynthia won?t though. She doesn?t give a s?t. Good for her.
Granted, there is part of me that thinks ?well, they keep making those stupid Fast & Furious and Expendables movies, maybe the ladies should get a stupid SATC franchise too.? But really, the movies killed the franchise. The movies were so GD stupid.

Rocking their bubble coats in the chilly Big Apple, Sarah Jessica Parker walked her twin girls to school in the West Village on Monday (November 25).
The "Sex & the City" star wore a gray coat with a fur-lined hood and a gray hat with blue jeans as she held both Marion and Tabitha's hands as they rocked Pink and purple coats and matching woolen hats.
Nowadays, the 48-year-old actress is hitting the stage, appearing in an off-Broadway play with Blythe Danner.
In "The Commons of Pensacola," a mother loses everything after her husband is busted in a Wall Street scam, as family members wonder if they can ever trust each other again. The play runs through January 26th at New York City Center's Stage 1.

Her message read, "Very 1st tweet," the 48-year-old actress wrote. "Proud to share my new series city.ballet. on AOL On. @NYCballet dancers = extraordinary!"

Proving that she?s quite the hands-on mom, Sarah Jessica Parker escorted her twin daughters to school in New York City on Tuesday morning (September 17).
The ?Failure to Launch? star was hard to miss in her colorful striped sweater as she led little Marion and Tabitha by the hand up the Manhattan sidewalk.
And when she?s not handling domestic duties, SJP is all about designing shoes for her forthcoming line with Manolo Blahnik.
Parker explained, "You know that makes a difference, when a shoe isn't well-made, it doesn't smell good. Not that it really matters?but all those details really add up."
"I really wanted to bring back the single sole. What I really wanted to do was give those colors, regardless of the trends, to women in beautiful shapes, and at affordable prices. But still keep the quality. Because if we're talking about a few hundred dollars, those are hard-earned bucks, and they better be good."

Can I just vent for a second? Harper?s Bazaar just went through an online redesign and it SUCKS!! Bazaar used to be one of my favorite mags to check online because everything was extremely user-friendly as far as slideshows and accessing the full celebrity interview. Anyway, Sarah Jessica Parker is the September cover girl for Bazaar, so I was wrong ? it?s not Scarlett Johansson. You can see SJP?s photoshoot here ? she was photographed by Terry Richardson, and the shots aren?t bad at all. The whole shoot is rather dated, though ? the clothes look like they?re from Sex & the City (the TV show) and SJP has been Photoshopped to look like that era too. You can read SJP?s interview here and here are some highlights:
She?s collaborating with Manolo Blahnik: “She has a fan base in the fashion world that’s extraordinary, and it’s truly because she’s such a nice person,” says George Malkemus, president of Manolo Blahnik. Recently he teamed up with Parker to create an SJP line of shoes in the $250 to $450 range, to be sold at Nordstrom starting in February. “Were it anyone but Sarah Jessica, I wouldn’t have done it,” Malkemus says. Parker was awaiting the first samples from Italy when we spoke, but expect feminine shapes, plenty of low heels, and unusual color combinations like navy and mocha. “The shoe business is so exciting because we don’t have to think of black and brown as the only neutrals anymore,” she says.
SJP?s tortured history with collaborations and fashion lines: With her new shoes, Parker may finally get real fashion respect. Her cute apparel line, Bitten, bit the dust when her partners went bankrupt. Then came Halston, a label with a great legacy but a nest of problems. Parker still took the plunge. “We’ve all worked with complicated people,” she tells me, “and I always think that I can disarm them. I love collaborating. I’m a great listener and learner, and I don’t think I know more than they do. I’m transparent.” Instead Parker largely got pain for her trouble, and, contrary to media reports, she did not get paid. “I really did work for free,” she says. In the end, “some cultures can’t be undone.”
What she has going on: Next month Parker returns to Off Broadway after a long absence, costarring with the elegant Blythe Danner in The Commons of Pensacola, a dramedy written by Amanda Peet, based on the Madoff scandal. She’s also in the midst of developing a series for HBO, set in New York, that promises to explore the darker aspects, including infidelity, of what it means to have it all. Meanwhile, she is producing a documentary for AOL Originals about one of her passions, New York City Ballet. She also finds time to raise money for Democratic causes, holding events for President Obama and, most recently, New York mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio.
Maintaining her ?image?: “I don’t think I’ve ever spent 10 minutes calculating my image. I can’t even recall a conversation.”
Rumors of Matthew Broderick?s alleged affair: “Yeah, I didn’t comment on it,” Parker acknowledges, adding, “People have asked me about my marriage, ‘How do you make it work, and I say, ‘We don’t talk about it.’ That’s not really true. It’s sort of a nasty response.” She thinks for a moment. “Matthew and I come from a different time and place. When we were young people, all we ever wanted was to be good working actors. We didn’t think of fame or money because, honestly, money was never part of the dream. It was to work in theater, to be around those people whose work I was in total awe of. I never saw the trappings; nobody talked about being a celebrity. So when our marriage came up in conversation, it wouldn’t occur to us that we were obligated to respond to allegations or gossip. You have to be a bit circumspect, but you also have to take up a position, and you have to stick to it.
She loves Matthew: “There’s also the reality of your life,” she continues. “I love Matthew Broderick. Call me crazy, but I love him. We can only be in the marriage we are. We’re very devoted to our family and our lives. I love our life. I love that he’s the father of my children, and it’s because of him that there’s this whole other world that I love.”
The new HBO show she?s producing (and may star in): “It’s about a woman, a beloved talk-show host out of Minneapolis, whose husband is a cook. He sort of put his career on hold while she had this big success, and ultimately they move to New York to give his career a chance. But they’re floundering. He’s a hothead and he can’t really keep a job. Deeply lovable.” In the emotional turmoil her character winds up having an affair. “When we started working on this,” she says, “it became clear that women in their 40s are having affairs, and if they’re not having an affair, then one of their best friends is. How do we treat our marriages, and how can you be deeply involved and in love with someone else and also be in love with your husband? How are you a good mother? And what does it do to a marriage to be so deeply distracted elsewhere?”
Her daughters: “They come to me and say, ‘I don’t want to wear that; it’s not beautiful.’ I don’t know where these ideas come from because we don’t talk a lot about it in our house. We don’t hold up examples of what’s feminine, what’s pretty.” (And, yes, her girls are into playing dress-up, though not yet with her clothes: “They’re more drawn to hideous cheap fabrics and sparkly colors.”)
On critical thinking: But in a broader sense, she laments that “critical thinking is being shuffled off to Siberia. It’s no good for any of us. It’s no good for my son. Sometimes he has opinions, and I go, ‘James Wilkie ?’ He knows I’m going to say, ‘Please don’t be so glib. Let’s talk about it.’ I’m terrified he’s just arriving at a point of view because he’s read a snippet instead of a whole piece.” She laughs lightly. “I feel like a broken record, but I’m genuinely concerned about who we are.”
[From Harper?s Bazaar]
That stuff about women having affairs is? interesting. She talks about it like it happened to her or someone close to her. It probably has happened to someone close to her. As for the allegations of Broderick?s affair years ago? I give her credit for answering the question head-on and not shutting the interview down in a flurry of denial. I think her most interesting statement is, ?We can only be in the marriage we are.? As in, she takes it as it comes and she?s not trying to make her marriage sound like it?s the most epic and romantic thing ever. She makes her marriage sound realistic and pragmatic, although? it would be interesting to hear HIS side of it.
